Wands at the ready...🪄 This place is a dream come true for any fantasy lover! ✨ We sipped on sparkly potions, munched on snacks served in cauldrons, afternoon tea style towers, and even had chocolate frogs and magic beans! They are fab with gf & other dietary requirements too 🌱 ✨ We got creative making our own magic wands and painting adorable tea light holders. You can also make mythical creatures, decorate dragon eggs, the possibilities are endless! ✨ The staff are AMAZING! They're all fully in character, super helpful and so much fun. Just shout "Serviceio!" and they'll magically appear ✨ ✨ They even host parties with real-life owls and snakes! 🦉🐍 How cool is that?! ✨ The gift shop is overflowing with magical treasures. You'll definitely want to grab some souvenirs! ✨ This place is clearly made with so much love and passion for fantasy. It's the perfect escape for both kids and adults alike. Not an ad, just a 10/10 experience we couldn't help but share.

Fantastic place (easy parking and on a bus route). Had a wonderful time this afternoon - making crafts, seeing owls, brilliant food which matched the incredible theming of the place. All topped off by incredible customer service - an absolutely amazing staff team who went out of their way to make sure our visit was perfect. Thank you!

Magnificent experience. We took a 5 & 8 year old and they loved it. They are still going on about how the food was amazing, today. The staff are exceptional, good fun, fast, responsive and immensely inclusive. The afternoon tea plates are brilliant, and fantastic quality. I was full for hours. We can’t wait to go again, as we got great Aunty & Uncle points from our nephew & niece.

Visited for the first time today and we were amazed how good this experience is. I was a little nervous about the owls but I had nothing at all to worry about. They are handled by a professional who was amazing with her knowledge I was blown away. The staff and whole experience from start to finish was amazing and would recommend to everyone. Thank you so much can’t wait to come back.

A magical place to take your little wizards and witches. The staff go above and beyond to make your visit magical and fun. Seeing the owls is spectacularly good value for money with the whole family learning a lot too. The kids really enjoyed crafting their own wands afterwards and have already asked for a return visit.

Esta fue la segunda vez que visitamos y de nuevo tuvimos un tiempo tan encantador. Vinimos hoy al evento del Búho Escuadrón Volador. Todo estaba bien planificado y organizado por el personal. La señora de los búhos era muy conocedora y los búhos eran impresionantes. Las mesas se limpiaron en medio del evento cuando uno de los búhos se sentó en cada mesa. El desayuno era precioso. El personal es amable, atento y con excelentes habilidades de servicio al cliente. Este es un negocio fantástico y no puedo recomendarlo lo suficientemente alto.

Just got back from a brilliant evening at The Steel Cauldron for my daughter's 9th birthday party. Staff were fantastic. The place is magical with such attention to detail with the decor and the food. Good menu choice including cocktails and beers for the grown ups. A great birthday party that the kids and adults thoroughly enjoyed 😁

We spent a morning with our young children (2 and 4) at the cafe. It was breakfast with Santa. The atmosphere was great from the beginning with all the staff playing their part to make it special for the kids. Lovely food, coffees and an amazing hot chocolate for our little ones. Highly recommend for families with small kids. Feels good to support a small business that is so passionate about what they do.

What an amazing place! Beautiful cafe and a gift shop too. Great decorations, large selection of gifts, brilliant staff and always a great experience. Food menu has changed and improved over the years, with more variety and more healthier options, as well as catering for various diets, to make more customers happy. We have been there during daytime and evening, to see animals and try crafts, take part in Wizard School and see Santa. Always great service and always magical🎉

The team work their socks off to deliver a magical Christmas event for your little ones. Having breakfast whilst santa and his elves entertain was brilliant with a polished performance, great food (my boy gobbled up the nuttella pancakes) and lots of fun singing and being merry. Everyone was full of Christmas cheer. Thanks Steel Cauldron for the best santa experience!

Lunch With Santa - Family Visit! This is by far the most memorable and magical Santa encounter we have had to date! Booking is easy you can book online - if you want to go that little bit extra dress in your best witch / wizard/ Christmas outfit/ jumper ! We went to the steel cauldron - 2 family’s a total group of 11! We were greeted at the door by an elf who showed us to our table. They sat us on a large long table which was lovely near the fireplace - the next table across was a little close as you couldn’t go between the 2 for food service or anything but still very cosy. The whole place is so magic and has such a warm feeling to it from the moment you enter - the lunch with Santa it’s self is amazing! Santa does a great job making the whole experience magical for everyone involved of any age so this is a great place for families with siblings of various ages and for the parents and grandparents. I cant emphasis enough that the interactions with Santa - his mannerisms and his way of involving everyone in the interaction is superb! You will have the opportunity to take as many of your own photos with Santa as you wish ( obviously everyone is courteous ) - note they do not print photos or gifts. The only thing they could do to make things easier for Santa is to give the ( really young kids - name tags on entry ) so Santa can get their name straight away especially if they are of a really young age. You will be offered the option of doing various crafts whilst you are there - we chose Christmas baubles which were great! The kids loves doing these ranging from age 2-11. The menu is - Ok. I can highly recommend the soup. The pizza and the ice cream. They had a lot of things missing off the menu so this was disappointing as it was quite a lot of missing items. The potion drinks are great and kids will love them as they are very sweet! The wizards teas were great and the little wizards one but - they didn’t have the items that were listed and we were not made aware of substitutes - which I imagine could be very problematic for anyone with allergies etc They also have a wonderful little shop full of magic merch! Perfect for picking up any last minute Christmas gifts / something to remember the experience by! Or if you are a huge Harry Potter/ magic fan! If you haven’t booked yet you should you won’t regret it. Deposits are £5 pp!

We spent a fabulous hour and a half at The Steel Cauldron. Sir Basil really made us feel important with special attention to our birthday girl and we really appreciated the jokes, demos and magic tricks. Everyone loved it. Perfect food platter as well! Would very much recommend. Magic all around 🎉

Fantastic place. Such nice staff and amazing atmosphere. Great activities both for adults and kids. We weren’t rushed even after our booked time slot finished. Food was really nice and not overpriced which is a lot these days. 100% recommend

Went to an owl experience. Was a really lovely day and the gift shop has some magical things. Only downside was trying to pay for things from the shop took a little while as a new group of people were coming for the owl show and the entrance/exit was a little tight with having a pram. Food and drink was all great though and the staff were really lovely:)

We've had multiple wonderful times at The Steel Cauldron with our toddler. The stay and play sessions are brilliant and the staff are phenomenally attentive and such good fun. We particularly love Plum the puppet and our son is his biggest fan!!

Absolutely wonderful place to visit - the staff made this such a special and memorable experience, they never broke character, they were funny and very polite and kind throughout the afternoon. The food was spectacular, the atmosphere magical, and the Flying Squad owls were absolutely amazing! Fully recommend for a wonderful afternoon, and will be visiting again I am sure!

We haven't even left yet and I already feel the need to leave a review. We came here as a group of 3 adults and 2 children and it's been a fantastic trip. We had also booked the apartment for a night which was just the cutest experience. We were here for 4 different experiences and all were fab for kids and adults alike. As an adult I must say I loved the pottery painting. The staff are just fabulous and are always ensuring you're having a magical time! I can't even pinpoint a specific member of staff as they were all fantastic! The food is great and served quickly and the drinks menu is so extensive that we feel the need to return again and again. If we lived closer I feel like my wife and I would be here most weekends 😊 (we don't even have our own children haha!) Thank you to all the staff at the cauldron you have been great and we've thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a fantastic first visit on Halloween! The food was lovely and very quick, we loved the crafting, the staff were completely committed to the theme and their characters and we cannot wait to come back!

My son absolutely loves this place, has asked to have his next birthday party here. Staff are all incredibly friendly and really play along for the magic of the experience. Food was great, and the crafts are spot on and a great way to spend a couple of hours.

Located on bus routes with parking near by. We went with my son and 4 of his friends (with family) to celebrate his birthday. All the children were neurodivergent, the staff went out of they way to accommodate and adjust, ensuring each child had a brilliant visit whilst ensuring the rest of whizarding school had the best time. The staff are amazing, keeping in character at all times. We love visiting here.

Absolutely delightful experience! There were 4 of us. Myself, my husband, 6 year old daughter and 3 year old nephew. We all loved it, the little ones decided to paint pottery and they thoroughly enjoyed it. It kept them very busy and entertained throughout! They had the apprentices tea which was well priced with lots of sweet treats! The staff are lovely and friendly, we enjoyed seeing the owls and the lady shared lots of interesting facts and answered any questions we had. Pre-book to avoid disappointment! You can redeem the £5 per person paid at booking on crafts/ food. We went on Sunday and my daughter is already asking to go back to do more crafting! Thank you for such a lovely time. We will certainly be back!

Cracking venue, "Eat, Drink, Owl!" was a fab experience for niece (8yrs) and they make a bang on cuppa too! Super friendly staff, nothing too much trouble!

Visited today for the witches bottomless tea - 90 mins of unlimited cocktails (Halloween themed cos of the time of year), prosecco or soft drinks/mocktails. Amazing wizard tea with the biggest piece of cake ever (& very tasty!). Even a card trick and birthday songs for those celebrating! Great time, would definitely recommend!

Unwind the magic & let the mysteries flow! We attended the eat and drink with flying squadron of amazing owls! I can’t exaggerate how informative, captivating the whole experience was. Brilliant for families, kids and adults alike. Food, atmosphere & overall experience was highly reasonable with a vast gift shop too. I can’t give too much away because I don’t wish to be turned into a toad…. But it is time to for you to book in and become enchanted too!

Such a fun little cafe/bar. Great for all ages as throughout the day the atmosphere changes from cafe to more bar in the evening.

We had my sister’s hen do this evening here and it was AMAZING! Perfect venue for a witchy person. The staff couldn’t have done more, our entertainment cancelled last minute so they did all they could to provide us entertainment which was great! We had the venue to ourselves. Food and drinks all lovely too

Fantastic day out! We went for the owl flying experience and stayed for lunch and crafting afterwards. The cafe itself is brilliant, the staff were really friendly and engaging and the activities were perfect. The kids (and adults) had a really great time. And it’s all really reasonably priced too. Will definitely return!

I came here with my 3 children as we are all huge harry potter fans and wanted to have a immersive wizarding experience and we were not dissapointed! From the moment we stepped through the door the staff were welcoming and engaging, really playing into the theme which we absolutely loved! The owl experience was fantastic! The owls owner really made an effort to make sure everyone got to have an up close and personal experience with each owl and was very knowledgeable on the birds, taking time after the display to go around, take photos and answer questions. The cafe itself is decorated beautifully with lots of Harry potter themed items and a lovely shop with merchandise that myself and the kids really enjoyed looking around. We came from Cheshire for the experience and we would definitely come back again as it is well worth every penny. A thoroughly enjoyable experience I can highly reccomend.

We had a brilliant afternoon having a wizarding afternoon tea and watching the flying squadron of owls. Lovely food (very plentiful!) and fun drinks, with an added extra bonus of meeting the owls. My five and two year old were transfixed!

Really lovely, unique place! Easy for parking, great menu and lovely that there's magic tricks shown, little crafts for people to do, owls to see and get photos with and a little shop!! My little niece really loved it, although to her disappointment, her wand she made still hasn't turned her grandma into a frog yet...... But she's still trying!!🤣🤣 Thank you for such a lovely time 😍

We LOVE The Steel Cauldron. This is our third or fourth time, and it won't be the last. We went for the owl experience, really informative and cleverly pitched just right, so not complicated for younger children but not boring for older kids or grown ups. Beautiful birds! The themed teas are yummy, and we LOVE the milkshakes. The ambience is amazing and the staff are all lovely. It's not the cheapest afternoon out, but we love it for a holiday treat.

This place is MAGICAL! So much so that our kids wanted to stay, even under threat of being turned into goblins and made to clean the toilets. We are now being asked to turn their bedrooms into replicas of this cafe. It is so beautiful. The magic started from our entrance with the wonderful Sir Bazil welcoming us in and explaining the magical way to order drinks and food. We came for the owl display, which was wonderful. Where else do you get to sit in a gorgeous magical cafe and watch owls fly around you?! Our drinks were delivered quickly and it was explained to us upfront that we would have food after the owl display - makes perfect sense. The owl display was lovely though at times it was hard to hear Professor Alba as she moved around the room. We were all spellbound though and it was lovely to have the owls so close. Food was brilliant. Kids loved their nutella pancakes and apprentice tea, and our toasted sandwiches made a perfect brunch. We stayed longer to do crafts - youngest made a wand and eldest made a stunning potion bottle, and really enjoyed mixing their potion to go in the bottle. We adored Sir Bazil's magic card tricks as well. Good sir, you are brilliant! The only reason I'm dropping a star is that we were told by Sir Bazil, on asking, that our oldest could keep the cauldron from their apprentice's tea, but he had left for the day by the time we left, and the "owl lady", on clearing our table, didn't seem to accept this as truth and argued that this wouldn't be the case and normally they would charge. Our children are autistic (which we had advised when booking) and our eldest felt so anxious about being challenged on this, despite knowing it was true, that we had to leave the cauldron behind. Even offering to pay for it was too distressing as they felt they had done something wrong. These mixed messages are incredibly hard for autistic children to understand. So we left feeling a little bit sad about this. It was a very small thing, which would have given our child a lot of joy but instead caused them stress. I really feel like this could be an amazing safe space for neurodiverse people, with some care. I should also say that the service really dropped off after the owl event. There are a few young people serving who are not on the ball and really need to pay more attention to customers. This is a place that deserves to thrive. Board game nights, D&D nights, tarot evenings, mediums, cosplay events....just a few thoughts. if I lived nearby I would be here every day.

Booked with my kids and grandkids to watch the owl show and then had food. The owl show was amazing. The handler was very competent and knowledgeable and the show was worth the extra cost. The food is basic but tasty and there is something for everyone including vegan and gluten free. Very reasonably priced. They do crafts but I’d advise either booking crafts when you book or going for lunch as we were too late at 4pm for crafts. Also if you go late order cake at the time you order food as they looked amazing but we couldn’t have any as the kitchen had closed. Overall a lovely experience and will be back

Great place full at character and friendly staff. Did all they could to accommodate my grandson and I. Great little magic show with Ashton carter. Kids and adults alike. A tad expensive for a couple of hours max but still good fun.

I took my best friend here for her birthday- nothing was too much trouble to make her day special. We picked from the menu, service was swift, perfect and with a wizards smile. We then did pot painting, again nothing was too much trouble. Had another lovely visit today. First the brilliant flying squadron display of owls, followed by a wonderful lunch. We even got to meet a stick insect. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely afternoon out with children. They were really excited by their Wizard Tea and loved the crafts. They opted for a wand and a dragon egg. The staff were enthusiastic and friendly. Cool decor, too.

Went to the Steel Cauldron for my birthday and had the afternoon tea and owl experience. It was fantastic! Food was delicious and huge portions. The staff were lovely, and made the experience even better as they remain in character. The owl show was brilliant! Lovely to see all the owls and very informative. The place is really well decorated and they have a Harry Potter shop. Would definitely come back again.

Place was dirty and could do with a good clean. Staff were too busy talking between themselves to serve. Food was poor quality. Definitely overpriced

We had the most magical stay here, the attention to detail with decor was outstanding not to mention the available amenities (games, costumes, projector) that kept the children amused. The apartment was clean and had one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. Would also recommend trying the Steel Cauldron cafe below the apartment. The staff were exceptional at creating a whole experience for everyone including the adults and couldn’t have been more attentive or friendly. Food was delicious and my nephews loved their interactive drinks and lunch. Highly recommend and will definitely be paying another visit.

Attended The Steel Cauldrons first bottomless afternoon tea event and can’t wait for the next one! Excellent food and plenty of it, unique entertainment. This place is a must visit destination if you’re in Sheffield!

you can have lunch anywhere but at the Steel Cauldron lunch is an experience: from a magical welcome, a fascinating and enjoyable menu choice ( mine was the Wizard's Wand Panini, cake and a cuppa) to good food in magical surroundings, this is a place to enjoy. The staff were great, the food was lovely and lunch was a lovely experience. A place to return to - I only wish I lived nearer

1st time here, and what a magical time! Stayed upstairs in the Wizards Rest and can honestly say it couldn't be better. Only 2 of us, so there was more than enough space, although a family would be easily as comfortable. Plenty of nice wizardly touches - even in the loo! The master bedroom is suitably decadent, with a very comfy four poster. The lounge boasts a projector screen TV - perfect for watching a HP film or 3. Downstairs at the Cauldron, the food and drinks were plentiful and yummy, and to top it off had a wonderful owl experience getting up close to the wonderful birds. All the staff were both pleasant and helpful, can't wait to go back. Carl and Hannah

Visited as a couple for Sunday afternoon tea and the Owl Show. More than enough sweets and cakes in the £18.95 Wizard's Tea - we took a few bits home with us. Very fun experience and the owl keeper and all staff were friendly.

We were fortunate to stay in the amazing accommodation last night. The pictures do not do it justice at all !!!!! It was absolutely amazing my son who had it as a birthday present could not stop smiling. The attention to detail is above and beyond. They could not be any more helpful and accommodating throughout our experience from the day I booked it till when we left. As for sleeping we had the best sleep and I was even in a single bed. Birthday boy got the 4 poster and slept like a king. They truly thought of everything!! I could not recommend it highly enough. We also had breakfast in the cafe and did the owl experience. Another fantastic experience and you got to get up close to them, the food is lovely and perfect start to the day. My son absolutely loved the potion drinks and we even brought one home. He’s planning to collect them all. It’s so worth a trip a must visit to Harry Potter fans and if your like me not at all it is still a magical experience and we will certainly be booking in for more experiences as well as the the accommodation. The amazement and smile on my son’s face is priceless one of the best things I’ve ever done with my kids. We need to support this amazing family run business

OMG! Wanted to treat my 2 Harry Potter mad girls so thought about here, when I saw the Wizards Rest above, I just had to book! It surpassed all my expectations, the attention to detail was outstanding! The staff were like instant friends, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfy and magical, and worried that I hadn't sneaked the girls wands out with us, I found 4 laid out ready for our arrival. There was also harry potter dress up to fit us all. Breakfast with the Owls was amazing, food was delicious and amazingly presented ...I felt the magic throughout our stay....we r all ready planning our return! Thank u for making a family happy x

All staff were so polite, very knowledgeable about the owls and just fab all round. So glad we made the trip and would recommend and definitely return no question. We had a brilliant time making wands and painting a pot. The staff were really friendly. I definitely felt like I was a part of the wizard community 😊😊😊

A really fun and (child) friendly Harry Potter themed cafe with a magical menu and a corner with HP themed and branded merch. They offer a range of weekday, weekend and half-term activities, including craft days and owl shows. The food and drinks offer a selection that is pleasantly different enough from your usual eateries (and ofc more magical), but can still find your usual favourites. Don't forget your spell to order!

First time going, lovely place that is filled with harry potter inspired/magic décor. They have small gift shop filled with little things from key chain's, art, bags. Some being Harry Potter merchandise. They food and drinks were lovely. The only unfortunate thing was some of the items weren't available but staff apologised and offered alternatives. (Hopefully I will get to try what I wanted on my next visit) The Owl show was amazing. There is a room where you can see them before the show and a table full of books on owls. They had 5 different Owls and 3 got shown in The Flying Squad doing flight around the room, while being told information about each owl. After the show we got our food and we were allowed to see Franklin one of the owls close up to take a photo and to ask any questions. The staff was attentive and full of personality. I would say the only thing for me is that it was quite noisy due to having two kid parties that day. Other than that it was a great time and I think I'll definitely come again.

Absolute Gem of a place. Had a joint party for our girls there, then stayed over at the Wizards rest apartment above after. Staff so lovely and helpful. Crafting activities and the Owls were brilliant. Well worth a visit. Wish we lived closer

We had the owl experience and it really was fantastic. We were sat on the table in the middle of the room so we got the full benefit of the owl flying over head, definitely had to duck! Food was very nice and the drinks were fantastic, I cannot recommend enough! We will most certainly be back!

Visited during half term for the owl show, it was absolutely amazing…. We were the only table without children but who cares, adults can love Owls too! Love the theme of the cafe, the food was amazing and the drinks are exceptional. The thought that’s gone into every little detail amazed us and we were constantly looking round or at the menu noticing everything. Staff were fab, friendly, great with the owl show, great with the food/drink. Service was amazing and we would definitely recommend this place to everyone, not just people with kids! We will be back soon!

Magical, Quirky and wonderful afternoon. We booked in for the flying squadron and they did not disappoint. Felt like you got plenty of time to get up close and personal with these amazing creatures. Big shout out to Professor Alba and her incredible owls. Wonderful experience and nothing was too much trouble. The owl show was very reasonably priced for £7 pp and there were loads of options for food and drink. We went for the Enchanted Wizards tea, we couldn’t manage it all so brought some cake back with us. Would definitely recommend and we are already booking our next trip!
