Typical Wetherspoons worth the short walk from central Middlesbrough. I enjoyed a lovely pint, or 2, of Citra for only £1.99, how do they do it?

The swatters carr. In Middlesbrough is the only weatherspoons left after the resolution closed down. About a year and a half ago it's now the cheapest pub for a cheap ale at £199 a pint.

We popped in for some food and a drink. Day trip to Middlesbrough on the train whilst on holiday in North Yorks Moors. Another good Spoons nothing to fault. Staff cleaning empty tables is always a good thing to see. The toilets were very clean too. Food, curry all round, was good and came quickly. All good then.

Had a chicken tikka and chips meal for the price it was very nice 👌

Visited Saturday 15/06/2024. Was quickly served, and excellent value.

A bit rougher than I would have expected for a Wetherspoons however it is always busy, friendly and a lot of happy customers. Smokers are well accommodated outside in the beer garden area, the food is honest pub grub, fair prices for food and drinks, sticky carpets, toilets are so so.

I was in there for less than an hour and a group of girls in the toilets push me about a little, distract me and they took my bag. They stole my cash, card and phone. Apparently there are pictures of these people circulating the pubs locally warning that they are thieves. I know it doesn't attract the best clientele but this experience was something else.

Leon and Luke both top lads both of them wished me happy birthday and I received really friendly service. Both deserve praise.

Went on Bank Holiday Sunday (this review is about that day), service was fast and the staff were fantastic. Got a bit busy but still served within minutes, saw they ID'd a few people which was good. Toilets are a bit of an issue, need to be seen to a bit more often. Have been here many times before and shall go again, 2 pints (Coors and Cider) for £5.92, brilliant price, great staff.

I work allover the country and use every spoons bur I have to compliment the staff and work they put in at the swatters Megan Morgan duty manager John they never stop and are very polite and friendly obvs as an outsider lol you have a good team here mr Martin keep them

Middlesbrough's central watering hole. It welcomes everyone. I was bowled over by the cheap cost of a grey goose and vodka. I got 2 doubles! I can't remember the exact price (probably due to the 2 x double grey gooses/geese?) but it was very easy on the pocket (phone). A classic weatherspoons that ticks all the boxes (besides the long walk to the toilet, this walk was shockingly short!)

Really nice food, absolute bargain

Went to this wetherspoons 2 nights in a row, I would have given it a 4 star if I only went for the one night, however the second night was not so good. The lady behind the bar was pleasant But when I asked if I could have rice instead of chips with my steak she asked some arrogant bloke with a black shirt and pony tail, who just grunted a “NO” without even looking up at me, I then asked if I could have an egg instead with exactly the same arrogant grunting “NO” without making eye contact. My request was something they do in our local spoons, so I didn’t think my request was extreme or awkward. if I wasn’t with the family I would have told the guy where to go, he must be losing the pub customers…but he’s arrogant so he doesn’t care. When I finally got my steak ( ordered medium rare ) it came to me well done. Not good

Not enough space around the disabled toilet chairs too close so larger wheelchairs or walkers could get in without difficulty.

Great pub in the Boro .not been in there for a long time . Would recommend you give it a visit.

Went for a few drinks with friends. It was a good atmosphere, and the pitchers of cocktails were great priced and went down a treat. The security guards and the staff were friendly. A good night out.

Wasn't a great experience and you'd think on a quiet day it would be good. Food was cold and the drinks arrived after the was eaten.

To be fair they did a really good breakfast, ordered on the app from my table and it only took 10 mins to come. All arrived hot and pleasant service

This was a fantastic pub for a visit, providing great aesthetic pleasure with its stripped back design! This includes the brick walls and pillars, counter is smartly presented in itself. Staff were friendly and I enjoyed a pint of Czech beer, sitting at the comfortable seating!

Had several pints of beer here with my friends a couple of. The bar ladies and guys were super nice and friendly. Would go back once my friends are around. Y'all should check it out.

Very nice pub and with TV playing fa cup on BBC?? Huge toilet not very clean. I don't know why they say that has more floors were they closed? Relaxed atmosphere only one lady bouncer on Saturday evening. They didn't ask me what drink I wanted so they have charged a premium one but no big deal.

Loads of room, great beer selection, and the staff are always friendly and efficient. The lunch menu is top-notch. Good selection from the deli, including a pint of brewdog for £8. You literally can't fall off.

One of the best pubs in middlesbrough

Smelled like boiled cabbage, had one drink and left!

1st time in Middlesbrough town centre, and wanted dome food, before going to a local boxing show. This place is obviously popular, as was packed to the rafters! We got burger & chios, but bit disappointed when it arrived as nor many chips, or salad, so a small grumble. The staff however were excellent, and a bottle of brown ale, and a pint of Guinness didn't even come to £6! So great prices. I'd still recommend a visit however.

The food is reheated, not very nice to be honest with you, chips I had weren't very nice, it was soggy. The beer is cheap though and they have a good array of ipas etc. Nice setting and busy during early afternoon.. Which is a good sign.

It's a wetherspoons pub so you know what to expect. Just so happens it's always excellence.

We were refused entry because my boyfriend was “wearing tracksuit bottoms.” Your pub is not posh enough for a dress code like that. I never had this issue going alone, so that’s just blatant discrimination of my boyfriend because of the way he looks.

I had a good time with my friends when I visited
