The Royal Oak in Blackpool

This is just a proper local pub everyone knows everyone the beer is very reasonabley priced and its a proper family atmosphere, a much loved member of the bar staff is beth, this entire pub would give there lives for her myself included she is so kind friendly beautiful and just an all round amazing barmaid, the owner is a great guy who will attend to all your needs, great piol and snooker facilities and a range of fruit machines, only down side is they dont serve food but if they ever did id be happy and proud to hop in as a head chef for them Amazing service lobe this pub a lot

what a terrible dirty unorganised badly ran place with awful drinks arrogant staff and attitude. filthy seating but then again when landlord allows very drunken customers to stand and dance on the seats with their shoes on what do we expect one of the sinks in the womens toilet has been broken for months ...if not years? with a bin bag over it and there has never been any hand soap in any of the dispensers...what do staff wash their hands with? mens toilet same no soap no working hand dryer place is generally grimy and dingy. bar has lots of cellotaped signs behind it dont do this or that. There will be dogs running around and you will be approached by.shop lifters to see if you want to buy stolen goods. drinks are served in any glass going so you may get a lager in a cider glass. The fobbing on.the drinks is ridiculous it will.be one third froth indicating lines need cleaning build up.of yeast or cooler not switched on or not working How is this place open? which pub company owns it as whole place needs a total refurbishment with professional staff

Landlord is a bit of a nob when serving people Plus like I have witnessed drugs being sold there and leting shop lifters in that's why I don't go in there

Called in because it was raining 🌧 and was pleasantly surprised with homely feel with friendly staff

This pub is a bit rough round the edges , but young girl behind the bar was very friendly and pleasant. Very cheap beer , and good quality .

Fantastic massive pub with pool tables, and this ain't retro it's VINTAGE shabby chic... also we got two pints and I swear I thought he'd only charged for one 😁

What a horrible owner who was behind bar. He smelt of stale urine and the most terrible bad breath to match his manky teeth. The stench of bo was unbearable. The beer was undrinkable deffo needed the lines doing. The place was unkept.he had a horrible dog which was let loose in the pub and it did a poo next to the bandit and the guy just shrugged his shoulders . I would avoid this hell hole much nicer place across road .

Beer prices are cheap as chips. Bar staff are friendly. Pool night on a Monday had a very good atmosphere. I didn't give it a 5 star rating because decor needs updating.

I have been a couple of times to the Royal Oak. First impressions can put you off, but stick with it, it is worth it. Definitely a locals pub, but does get some tourists. Very big pub that is family run with very little Bat staff. Once someone starts chatting to you you relax. They make me feel welcome, even after I won a few quid on the bandit Doesn't really serve but they do share with customers if one of the pub's teams are playing. Good selection of beers and lagers at some of the cheapest prices that I have seen in Blackpool. I am disabled and a wheelchair user and the access is great and people are helpful. The disabled toilet was spotless, well equipped and not used as a junk room. If staying in South shore at Blackpool give it a visit and make an effort to speak with the regulars, it will be worth it.

Loved every second of our time there. It was a charity day and the way everyone pitched in was perfect. Local or not this place is top notch. No air's and graces just as it should be. We will be back. Our 6 year old son danced the day away on the dance floor and the people were very friendly. Our kind of pub.

This bar is one definately to be missed, staff are obnoxious, unfriendly felt at unease while in the bar. DJ took over the singing as per usual not letting anyone else have a go. The place could do with a major facelift, outdated and smells of urine. Talk about wipe you feet on way in, I had to wipe my feet on the way out. Dark & Dingy place, looks like a local drug den. Stay away, if you know whats best.

Wow! This pub must of been a gem in its heyday. Just wow. It still has a room for pool and a room snooker room. The staff are fantastic, really friendly. The regulars are a great bunch of characters and make it a great place for people watching. Beer is the usuals thats priced at a friendly level. I must get back here when they have a band on as it's an amazing space that must sound equally amazing. Not to say this is a loud pub. It isn't. You could easily come in here with your dog and the racing post and have lovely afternoon. Worth a visit and definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

There are some really good pubs to be found walking down Lytham Road and The Royal Oak Pub was one such pub we dropped into. A traditional pub, a light and airy interior, tv's to enjoy the sport, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub all housed in a fantastic looking building, a classic British pub. We were here on a Tuesday evening, a very pleasant member of the bar team greeted us with a smile, we track and traced and sanitised our hands and we were allocated a table were my twin brother Stephen and I decided to have a Carling lager each,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My beer was good, not my usual tipple, more a real ale and craft beer fan myself but with real ale pubs scarce on the ground around Blackpool it made for a nice change ,a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink and when served iced cold as in this pub a totally refreshing brew. We really enjoyed our beers in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Royal Oak Pub we had a very positive experience. The Royal Oak Pub is easy to locate along Lytham Road. Opening hours are;Monday to Sunday, 10am till 11pm. A really good pub,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Royal Oak is an excellent sea-side pub which offers a great beer range and is one of the many pubs along this superb road in Blackpool.The Royal Oak has a traditional pub interior with original fixtures and features and superb seating options and is housed in a grand old building.I must say that I really enjoyed this superb pub as it is a traditional old boozer with superb staff and well kept beers.We visited here while walking along Lytham road and we had been to many pubs around this area but this stuck in my mind.On entry we gave our track and trace details and took our seat in the main bar area.As it is still only table service only a friendly member of staff took our order of a glass of Carling brewery lager that was served iced cold and well priced.This is a top pub in a great area and very easy to find from Lido Pool bus stop its a minute walk.(This is my first review of the Royal Oak).Opening Hours. Brill pub cheap drinks friendly

My god where do I start? Upon entry we were told to sit at a table and straight away the people next to us said we couldn’t sit there and sarcastically shouting COVID towards us. Then some guy in a £2 primark tracksuit came over claiming to be the landlord stinking off BO, and when I challenged him if he was the landlord he pulled out some ID and handed it to me? Weird or what.. this guy started to be so aggressive it turned a little bit nasty so I had to defend myself as the so called landlord was being so aggressive towards me I had to defend myself, in the end the back of his grey tracksuit bottoms turned brown, not one local backed this guy up.. avoid this pub at all costs.. it needs to be shut down.

shame they don't do kebabs here anymore

I dont like the fact that one of the paintings ain't even. if you look at one of the paintings (that our on wall) you can see that it is 57° to the left when it should be 45° to the right, shame innit, could be a pretty painting but that ruined it for me.

Decent for a quick drink. Sticking to restrictions well and enforcing masks on entry before you sit down. Only downside was it was cash only

I’ve never been to a pub or any place where you get spoken to by a member of staff like crap!! The man behind the bar was so rude to us and was not friendly whatsoever. Should be so ashamed. Appalling... at least welcome us and be nice on arrival then maybe you’d get customers coming back.

Terrible! The place is a run down building with torn seating and broken fixtures and fittings. The toilets are some of the worst I have ever seen. Avoid this pub and go across the street to the Dog & Partridge, drink in a more conventional pub setting.

I went in lunch time Monday 10 Aug. The gentleman who served was not encouraging, seemed to be more concerned I signed the Covid 19 pad. The place had been decorated but work needs to be done on the gents. The beer (Tetleys bitter) at £2 a pint was sour, almost undrinkable. I left after that pint. Will be a while before I go back in. Even then it will be for the gents first. One star from five.

Am only writing this to warn others of the dreadful place it is.Young yobs frequent the main door begging for money, cigarettes and drink. Too many drunks, and staff don't care.I went in once... never again. I cam out alive but scarred.The Council need to close it down.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool's promenade (approx 1/2 mile) is this large pub on the corner. There is lots of room for groups and it's very cheap, £2 for a pint of carlsberg.On the sunday night we were there it was mainly locals

Place has gone downhill since i went in few year's ago. 6 people in there one night. And that included guy behind bar. Smells of stale beer. Won't be goung in there again unless the change

Really big pub so it looked rather empty every time you went in (which we did twice). The first barman looked like he'd lost a fiver but the second was much friendlier and made you feel more welcome. Ladies loos could do with a refurb.

I have lived 3 minutes round the corner from this pub for 26 years and sadly it is a shadow of its former self. It used to be one of the best, if not the best, venue for rock music in Blackpool with capacity audiences and a great atmosphere. Sadly that has all gone and it is almost empty now most of the time when I pass it. It does not do real ale but as others have said the prices are cheap. It is a lovely old fashioned pub and a beautiful building and in the right hands could be splendid once again. A real shame.

Went in before going to a gig at the Waterloo used to come here regular Saturday night 25 years ago looked like theyd not updated it since.Beer was cheap though

Hands down one of the best local bars in Blackpool and one of the cheapest down south shore. Family run business trying to build it's self back up from the ashes of the previous bewrey ruining the local band trade.

Popped in on a Saturday night. Karaoke in progress. Place was empty apart from some strange drunks. Yuck. Avoid.

No nos dieron ningún tipo de bienvenida en el bar, no por favor, gracias o incluso una sonrisa se acercaba desde el personal del bar - lo opuesto de hecho que no podíamos entender por qué. Las bebidas se echaban dirección afrontó - mi Guinness era dibujado en un golpe en un cristal, mientras que Smith mis socios de Coca Cola habría sido decenas de vodka con coca-cola si no hubiéramos interrumpí abruptamente, y no había hielo y cuando pedimos ofrecieron mismo fue recibida con una stony mirando. Yo simplemente no entiendo por qué nos tratan con tal animosidad, fue el primer pub nos fuimos después de un largo paseo y estaban deseando una bebida agradable, al final, nos dejaron sin acabado la nuestra. El pub en sí es grande, pero en condiciones pobres y decoración limpieza. Tripadvisor parece pensar este pub sirve comida, no creer que no
