Been in today for one of Ben's famous Roast Dinners, amazing food, staff are so friendly, a very friendly pub overall, so much going on, Breakfast club sat/sun, live music, quizs, drag nights and more, other customers make you feel very welcome theres always someone to talk to!

Our local. We love it here. Staff are fabulous people and work really hard to make everyone happy. Food is always hot, great portions and a regularly updated menu. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays and lots of other entertainment. You haven’t lived until you’ve been to Drag bingo. Love you Sun!!

My first time here but my mum has been several times and always rates it very highly. We went for lunch. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the lady serving us was very friendly and helpful. Our food was all amazing. Very well presented, hot and delicious. I will definitely return.

We discovered the Sun Inn by accident My partner had superb oven baked cod I had delicious beetroot tortellini and our Dutch guests had chicken burgers with coleslaw and delicious fries Welcome and service superb and with drinks £20 a head was reasonable for the standard of food provided

We went for Christmas Eve dinner. Absolutely great in every respect. Despite only having one waitress on and one kitchen staff, all the food was great and served without a wait. They were really friendly and atmosphere was great. Well done guys! Would highly recommend!

Food was really good, plenty of choice, service was very good, we were there on a busy night but staff were excellent nothing was any trouble.

A family Christmas meal for 15. Often difficult to speak to a human being nowadays to try and book a table! The Sun Inn could accommodate us and easily booked through a friendly member of staff. The pub was very festive, a great evening with all the family, the staff could not do enough for us. A lovely 3 course Christmas menu, very reasonably priced. If was a pleasure to see a local pub with lots of events, music, quizzes etc, we will definitely be back 🥰

So impressed, we had a group of 24 employees for a Christmas dinner . All served at the same time , meals were all hot and food was delicious. Well impressed would definitely recommend

EXCEPTIONAL! Started with a sunday roast. Perfect amd more than enough portions - to say the least. Went back the following evening for their 2-4-1 curry menu. What can we say but absolutely superb. Staff are friendly and the ambience is lovely. Thankyou

Lovely pub with a great menu. I had the Chicken Gyros and was not disappointed, delicious and filling. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I love the decor and layout, best pub in Romsey.

We went out for a family meal, the best roast lamb I have tasted and the rest of the family enjoyed their meals, would highly recomend

i’m not sure where to start. this Pub is something of a gem in this small town the staff are beyond friendly and are the most amazingly funny happy people ever service is on point i’ve now eaten and drank here multiple times and been served with passion and happiness and seen a few menus changes with the seasons always with something new and exciting i love this restaurant as a restaurant and pub and will continue to frequent here and cannot wait for what the future holds to what i consider the best pub in Romsey. many of thanks to Ben, Sadie and their team

We stopped for a quick drink on our way home, and ended up staying for the rest of the evening! The Alabama Stills were playing - superb musicians with a great repertoire - and the atmosphere in the pub was brilliant. And we'll certainly be back to The Sun - great selection of beer, a fantastic menu, and regular live music - so glad we found you :-)

Visited for dinner with a few of my family, place is very sustainable clean and cheap. Service was reasonably fast and all members served us with a smile, could do with a menu change as it seem quite undated other then that it was okay. Thankyou

Great Lunch, lovely staff. Passing through Romsey and came across this pub with loads of parking so stopped for lunch. Two ploughman’s with from the nicest server. Everything was so fresh it was great. Also has a really spacious outdoor area with ample seating and tables inc. comfortable chairs (I hate benches in pub gardens).

Fantastic Sunday roast dinner it was very late in the day when we arrived so not all options were available as we expected so we were in no way disappointed. Highly recommended🌞

I turned up and spoke to the very lovely landlord. I explained that the campsite down the road that I had booked was nowhere near a pub showing the England game. I asked if I could stay in the car park and he said ‘yes’. Can’t speak about the food etc but it was a gesture that I appreciated.

I came here for lunch with a friend for his birthday, we both had the Asian Chicken Burger which was really tasty. Really lovely bar and waiting staff, couldn’t have done more for us. The pudding was the star of the show and absolutely divine!

Been here a few times when visiting family, this was the first time we’ve had a Sunday roast here. It was the best we’ve had in a long time - plenty of meat, in fact generous portions all round, and served with a smile. Would thoroughly recommend, we will be back! Many thanks to you all.

This was recommended as I was staying nearby. Went on a Wednesday night and very quite (only 6 people in pub). I just got in for food (stop cooking at 8:30pm), and had the lamb burgers with salad & chips. Really tasty and large plate of food. Would have liked a bigger pot of coleslaw! Lots of choice on menu. I then had the raspberry tart with ice cream for dessert and this was really disappointing. Service great, friendly staff.

What a turn around this pub has seen! We live locally to The Sun but after a previously rubbish experience, I'd avoided returning. We decided to give it another go after hearing such great things since the new management and being enticed by the live music on Friday! Now, by the time I left, I was pretty slaughtered but even Saturdays hangover wouldn't put me off returning. We had such a great night. The bar staff interact and have a good craic with you. The manager was present all night and his witty one liner humour is so refreshing. We didn't eat alot with the exception of some chips, as Gin took priority that night; My sister did return for breakfast on Sunday as being pregnant meant she wasn't still suffering a two day hangover like I was- she said it was 'banging' We cant wait to return and look forward to a Drag bingo night. I was lucky enough to catch a performance from Lucinda in the Londoner a couple of years back and she was outrageously funny! Well done to all involved in making The Sun, my new favourite pub in Romsey.

We’d been to the reserve at Fishlake Meadows and were looking for lunch after a long walk. The Sun Inn was amazing! There was a large variety of food from baguettes, jacket potatoes, a full menu as well as a specials board. We had the fish & chips (which comes as a small or large portion) and the chicken & chorizo lasagne which were both delicious. The lady who served us couldn’t have been more friendly to us and our dog!! We’ll definitely go back!

Fantastic find after visiting Paultons Park, only 10-15 min away. Service was great and food was delicious and cooked fresh, great size portions especially for the little ones.

To be fair the atmosphere was fine it was just a little empty but it was a Wednesday. Service was outstanding and they helped us 200 percent with any requests. We have booked a bingo night so defo be back. We had the wine and cheese offer which was great.

WOW what a great friendly welcome we had. We absolutely loved our experience the place was so clean and the toilets. The food Oh Yummy really nice couldn’t fault a thing and Ben and his team made you feel like you were more like family then just visitors I can’t wait to go again infact all four of us felt like that absolutely brilliant Love to you all Kathy Kay ❤️

Not a great experience!. I feel sorry for the young chap behind the bar who appeared to have to do everything . It’s not his fault but more is expected. The food itself was below what was expected with food coming out 15 minutes after the first dish. Each plate appeared to have no more than an extra small portion. Many others were complaining about the wait time , no staff to clear tables etc…. Overall, very poor.

Stopped by here for an impromptu lunch. Great service from friendly staff and nice food. Highly recommended if you are in the area. I tried one of their burgers and finished with cherry pie. My partner had hunters chicken and the crumble for desert.

I hadn’t been here before, my parents have so they chose here for my sisters birthday lunch as they enjoyed it last summer. Lovely place with excellent customer service. Nice welcoming decor. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was delicious, reasonably priced for generous portions. Personal choices catered for and not a long wait. Nothing was too much for the staff. Kind, courteous and friendly. Will definitely return again.

We had the best dinner here on Valentine’s Day. Chicken burger was lovely Hunters chicken was so good And the kids had a hot dog and pasta. The staff are so lovely and so are the locals. Lovely chilled vibe. The pub itself is not too big so it’s lovely and intimate. Much better than some of the larger venues. Lovely outdoor area too. Defo visit!

Would like to say wine Wednesday is a good break up of the week ...excellent Malbec wine choice by hubby, cheeseboard good cheese vs biscuits ratio and a very nice lady added some extra pickle onions as wife ate them all ....Great service 👍👍👍👍

Popped in yesterday for a quick drink as we're staying near by but so impressed by the service we went back today for a smashing roast turkey dinner. Absolutely delicious and the table service from Molly was amazing!! Wow we wanted for nothing,we really were waited on hand and foot as we're all of further customers we saw. Warm,cozy,welcoming,spotlessly clean,not posh but DEFINATELY where we'd like to be stranded in a storm!! We came down from Poole for the day . Had their offer on Monday which was two burgers for the price of 16.00 . We could add additional fillings and they were the tastiest burgers we’ve had . Cooked to perfection and with the best service

Ben and team provided a great lunch for our ladies gym belated xmas lunch. Great service and lovely food. Difficult when catering for large numbers but everything seemed to come out nice and hot .

What can I say… as a booking of 20 people some would expect there to be at least some things to go wrong or (not to our liking) but I can hand on heart honestly say me and my whole booking had NOTHING bad to say about anything! Food was amazing! Staff were amazing! We was made to feel extremely welcome! The owner even got out the karaoke machine for us use, which made our night! A massive thank you to everyone who works there and the owners to accommodate the large table! Will definitely be coming back as a team and individually! THANK YOU!!!

Had a great night at the Sun Inn on Saturday. They hosted 20 of us for our works “Christmas” meal! Food was great, service was great and they even let us do a bit of karaoke! Thanks very much!

Looking for somewhere to eat on the way back to guest house and saw this place. Inside instantly interesting with music wallpaper and records on the wall. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Had food which was nice and hot. This is situated on the Winchester road 20 minute walk from the town centre. Plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking. Would definitely go again and recommend..

Booked a table for 6pm as we were on our way to see a show at the Plaza (show started at 19.30) After what seemed a long time we finally was given our meals . I had the eggs ,gammon and chips which even I could conjure up but apparently the chef at the Sun cannot 🤔 The eggs were like rubber and the gammon was not much better . At least the chips were OK.

It was a delight to be greeted by a lovely smile and accommodating staff. We had a delightful Sunday lunch - roast lamb was my choice. It was plentiful and scrumptious. Surpassed my expectation (we had eaten there about a year ago and were not impressed) … but came highly recommended lately. Would I return? … most certainly !!! Thank you.

We Love this hidden gem of a pub in Romsey! The Menu is always exciting for regulars as the pub runs a rotating menu, so always something new to try. The Garden has recently veen re-vamped and there are a couple of lovely booths which are warm and cosy even on a chilly evening as they come with heaters installed! Another recent addition is the cocktail menu which we of course indulged in, the Strawberry daiquiri's were delightful! The pub is dog friendly and they will even offer your four legged friend a treat on arrival, if they are extra hungry, there is a doggy menu with dog friendly meals from which you can spoil your dog from, our Cocker Spaniel always looks forward to visits here!

Had a wonderful roast yesterday for fathers day and my sisters birthday too.I mentioned my grandma was coming in a wheelchair and they had the space ready for her at the table, sometimes it’s those little things that go really far. Absolutely amazing hospitality... Went with my girlfriend and 3 children, and were made to feel welcome the moment we walked in by a friendly and very funny landlord/waiter. The food came reasonably quickly, and was hot with generous portions. Proper wholesome cooked food in this inn. Will definitely be visiting again! 👏👏

Food is very reasonably priced and portions are ample. Tastefully decorated and sometimes the sport is played on a large screen. Drink prices are in keeping with other pubs in Romsey. Very polite staff and food is served very quickly.

Great local pub with a warm friendly greeting from Ben the new landlord. Food is lovely and they do a golden year's menu for us pensioner's two course for £10.00. Friday night music evenings are a very welcome new edition and Ben seems to book such fab groups and singers. Feel right at home in this lovely gem of a place.
