Sunday Carvery one of the best we have ever had. Meat tender, veg perfectly cooked and crispy roast potatoes. The apple crumble finished the meal off brilliantly. Well priced, good portions. Wish we lived closer.

Brilliant pub! We booked a table for us to meet up with family who live nearby. We had a wonderful time, the food was excellent and very well priced. I'm sure that we will be back again. In fact our relatives had never been before, but have also vowed to go more often. The dining room was very welcoming, and the rest of the pub is charming, with a traditional vibe.

A quick google and The Rock Inn was the closest to our holiday home. Looked at the reviews and seemed ok. And it did not disappoint. We sat in the restaurant section which was quiet however the food did not disappoint, my partner had the hunters chicken which she really enjoyed. The little one had sausage and mash, she ate it all and I have the Lamb shoulder which was extremely nice. Great food and really well priced. If we lived closer (not 6hrs away) we would return in a heart beat.

Recently stayed in Roche on a family break and this Pub was a 5 min walk from where we were staying. We decided to walk down 1 night after tea for a pint and I really wish we hadn't. Upon waking in the main door we were greeted by 7 or 8 locals who we're extremely intoxicated and they looked like they'd been on the pop all afternoon (no issue with this, everyone's entitled to a knees up) what let the experience down was the fact we had taken our 2 young children in with us and some of these locals were yelling at each other and swearing, it was just Pub banter but I draw a line when they're using the c**t word in front of the kids. We opted to sit outside the front on the benches, a nice little area to sit. We were soon joined by the punters from inside who brought out their loud, bad language. We drank up and left and didn't return again for the rest of the week. The barmaid who served our drinks was very pleasant and to be honest she looked a little disappointed in the customers who were being rowdy but apart from this, really disappointed.

Just had the most tasty Sunday lunch, the beef melted in your mouth, with fluffy roast potatoes, a variety of veg and gorgeous gravy. Would highly recommend eating here. The pub is clean and tidy with really friendly staff.

What a beautiful local pub. Came on a Saturday evening and got a table in the restaurant(Visitors to the area). Staff were very friendly and attentattive. Great quality and valuable food. The atmosphere was the best part though (maybe stay for the karaoke;)

We did pop in to see if we could eat but was told the kitchen is closed on Monday & Tuesday. However we stayed for a drink instead and it was a friendly & cosy place to stop by at.

Staying at the nearby Holiday inn Express and looking for something with a bit more character. Was a quiet Wednesday evening but received a warm welcome, food was delicious and a good portion size. Staff member was attentive and made sure I had all I needed with a light approach. Would revisit when in the area again.

In my view the carvery was basic

We went on Sunday for the carvery. The quality was really good but the lack of selection of veg let it down a little. Puddings were excellent.

The carvery was fine except for the lack of vegetables, there was only mashed carrot and swede on offer. So disappointing

Used to stop here to eat regularly 30 years ago. Was always good. Met friends here for dinner Friday 15 September. Staff welcoming, food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Pub was busy but a great atmosphere. Will definitely start using it again.

Went for a meal here after visiting Roche rock, very friendly and the food was excellent, they also allow dogs brilliant will be visiting again

Popped in for a drink, the food menu looked nice but we didn't eat here. There is a nice from the pub to a stone tower that takes about 20 mins. It's worth a visit (it's free) then a drink to refresh afterwards.

Came here on our way back from Padstow. It was a lovely little find, with a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming & polite, even the locals made you feel at home & the food was fantastic, hats off to the chef/kitchen staff. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Had dinner here tonight. Had the lamb shoulder, it literally fell apart straight way. My friend had the chuck burger and said it was the best burger she has ever had. Really generous portions for the price too. Definitely recommend and will return for food. Had drinks after and the atmosphere was so inviting! Everyone was so kind and helpful(staff) and locals they were so friendly and including. Definitely recommend and will return.

Absolutely tremendous evening in a terrific atmosphere. The service from Shannon, Jamie and Adney was on point, attentive, absolutely efficient and terrifically executed and the atmosphere was outstanding. The food cooked was absolutely first class, indeed myself and my fellow guests discussed the fact you'd get less than this quality at a far greater price at places such as Stein at Padstow; in Chris they've got a phenomenal chef and the meals were well proportioned and outstanding value. Cannot recommend enough, will absolutely be here again.

Really friendly pub, moved all sofas about for us when we went into watch football. Just really accommodating. Had a bowl of nachos- really big bowl, good value and yummy. Great experience and we will definitely be back.

Been here a couple of times in the last few weeks. Large group for Mothers day for a Sunday carvery and a week night. Good was great and service was really friendly. Nice atmosphere in the pub too.

Third visit for food since Shannon and the new Chef took over, lovely, fresh food every time, the burgers are what we had tonight….. so yummy and I’m not normally a burger person. Definitely can tell they use local good quality meat. We will be back soon 😃

One of the best pubs in Cornwall, great atmosphere. You stand at the bar and order like a real British pub. None of this ridiculous queueing at the bar. Thursday night is burger night. I had the best burger I’ve ever had... ever. And I like burgers. Also one of the best pints of Guinness in Cornwall too.

Just visited for the first time. It was "Fish Friday " so 2-4-1 fish and chips £14 for 2 fish and chips - excellent value for really great food. Can't fault the food or service, will certainly be back to try the Steak night and carvery

On holiday and called in for a Sunday Carvery. Have visited before but not for 2 years and always been pleased. Discovered new landlord only took over 2 months ago. Very warm welcome. Excellent carvery with good selection of meat and vegetables and all cooked to perfection. Wishing the new landlord every success and will definitely be visiting again.

Myself and son were travelling to see Eden project and stopped locally for the night. The rock inn provided an Amazing humongous dinner. So tastey. Bar chappie so friendly and attentive. Great music and everyone (locals) really friendly. Would 100% visit again. Really well priced...

This used to be a great family pub very welcoming and social kind people . Just took over and families don't feel welcome nasty people in there again, drugs . No lunch food and price of beer through the roof would recommend the vic down...

This was the first time I've visited this pub. We were there supporting a charity drag bingo night run by Haarts productions. The food was excellent as was the entertainment. The pub seemed very popular and was very busy. The whole atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. With little encouragement the locals presented their own drag artists who went down well with their friends after the charity fund raiser had ended. The pub specialises in special evening's, steak night, curry nights, midweek carvery etc

Went for Sunday carvery, food was OK, although even though I had ordered a large I didn't have a lot of meat. The outside play area is looking worn, overfilled ashtrays, rubbish on the floor and the play area that once had lovely play sand...

Food not cooked was charged wrongly politely returned for refund of incorrect charges and was asked to leave and not return. I would recommend the Victoria Inn it is very close and much more friendly and they actually cook your food for you!

Disgusting food and appalling service. Credit where credit is due, the resident dog did get on the table and clean the food off the plates whilst we were getting a refund.

Terrible food. Pie was still frozen in the middle then when asked for a refund they short changed me twice then asked me to work out the amount I was due for refund myself, they could not issue a receipt for the refund so I'm sceptical im going to see it. Visited this pub today as we are holidaying in the village and was keen to support the local businesses. However I genuinely feel that there are health risks at this pub that customers need to be aware of. When we arrived we were the only people in the bar area, despite this, the lady behind the bar forgot to provide us 2 or our drinks (we had ordered only 4), so we had to ask for these. Our food took approximately an hour - I am not sure if this is the standard wait time but there certainly was no apologies for this and nobody told us there would be a higher than average wait. We wasn't overly worried about the long wait - until my partner was eating his steak and ale pie only to find it was still frozen in the middle. When he returned this and asked for a refund he was given £9.30 (despite the meal costing £14). The barwoman said this was due to the discount we had received on food (I've since discovered from looking on Facebook that on a Wednesday there should be 1/3 off food), however we received no discount so basically was refunded 2/3 of a frozen meal. My partner did eventually get his full meal discounted but had to go up to the bar several times to get it sorted. It would have been nice to get the discount that is stated online but respectfully, the food would not have been worth the discounted rate either. Another significant concern is that whilst we was up the bar (on the third occasion, trying to resolve the mix up of the refunded meal), the resident dog had climbed onto our table and was eating directly off the plates. This obviously raises serious concern about hygiene, and may explain why the cutlery we was given was filthy and needed replacing.
