Walked in and visited the toilet. Immediately after walking out I was followed by a member of staff with a goatee and long curly hair who then proceeded to accuse me of having thrown up in the toilet, going as far as to say he heard me heave which was simply not true as I had not had a single drop of alcohol. Tried reasoning with him but he said it's unfair that I'm making someone who makes "below minimum wage" (pretty sure that's illegal) clean up my mess. He asked me and my friend to leave which we of course did. Absolutely shocking way to treat customers, especially when we were very obviously sober and not wanting to cause any fuss. Do not visit this place, it's not worth your money.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and Aleighij made it perfect. She was very attentive and ensured that at our bottomless brunch we always had a drink, i couldn’t give her one fault at all. She was lovely and welcoming from the get go and her service was amazing, I would come back again due to her due diligence!

Very disappointing Bottomless Brunch last weekend. Our waitress clearly did not want to be there, she made us feel very unwelcome from the moment we arrived. We felt uncomfortable asking for more drinks, bearing in mind it was meant to be bottomless, it actually felt like she was avoiding coming over to our table so we were left with empty glasses a lot of the time! After 1 hour in, we had to ask if we could order our food as she hadn’t offered to take our food order at all! Very disappointed with what should have been a great afternoon for my sisters birthday!

We booked a two-hour bottomless brunch for my birthday and were excited for a fun afternoon, but the experience started off on a sour note. Upon arriving, we waited 20 minutes just to get our first round of drinks. The waitress serving us looked like she had no interest in being there, and every time we asked for another drink it appeared to be too much effort and we were left waiting far too long. She didn’t crack a smile the entire time, which made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming compared to previous bottomless brunches we’d experienced. The lowest point was being served rum and cokes minus the rum! after witnessing her talking to the bar tender with the order and high fiving it would appear this was done deliberately. When we complained, someone else stepped in to finish our brunch with quick service and a much friendlier attitude and face. She even added extra time to make up for what we’d lost earlier, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the poor service at the start left a bad taste in our mouths. I’ve been to many bottomless brunches before, and this was by far the worst service I’ve experienced. A disappointing start to what could have been a great afternoon.

In response to my partner’s complaint about poor portion sizes, I was actually given even less chips than him so what Slug and Lettuce have replied is a lie and even if my meal had been ‘over portioned’ that is not justification for giving him less or the server’s attitude and lack of apology. She was extremely dismissive and walked off without resolving our complaint. We just didn’t expect so little food for the price we paid.

Edit: More details I had a table booked for brunch at 11am, not too early but was one of the first people to arrive. The place was prepared for all the upcoming reservations. Both chairs I sat on were sticky, all the menus as well as the table. I went around to check out of curiosity and all the tables were - must be the cleaning method. By unfriendly, I mean that our only encounter with the staff was to show us our table (only hand gestures) and bring us our food and drinks (again using no words). The food was below average and the table, chairs, and menu were sticky. It was self service only and the staff were unfriendly.

Undercooked fish with handfull of chips. Staff told me to my face I have to pay for a new dish if I want more chips. Just go to spoons...

I came in with my Forster a long time, our waitress Kitty was an absolute delight and was attentive to all our needs when it came to food and drinks. Will he coming back!

As a first time bottomless brunch I really wanted to give a better review. Don't get me wrong, the waitstaff were very friendly, the drinks tasty and the food good enough. But paying £38 for what was essentially 3 drinks each / a meal which for me came 25 minutes (or more I really can't remember) too late. We managed to get a 4th drink only after being told "not yet" (at a bottomless brunch mind you) and having to haggle. To be fair our waiter/waitress (I'm not looking to get them in trouble) was super lovely and managed to snag our table another round (however I had to a little early). We managed to work out that it probably would've been cheaper to buy the food / drinks without the deal. The burger I had while quite good only had 1 rasher of bacon on it. It was excellent bacon but I'm sure the business wouldn't collapse if you threw in another one. It was very busy so I'm sure the staff were just under a lot of pressure, perhaps better to go at a less busy time. 3/5, would recommend but pick your location/time carefully!

Got served after others that came to bar. Watched the chap make our Long Island Tea cocktail which only had one measure of alcohol, 1/2 measure of sugar mixture and loads of ice and coke. Very poor.

Me and my husband went for brunch today and had a lovely experience. We were greeted by a lovely host Kitty who was helpful with the menu and how to order. When the food came it was well presented and tasted great! We also had our dog with us and is very pet friendly! Would definitely visit again

I was served by this lovely girl called kitty and friendly gentleman called dom. I asked what cocktails they would suggest and they suggested zombie which was fabulous.

I walked into Slug and Lettuce Riverside feeling disheartened and sour about the world and life. I wondered what would aid my ailing heart? And I found alcohol was the perfect antidote! After four espresso martinis, I suddenly felt rejuvenate with the world! No longer did my heart feel distraught at the prospect of a winter of Trump! No more was I plagued with the dreams of a world besotted by a galaxy wide jihad designed in my own mind, and forged in the eyes or my mother's multi-milenia old religious sect. In short, I was now the Messiah! Also, Katie is excellent and deserves a raise!

Had an amazing night out with friends in Reading town centre and i have to say how great our experience was at Slug and Lettuce. Our bartender, Kitty, was extremely friendly and chatty and of course made perfect cocktails, will definitely be returning soon :)

I dropped my wallet in the pub without knowing. Then the next thing I know a young fella tapped me on the shoulder and gave it back. After that drinks were on me. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and I will visit here again.

The service is slow and quite rude. I stood there for a while and they kept serving people around me even though there was apparently a “queue”. I kept my cool anyway but that was so annoying. Good thing they have QR codes on tables so just use those to order. The bar staff are rude. It’s pretty but loud so if you’re having a fun day out to party hard it’s worth it, if you want a drink and a chat then go elsewhere.

We visit slug and lettuce for my birthday - after seeing reviews from the oracle website that customer visits where down. staff where very unfriendly and seem like you where bothering them to serve you. Food was serve cold badly cooked ,and my wife found egg shells In her food. We ask one of the bar staff to call the manager 15 min waiting and I addressed a lady beyond the bar who confirmed that she was the manager- I asked if she was told by her staff that a customer wanted to speak to her!! She replied that she wasn't told by her staff and she didn't offer a apology for the wait . We told her of the food having egg shells In it, there was no apology just she would let the chef know. We were offered a refund but the staff or manager didn't go out there way to make things better - a very lack of customer service or care for customers. Our last visit I might aswell gone to Macdonald's for my birthday lunch .
