Had a great evening with live music from Cajun band Lafayette, followed by a great night with a view of Newlyn Harbour. Excellent, locally sourced full English breakfast, not your standard supermarket stuff

Great little place in historic Newlyn. I stayed overnight & thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast.

Booked a last minute trip to see family have to say this pub was amazing friendly quaint cornish pub and our room was huge bright and extremely clean the bed was bigger than king size and really comfy. Breakfast we had toast butter and jams and full English was cooked fresh and served boiling hot it was one of the best we have had in a while we so loved the place that we have booked to come back for our Annerversay in March thank you for an amazing stay and great friendly service will see you in marh

Stayed here for a few days, the food & service was lovely, staff were so friendly & helpful & rooms were lovely & very clean

We stayed Monday to Friday and we had a wonderful time away from the moment we arrived we were greeted by such lovely people and during our stay everyone was very helpful

Only do breakfast but full English is lovely.

Great place to come for a few pints. The bartender was very friendly.

Waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Totally ignored by the staff. We left and found another restaurant.

Very busy pub, with a good atmosphere.

Stopped here to eat our chippies and have a pint. It was alright. There were some interesting characters on the benches out back.

Charming pub but the price of soft drinks was extortionate and I'm from London! The bar man was excellent but I don't like the practice of up selling side dishes. The manager handled a situation well but could have done so earlier. Beer was good and so we're the sandwiches.

Staff perfect, place amazing but the owner and the attitude he came into the pub with and the way he speaks to his staff is appalling, shame on him letting the place down.

Priced out of staying there this weekend. Shame but not the same as april. So expensive. Polish girl wanting drink everytime she served. Not our style. We reward service; nothing else. Maggie excellent. Shame

A good place, the area is split between a basic front bar, and a classic lounge, up to 4 ales available.

Lovely well kept room and breakfast was lovely can't ask more on a one night stopover.

I was disappointed with this pub after reading some of the reviews. The beer wasn't even that good, I had two mediocre points of Doombar. I've had much better. The locals shout and swear a lot at the bar, and the landlady likes to blast loud rock & roll and heavy metal music. If that's your thing and you're not too fussed about the beer, this pub is perfect for you. If not, give it a miss.

Immediately liked it as soon as we walked in, good service good atmosphere, only had the one pint, but that's because we were on a bit of a crawl - looking forward to going back on Monday

Proper Cornish boozer. Easy access by bus from Penzance. A local's local. I love it, but then I belong to that sadly declining few who go to the pub not to eat, but to socialise and listen to everyday life and have a few drinks and even a few more when the situation comes along.

Quiet the time I went but very friendly customers, inviting pub and so was Joe the barman( I believe was his name ) Beer from the handpumps in great condition , I tried the thatchers haze as well.

Bit quite this time of year in Newlyn but if you like well kept real ales and good service drop in here for a beer with a relaxed atmosphere. Also shows the rugby games which are well supported so need to get in early if you want a place to watch the action.

Interesting pub, with a large outside area down the side of the street it's on not far from dock entrance. Three cask beers, when I visited but opinion of bar was that the Sea Fury had just gone as not clearing (always impressive) Proper job chosen & very drinkable. Good range on the bar for other drinks, The pub inside is Multi-roomed. Only called in for a drink on a sunny day (always a bonus) so took opportunity to sit outside which was clearly popular as many tables taken. Well worth a visit!

Lively, friendly, harbourside bar. Well worth a visit. Can be very noisy; that's half the fun. Rugby (obviously) takes precedence on the TV.

Unfortunately we went for a quiet drink but had two men swearing in loud voices ... had a few too many..

Perfect local pub, had great ciders as well as good beers on tap. Good bathrooms too! No food served but snack available. Come for the outside seating area and stay for a pint of Rolling Apple Cider.

Went in yesterday for drinks . I'm from taunton and Exeter chiefs supporter. Was great atmosphere. Met Luke Cowen Dickie friend and Jack nowell friends. Didn't know that Jack nowell owns the pub

Place very welcoming and very lively on Saturdays. There was no risk of drunken brawls obviously anyhow. Good variety of beers and ales.

Could not ask for a warmer welcome. Spotlessly clean. Bright room. Big fluffy towel and awesome Full English with thick cut bacon. Sadly I missed my train ... and my reservation. They let me use the bathroom and grab breakfast when I arrived. I cannot thank them enough. Pub is brilliant too. Great pics of old Newlyn. Fantastic beer garden and dog friendly - remember that from summer. Big HD screen for Rugby too. Thanks again. See you again.

Very friendly traditional pub in the heart of Newlyn well enjoyable great Juke Box.

No food available today, and awful Planet Rock radio station blaring out inside the pub. Both of the ladies toilets had toilet seats that skewed to one side and doors that wouldn't lock because the bolt was miss-aligned. The beer was excellent and the small garden is pleasant to sit in. The barmaid 'worked her socks off' restocking the bar and cleaning.
