It's a tiny place, not a great deal of seating inside, outside the front has a little seating area, and the back there is far more. Most of the taps were off, but this could have been because of the football and how busy it was. Overall, it was a nice place and definitely worth a visit.

Nestled in the back streets of Whitstable and just a few minutes walk from the seafront, the Smack Inn is a true delight of a pub. With a cosy atmosphere, friendly locals, and attentive staff, this is a must for anyone who fancies a decent drink and some lovely food. There is also a jukebox that plays everything from Joni Mitchell to Beyonce. It's definitely one of the best pubs in the area

We found this fabulous pub in a backstreet in Whitstable by spotting the sign on a building in an alleyway off the high street. Great traditional pub. Clean with a great outside area. The menu was great, very reasonable prices. Lots of wine choices though no Chardonnay. The white rioja was lovely. Food was very good. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is the wooden cutlery. Usless for cutting food. I realise this is probably just for outside but it's a shame as everything else was great.

Tried this for a very late lunch/early dinner on a Tuesday afternoon. Was really nice to sit in the beer garden under a cover but of the deck with our dog, we needed the shade! We ordered lemon pepper squid, scampi and chips a side of sweet potato fries, the dressed crab salad (special) and a plain burger for our dog which came with chips. The squid was my favourite!! Scampi was also amazing as were the sweet potato fries! The dressed crab was very nicely down, just wasn't my thing (personal taste), my partner loved it. Burger was a flip, burnt and dry, even our not very picky dock didn't care for it. Chips were okay but didn't have more than 2 personally as we had enough food and I've had better before. Also had I mixed myself mocktails with sprite zero and Schweppes pineapple juice with some mint leaves (I was keeping it alcohol free and didn't want coke zero), my partner had a perfect Guinness. The also had dog treats (duck, venison boar and rabbit) and dog ice cream and pupsicles. We'll be going back here for sure. There is also a non smoking/vaping area in the beer garden. Helpful staff.

As noted by past reviews, Strictly no cycle policy and told to remove my bike which was tucked away in the garden area. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, Imho a bit of a rude response from the owner when said about being local but hey he was too interested getting back to watching the sport indoors rather than enjoying the live music. Rules are rules I guess. Have been coming to this bar throughout the many years I've lived here so local custom not valued... that all said I've seen this place turn from the dark pub and then closed up pub that it was back in 2015(??) to this nice bright pub with a lovely outdoor area.. again if you like sports then you can enjoy the many screens dotted around the place as well.

Comes with a beautiful sun-trap of a beach-like beer garden. The perfect place in summer to get away from the crowds on the beach. Also very customer-responsive. The football was playing on the screens outside and, to my mind, the sound was spoiling the ambiance and no-one seemed to be watching. I shared that with the landlady and asked if she could turn it off. She came out to check and immediately turned the sound right down, which seemed like a better compromise. Good stuff.

A great little pub hidden away in a quiet street between the beach and Whitstable High Street. We have visited this pub several times in the past and it has always been an enjoyable experience. The inside of the pub is quite small but very traditional and with its wooden floors and cosy decor it feels very welcoming. The main draw, however is its amazing beach themed beer garden. It has a roped off decking complete with a colourful beach hut style seating area plus a gravel 'beach' and a cool upturned boat in the corner to sit around. There are a few plants dotted around and little metallic buckets filled with sand for your cigarettes which further enhance the beach theme. There was a good selection of Shepherd Neame beers on offer, we opted for a couple of pints of San Miguel and Orchard View. They also serve food although on this occasion we didn't eat there, maybe next time we will try the food as we will definitely come back.

So on a rainy Sunday afternoon 6 of us stopped here for a pint and a meal. The beach hut garden looked promising, however, that’s as good as it got...as all food came to us in cardboard boxes. On the specials board was a prawn & lobster salad bap with chips - the amount of lobster was less than a small finger nail and could be picked out so we asked for more and a measly amount was offered again in a cardboard box - all for £13.90!!! 7 fish goujons and 12 chips, I asked for a roll which was brought on a paper plate. A brioche roll with so much margarine I had to scrape it off, killer was I was charged £2:10 for the luxury item.I could go on but you get the jist of my review.... in short, if you don’t mind having what the images on their website don’t show with measly portions and cheap ingredients then this is ok. This is not really a food pub.

In the center of the medieval Canterbury is an old and delicious restaurant named for the famous Trapiste, which serves typical Belgian food (although we are in England). This local place is a cross between a bar, a tea room, and a restaurant. In addition to a wide selection of beers, you can enjoy tasty dishes like the exceptional burgers served with homemade bread, or the special tea served with cream. The restaurant has a rustic feel, and each and every chair is a different style. The terrace is splendid, and there is even a gazebo, decorated with tiny lights, which make you feel like you are surrounded by stars in the midst of these beautiful medieval buildings.

Nice place but shame we weren’t allowed to sit there. As soon as we got in the guy said takeaway only. He was incredibly rude and told us it’s takeaway only many times whilst ordering as my kids sat down waiting for our drinks. He also told us the toilet was out of order which looking at other reviews, seems to be the case all the time! The drinks were ok, the lobster tails were not bad but service very poor. Wouldn’t recommend.
