The Riverside in Stirling

Visited with family visiting from the USA - bitterly cold day so after a chilly walk round Dunblane we popped in for something to heat us up - bowl of soup was huge & very tasty! Scone was delicious & loved the wee tea pots & strainers!

A busy night at the Riverside in Dunblane. A very popular restaurant and easy to see why, good food and drink at reasonable prices and excellent friendly and efficient staff. An imaginative menu that would suit everyone. Recommended.

I live near Dunkeld and sing in a choir in Dunblane on a Wednesday night. My daughter studies in Glasgow. She had a spare evening so we decided to meet for a quick supper before choir. Randomly she parked outside the Riverside and we went in there. Great find. Lovely bright, timber-led interior. Staff very nice. Anna had a chorizo pizza, I had the sea bream. We’ll be back. Definitely. Maybe even fortnightly until the end of the choir season in the Spring! 😂

Just a coffee and fruit scone... the service and quality products would make me return for lunch! In fact worth a 45 mi drive from ho.r to return. Dog friendly, human friendly fabulous service! Just keep doing what you're doing!

A really lovely pub. We called in for a pint and a glass of wine but ended up staying for dinner as the food looked so good. It was the best beef burger I have ever eaten. My husband had the fish and chips and throughly enjoyed it. Very welcoming. Nice location in the middle of Dunblane overlooking the river.

The roast on Sunday was very disappointing, the meat was tough, & thickly sliced, but the vegetables & gravy was tasty. £21 was pricey for a meal that was not enjoyed. The atmosphere was good & staff friendly

What a cracking find. Never stayed in Dunblane before and booked this as it was recommended on the internet. It was absolutely brilliant. The food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend and if we are ever back in the area we would definitely return. They gave outside seating which would be lovely on a good day, unfortunately it was very wet in the day we were there. Loved how the bill was delivered inside a book 🤗

Beautiful setting, right on the river. Lovely decor and furniture - simple but tasteful! The Menu was really appealing and all the food we had was excellent! The service was very friendly & helpful throughout our visit.

A beautiful restaurant right on the river in the centre of the city. We had a wonderful 3 courses in this charming setting. Food was delicious, service first rate and friendly. Loved it. Best food in the city bar none. Highly recommended but be sure to reserve in advance!

Very disappointing lunch - pre booked. On arrival place smelt like a not too inviting fish and chip shop. We were seated at a very small table next to the cold wind coming in from the constantly opening door to the patio - people constantly coming back in and barging into our table because it was so cold outside. My wife ordered Not the salt and pepper calamari as a main course off the starters. It arrived piled up in a small dish with a wee pot of a mayonnaise based dip. Nothing else and it looked so unattractive and unappealing. It looked very suspiciously brown - cooked in well used oil perhaps?? I ordered the seafood and chorizo risotto. Well , with these ingredients , it takes a special talent to make this dish bland and tasteless. Even the chorizo was tasteless as it was hard and crispy and looked as it had been pre cooked sometime previously. Not a pleasant experience.

The outdoor area is quite nice and large. Most people were having drinks. Not sure were the 5 star rating comes from, not the food, although the meal was okay. Had the meal been 5 stars I would have eaten there a second time. Location is excellent and Dunblane is very nice.

We wandered into this restaurant, and, despite being a Friday evening, they were kind enough to seat us for dinner. The restaurant has a large outdoor patio overlooking the river and was packed because it was a lovely cool evening. The prawn and Tuscan sausage appetizer was delicious. We also enjoyed their seafood and chorizo risotto, served piping hot. They have a very good wine and cocktail menu. The sticky toffee pudding was the best we have had in a long time! Thank you for the lovely meal and evening.

Amazing food and great service. The food didn't take long to come out and I have no complaints Would recommend to anyone.

Went for lunch, we were welcomed and shown to a table. Staff brought a dish of water for my dog. Menu was very appealing. Food was good and plentiful. Staff were excellent I would go back again.

Had an outside table on a beautiful sunny evening. Food was good, staff were excellent. Building doesn’t look great from the outside but don’t let that put you off.

Great staff and ambience but the food was somewhat bland. The risotto was tasteless, the pizza underwhelming and the calamari coating soft.

Had the Scottish breakfast and it was fantastic. The coffee was also really good. Had hagus for the first time and it was really good. Great atmosphere and kind staff. Would highly recommend.

This restaurant is a fantastic place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Very comfortable, good food and great service. Highly recommend while visiting the Dunblane area.

I have been a few times. Sadly, on a recent visit on Easter Sunday- I was soooooo disappointed. Service was very unwelcoming and abrupt. We were not made to feel welcome at all and I wonder if this was because we are not locals? I really feel a smile can go a long way. I also felt the manager could be kinder when speaking to their own staff. Food was very average. Sunday Roast needs great improvement- especially the potatoes. They are frozen potatoes and do not hit the mark. Why not make your own? Much tastier and would elevate the meal. This has potential but not good enough and bland. Risotto with cod was ok- nothing exciting and very much lacked flavour. Dessert- Creme brulee was tasteless and bitter on top. Apple tarte tatin was great! I really hope the atmosphere and food changes as the restaurant is lovely. Please sort this out!

Wow. Simply wow. My wife, daughter (16), and I spent 7 wonderful days in Scotland. Our last couple days were in and around Dunblane. The Riverside is a gem amongst restaurants. The setting beautiful alongside the river. The decor is modern yet somehow tradition. The menu is amazing (my vegetarian wife greatly appreciated the meatless options). The proprietor clearly has a knack for creating positive culinary and entertaining experiences. We saw happy dogs, a 64 year old’s birthday, and young children being allowed to be kids. Mhairi was a wonderful and engaging waitperson. All and all a 10:10. ❤️

Excellent Sunday Lunch cooked to perfection with fresh local ingredients. Excellent. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive which made the experience.

As soon as we walked in the door, we felt very welcome. All the staff were friendly and very efficient. We had the haggis, scallops, and a calamari special to start, followed by the haddock and chips, lamb rump and mac and cheese. Everything was delicious.

Really good menu and wine list. Haggis starter was really good as was the ribeye. Fast friendly service even though It was quite busy. would recommend.

Had a fantastic meal and drinks last night , food was amazing can recommend the scallops and the Mediterranean bowl . The staff was amazing too they couldn’t do enough for you .

Lovely tea - food was delicious and good quick service . Near railway station too if required . Went in good recommendations and so glad we did as very very enjoyable

Looking forward to my first visit, on entering place looked luvly and the staff were helpful Sunday roast looked excellent and we both ordered, On presentation the dish looked a good portion however the beef was chewy, the vegetables were definitely Al dente and the Yorkshire pudding was soft and floppy! So the taste was ok but in the end we were disappointed Might give it another try sometime, every place deserves a second chance.

Stumbled upon this place when passing through at lunchtime. The staff were very friendly welcoming and the food was exceptional. I had the fish goujon sandwich and my husband had the bbq chicken one. Generous portions and clearly quality ingredients made freshly. Thoughtful touches like delivering the bill in an antique picturebook. If that was not mark of quality enough, there was a couple sitting next to us who had been coming back for 50 years! We will need to come back in summertime when their terrace is open and visit their other two branches in Stirling and Doune.

We stumbled across this gem while looking for somewhere to eat in Dunblane. We weren't too sure but were hungry by this point so we stepped in. SO GLAD WE DID!!! The service from when you step in is fantastic. You are seen to straight away despite it being busy. Your menu is quickly given to you and your drinks are brought over nearly instantly. The selection is great, with a standard menu, a specials, a vegetarian menu and a gluten free menu. The actual food is amazing! The burger is to die for, it tastes phenomenal. I had the blue cheese steak burger and I could have eaten two. Its so tasty and moreish, thr ingredients were perfectly balanced and the burgers were fantastic with nothing wrong. I wish I could eat these everyday, I've never had a burger that tasted so good. The deserts were just as good. Creme brullie was perfect. The topping was perfect and the shortbread was a nice addition. The portion was large and really filling. If you are in Dunblane or anywhere nearby you have to try this fantastic gem or you are missing out! My only complaint is I don't live closer so can't ear here more often

Had a lovely meal here. Our waiter, Jake, was absolutely lovely. He could not have been more accomodating and full of good advice. Highly recommend.

Lovely lunch (soup & sandwich option) and great service and welcome all round but especially by Zander and Jake. Looking forward to going back!

I have just had the best pint of Moretti poured by Archie in the Riverside. Delivered with flourish and panache.

We enjoyed a very nice meal in this cozy restaurant in the heart of Dunblane. Haggis, venison and prawns were excellent starters. Ribeye was amazing as well as the linguine and the chicken breast. All this accompanied with very good wines from a good wine card. Very friendly staff. Highly recommendable!

We were a group of 6 on a holiday in Scotland and found it difficult getting a restaurant at 7 pm in Dunblane. We were lucky to find the Riverside Pub & Restaurant. Boy - what a wonderful evening did we have? It turned out to be close to the hotel we were staying at ( so very convenient). The food was excellent. We order a number of starters and mains and all of them were excellent without exception. The ambience was great and our experience was made even more enjoyable by the friendly and helpful attitude of Hannah. Thank you Hannah.

Firstly the Waiting staff were friendly. However the female manager was loud which was unnecessary. The Fish Finger sandwich was disappointing as the batter was very pale and not crispy. We ordered three pate starters but sent one back as it was a different colour and mushy texture compared to the others. We were given a replacement which was again mushy. It worried me that there could be such a difference but the kitchen didn’t notice. Also an issue but was having been asked twice whether we wanted sugar with our hot drinks and replied yes it was rather surprising to have a handful of sachets dumped on the the table and no spoons for the tea which the Manager served. Seems to be a lack of attention to detail. Surely serving sugar sachets in a bowl or plate would be better.

Absolutely superb. Wow. Just called in for a lunch and so glad we came here. What an amazing Sunday roast but everything looked great. We were already talking about when when we'll be back.

A magnificent find. We were staying at the Hilton, Dunblane and decided to explore the town itself and happened upon this fantastic Restaurant / Pub. As soon as we entered the front door we were attentively greeted and shown to a table, sat and offered water, so our expectations were high. I opted for the Beer Battered Linlithgow Haggis to start which was stunning and full of flavor and for Main course I had Pan Roasted lamb Rump, which was cooked to perfection and the vegetables could not have been crispier and hot. We opted to skip deserts and had another pint of Belhaven Best instead. I cannot recommend this place enough based on our experience as the Chef Josh is definitely talented and the team at the front of house could not have been more accommodating. See you in a couple of weeks.

Amazing meal! Have been here several times, everything always tastes insanely amazing - especially the ciabatta sandwiches. Drinks were good too. Lovely view of the river from the balcony seating outside - especially when the weather is sunny. Great setting. Haven’t sat inside yet but the decor looks very warm and cosy. Dog friendly. Waiting staff are lovely and gave our dog some treats.

We (20 ladies) were booked in for coffee/tea/cakes etc after a visit to Dunblane Cathedral. We had a lovely welcome. The cakes/scones were delicious.......a perfect end to a super day

What an amazing dining experience from start to finish! We were early for a reservation and were seated none the less. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable, our food was absolutely delicious. And the atmosphere was friendly and charming!! What a marvelous way to end our trip to Scotland!!! Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! Owner was gracious and accommodating. One of the best locations we have eaten at!!

What a lovely friendly team. We were visiting Dunblane for the weekend and did some research to ensure we could take our dog. On arrival we were very warmly greeted to have lunch which was so delicious as was the cocktail of the day that we booked in for dinner the next day. Not rushed to leave and could enjoy 3 leisurely courses followed by drinks.

Delicious dinner with family on a Monday night. Place very busy, definitely recommend booking. Generous portions - especially the pizza. Great cocktails too. Place is dog friendly as well, always a bonus!

Went here as a friend suggested it was the best restaurant in Dunblane but boy was I disappointed. The portions were tiny. I couldn’t believe I was paying £16 for a tiny piece of chicken 10 French beans and potato that you would finish in 4 forkfuls. My god this was the worst experienced in many years. The place is lovely and staff are attentive but I was left hungry and had to get something else to eat when I go home. I’m only 69kg so I’m not big and my son would eat more than this when he was 7 or 8. I will definitely give this place a miss.

Nice restaurant with friendly people. Nice food, although the pasta was a bit overcooked for my personal liking. When mentioned they immediately came forward with a gesture. Very professional. Nice staff, when you’re in Dunblane definitely the best choice.

Spotted this while out in Dunblane Scotland. The place has a separate vegan/vegetarian menu which did not disappoint. I had the plant based burger and chips and my sister had the cauliflower "scampi". We made dinner reservations before we left to come back. Also the coffee was perfect and just what we needed to perk up!

We visited for lunch.It was busy and service wasn't fast but we were in no hurry so it suited us.They had a good choice of gluten free food. With a gluten and dairy allergy the staff where helpful with regards to ingredients of the items. My partner had a burger from the lunch menu. Unfortunately they did forget to add the cheese and bacon. He said the burger was okay but nothing exciting.

What an amazing evening we’ve had on our first visit here, which will hopefully be o my the first of many. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are wonderful (especially our server, Richard) and the food was just everything we could ask for. Our starters were the sweet potato tart and the calamari which we’d both happily order again. We went for the fish and chips and the evening special - lamb burger on charcoal brioche with all kinds of lovely blue cheese slaw and red onion marmalade gorgeousness. Can’t fault it, even to the extent that we have just experienced our best mushy peas in both of our lives. Richard made the evening even more special with his humour and warmth. When you’ve missed dining out for over a year and hope that your first time back in the ring is a good one, you can’t hope for better than this. I’ll be back, possibly tomorrow if allowed by my spouse.

A friend and I went for afternoon coffee and cake. We waited 25 minutes for our order to arrive. Coffee was not warm but was not going to send it back after such a long wait so I drank it with my cake. I was shocked when I got the bill .. £ 14.20 for 2 regular coffees and cakes! Poor service , poor coffees and exorbitant bill. I will not be going back!

So fantastic to have a restauant meal after such a long time. The Riverside did not disappoint with excellent waiters, superb wine and delicious food..... the salmon and the seafood risotto were excellent. The overall atmosphere was such a buzz!

Staying locally, we decided to have an evening meal in The Riverside. Fortunately there's a small car park at rear. Good pub grub, my wife enjoyed the macaroni and cheese with chips, and I had the haddock and chips. We both had the popcorn and chocolate dessert, but it was a bit pricey at £7 each. With a couple of drinks and two cappuccinos, the bill was £59.35. Service was efficient and friendly.

My partner and I went in for some lunch. Was able to get a seat 10 mins before our booking instead of standing in the rain. Had 2 steak burgers and they were excellent, we also had the creme brulee each and it was amazing. Will definitely be back very soon!

Had to sit indoors so only non alcoholic beer at £4.40 for a small bottle is in rip-off territory.Pity cos food is good as is service and a good buzz about the place while still socially distancing.

We had to come to Scotland for an indoor restaurant meal! Riverside in Dunblane is to be recommended, even with the reduced menu. And none the worse for no alcohol, a rule which changes soon. Lovely friendly service, excellent ambiance, music not too loud. Good food and then an excellent coffee to round off the meal.

Popped in for Sunday roast we had our Wee dog with us so we booked outside it was lovely the beef was amazing service superb will be back plus the rain stayed off will return soon

I normally enjoy my trip to the Riverside but it’s now overpriced and under quality food. On arrival the grumpy manager was very sharp and not very welcoming unlike all the other staff. We sat outside and it was cold. Due to COVID they offered no blankets and there were no other forms of heating such as heaters or hot water bottles available. I’d like to think the money they charge for food and drinks should be put back into making the customers experience happy and at the very leased warm and comfortable. The food was not the usual standard which was disappointing.

First restaurant we've been to since things have opened back up, very organised and good set up for covid times. Lovely atmosphere, the staff are all super friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. We both had rib eye steaks, cooked exactly as we asked for and absolutely delicious (potentially the best steaks we've ever had). Would highly recommend and hope to visit again soon!

We visited for afternoon tea in October and realised it was the ideal place to meet up with family. As well as the cosy inside area, there are two large open terraces. Currently that means one can have a bottle of wine with ones meal. There is something for everyone on the menus and all our party said the food was excellent. Service was good, in spite of the distance the waitresses had to negotiate to the end of the lower terrace.

We went with friends as we haven’t visited for a while, and we weren’t disappointed.Staff were brilliant everyone social distancing and wearing masks on entry and exit.My wife and I both had the Cullen skink to start, very tasty with lots of smoked haddock, I then had the monkfish and prawn curry which was superb, my wife had the seafood platter ( which is a sharing platter as a starter ) and it was delicious but massive. We haven’t been for a while but will definitely not leave it so long for our next visit.

Great Bistro. Straightforward, well presented and tasty. I had one of the best burgers I have had in a long time, medium not grilled to death. Good beer. Good service. All my friends were pleased with their choices too.

We ate twice here during our brief stay in Dunblane. Both meals were excellent and were enhanced by first class service and an extremely safe feeling environment. Would definitely return

It's so lovely to be able to sit outside under cover on the newly constructed lower terrace, enjoying fabulous home made scones and coffee. The food menu is great too - the seafood and chorizo pizza is to die for!

Went to the Riverside with my husband and Mum. We each had a gorgeous meal. Can highly recommend the lamb. Desserts were exceptional. We were looked after by Paul who was very warm and welcoming. Thanks, we’ll be back!

The genial welcome from the Maitre d’ (owner?) was given to all visitors when we visited for a short Lunch and enjoyed very good Tomato and Red Pepper Soup and a luscious Fish Finger sandwich - clearly all was home-made with good bread supplied by a good bakery.A second visit for whisky and ale later in the day demonstrated that the warm greetings and engagement were standard practice for all staff; clearly good practice is shared !

We had just checked into Dunblane Hydro for a two night stay and decided to walk down into town for a bite of lunch. We decided on the Riverside due to location and as it was a sunny but chilly day we asked if we could sit outside by the river or if it was too cold. We were quickly taken downstairs to a cold dull terrace and the lady who ushered us down handed us a covid detail form to complete and disappeared back upstairs. It was far too cold and probably the reason we were only people down there. We went back up and noticed a terrace on level with the restaurant which captured the sun! Unfortunately, the lady in question omitted to mention this to us - this was our first visit! When we asked about this ‘sunny’ area we were told there were no seats and not given chance to wait for one becoming available.We sat inside and thankfully younger staff who then served us were much more helpful than the ‘senior’ lady.Food was average, scallops not warm enough and partners chicken and ham toastie seriously lacked chicken, disappointing!

Visited for a beer and then for lunch the following day. Good alcoholic drinks selection however when the child ordered diet coke no mention was made until diet pepsi was delivered to our table. She doesn't really like pepsi..!!!We all had snacky meals however the child had a margherita pizza which tasted like a bad frozen pizza. The waiter apologised for the size and said the wrong dough had been delivered.It was a great setting on the lower balcony overlooking the river and overall it looks and feels like a good bar/restaurant notwithstanding the pizza issue.

Visited Dunblane for a couple of days and ate an evening meal here. The menu has a great selection, something for everyone whether they eat meat, fish or are vegetarian or vegan. The fish and chips also the mushroom risotto were delicious and the banana sticky toffee pudding was outstanding. Staff were their usual friendly selves and all the covid hygiene measures were top-notch, felt very safe. Looking forward to going back soon hopefully.

We had not booked but lucky for us they managed to squeeze us in.The welcome was warm and friendly with all current Covid measures in place.My wife ordered the Mac and Cheese I had the seafood risotto. It was without doubt the best risotto I have ever had.Do not miss out on this dish. You have to try it.Portion sizes perfect for lunch. Great value for money.We will definitely return but will make sure we book ahead.PsThe Mac and Cheese was brilliant as well.

We visited twice whilst in the area and were well served both times. First time was just for a coffee but then we discovered their delicious scones. The second time was for breakfast - a traditional scottish one with haggis and black pudding as well as the usual beans, sausage and bacon. Wonderful and very filling. The staff are friendly and obliging and everything was in place to make to feel confident about Covid being kept at bay. The take-away scones on the second visit didn't fail either

Visited 22.09.2020. Had not booked so we’re met by a nice lady who asked us to wait. We were offered a table outside or to be seated inside next to the open door . A second member of staff suggested nothing else was available. We agreed but asked if the door could be closed. The second staff member said the door could not be closed and she was having to work all day in these conditions. A short time later we were asked if we wished to move to a diagonal booth. We did move. Other people around us were also commenting on the cold. We ordered and I had the chicken my wife had soup. This was nice but my food was frozen by the time I finished. The matter of fact waitress was not pleasant in her manner and on receipt of my bill I was asked if everything was fine. I informed the lady about the cold being unpleasant and her attitude being unpleasant. She took payment then said to me to “ HAVE A NICE DAY “. Not very appropriate. Once out side I went to over look the river and saw the outside door had now been closed. A very unpleasant experience.

We took a recent visit to The Riverside having read so many great reviews. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The staff were also great and the procedures in place were clear and easy to follow.

We had lunch here it was very good. Stayed on for a few drinks. They also have a lovely new sit out area which we went back to. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back

We had booked a table for my birthday meal. We traveled from Dundee and my son and family from Glasgow.well let me tell you it was well worth it for the food and service. Every body enjoyed the restaurant and the lovely surroundings 10/10

Wow found this wee gem online as we had never visited Dunblane and wow we were not disappointed. Staff were amazing in particular Paul who was very helpful. Fish and chips was awesome crisp fresh and would have fed two folk. Can’t wait to find an excuse to come back especially now we know it’s dog friendly

Stopped here for lunch on our recent trip. We had the Italian pizza which was not the best, base was too thin and hard. Menu says stone baked however I don’t think there was enough of a base for it to be called a pizza. Next up was the soup of the day and the Brie and bacon sandwich, it was really tasty and enjoyed. Nice place to sit and relax, outdoor seating area over the river is great.Overall really good, Shame about the pizza

We spent a lovely weekend in Dunblane. We visited the Riverside the Friday and Saturday. I was very impressed by the friendliness and the professionalism of all the staff at what we all know are very difficult times. When We were leaving on the Saturday we asked the staff if they could order us a taxi as I am recovering from a back operation so walking was not a option unfortunately there were none available without hesitation one of the staff who I must add had been working hard thro the day immediately offered to run us to our accommodation. When you find yourself in a situation like I did it makes you appreciate such kindness. I would definitely recommend a trip to the riverside food drink and staff absolutely amazing . Thank you again

We booked in at the Riverside as we fancied a good sunday roast. What we got was one of the best roasts I've had in a long time. The carrots were to die for and the beef was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. And with the excellent Isle of Skye scallops as a starter I really couldn't have asked for a better meal.Really lovely place with great food and great, attentive staff.

Had a light lunch here on a nice sunny day. Sat outside with our family and enjoyed the soup and sandwich deal, the burger and a child’s sausage and mash. We also had drinks and coffee before setting off for a walk along the River Allan.

Staying at Dunblane with my girlfriend and we were gutted to see that monterey jacks was gone as this was our favourite place here, we stumbled across this pub and we weren’t let down, the service was great, place was very clean and had a nice atmosphere and it’s dog friendly, i also had the best toasty i’ve ever tasted! think this could be our new favourite place here, 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Excellent food, really good veggie menu as well as a really good range of meat & fish dishes. The baked Camembert starter was really good & apparently the scallops with black pudding were too! The macaroni cheese was excellent, as was the haddock and the burger. The creme brûlée finished off the meal perfectly. There is a good choice of wines & the New Zealand Sauvignon particularly good. The staff were excellent & the environment just lovely.

Had lunch a week ago and was amazing!!! our server paul was so funny and efficient definitely made our lunch more enjoyable. Such a nive spot outside looking into the river.

Had dinner with my daughter last week. Food was excellent as was service waiter was Paul, very attentive. Lovely setting vfm good choice. Covid measures in place. Will be back!

We arrived as a group of 8 without a booking and were quickly accommodated in an outdoor area next to the river. The food was nice with good portion sizes. Service was attentive and friendly. Our desserts took a long time to arrive but the waitress said that they wouldn’t charge us for them. Overall a good experience and I would return again if I was in the Dunblane area.

Our server Paul was amazing! So attentive and made sure everything was good throughout the night. Really good food and great wine! I stay local so I am always at the riverside and paul made the night really relaxed enjoyable (as always!)

I've recently moved to Dunblane and had wanted to try out the Riverside for some time. My family visited in August so we took the opportunity to use the Eat Out to Help Out incentive. The food was really tasty!! Mostly though our waiter Paul was great! So attentive and helpful. It was slightly disappointing that there were quite a lot of flies in the restaurant area due to the doors being open (understandable in current times though). Thank you for a great meal. We will certainly be back!!!

We enjoyed lovely food and great service at The Riverside. Calamari to die for!! Definitely be back for more.

Had a delicious meal and lovely evening at Riverside. Food and service was excellent. We returned the following day for afternoon tea and cake... a real treat!

A great venue for our girlie night out. Staff were great allowing us plenty of time to chat without feeling hassled! Food was delicious and overall a great evening.

We visited for the 3rd time on Monday lunchtime and were served by Paul. Paul was a friendly waiter and was great with our 3.5 year old. We took advantage of the Eat out Help out deal and enjoyed a lovely burger and a delightful chocolate pot. We love the riverside as it accommodates gluten free and it's a stress free place to eat.

A very pleasant experience, with great food and great service. The Seafood Risotto is a must try experience!

First family lunch out for a while so hoped the riverside would live up to the better reviews here. Sadly not:The food, menu and drinks were Ok, not inspiring but tasty enough. What let down the whole meal was the very slow service. If the they were busy then that would be understandable, but many of the staff seemed not interested in hurrying through the simple jobs to ensure diners were served promptly. Perhaps they were out of practice, but an ok meal was made almost an ordeal by waiting.Could so easily be 5 star and almost fell to 3 (there being no 3.5 option)

Spent a few hours here last weekend and my wife and I really enjoyed it, cracking beer garden /decking area to chill in, food was excellent and friendly staff

Most impressed by our brilliant server Paul!I've just been to celebrate a happy birthday and I have to say how impressed I have been over how chilled and enjoyable our night has been. For starters we had the calamari and baked camembert (both delicious in equal measure), and for main we had a medium burger w/ cheddar and the salmon with veg - again delicious. Finished off with a Tarte au Citron and copious amounts of wine and gin. So pleased to come back after lockdown and to see all the excellent measures that the Riverside have put in place to keep everyone feeling calm and safe. Keep up the excellent work!!

We had a brilliant meal out . The waiter Paul was very nice and attentive. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection, complements to the chef

Table that arrived after us, got their drinks before us... waitress that we asked for ketchup said she had to go downstairs for it, never came back... we got four chocolate and walnut scones to take home and when we went to eat them a few hours later, they were like bullets, def. yesterday’s scones, most disappointed!!! Only up side, was the pizza and chips we shared were nice, but wouldn’t be back.

Great meal. Shared scallop starter, then beef with champ and chicken dish. Choc mousse and lemon tart to follow. All really tasty and well cooked. Sat on lovely balcony area. All Covid precautions done well, test and trace etc. Service friendly and efficient. Would def visit again if in area again. Thank you we had a lovely time.

Food was absolutely lovely, service was impeccable and they had an amazing vegan menu. Can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10

Had great lunch . We sat outside in the sunshine which was a bonus ,Steaks sandwich was amazing and chicken and bacon sandwich was fantastic. Very nice and cheery staff . If want great value lunch highly recommend The Riverside.
