What an absolutely fabulous meal and service at lunch (11.01.25.) From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble, our train was delayed and they pushed our reservation back. Nico & team were pleasant and friendly but not intrusive. Where do I begin on the food & drinks the best we have all had. We all had a cocktail I can highly recommend the Savoy Grill Renaissance, I usually drink French Martini but this was a step up. We also order drinks not on the menu which was no problem. We had a French 75 it was delightfully fresh. We chose the a la carte menu and it did not disappoint. The sourdough and marmite butter blended effortless together with a toffee type taste. Our starters of steak tartare, the butternut squash veloute (mine) was so smooth, favour full especially with the mushrooms & apple pieces. Friends had steak tartare, salmon but the show stopper was the soufle that never collapsed, faulted in its consistency. For mains we had chateaubriand which was amazing! The rub and cooking of the chateaubriand was faultless. Friends had the superb beef wellington cooked to their choosing. The knives glided through the meat. All the sauces and side dishes were complimentary to our mains. We had a break between mains and dessert as we were full, no problem. We were then given a show by Nico on how to make flambé crepes its was great part of the lunch and tasted superb, you were able to taste the favour of the Grand Marnier, the orange came through but not overpowering for my taste. I shared the tart tatin and the apples were something else soft, sweet, and the salted caramel and ice cream was a mouthful of something special. Better than experienced in France. We finished off our trip in the American bar with final cocktails and coffee, I great way to finish an amazing meal. I cannot recommend it enough.

Lovely restaurant, Excellent service. Food was good, not exceptional. I had read about the Souffle Arnold Bennett that Gordon Ramsey had introduced. It was nicely made, good sauce but lacking in smoked haddock. My Dover sole was a bit dry which was disappointing. My wife's soup and steak tartare were excellent. A very expensive lunch which was OK but not memorable. Nice to do it but back to Rules next time.

From start to finish we were treated like we were very special guests. The staff cannot do enough for you, and their knowledge of the menu and every dish is fantastic. The food did not disappoint. I went for the beef wellington which was utterly amazing for the taste buds! A real treat. We were all impressed with our dishes. It was my mum’s birthday and she was brought out a beautiful chocolate gift which they boxed for her to take home too. Honestly this experience is a real treat and a must for any special celebration if you want to have perfect food and to feel special. Thierry and Santosh deserve an extra special mention. Their hard work and dedication to their jobs made my mums 70th birthday very very special. Thank you!

After reading a few reviews I was a bit nervous about booking, but I most certainly shouldn’t have been. From the moment we arrived we were given a very warm welcome, which continued throughout our meal. The staff were so warm friendly and helpful which really made our experience. The food was absolutely delicious and we left full to the brim. The atmosphere was sophisticated but one which made you feel at ease. The soufflé was a perfect way to start, moving onto the beef wellington which I’ve wanted to try at the savoy for years, and which certainly didn’t disappoint. Sublime. We finished our meal with a smashing tarte tatin to share which was very generously portioned. All in all I would heartily recommend for a special meal, in of course very special surroundings being at the Savoy. As you enter the Savoy you feel like you’re stepping into a wonderful bubble of good food and surroundings. Of course it’s not the cheapest place in London, but I have no qualms about that for a special treat of a meal. All in all a terrific meal.

Had lunch here as in town for the darts, Staff were polite and reasonably quick with taking orders, The food was beautiful, as it should be as to what its costs and who’s restaurant I is. Salmon starter and beef wellington signature dish was had by me and my wife. Both really enjoyed it, drinks again are Expensive but again it’s what it is. Been there and tried it now so one off the list. Definitely worth a visit if you like This sort of experience. There is a service charge included in the bill so just be aware of it!

Thank you for making our Christmas day so special. Amazing food and service (it felt like we had our own exclusive waiter and nothing was any trouble). A live singer would have been a nice touch, which is what other venues have provided on Christmas Day, hence the 4 stars, but maybe I am being picky as the atmosphere was excellent complemented by the booth you kindly gave us.

The food was spectacular! We ordered the braised rabbit croquette and the smoked salmon for starters. Then the signature Beef Wellington for mains and a side of fries each. Surprisingly, we were quite full....it don't look like much but they were very generous on the fries which we appreciated. (Great fries by the way, it has a nice airy crisp to them and didnt feel heavy.) The food was perfect but the service? I'm not so sure. It wasn't bad but we didn't exactly feel welcomed. It seemed as if the staff questioned all our choices. We requested a side of smoked paprika seasoned fires each on the side for our beef wellington. The waiter asked if we are sure about that choice as there is "pomme puree" with the beef wellington. We are aware as we can see on the menu but "pomme puree" which is essentially mash potatoes taste very different to paprika seasoned fries. He might have been genuine but he kind of gave us a pretentious look with that. Also we had a waitress ask us for our drinks order. I wanted a sweet wine, I can tell its sweet because it says in the description. The waitress asked if I'm sure because its a dessert wine. I am also aware but she also seemed to give a pretentious look. Again, they may think they are trying to take care of us but we are aware of the costs and spending the money, it would be nice to not be questioned and get judged about it. The service charge was quite high. We actually opted out of it. The waiter seemed very surprised. We don't mind paying the service charge but we actually think they did the bare minimum. If we weren't questioned then we probably would have considered paying half.

food Main course of signature Beef Wellington and Pan-fried Cod with Spinach Wraps The steak is so tender that even a non-steak eater like me would want to take another bite. The mushroom sandwich with puff pastry and filling makes me want to eat another roll just by asking. The cod and spinach rolls are just average. The price is higher than the steak. They taste very ordinary and have no special features. For appetizers, I ordered pumpkin soup and cold cuts of smoked salmon. The thick soup is very sour. I personally don’t like it. Cold cut salmon was average Not as good as the cold smoked salmon at Pineapple Market I chose apple pie for dessert because the portions are quite large. There were so many desserts that I almost couldn’t eat them all, but to be honest, they were still delicious. The ingredients are very practical and very sweet and delicious. The crust is moderately soft and hard The service is average and the environment is suitable for dating I think I would give this restaurant 4 stars because of the steak But the price of other food is not worth it

An impressive menu that impressed everyone with its creativity, quality and perfect craftsmanship! • Appetizer (teriyaki-glazed pork knuckle and foie gras terrine) The combination of tender braised pork knuckle with a sweet and spicy teriyaki glaze and the rich, velvety foie gras terrine was simply sublime. The flavors harmonized perfectly and the sophisticated presentation made this appetizer a real highlight. • Main course (Beef Wellington with side dishes) The Beef Wellington was a masterpiece: golden brown and crispy on the outside, perfectly tender and pink on the inside. The side dishes, especially the creamy potato component and the caramelized chicory, rounded off the dish perfectly. The sauce was intense and full of flavor – a successful main course that lived up to the highest standards. • Dessert (truffle ice cream in a waffle cone) A truly extraordinary conclusion! The truffle ice cream was incredibly creamy and had a subtle, subtle truffle note that harmonized perfectly with the delicate waffle. A bold yet elegant combination that left a lasting impression. This menu was a thoroughly successful experience, impressing with its perfectly balanced flavors and impeccable presentation. Absolute recommendation! Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour for our table, which unfortunately dampened the anticipation somewhat at the beginning. Conclusion: An absolute culinary highlight, but the service should be optimized when organizing reservations.

A nice initial impression, but food very mediocre, the cheese soufflé was ok but strong smell and taste of the fish with it was extremely off putting, the beef wellington was nice, but the potato puree had no truffle in it but a raw shallot on top instead and was similar to hospital mash. Coffee was lovely but should be at £13 a cup, a very expensive meal with a £40 service charge disappointing, I would not return.

I bought vouchers on the website for the grill tasting experience. I paid what they charged. The earliest table available was 9pm, but it wasn’t ready so sent to the American Bar to wait which was no problem. We were informed 25 minutes later the table would be ready in another 5-10 minutes. We specifically asked whether that translated to get another drink or realistically wait for wine at the table. No, get another cocktail. 10 seconds later the table is ready. Ok. No sign of anyone bringing the drinks up and then downstairs for us despite the table now being 30 minutes late. The wine list is ridiculous. It’s either £65-90 a bottle or £1000s a bottle. Mid range doesn’t exist. Food was nice, nothing great but not bad. Service was polite but dismissive - had to pour our own wine and they gave up after the first glass of tap water. The kicker was the bill. The set menu for which I bought vouchers, from them, was apparently £10pp more expensive. When I asked why, I was told, maybe it’s because it’s Christmas. I bought these vouchers direct from the Savoy/Ramsay. I paid what they charge. I bought them as a present for my sister. They clearly didn’t expect the purchaser to be a guest. To add extra for unsuspecting guests purely because their meal is prepaid is outrageous. With the 15% service charge, the extra, unexplained charge, donations etc a present becomes quite expensive. This place is clearly catering for tourists and residents of the hotel that hopefully have more money than sense. Such a shame that Ramsay’s in Hospital Road is so good but apparently he’ll put his name to any tripe these days.

I am disappointed with this restaurant. Although the atmosphere and location is outstanding, I think this restaurant is part of a wider trend where the owner believes that it is enough to have a designer for your venue and some standardised gourmet dishes to be successful. I have 0 reasons to go back there. The food was OK, but servings were ridiculously small (even for gourmet standards…), and the taste was not unique. Prices as expected very high. Additionally the manager did not even help my wife to wear the coat after brining it from the cloakroom. I have been eating at luxury restaurants since I was born, I am not convinced about this. Of course this is just my personal experience.

I love the savoy but am trying to be honest as it’s a new restaurant. The staff are amazing here, can not fault! Very attentive and helpful. The one thing that let it down was the fact that the menu is not explained well and is not self explanatory, some items are enough for one. Others are meant to share but you arnt to know this looking at the menu. The tikka pie tastes amazing but only comes along as a single giant pie enough for 3 people with some peeled raw carrot and cucumber, whilst the burger on same ‘big plate’ section was just a regular sized burger with chips for one. The Mac and cheese was very nice, but again enough to share between 2 or 3 despite being on the peckish/grazing menu which we took as smaller dishes and were told could act as starters.. The pizza was a normal sized pizza however was not my favorite, didn’t taste amazing considering the establishment. The Mille feuille desert finally had (serves 2) in brackets which helped, however it would have easily served 3 and I think would be better with chocolate glaze instead of a stick of hard chocolate on top as it is as it’s a lot of the same flavour else. The decor is beautifully done and it has a lovely atmosphere, it just wasn’t clear as to what you were ordering or how the menu was supposed to be similar to tapas and shared, and there was little indication as to how big or small things were, items are separated into ‘pekish’ ‘grazing’ and ‘big plates’ however after ordering items from each I have no clue what the difference was meant to be, and it isn’t clear when reading menu. Some simple explanations on menu would be very helpful !! Otherwise a lovely place.

As usual the service was absolutely amazing and made even more special by the special attention given to us by our fabulous waitress Ione. She was excellent. Extremely personable and very attentive. We always enjoy the savoy so don’t go anywhere else as it beats all the others hands down. See you in the new year.

Wonderful remodeling, wonderful food and great service. It would have been nice to not be reminded of the allotted time allowed so many times but we understand there are other reservations and we did go over our reservation about 17 minutes. But we were reminded about 20 times from the time we sat down. We were Very aware from the first time being told. But when the bill is over 800£ i’d expect a more chill environment regarding that. Otherwise everything and everyone was lovely and I would HIGHLY recommend going to the Savoy for everything they offer. ❤️

Unfortunately I can only agree with the previous reviews. It is absolutely overrated. The Beef Wellington only tasted like truffles and not in a good way. The taste of the mashed potatoes was ok, but the consistency was bad. It appears to have been made with a wand rather than tamped - a huge paste. The spinach was hard and not seasoned. Without the delicious Rabitroll I would award even fewer points. And the staff did NOT ask if and how you liked it. Very unfortunate and very disappointing. Addendum - a day later we were at 45 Jermyn St. Here the beef Wellington, potatoes and vegetables were great.

The soup that we took as starter was too sweety and you cant even taste mushrooms. Beef wellington was not a beef wellington, they changed the covering part with mushroom-chicken pate which was disgusting. Beef was good but if we wanted to eat only beef we did not eat this waste. Christmas puding was bad. Only one good thing was souffle, it was tasty. Service waiters were kind and good, however water glass they bring to the table was dirty, we asked them to change it this time they brought another less dirty ne glass which i let it go. I never been there this was the first time. Maybe it was a good restaurant in the past but it does not worth right now.

I was there for afternoon tea and a visit after their recent renovation. The hotel and the dining room are beautiful, but the tea itself did not live up to the memories I had of it from living in London many years ago. It was nice food and tea but not sure it was worth the $130 per person. Maybe once just to experience it again but probably not for a while.

Afternoon tea at the newly opened Gallery was excellent. Francesca looked after us superbly explaining what everything was and what our choices were. Various packages range from the afternoon tea to other Les such as adding champagne and some main meals in the middle. There’s even a vegetarian choice. Service as I’ve said was outstanding. For tea lovers there are 3 pages of teas from black to green and fruit varieties. All served on Savoy Gallery plates echoing the lantern roof in the middle of the room. Sandwiches and savoury treats are first and the sweet offering of deliciously rich chocolate, scones, festive mince pies and cream, jam and lemon curd. Tea topped up all through listening to the lovely pianist. In the evenings there is often a singer.

Fantastic treat. Refined luxury as we had hoped. Service was wonderful- just the right balance between being attentive and not being intrusive. A special mention to Rebecca who looked after us- she will sail through her training at this rate and is a credit to the Savoy. Mention also to the wonderful pianist.

The new gallery is beautiful but they have massively increased the number of tables and they are now incredibly close together so you can hear everything people are talking about on the tables next to you which makes it a little uncomfortable. Also the new table arrangement means someone is facing a wall whilst the other gets to enjoy the beautiful decor of the room. Previously tables were spaced out and everyone on the table got a decent view with how tables were angled. The food however remains impeccable. Delicious afternoon tea treats and amazing selection of teas.

MORE AT OpenTable

The Thames Foyer at the Savoy no longer exists which is a shame as we have spent many happy hours there over the past 11 years and on over thirty separate occasions. Now The Gallery has replaced it which we are told has been many months in planning and execution. It looks superficially very stunning, light and bright with comfortable chairs, however the tables are much smaller as are the plates. You are now sat incredibly close to other guests and, as a result of this, your conversations are no longer private. This was previously never a problem and privacy was one thing you were guaranteed at the Thames Foyer. Overall it is noisier too. There are more tables and fewer staff who are working incredibly hard to serve you, but all they can actually do is bring food and drink to the tables. For the first time we were expected to pour our own tea rather than be served, this would have been ok if the teapots actually poured but none did and every time we filled our cups we risked scalding ourselves with hot fluids. As it is, the tablecloth became soaked. The sandwiches were delicious, the breads were soft and fresh and interesting. Tasty fillings and also different savoury bites made this course absolutely fantastic. They were very generous with refills too. The scones have not changed, nor has the jam, curd and cream options. The pastries were very similar to any you get at this type of afternoon tea and overall quite bland but pretty enough. The Savoy is not one of the easiest locations to get to. Now all its previous unique service for afternoon tea is no longer on offer customers can choose to go anywhere else for an identical afternoon tea experience across London at a similar price point. A lot will come down to personal preference but I do not think overall that the Savoy’s refurbishment has been worth waiting for and I am not in a hurry to return. This is a shame as the staff are lovely and willing to serve, they just no longer have the opportunity to do this.

It was my wife’s birthday so we went to the Savoy Grill for lunch to celebrate. Nearing Christmas there were beautiful decorations in the Savoy lobby. We were greeted and coats taken, showed to our table and served drinks. Having ordered our starter and main, we enjoyed the atmosphere Given bread and some butter, we didn’t wait too long for our first course. Delicious of course, our drinks were topped up regularly. Mains were so yummy we both finished everything and looked forward to our deserts. All our food was presented in good time, looked amazing and was very delicious. My wife was presented with a chocolate wishing her a happy birthday. Being a fan of Gordon Ramsay, my wife asked to see the kitchen and we were shown around. We were so impressed by the efficiency of each section, and the chef chatted with us. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and we have decided to come back. We look forward to seeing you a few times a year. Richard & Maxine

We loved our afternoon tea! We’re both a little fussy and the staff always cater for our needs (swapping sandwiches to ones we prefer with no issues). The new layout is lovely, my only concern is the tables are not as spacious as they were previously and the gap between tables isn’t too big, it would be nice to have a little more room as previously (before renovations) I believe the table size and space around was one of the best things about the gallery. We will always re visit though as it is still such a good experience.

Celebrated my daughters 18th with family and friends. The venue was perfect (decorated fabulously by @360legends), with a professional team and first class service. From booking the venue, to answering queries, to service on the evening I can not fault Dave or his team. The security, the bar staff and Dave himself were attentive and professional. Great food (we had the BBQ), great drinks, and a brilliant playlist (although that was my daughters doing!). We will definitely be back.
