Great weekend spot for both beer and food. Steak great option. Worth a visit

First nice day of 2025 we, the girls( all over 50) decided to go for a country drive and have lunch out together, just because… we decided to try this lovely country pub which did not disappoint. It was warm and welcoming as we entered. Our servers were Liz and Steff who were both lovely and welcoming. We were not harried to order and enjoyed a drink until we ordered. Our food arrived piping hot and looking delicious in 20 minutes. We lingered over desert and another drink and a very enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Steff made paying very simple and quick so we decided to have another drink and the visit really made our day.

The food was fantastic. I got a burger and it was amazing, fries are perfect for a stop and take a break day. Very relaxed atmosphere and everyone I encountered was super friendly and accommodating!

The staff was nice and the atmosphere was ok but the food was quite bad. Also the glasses smell like eggs. Wouldn't really recommend

One of the best if not the best Sunday roast in London. The chicken especially is amazing, very succulent and well seasoned. The vegetables and potatoes are cooked to perfection. The portion also is large. Came here twice with one of the parties being a coeliac and never had any problems, they even have gluten free beer. Professional and friendly staff. Will keep coming back to this local gem for sure!

Me encontré con este lugar mientras buscaba un lugar para comer. Estaba escondido en una zona residencial tranquila, pero honestamente puedo decir que no he disfrutado de una comida tanto en meses. Mi amiga y yo elegimos las chuletas de cordero y el pan plano con una pinta de cerveza, y el sabor fue increíble. Buen ambiente, sin música alta, simplemente fácil y tranquilo. Sin duda volvería.

Insanely good and healthy lamb chops!

The food was quite good, as was the ambience and service. The portions were okay too.

The beer didn't taste right our whole group had beer that was not right. I tried two larger before having to move to cider which was good. The pub is nice and staff. Prices a bit high but probably due to location

Had a great time at the Running Horse with a good choice of chicken wings really crispy chips and a refreshing drink. The environment was very friendly and calm.

It is a nice pub but the service and food was mediocre. The beer however is pretty good!

Tiene que ser uno de los mejores almuerzos sin fondo en los que he estado y he estado en abundancia en Londres. El prosecco fue completado hasta el borde constante y uno de nosotros se actualizó a cócteles por £ 10 donde se puede conseguir 5 cócteles en Londres por este precio. Pero gracias especiales a Marco que fue más allá y estuvo constantemente cuidando de nosotros en todos los sentidos. No puedo esperar a volver

I organised a birthday meal here. I gave them a ring and spoke to Katie. Katie was wonderful to deal with. There was 15 of us in total. The food came at a great pace. I enjoyed my lamb flatbread and fries. The portion of olives was great. There's a 4 for £28 offer on the small plates. The place was well run, the toilets were clean and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Dropped in with some friends and was very impressed with the food and the staff would definitely recommend.

Nice Father's day treat . Food was great . For us just lacked a bit of atmosphere , but we will be back .

This place has an INCREDIBLE Sunday roast and the service is attentive, kind, and efficient. Our server was lovely and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this pub to anyone in the area. If you are lucky enough to get in for their Sunday roast you will NOT be disappointed

Lovely venue with outside seating in smart residential area. Waitress was impatient & unhelpful with wine selection & a little pushy when ordering drinks and paying the bill. Bottle of white wine was served at room temperature. We asked for a chilled one and they obliged no problem. We ordered a roast. Portions were varied, chicken was delicious, leg & breast. Beef was well done which was fine by us. Butternut Wellington was tiny but tasted good. Veg was tasteless, yorkshire was ok as were the roast potatoes. No salt or pepper with food, had to ask for sauces as these were not offered either. Wouldn’t recommend getting your Sunday roast here. Lovely for after work drinks or a quiet alfresco glass of wine with friends at the weekend.

Vi tog oss till Puben Running Horse och valde en meny med 3 rätter. Förätten blev en soppa och sen en klassisk fish and chips och efterrätt chokladkaka med grädde. Kul att äta Pub mat när den är vällagad och god och i den miljön! Trevlig stämning och glada skratt samt service inriktad personal gör att man mår bra!!

Dog-friendly pub with a nice lunch menu. Staff was very friendly and chill about me bringing my dog indoors on a leash and working on my laptop, after I asked for permission before I entered the pub. Rotisserie chicken was tender and the peri peri sauce was scrumptious! Thanks for making my day!

Nice decor inside but not overly impressed otherwise. We booked a table but on arrival the lady was completely uninterested and not really listening. She just pointed us to empty tables saying to take whatever didn’t have a reservation on it without even checking our booking. We thought the drinks were overpriced for a pub. £31 for a glass of white wine, single g&t, cider and beer. We ordered some bar snacks too. They were ok but quite oily. The calamari and even the nachos left a pool of oil at the bottom of the tray.

Good simple food. The location is great for big groups. It isn’t a charming atmosphere but they did a good job to make it feel like a pub.

Along with 5 of my friends I attended the Running Horse in Aldgate for their Sunday Bottomless Brunch. Our table was booked for 1pm on Sunday 11th February and we were welcomed by our Super Friendly Waiter, Marco on arrival. Our table was in a great location and we had ample room for 6 Portly Gentlemen. The Prosecco started to flow immediately and after placing our food order, the more than generous potions for all 3 corses arrived promptly. Marco proved to be extremely efficient throughout the afternoon and a splendid time was had by all. We will definitely be back.

A great neighbourhood pub, with fresh and good value food. Management is friendly and the venue has a nice outlook over the green space outdoors.

Perfect stop for walkers. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious as always. Very thankful I was able to substitute ice cream for custard with dessert. Steak was beautifully cooked (you can ask for sauce to be separate). Loved being able to try the ales. Loved the dog friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed our brief but delightful dinner here. Food was perfectly cooked and delicious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating - could be due to the cute doggy we had in tow. They are dog friendly and happy to help with most things. Happy to visit again and try other desserts.

Lovely pub! I brought my university society to this pub on short notice as our previous plans were cancelled. The staff kindly allowed us to use a small section of the pub for ourselves. The food came quickly and was delicious. The pub was really clean, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were super friendly!

Went for the bottomless brunch. Was great service food was good and best but my drink never went empty. Would be good if it was more than prosecco but good value for money compared to others.

Whenever I am in the area I pop in. Flawless service, nice ambiance, ample outside space, nice food and you can order off menu cocktails which is a great bonus. Highly recommended!

We went for a couple of drinks and some bar snacks. The food was lovely, and everything was reasonably priced for that part of London. We popped in for a mid afternoon snack and drink, so it was fairly quiet but not in a bad way. A nice outdoor area too so well worth a visit!

The bar has a traditional and elegant decor, and offers a wide range of drinks. They also have some tasty snacks and light meals. Located near St. Katherine's dock, stone's throw away from my workplace so I often visit with my colleagues for after work drinks. I often find it crowded due to its prime location but somehow always manage to get seats. I found the staff to be courteous and professional, and maintaining fast and efficient service even on busy hours. I'd definitely recommend trying.

Booked this venue for a large gathering and they (led by Peter) put on a great event for us. Really easy to organise with them, great service, atmosphere and food and even on the hottest day of the year, they had a nice cool interior! Great spot whatever your reason for visiting!

It's a nice independent (I think) place. Very empty on a Saturday night which is a shame. But perhaps because it's student holidays (student accommodation next door) and a bank holiday. Nice staff and decent beers. Will go back.

I ordered a drink and as I sat down and placed it on the table outside, the table was wobbly and the glass tipped over. I asked the staff if they could refill my glass but I was charged for another drink. I won't visit again, these things happen and if felt there was a lack of consideration for the customer

My friend and I enjoyed a bottomless Sunday roast. The food was delicious and the staff were extraordinarily attentive, topping up our glasses whenever they were nearing half-empty. One of my best bottomless experiences to date.

This pub is not great. The food, specifically the miso fish and chipotle chicken burger, was seriously overcooked. The fish turned out dry, and the burger was just a burnt bun with a tiny piece of chicken. Plus, we waited a painful 40 minutes for our meal. I'm giving them two stars, though, because the waiter was nice. But honestly, there are better places to grab a bite in this area.

I went to the running horse pub for a get together with my friends and to have a meal I must say it was brilliant had a really good time staff was friendly and made me and my friends feel really welcome food was good and cocktails was very cheap had a real good time would recommend it to family to go there I was told by the staff to leave a review so I thought why not Ed the bar member and I think he said the chef who was working that night was Melissa will deffo go back

Just hosted a corporate event at the running horse and the team were super helpful when planning and throughout the event. Such a nice outdoor terrace to host the event, pre-ordered food was great and everyone had a good time. Thanks everyone for your help!

The place is very nice. It has outdoor tables ideal for sunny days. Everything was impeccable and the service was fast and efficient. Affordable prices. The food disappointed me unfortunately, fair portions, on the small side. The fries were like super defrosted ones and even the portions were cut very small. The rabas were good, rich, with an interesting, original filling. We also ordered hummus, a good portion, but the quality of the hummus cream was questionable.

Went with family and had an amazing experience! The hostess was great and we had a nice laugh! The food however, was utterly superb! We were in awe of our drinks which were divine! Definitely with the price for the amazing customer service and food! We'd definitely go again :)

The atmosphere was good for midday lunch in town and service was good. But the burger meal was waaaay too much for what you got...and I don't mind spending money for good food at all but you did walk away feeling you were a little ripped off with the burger meal.....the other dishes looked nice for sure. Just don't get the burger and fist full of fries...

Me and my friend were here last week. The place was very clean and they had a good selection of drinks. The only weird thing was that the music wasn't really fitting for the atmosphere. It was almost like club music. But if that's what the people want, go for it

Worse experience ever. The manager is even worse his attitude and Customer service was shocking. If you’re in a group Don’t come here. Came for the bottomless brunch to celebrate a business with the girls. 11 of us and they were just rude from when we arrived. We can only believe it must be because of colour of skin but I Don’t even want to pull that card. But why else would we get a rude welcoming? Food wasn’t even worth it. Deadest roast dinner

This was a really nice, clean and modern pub in Aldgate East area. We had a table reserved for a birthday party and it made for an easy enjoyable time! It wasn’t too busy on a Tuesday night. They offered a great selection of wines and bears and the table decor was simple but cute! The prices were the usual London prices at around £6/7 for a glass of wine or beer

This was a great place to stop! Staff were super friendly, so welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Food as really nice, great quality and really well priced for what you were getting. Staff didn’t pester after eating it was a great experience and one I’d definitely return to! Thank you!

Went for lunch .asked for a table for food and drinks as soon as paid for the drinks in the bar I have been told that the chef is not around today and they won't serve food today .It was 12.30 on Friday.

hosted my boyfriends birthday here for sunday roast, staff were incredibly attentive and lovely!! food was also really great, pork belly starter in particular was amazing and the vegan burger was delicious!! the portion of the roasts were massive also! great value for money and once again the staff were really great! would love to come again some time soon xx
