We came for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Our server was louise she went out of her way to ensure our time was amazing. Thank you so much.

A nice pub with nice food and a good variety of drinks. I went there for a Sunday roast meal. Asked for a mix of meets and it was all very nicely cooked. Taste was good too. Reasonable price and portion too. The only thing to point is the service as I couldn't understand to who I should speak with about the meal and where to seat.

Alex the head chef is always friendly and always looks after us when we go in there to collect a TooGoodToGo, always chatty, and smiley. Welcoming and Friendly and good is always lovely, which we are now a regular customers there. The food is delicious.

We recently visited The George for a Sunday roast, and it was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing family meal. The highlight, of course, was the roast. The meat was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and paired wonderfully with a rich, savory gravy. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection, adding a vibrant touch to the plate. Our experience was further elevated by the excellent service we received from Louise, our waitress. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. Her warm demeanor added a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, The George delivered an exceptional Sunday roast experience. The combination of delicious food, a cozy setting, and outstanding service has made it a spot we’d happily return to. Highly recommended!

Vegetables all dried up being under the heat lamp too long...had to call someone over to get served

Great place to go for nice reasonably priced drink. Carvery is great value and always enjoyable though didn't have on this occasion. Staff friendly helpful. Lovely chilled atmosphere

Usual great value from Stonehouse. Royal George has table service. Debbie looked after us well. So much more friendly than an app!

I just want to say that the breakfast my partner and I had was very good value for money. The lady Sue at the desk was very polite and professional. There was a table where a customer was causing an unnecessary scene over having to wait for the trays with food on to be replenished. His attitude was totally impolite to the chef who was just doing his job. The server at the desk explained that the food would be out shortly. Bearing in mind this a popular place to have breakfast the demand is quickly supplied. We thought things had settled down and noticed the server Sue apologize for the delay which was not warranted. The guy then said the issue was the chef not doing his job. Very rude and totally unwarranted. They then went for extra helpings. To my disgust they had finished and then complained some more. The lady Sue was very polite and professional. This man was quite rude and it was quite clear he was after not paying the bill despite himself and his parents overloading their plates and causing an issue to get out of paying. I hope management will consider protecting staff from such abuse. The customer isn't always right and this family (mainly) the son were down right freeloading. This kind of behavior is not acceptable. Five stars for professional etiquette and good food.

A rough place to drink , stay well clear if you ain't local and a regular

As always great value and good food. Unfortunately the poor waitress was on her own in a busy restaurant and quite clearly run off her feet but still did her best to accommodate all our individual needs. Unfortunately I did feel the restaurant lacked a Christmas atmosphere this year compared to others. The decorations were sparse, I could not hear the Christmas tunes if they were playing and no Christmas crackers to pull which would have been a nice addition since some of us had the festive menu. Having said that we all left feeling full and at a very reasonable price.

12 of us visited for our Christmas work lunch, everything was lovely and Sue works really hard looking after everyone, thank you 😊

Booked in advance for an early Christmas lunch. Booking worked well and table ready for our use. Selected Christmas lunch menu from the carvery. Meat was well cooked and adequate portion size. Varied range of vegetables, but generally poor. quality. Many over cooked and mushy. Peas dried out and hard. Roast potatoes particularly disappointing.

My daughter had a pizza party here last year and this year as she loved it so much! The staff were very helpful especially Debbie. Nothing was too much trouble and they catered for Allergies. The kids had a great time, they loved rolling the dough and decorating their own pizzas. Thank you for making her birthdays so special. 😍

First appearance sticky banisters. Dirty strained smelly toilets. Broken chairs . Food . Meat ok vegetables very dry . Pineapple on daughters pizza off but she wouldn't say nothing and pudding so dry definitely wasn't worth the money cost Even water warm

Veggie roast options are not good, but the vegetables and potatoes are lovely. Good priced

Claire was really welcoming when we arrived for our lunch. She got us to our table quickly and explained all the menu options. Sue was excellent serving our table. Very professional but friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for these 2 lovely ladies. Food was excellent, the festive menu was great value.

I regularly visit the George with my daughter. The staff and particularly Debbie who serves in the restaurant are very welcoming. The menu is excellent but more often than not we plump for the carvery which is delicious. There are different definitions for atmosphere. I like places where you can hear the person the other side of the table without them shouting and neither having to breath in stale air. The George restaurant ticks both boxes. I thoroughly recommend the place based on the good food, service and atmosphere.

Sunday carvery, standard carvery, potatoes were slightly undercooked. Sue was our waitress - very professional, quick and polite. I asked whether she’d ever stuck her mouth under the ice cream machine and she said no Which I would have thought is one of the perks of the job. A lovely lady and a good sense of humour.

Had a splendid Sunday roast at 'The Royal George' in Shoreham. The service was impeccable, thanks to Debbie, our attentive waitress. Portions? Generous. The new menu features a lemon ice cream sundae that is an absolute must-try.

Would just like to thank all of the staff at the Royal George especially Debbie are waitress for the fantastic service that we had this evening for my daughters 13th birthday dinner. The staff made such a special effort and even made my daughter a heart-shaped pizza, Which made my little girls day!! I would highly recommend anybody going here to eat the food was all lovely and cooked very well. The staff all saying happy birthday to my daughter, which was a really nice touch Once again, thank you to you all we will be visiting again.

Couldn’t be bothered to go home and cook , so stayed for the Carvery . Wasn’t expecting a lot . But have to say it was amazing the meats were moist and not dry vegetables fresh and topped with butter . Our Chef Becky was amazing and provided great service , I can see her becoming KM one day … The staff on the bar great as always . Only criticism is a bit tight on the Pork Crackling … ( Joking)

Were regular visitors, always lovely food staff are very helpful and friendly The lovely Sue always goes above and beyond for us as my daughter has health issues and autism and can be hard to accommodate but she is so friendly and welcoming and never finds her a bother and always meets her needs, meaning I can relax which is a rare thing if I go out with her. I also met friends up there for a catch up over a always lovely breakfast, again we always overstay are welcome as busy chatting this is never a problem for the staff they will check in every now and again to make sure we don’t need anything but there not in your face and annoying making you feel like you need to leave like some restaurants. Great staff, great food great service.

Came as a group well looked after would not know cost.

When we arrived for our meal, we were greated and showen to our table, and that was the end of the good service, our food was not very good, the roast beef was tough, and the roast potato's were very hard and needed gravey on them to sofen then so they were enable, we also ordered some garlic bread which never arrived and we had to aske for it again, so I have to say that we have had better from this place in the past. And as fare as recommending which meal I would not recommend the roast as it us now

Needed a quick fix for a very grumbly belly. Lovely food this eve and our server, Claire, was just fantastic. So nice to be greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Poor service, poor food management. Mains apparently are served more than 20 minutes apart if you’re sat together Better service at Local McDonald’s. I’m sure the locals love the pub but the restaurant is poorly managed.

Leathery gray beef roast, frozen mixed vegetables, frozen Yorkies. Ignored my request for no potatoes as well. I’d call this a disgrace of a Sunday roast but I think it perfectly encapsulates the stereotypes people have about British cuisine. It is a disgrace to the cow though who didn’t deserve to have its carcass desecrated like that. Inedible. My disappointment is palpable and my evening is ruined.

Went today for a lunchtime carvery. Served by Sue who was on her own, but cheerful regardless. Excellent moist turkey and tasty beef and a good range of veg with cranberry sauce and lovely gravy.
