Friendly staff, good selection of ales, great music and cracking value delicious pizza!

Was mobbed when we were in but service was swift and friendly and pizza was magic. Lovely place.

Nipped in here as an extra on our list of Old Fashioned pubs to visit, enjoyed it, a good straight up, old fashioned pub to go to for a pint. Staff were decent, atmosphere good, enjoyed the Catch Up with my pal, just what was needed. Good location, no probs.

Love that I stumbled across The Salisbury! This traditional pub may look small from the outside but don't be deceived! Great atmosphere and a bold selection of cask ales! Waiting for a train at Oxford and got a few minutes to spare then I'd highly recommend you bob down to The Salisbury!

Super place, super staff. Hadn't been in for 30+ years but it felt like coming home. Can't rate the food 'cos I didn't have any but the beer was first class.

So, I've been going to this pub on and off for about sixteen years now, and 8 can definitely say I love the place. The staff are fantastic. The atmosphere is always enjoyable, and the fact that it is waking distance from Manchester Oxford Road Station is a blessing. I would recommend this pub to friends and family.

Beautiful, very clean apartment with a comfortable bed in a prime location. We felt very comfortable and contact with the host was uncomplicated. Fast response times and good tips.

Great selection of ales and great music, friendly service too. Didn't have food but many others were having pizza which looked good so will try it next time.

What a superb place! Great choice of beers; pizzas were delicious (served in boxes so the pub still felt more like a drinking pub than a dining place, which is good!) Best of all, we’d just been to an event at the O2 Ritz & by showing our ticket we got a huge discount (I believe any city event would be valid) Superb atmosphere too. We'll come again 👍

Always loved this pub, it's a bit annoying that it's card payment only, but the choice of ales and the friendly staff still makes it one of my favourite pubs in Manchester.

Great time before a gig , staff were boss , drank trooper it was F-ing amazing, Morgan our bartender was great, very friendly and helpful. Was really amazing, great atmosphere, good for people who enjoy good music and good beer. Pool table was a pound, great pub all around , not enough praise given to the staff , Morgan was very very friendly and was great to chat too , highly recommend!!!

It's a fantastic Rock Pub, been going in on and off for years. Great place to call for a quiet drink if you're nearby in the day or a really good place at night with a great atmosphere. Good food (Pizzas) great beer and discounts if your off to a gig. It's card-only

This is a pub with a wide choice of beer that is kept very well. Probably the best beer you'll get. We got a few pizzas to help soak up the several pints we had.

I'm here now, it's lively, friendly, trouble free. The beer is great, the prices are good. The Salisbury is an absolute gem for the rock/metal/alternative Manchester community. I've been a customer here for 34 years, and counting.

Great juke box. The staff are fab. Been coming here for over 30 years. May be should reinstate cash payment as one or 10 friends won't come in now, which is a shame.

Called into this pub on the offs chance whilst heading down Oxford Street. Ordered a pint and a 14 inch pizza. This was on a cheaper mid week offer, I think. The barman was very pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent. A well enjoyed visit. I would definitely return. A nice old pub as well with good decor. A good place to visit for a nice pint and pizza.

I've always enjoyed The Salisbury over the years because of the great vibe and music played there.

Basic pub pizza. Quite busy at bar. No real atmosphere tbh. Used to go regularly for rock atmosphere but that seems to have gone now. Not sure if they are looking to appeal to everyone and not just the rock niche they had nailed

Left my phone here Friday 24 May on a rare night out. Phoned them Saturday and was told, yes they have my phone. Went to pick it up from a lovely staff member who had put my phone on charge. To the person who handed my phone in, thank you. To the staff at the Salisbury, thank you so much for for everything.

Short greasy long haired man behind the bar told my foreign friend to “speak English” when he tried to order a pint and impersonated his accent and laughed at him in a derogatory way. Will never come here again while he works here. Absolutely appalling and have contacted head office with no response yet hence the review.

Don’t come here if you are Asian. The short bartender will make it clear you are not welcome by racially abusing you. This bar has made it clear it is not an ally of the Asian community and the community is aware of its racist staff member which will be taken further. The community is tight and does not stand for this kind of behaviour.

Probably one of my favourite pubs in Manchester, the vibe is always so friendly in The Salisbury. Really good selection of drinks in a great location too.

If you love heavy rock then this is the place to come to in Manchester. Very busy with a mixed crowd. Bar service was quick even when so busy.

Was a regular here some decades ago and I'm pleased to say the place has changed since then. It doesn't look broken and soiled like it used to. Nice place on a Saturday afternoon - ticking over but not full. Clientele a mix of ages and musical leanings (patrons in the Salisbury often wear their music taste on their sleeve - literally) with folks eating, drinking and just having a sport-free afternoon in the pub. Bar star friendly and helpful. Music absolutely fantastic (mixture of American punk and UK post punk 'powerpop'). Spent a good few hours in there chatting about everything and nothing over a few scoops and a few bags of crisps. This old rocker had a great time.

Met up with friends today for a catch up. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good selection of beers and cider. Pizzas lovely - 8 of us. Had several of the 7" pizzas- margarita, ndjua, pepperoni, garlic bread- vegan with mushrooms. Goes without saying music is great 🤘🎸
