Don't be put off by cosmetic damage to wood and paintwork. The linen is sumptuous, bathroom immaculate. I have stayed there 3 nights and only heard a siren for the first time today. No airplane, pub or train noise to speak of. Asda has almost anything you need if you've forgotten something. Iron, ironing board, kettle, hairdryer provided. They lent me cutlery as I took to buying salads from Asda and left my stuff at work. I used their fridge as there are none in the room. It's spacious and cosy downstairs. TV up and downstairs. Checked in 5 months later - for 4 nights, had room 103. Worried because it overlooked high street. Slept really well, enjoyed my stay and looked forward to coming back the following week. The room had been warm and comfortable. Arrived 20 January - given room 208 - half a pane of glass missing! Next level up in the building so had to leave bags, go downstairs, explain the problem, given 212. It feels smaller than 103. I do feel downgraded. I think the room is averaging £122 per night - disappointed.

Nice location but everything is pretty basic. Rooms are small but clean. Parking is in the Asda car park and is £5 for 24 hours.

Location is great but rooms smells like you are in a stable..it is clean but smell is a killer, all clothes and my hair smell led like a stable..breakfast included was dissapointing. In the evening we ended up going to sleep at 11 pm as was so much noise you could hear from outside that kids were scared someone will get in the room as they were able to hear drunk people from outside to neat bars.. Will never come back to bad location is great and we spend £120 for one night..

Smack in the middle of town. No carpark, but you can use the Asda which is very close by. Staff very friendly and informative. Rooms are immaculate.

Very dated, needs an uplift location is central, but again in an ever depleting town. The menu, is anything you can probably microwave, or fry. Reasonable for the price.

The staff are super rude and their services are absolutely disgusting. They don't know how to speak to people, behave like some savages to you and treat you like some animals. The staff needs to be trained mainly how to speak to people in the first place, then manners then customer service. Disgusting service.

Absolute nightmare tbh, understandably busy this time of year but it felt like we was in a YOUTH CLUB, kids were running absolute riot in there. It was My first time in there and I was so shocked! There was No care or consideration for other diners atall. And to top it off The food was shocking.. I could have made the dishes that we had better at home ! Prawn starter?? Really ? I got tiny shrimps not Juicy succulent prawns ! It was shocking and a massive let down. Waiters and Waitresses were so sweet though, they are all so young and inexperienced….I felt sorry for them! Get some decent management in there !

I've been here a few times now and the service is spot on. They are welcoming, accommodating to dietary needs and clearly want you to have a good time. The food is good. It's not the 'best' but you're not paying for the best either... The food however is always good - tasty and cooked well. It's a really save bet and you're guaranteed to have a great time.

The little beer shed has changed hands and is now a mini bakery outlet selling some quite good bread, coffee and baked snacks. I hope that Ales and Tails mobile operation is still out and about.
