Really cannot fault this pub and food prices great I'd rather eat here than a mc d across the road better prices and taste even better ,and the service from staff is fantastic helpful and polite just a little background music in dinning area would Great definitely one of our favourites

Been here many times now, lovely place with good food that comes quickly. Price is very fair. Staff are friendly. Tables can sometimes be in need of a clean but it’s become somewhat of a norm, not enough of a bother for me to lower star rating. Love this place!

Not the best of starts when there’s a notice,”No fish products available “ how can this be? Why couldn’t they have gone to one of the numerous supermarkets nearby to purchase some? We ordered steak, medium rare, when it turned up it was so rare it could have walked off the plate, couldn’t even get a knife through it it was so tough, although it was changed for another one, the plates arrived with at least 50% less chips and peas, no one came around to check it was alright, It took over an hour from the 1st meals too arrive until the last on turned up, although there was 14 of us there’s no way it should have taken that long. One of the children’s meal had sausages which looked as if they had been reheated several times,don’t know if it had but that’s what it looked like,couldn’t be bothered to go and complain again. I think it will be a long time before I return to this restaurant

Mad busy but didn’t stop staff finding and cleaning a table when we arrived. Food was perfect for what you want with 3 boys under 8 and dessert was a must! Bar staff extremely helpful even reminding us to put our reg in to avoid a ticket! All round great service!

Good reasonably priced food. Served in an acceptable time with piping hot food that was well cooked. A very good selection on the menu to choose from.

On arrival we had a warm, friendly welcome from managers & staff. Prosecco was served as a welcoming drink. We were then taken to our table which was stunning, it had individual name cards with our menu choice on the back, Christmassy Crackers, party poppers, gifts for children guests. The staff were attentive giving us time between meals when needed. We had three courses , Starter king prawns and smoked salmon on bed of lettuce with granary bread, Traditional Turkey, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, roasted parsnips, braised red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, carrots, sprouts gravy. Desserts were Christmas pudding and gingerbread cheesecake with icecream. The food was delicious, hot, tasty and top restaurant quality. Went for Christmas day dinner service was first class and the dinner was outstanding first class piping hot and plenty of it

Had the roast and drink for £10 absolutely delicious can’t complain. Hot food and the gravy had a lovely taste.

We went for our annual staff Christmas Meal and it was great. Excellent value for money, lovely, prompt, and courteous service. The landlord was very helpful, generous and thoughtful. Thoroughly enjoyed by all 😊👍

Pre ordered a Christmas meal for a catch up with a friend. Good value and staff were all lovely and even made sure we had the table we had requested. Been here a couple times recently after being out off a few years ago and this pub really has had a turn around- good quality of pub grub and value off money. Have spoken to several staff here over some visits and they have all been really friendly.

I recently went to the Thrasher with family to celebrate my birthday and we all had a lovely time, there was a large choice of food on the menu so there was always going to be something for everybody’s choice. When the food arrived it was lovely and hot and very tasty, none of us had any complaints and there was definitely no food leftover! The dessert menu was fine and again the food was delicious. The service was faultless, the staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The restaurant was lovely and clean and bright. There are plenty of free car parking spaces at the Thrasher and we will definitely return again in the future.

Food was piping hot when it arrived at our table and obviously the chef care about how it is cooked and presented

Unfortunately we couldn't have fish &chips because the fryer wasn't working.Had New York Chicken, onion rings,chips &peas. One of the toilet cubicles didn't have a lock on it.

I hate to be rude or mean but I think it needs to be noted.. we came here on Sunday, and whilst the food was fairly decent, the service was bad. The young man who served us, unfortunately smelled very bad (I am sorry to say), so much so that it made us question the hygiene of our food. He smelled like both body odour and urine. Somebody needs a polite word with him. Food came out quickly and was tastey and hot but we were left with dirty plates on the table for ages after finishing and desserts came before plates were cleared away. Kids mini Ice cream candy mania supposed to come with 2 scoops of icecream but both only had one.

It has been a while since I last went here, and I wanted to see if it was still as good as I remembered. And it was! I enjoyed the food a lot, and it came out in a timely manner. The food was fresh, hot, and not to mention delicious. The service was awesome, they were super friendly and helpful. Overall 10/10 will come back sooner than my last visit.

The atmosphere was really peaceful and cosy, the Christmas decorations were also visually pleasing. However, the roast dinner was a bit dry and the vegetables felt under-cooked. The Yorkshire puddings had a dry texture aswell. On the other hand, the sundae was really delicious! The walls though had some paint peeling which made it feel a bit run down, especially with the state of the ladies bathrooms having some broken doors and a soap dispenser which is damaged.

Had a family meal this evening and honestly the foods just crap, had their quadzilla burger and it was so dry and tasteless, my wife's roast dinner was like it was sat under a heat lamp for hours waiting for someone to buy it and it was like eating scraps. I get that it's a cheap pub style food but come on guys, do you do anything moist!? Serving staff were unenthusiastic and they ask you if you need anything else and if you say yes they tell you to go to the bar and order yourself lol what's the actual point in asking if there's anything else. Mens toilet was out of order and disabled toilet locked up so that's handy. Just save your money and go to the harvester over the road, it's cleaner and the food is actually good.

I had the turkey and it was amazing. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend.

Went for breakfast with a friend. There was a 2 for 1 offer on the traditional breakfast which we both had. It was great value for money (£4.29 for both) and with a half pint of orange juice and a hot chocolate the bill came to a little over £10.

I had a wonderful family meal Tuesday evening, Terry looked after all our requests. Will definitely return. Enjoyed another lovely meal today. Well done Stuart and team.

Just what you want for a birthday party. Food was Bang on and such pleasant staff, just moved back to the area a lot better service since the new landlord has come in. Such a clean place.

We visited The Thrasher public house on 20.6.24 and initially only wanted a drink however we decided to have a meal as well. The pub is supposed to be dog friendly but how wrong we were. We had ordered and were sitting on our own with our dog on a lead. Suddenly as if from nowhere this large female person with an England shirt appeared and aggressively confronted my wife and said your dog is running around barking. I did try and point out it was a dog and had always been on a lead. She said I can hear it in the kitchen. My dog only barked for a few seconds. It was only at that point I realised she was staff. I would suggest that she should undergo some intense customer relation training so as to learn how to be polite. My wife and I found her to be rude and very irritating. Our visit was spoilt by this incident. All I can say is the pub is also definitely NOT dog friendly. We will not be returning although the food was good value. Spoke to manager as per his reply via the review site. We explained that our review was 100% genuine. Kindly offered us vouchers but these have never been seen to date. Now a month on and still no vouchers received. Returned to pub for a meal. So different to the last time. Excellent value and good food. Would recommend……

Last minute decision to go out, and we got a 6 seater table that we needed! Staff member taking our order was very thorough at dealing with our fussiness too!

Good service and friendly staff , brilliant hot food. There was a wait as there was a lot of people booked in so understandable.

A very welcoming place to eat and drink. Plenty of space, particularly the outdoor garden area. Food was promptly served and tasted delicious. You can use the app to order if you want to avoid the bar area. Parking is free but you do need to type in your registration number in a tablet (situated at the main bar) to avoid any unwanted fines. All in all highly recommended 👍

Ordered a breakfast at this place today. The waiter was really miserable and when she brought out my food I said I ordered toast as extra and two tiny pieces the size of my thum cannot suffice for paying a couple of quid for so I said I would like a proper normal size piece of toast, she came out ten mins later with the toast but I never complain as you never know what they do to your food so I made the best of a sad situation and mad a sad face on my toast for her to find when she collected the dishes. A smile and common courtasy and common sense when making the order up and delivering the goods to the customer would not cost much you know! Plus it’s paying for your wages.

Food was cooked and rubbery I've never been so ill In my life. I've eaten at some really run down places but this barely could pass as food.

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children. We came on a Sunday during lunchtime so the place was fairly busy but they still managed to get the food served relatively quickly which is good. Atmosphere and service were very good. I ordered the Full Monty Grill with extra eggs and most of the it was alright but a couple off things were disappointing. Now I know it's not a gourmet restaurant but I didn't expect my eggs to be fried in half a litter of oil (they were practically swimming in oil). Also, the gammon was just way too salty to eat - Hope they improve on those in the future. The menu is very cheap and every day there is a different promotion. Overall of say you'll definitely get good value for your money

Came in on Sat am to have brunch with a friend before some hospital appts. Received fantastic service from Stuart who was super attentive making sure we were warm enough and food was ok and when we wanted it brought out etc. And great service from Chanel too. Made us feel at ease when we were feeling a bit anxious.

Good breakfast very nice , good staff, friendly service, a good value for money, we had two chicken New Yorkers are quite nice. I just under £12 and midweek special price. It's ok guys set up me 20 minutes and it came out in about 15 so it's pretty good, food was nice. The atmosphere was nice,the bathroom and the toilet smell ,a shame, and some of the chairs what you sit on , are a. bit worn, tired tatty ,it does get busy the staff will lovely came and ass. Was everything ok about the food? it was fine x

Fantastic to see the pub under new management, the improvements are already starting to show! I had actively avoided this place based on negative past experiences and poor-quality food, but this was a much different experience! Particualr mention to the manager Stuart, who helped create a welcoming atmosphere, and is clearly working hard to make a difference. Food was great, things are looking up!

I came here for a saturday afternoon lunch, I have dined here on multiple occasions and never before have I recieved the service I experienced today. The food was not up to standards and the extra sides we ordered never turned up! After expressing this to staff they disappeared for quite some time before returning with one of the missing sides. I expressed that we had all finished our meals and it was too late for the sides to be served. We then had to ask for a refund as nothing was offered to us! The refund for the sides was given and that was the end of it. I am very disappointed and will not be dining here again.

Food was the worst I've ever experienced ordered beef roast dinner turns out it was more of a steak than slices of beef it was so tough knife couldn't cut it veggies were cold and not given enough gravy so had to ask for more complained about the meat we were offered Turkey which was cut from a roll and processed turkey smelt rancid and not edible while staff did all they could and were lovely the over all experience was very disappointing we were refunded all the 3 meals but left hungry. Will never go back

Just had my Sunday Roast dinner at the Thrasher. The price is pretty unbeatable: £10 including a pint of beer. The food was good, including tons of horseradish sauce, and we all left our plates clean. The staff were super-friendly and most of the customers were families.No-fuss, laid-back local pub with great vibes.

Absolute disgusting, just left after ordering roast beef Sunday roast. Carrots were hard, peas also, green beans were rubbery, roast potatoes had no cruch whatsoever, beef was more like a steak, gravy was one lump or two. Yorkshire pudding was like a sponge ball that almost bounced when trying to cut it. I certainly will not return for another meal of any kind. Would like to say staff were apologetic and refunded some money.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ultimate combo was amazing and all were great.

Went this evening for a roast dinner with my wife, was told sarcastically by a young girl in glasses with long frizzy hair that we were too late, and need to arrive before 5pm, as they don’t order enough meat, won’t be going again.

Really lovely place to eat. Friendly staff The only problem is you can't put any suggestions on the AP orders, like removing or adding or even say well done egg, with out having to go up to the bar. It would be nice to change it please.

Not wholly the fault of the pub (always read the small print!) I had converted Clubcard points to vouchers but didn't realise that when you use these any multi savings deal do not apply This meant my £12 voucher only saved about £3 against the price of not using them. I would've been better off not converting and just spending the £6 in Tesco! Perhaps I should've read the T&Cs but the pub would know better than me and I feel they should've pointed out the situation when I was paying I will go again as its a decent good value option but think twice before using Clubcard points

Staff are nice, but no bother with the food. This was the second time. If it was the first, I wouldn't have said anything about it. It was cold, burnt, and lettuce leaves lots of lettuce. Not impressed to be honest

We had not been to The Thrasher for a year or so but having family over from USA for 3 weeks we decided we were going to eat out for most of our holiday. We found The Thrasher to be a perfect place to eat. Very easy to book. Staff were very helpful and friendly, tables always cleaned quickly, managed very efficiently. A very good menu with fantastic deals everyday which gave us a wide affordable choice of meals. Food was delicious, always hot and served with a smile from staff. No salad I ordered and no steak my husband ordered

Was looking for a place to have a family dinner while down from London. I popped in to see if they could accommodate a family meal. The staff were extremely helpful and sorted a table in minutes. We used the QR code for our meal and it was simple and easy to navigate. Our food came out and was really good, from the kids meals, to the burgers, lasagna and tandoori chicken ( which I highly recommended) . The staff were on point and extremely helpful in clearing our plates and asking if we required any additional service. All in all a really good service which I can’t fault at all. When we come back again next year we will definitely pay them a visit again. Ps.. had a great chat with the gentlemen that supports Ipswich that works there. Lovely bloke and told him we would be going to the Ipswich Fulham game, helped us with directions for both the train or bus. Great customer service 👍

We were both welcomed and found a table very quickly before it started getting busier. we both had the all day breakfast which was reasonable value.nice selection of sauces available. only criticism was the toast being very small slices and rather hard.

Popped in for the Wednesday drink and curry night before I had to take my son to karate..50 mins I waited with no prior warning of any problems in their kitchen...so i had to asked for a refund so I could get to my son in time. I was refunded minus the drink and no apology which to be honest you should of gave me my drink for free sitting around for 50 mins...you ov had a problem as no food at all left that kitchen. Won't be using again

Sound atmosphere brilliant price

Well supported local pub eatery. Food and drink served at good prices. Good for young families, groups, and after work drink. Do remember to put your car VRN into the tablet at reception otherwise £100 fine.

Great food, lovely service and very friendly manager.

Adult food was good value, tasty and good portion size, kids pasta was atrocious, soggy, claggy and not fit for consumption. Guybehjnd the bar knew his stuff but was let down by colleagues too busy chatting rather than helping clear the queue. App didn't work at all either.
