The food was good, i ordered chicken madras which was delicious, however, unreasonable chapati price, around £4 for small portions of chapati. My experience with staff has been awful, a grumpy old age man took our order, he looked so annoyed, my husband asked him about the menu and he seemed irritated with any questions. Food was good but staff is rude.

We had an amazing dinner. The food was delicious and the service provided was very professional. Particularly Yash, he was very kind and nice.The atmosphere was very pleasant with light music in the background which allowed us to have conversations.We will definitely come back again!

Great restaurant by the tower bridge. I had dinner here twice in a row and it was good but time, but the lamb shank I had the first time was outstanding. The service was very good and it did not take long to get the food. As far as prices go, it is not cheap at all, especially the drinks which i thought were overpriced. I still recommend it though.

I had a great experience and amazing food and atmosphere.

"Disappointing and Discriminatory Experience" I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant, but my experience was ruined by the dismissive and, frankly, discriminatory service. Even though we were the first customers there right when they opened, we were immediately questioned about having an appointment in an empty restaurant and then told we could only stay for an hour. This rigid and unwelcoming approach made us feel uncomfortable, and the attitude of the servers was off-putting. As an Asian customer in an Asian restaurant, I expected a welcoming environment but instead felt singled out and dismissed. To make matters worse, the food was average. The fried rice was nothing special, tasting more like a simple rice pulao. I hope management considers training staff to ensure every customer feels valued, regardless of their background. A dining experience should feel warm, welcoming, and inclusive, and unfortunately, this experience was far from that. Reply for your Response : Your excuse about reservations is hollow—there were no other guests when I was there. Stop playing the victim and address the blatant racial discrimination I experienced. It's clear your staff, especially the male members, need proper training in respecting all customers. Asian patrons, like anyone else, deserve to be treated with dignity. Unfortunately, your dismissive attitude reflects poorly on your establishment and undermines the essence of Indian hospitality. I won't be dining here again, as no one should have to endure such treatment.

Great food and very friendly staff

I recently visited this restaurant with a few friends for a light dinner, and our experience was disappointing. Despite arriving an hour before closing, the staff seemed annoyed at our presence. When we asked about the menu, they explained it in an unpolite and hurried way, making it clear from their tone that they didn’t want to serve us. The lack of respect and poor customer service made us feel unwelcome. I expect a basic level of courtesy, but unfortunately, it was lacking here.

I have eaten here many times over recent years. Always my 1st choice when in central London! Food always fantastic and friendly staff. All the common/standard dishes I've had were great. Two standout dishes I have had more than once are Khala Lamb Bhuna and Dhakar Murgh. Both seem fairly unique to this place, as never seen them anywhere else.

My third visit and amazing as always. Absolutely loved the samosas, bhajis and lamb chops combo for starters. The mains of lamb rezala, king prawn bhuna, and numerous other dishes with some choice sides (sag, tarka daal, Bombay spuds etc were just spot on. Everyone left satiated and smiling, so says it all. Well done team!

When we arrived, the restaurant was very busy, but the staff were very courteous and welcoming, food was amazing and the service was very good. I would highly recommend.

Lovely place for an evening out. A social and friendly environment. I went with my family and we absolutely loved it. The food was amazing and the pricing was good. I’m not fond of spicy food but the waiters noted that and had the food made milder for us. Would definitely go again, a new favourite.

Food was outstanding, with rich flavours and great quality across the board. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and efficient. If you're after a solid Indian dining experience, this place is definitely worth checking out.

No value for your money. Terrible service, the manager is very rude. The food is average the prices are very high, minimum of 15 pounds, the restaurant has a rule, where a person must be a main dish. Indian food is about sharing but it seems different Indian style where guest have to follow a compulsory rule.

I visited this restaurant with a group of work friends. Nine of us in total. (Majority of us black). The waiters were fine at first and got us a large table to accommodate us and took our orders. 1 x bad customer service When the staff started bringing out our food, there was only one piece of Naan bread. So we only assumed that the rest was on its way. Half way through eating our dinner, we asked where the rest of the naan was. And the waiter said that the chef has now turned off the oven and will no longer be serving Naan. There was a big group of South Asian men who were eating Naan bread. Plus a white couple who were also eating Naan. I said that is fine could you take off the 8x Naan breads we ordered off our bill please? The waiter soon changed his mind and said "Okay, okay we will bring you naan." 2 x poor customer service Half of us had not finished eating, and the waiter kept standing behind us and kept asking if he could clean the table. So we started giving empty plates. As that is what we all thought he wanted. And then a couple minutes later, the waiter asked again if he could clean the table. I explained that there were no more empty plates. The waiter then said, "No, I want to wipe the table." So I said, "Would it not make sense to wipe the table down after we have left? What is the rush?" I simply could not comprehend why we should have to get up to allow the waiter to clean the table. It was clear that we hadn't all finished eating, so there was a massive chance that we would have dirtied the table again. Furthermore, not a single server approached the large group of Asians or the table of white couples to urge them to get up so they could clean. And then the waiter came back and asked again. So I said, "How can you expect to clean the table if half of us are still eating?" The waiter then said, "Oh, well, you can stand up and i'll clean your area." I just ignored him from this point. I just think some Asians do not respect black Caribbean/African people. The way they talk and treat us, even us black British people, as if we are lower then them? It's unfortunate for me that I now have to be more selective when choosing which Asian restaurant I dine at. As I simply do adore eating korma......with naan bread lol

There was less than average quality meals. There was less food in relation to the cost of the meal. It was a boring atmosphere. Serving wasn't what the waiter wanted to do.

Cutlery placing not correct, chicken biryani is just chicken fried rice, dull monotonous music in background - staff and manager denied to change it upon customer request.

Brilliant food and service in a nice environment. Pleasant staff and we didn't have to wait long for food to be prepared. I came here with work colleagues after a busy day at work. What I also liked was that we stayed for hours chatting, and we didn't feel forced to eat and leave quickly. I would definitely recommend the Shad. Thank you for a nice experience! M. M. Average food and service but giving 4 star on service bcoz of only one server who always smile on with true face and genuine smile ....credit goes to him which really let me think to leave 4 star on serive however the service is not good at all . Papad came when main course finish but all around is OK I am from the same hospitality background so never complain such easily it's a honest feedback so they can improve the food quality and improve the service for the better results.

One of the worst restaurants at London Bridge. They call themselves Indian restaurant but definitely not Indian, it’s 100% Bangladeshi restaurant being run as Indian. Freshly made mango lassi set the tone for a great meal. The chef was kind enough to accommodate my request for a dish that wasn't on the extensive menu. The service was excellent. We were a party of six with some dishes being shared and various types of rice and naan. Everything arrived together, the food was hot and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Yesterday i went to this restaurant with my family and for my experience the waiter behaviour made me fustrated, he is teaching me what the meaning of mild and medium and i have experience in restaurant as a manager for many years. The way of his body language and attitude making me so much fustrated and just come out from this restaurant because of his attitude and behavior. I dont have in my life such experience. Please I recommend this restuarant management to remove such a fellow as soon as possible otherwise it will effect the business....Thanks

Very rude behaviour of staffs.very bad service

My first time to eat talapia over last week, the young man gave me leaflet that's why I went there. I will definitely recomand any one coming around London tooley street, go and try you won't desapoint it.

I recently had the profound misfortune of dinning at this restaurant, and I can confidently say it was the worst experience of my life. From start to finish, this place was a catastrophic. We asked for water right after we sat on the table and the water never came. The table was organised as we sat down and ordered, the waiter just took the plates in front of us without explaining and then he brings out hot plates straight from the dishwasher. The lighting was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save your money, time, and sanity- eat anywhere but here.

Gran comida, gran personal y precio Tuvimos una excelente cena del domingo por la noche aquí con amigos. La carne era muy buena, las salsas donde no grasientas, las guarniciones todas saben diferente con fruta y especias también. El servicio fue con una gran sonrisa.

Estoy realmente fascinado con las comidas asiáticas. Así que siempre voy a encontrar restaurantes indios y nepaleses dondequiera que voy. Anoche estuve en el puente de Londres y encontré un restaurante indio mientras caminaba. Estaba desesperado por ir a comer. Normalmente como comida picante y normalmente voy a diferentes restaurantes cada semana para probar comida nueva. Fui al restaurante indio Shad alrededor de las nueve y media del 18 de junio. Luego le pedí al camarero que me ayudara a ordenar la comida. Además, le pedí el picante y me sugirió que probara Ajo Chili Lamb. Estuve de acuerdo con ello y hice un pedido. Tuve Puri de Gambas como entrada, lo cual no estuvo tan mal y más tarde, cuando probé a probar el Chili Lamb, me estaba quemando. Hacía mucho calor. Sentí como si hubieran vertido todos los chiles de la cocina en mi curry. Hacía demasiado calor y podría haberme enfermado. Nunca imaginé que la comida sería así. No había sabor en la comida y solo estaba caliente. La cosa es que como comida extra picante en cualquier lugar que voy, pero siempre está bien para mí. Pero esta vez no pude intentarlo por segunda vez. ¡Dios! Uno de los del servicio vino y me preguntó cómo estaba la comida. Cuando intenté decirle que la comida estaba locamente picante, fue tan agresivo. Dijo que era la comida característica del restaurante. ¿Cómo puede el ser humano comer comida caliente tan loca? ¿En serio? Necesitan aceptar si cometieron algún error. El camarero decía que amaba mucho ese curry y a todas y cada una de las personas les gusta y es la comida más famosa. Eso está bien si esa es la excelente comida pero estoy tratando de decir es que tuve una experiencia terrible con ese curry en particular. Pero nunca lo admitieron ni intentaron hablar con el chef sobre el curry. Hablé con uno de ellos para probarlo, pero no estaba listo para hacerlo. Todo el tiempo, intentaban defenderse. Estaba tratando de ser tan educado, pero fueron muy groseros conmigo directa o indirectamente. Está bien que ocurran errores, pero necesitan aprender el servicio al cliente. Me acabo de comer una cucharada de la comida y pagué toda la cuenta con 12. 5 % de cargo por servicio junto con su actitud amarga. Ridículo Por favor, encuentre un mejor restaurante con un buen servicio al cliente, incluso si la comida no es demasiado excelente.

La comida era peor y el personal tiene demasiada actitud el servicio es peor también y toman un alto cargo de servicio 12. 50 % . Personal descuidado. El entrante era bueno, pero lo principal fue muy malo. No tenía ni 1 cucharada de curry, le dije al personal sobre el curry, pero dijeron que era su comida de 5 estrellas y él cobra la cantidad total del dinero y no dio ningún descuento y agregan el cargo por servicio también 😂 y el servicio fue peor.
