Always friendly staff and good atmosphere. Nice pub to call into at Wetherby. Has a good choice of beers and lagers.

Llegamos muy temprano y preguntamos si podíamos dejar nuestro coche en el aparcamiento mientras nos dirigíamos al hipódromo, lo que no fue un problema en absoluto. Volví, me registré en nuestras habitaciones y luego fui a tomar algo a otro pub. Volvió después de una y se sentó durante horas en el pub jugando y bebiendo demasiado. Las habitaciones están limpias y la cama súper cómoda. Podía escuchar música alta abajo durante bastante tiempo, lo que era extraño cuando nos fuimos después de los últimos pedidos, pero no nos impidió dormir bien. Wetherby town centre pub. Parking on street and car park very close by. Restrictions apply so watch out. Surprisingly pleasant Sunday afternoon visit although you have to accept the Sunday roast meal.

Handy location as it is on the way into town. Good selection of Ales, there is a beer garden which is great when the sun is out. The premises is very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. A pool table is available and is reasonable at 50p per game.

Great location great food rooms ok floors are uneven but it’s really pub so can understand that and apparently has haunted room

Where do I start... walked into the pub and asked if they were still serving food and the staff behind the bar said "yeah the menus are still other table." There was no advice on steak night, The food was very nice but the staff were very apporling, they were very rude and the way they spoke when we finished our dinner was not good either. They never asked if our food was nice or anything.

Pumpkin soup FULL of inedible woody seed husks. Upon complaining, we were told that the soup was "artisan" and offered another bowl. The chef's definition of artisan is clearly throw entire vegetables (seeds and all) into some stock and blitz. Hmmm. This came on top of our order being lost in the first place. Fish finger sandwich was good though.

Had a meal and it was beautiful, Yorkshire pudding wrap with beef and roast potatoes and gravy really nice,i highly recommend this and will be going again,oh and washed it down with a pint of birra morretti ❤️

A BIG shout out to team Swan for the family 'SwanStock' day they put on, on the 10th August 2024 (yesterday at the time this review was written). Live bands, magician, BBQ and free bouncy castle for the kids. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed and everybody had a great day from start to finish. The bar staff were (as always) superb in dealing with the orders. Although shattered by the end of the night the girls served quickly and with smiles. Girls, you rock. Thank you very much to Hayley and the team for putting on such a brilliant, FREE event. Much love from BlueBeard 😁❤️

Just called in after doing a car boot (not local) and made to feel welcome, plenty of parking behind in Morrisons and most important, the young girl and lad behind the bar were so attentive, pandering to our demands for coffees and teas, serving them as quick as beers and wines for the group. Thank you! The management obviously pick their staff carefully and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Had a beautiful steak in the Swan on sabbath as a birthday treat from my friend she had the scampi and it was absolutely amazing

Whilst returning to Leeds from a Veterans Day gathering in the North East of England I got my 83 year old mother right up to the door and luckily secured a table through the assistance of a delightful young waitress lady from Latvia. Small portions for elderly were on offer which we both availed of. Braw

A cosy, friendly pub serving lovely food. Great wine, too, and all at very reasonable prices. We had the most delicious steak and ale pie ever. Definitely worth seeking out if you find yourself in Wetherby.

Was going to order food but saw one of the chefs (sorry to be rude) but the slimmer one, with his blue gloves on blow snot out of his nose onto the floor in the smoking area with a cigarette in the other hand. Absolutely turned my stomach.

Love this place best place in Wetherby great friendly staff and food is delicious , Especially the Yorkshire pudding wraps.

We booked to visit for dinner last minute after finding that we’d left the nearby Stockeld Park later than expected and are very happy that we came. The pub itself was a lovely mix of traditional pub and eating area. It was accommodating for our party of 8 which included 4 children aged 6 and under. The staff were all friendly, made us feel welcome and checked in throughout the visit to make sure we were ok. The food itself was lovely. We ordered from the Sunday menu and the portions were generous and we all left feeling satisfied. There was a good selection of alcohol free drinks available too which is always a bonus when people in the group are driving! Thank you to all the staff and we’ll definitely be visiting again if we’re in the area.

Booked for 4 at 4.00pm first impression great a full pub is always a good sign. Sunday lunch was the preferred meal, between the four of us we had Beef, Pork and Chicken. Served with Yorkshire puddings, veg and roast potatoes, and a lovely sweet sticky caramelised carrot. Plenty of gravy, but if you prefer your gravy on the side just ask. The staff were great couldn’t do enough for us. Give them a try there doing a brilliant job of reviving a great Pub.

my wife daughter and grandaughter went for a ride to wetherby we decided to have dinner ihad already seen the pub when we drove by it so we agreed to give it a try and am i glad we did it was excellent. the service we recieved was first class the food was delicious and we could even park the car in pub car park.we will definately be going back in the near future

Nice pub, came here for a lunch meeting, as they used to do great food. Sadly they don't serve food anymore, so left hungry. Friendly place though :)

Had a round. Children (13 and 9) played pool. Was seated directly opposite across pub so could see at all times. Bar maid made a point of coming down to say they need to be supervised. Awful women. Avoid this pub

Met several friends for a social gathering on a sunday evening, it was stone cold empty. While the service was good the decor, especially the seating needed throwing out and completely replacing, it was filthy and worn. The place looks like it needs a complete revamp or it will stay empty.

Waste of money, no food menu, no TV and very loud room. A lot of money for no service. We should have been reimbursed as on booking.com it states all the above amenities were available.

Remind me to never ever visit this place again. Party of 12 which subsequently trebled the amount of customers the pub had, decided to go for a couple of drinks after being out celebrating out mother's birthday. After ordering and paying for our drinks which was a combination of beer, wine and pop for the kids the chap behind the bar who was three sheets to the wind decided to tell us we had 10 minutes to finish our drinks as two of our kids were too young to be in the pub. It probably would of been a prudent idea to of informed us of his rules prior to taking our order. We left as disgruntled customers never to return again as his attitude stunk.

Room smelt horrible.. Room old fashioned..no TV as no Internet spoke to manager about TV was told it had been reported to the brewery for weeks .. wall paper coming off wall .. curtains not attached.. so depressing we left without staying came home a day earlier.. never again..was so upset as whereby is so beautiful 😓

Hotel is lovely and the area is great, however when paying £100 a night I expect to have a decent sleep! The pot wash has been on and off all night and sounds like they are doing it in my room, very loud and inconsiderate :(

We stopped there overnight on our way back from Scotland to meet friends as we used to live in Wetherby. Very disappointed as room wasn’t ready and had to go for a walk and they don’t do breakfast and we were told to go to the local supermarket which has a cafeteria. The only good thing was situation as in the middle of Wetherby.

Stayed here a few times in the last few months. Lovely clean rooms. Fabulous friendly staff. Very good, reasonably priced food. Parking to rear just give your reg number at the bar but loads of signage to remind you. Highly recommend a visit or stay here.

First went in got greeted by Craig very pleasant made us feel at home the food was outstanding and great prices it was nice clean and tidy plenty of drinks to choose from .

The first thing I do when researching an establishment’s review is to look at the Authenticity of the reviewer. So I saw the last two negatives on The Swan and Talbot and both profiles were created in July 2023. Only two reviews. So I took no notice. My review is genuine. A great safe place. Clean, the staff are wonderful and couldn’t do enough for you. There’s no youngsters at all, all middle aged and older clientele like myself. The food wonderful, The singer was on, people danced and had a great time. I’ve been 3/4 times now and not once have I witnessed any trouble. The new landlords have ironed out all the problems from previous. Highly recommended. A great place to eat, stay and a fabulous commute to York City, Well done and thank you. We will be back.

Sunday afternoon was a great laugh with the pubs weekly Sunday Funday quiz event. Finished off our weekend away perfectly. We ate here on Saturday and the food was excellent and good value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfy beds and everywhere was spotlessly ckean. Will definitely recommend this place and be back again next year. Thank you.

I’ve been coming to The Swan & Talbot for the last few months since the new owners took over and wow what a great pub it’s become. No longer are the druggies, alcoholics and underage using this place. Thank goodness! The kitchen is back open serving delicious food, pub is spotlessly clean and the staff and management are lovely and welcoming. Please ignore the 1 star reviews as this is not the place they make it out to be. It’s family friendly, pet friendly, LGBTQ friendly and a nice safe place to come too. Value for money as well.

Awesome place to stay, drink and eat, The landlords and staff were very accommodating. Older crowd, so felt a lot safer than most places. Everyone was friendly. We will be back Thank you so much.

I often come here for a pint of Ale. You get a pint of good Ale for 3.35£...very good deal. Parking is in the back if needed!

Ideal for quick meal before going out

Incompetent staff gave my relative wrong information when I went to get my car, then lied about it. We only went to support the place because it’s suffered from a terrible reputation of serving kids & turning a blind eye to certain antisocial dealings. Now the staff are as awful as the fighting regulars.

Staff are incompetent, give false information then lie about it. They’re incredibly rude. Do not recommend. Sadly apparent why it has such a dire reputation, high staff turnover and more managers than Crystal Palace. Leave it to the kids & dealers that allegedly frequent it.

In a town with relatively few places to park, a pub with its own car park is a find! We needed lunch and a drink. The menu isn’t long, but both the steak and ale pie and the scampi were nicely presented and just right. Staff were friendly and keen to please, and the ambience was good - a friendly and down-to-earth place to meet, eat and drink. Prices are low, and excellent value. I’ll happily come back.

Not been since it was open again. Friendly landlord, great value drinks a pint of Ossett blonde & a medium Chardonnay £6.20. Overheard landlord talking to someone about the meals especially the fish and chips what good value they were. Called back another evening and decided to try the fish & chips. All main courses were £6.99 or two for £11.00. He was right about the fish & chips they were excellent, the fish was large. the batter was light & crispy, handmade chips, with garden or mushy peas. The pizzas that came from the kitchen also looked great as did the curries. All the staff were friendly & helpful, certainly go back again. Look out Wetherby Whaler !!!!

Stayed at the Swan & Talbot for a wedding in Wetherby. Quaint setting with lots of original character features. Ben, the owner, couldn’t do enough for us, and drove us to the wedding himself after our taxi didn’t turn up. Great customer service.
