The TownHouse in Aberdeen City

The place had a good vibe about it and the food was good, but the service was so slow, we were 30 min for our starters and then another 45 mins for the mains, the place wasn’t even that busy. Definitely do not come here if you are on a time schedule.

Was at Townhouse for my works Xmas night out. There were 13 in total and we were given the front private dining room. It was perfect having our own room and music on the speaker provided. All the group are raving about the food and value for money. Many of the group are keen to go back. 10/10 from us and thank you Townhouse x

Very slow service and when food arrived it was cold. Waited for hot food to come back out but service was very slow and won't be back. Pity as a good venue let down by very poor service.

I was having a very rare night out going to see Marti Pellow at Music Hall and did not know anywhere close by to eat. I did a search and The TownHouse came up. It was really busy with many reservations from folk who had thought to book. We arrived at same time as several other tables however staff managed to fit us in which was appreciated. There was plenty to choose from set menu and all 3 courses devine. Food piping hot and full of flavour. Music was lovely and muted so conversation. Cost of meals and drinks at a good price point fir quality of food and service. I can not fault meal, drinks, service. Anyone going to Music Hall Event I would highly recommend making a reservation. It will be come a firm favourite place to eat. Thank you to all staff that set the tone to a fantastic night out.

My haddock & chips was delicious. They had also a very good cider. The restaurant wasn't full but they would deserve always to be. 🫶

The TownHouse is more recommended as a bar than as a restaurant, as the music is extremely loud and unpleasant, people wanted to have a conversation while eating.

Popped in for a couple of drink before seeing a show at the Music Hall. The place wasn’t overly busy but service at the bar was slow. Went up to the bar for a second drink and was stood waiting quite a while. Only one person working the bar who was busy making cocktails, other staff wiping empty tables. After standing at the bar for a good 5-10 mins, we left. The place looks nice but service was disappointing and the drinks are overpriced.

Very nice and attentive service. The food came quickly and was delicious (mussels, steak, pie, tomato pasta). Our dog was also allowed in. The ambience and furnishings are really chic and the toilets are very clean.

The service was very good. The food (starters, main courses and dessert) tasted excellent. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant.

We ate here on our first day of vacation in aberdeen and what an amazing president this restaurant set for our stay! The staff was so nice, even though we definitely came in unexpected and at an off hour. The food was simply amazing! we ordered the starter platter for 2 and it was enough food to leave us both satisfied, not to mention how amazing everything tasted! The sticky toffee pudding we got for dessert was my personal highlight. Not only was it beautiful to look at, it was also light and soft and super sweet. Just awesome! Since there was no other guests when we came in we got to sit under the fake tree on the couch. The atmosphere and decor is great! it's super cozy while still looking classy. Over all this was an amaxing place to get food! If we weren't so hellbent on trying every restaurant in the vicinity we would have come back for every meal!

Dinner there on Fri 2nd Aug 24. Excellent food and service at a reasonable price. AM Kyle was particularly attentive. Dining area is very comfortable and well laid out. Restaurant was quiet though, possibly due to school holidays but Aberdeen City Council can’t be helping attract custom with local parking charges applying til 8pm, on a Friday night!

We had a booking for 6.00 and arrived shortly before that, we were shown to our table and given menu, we ordered then after 45 minutes I went to enquire where our food was to be Asked “do you want to pay” my reply, I would like food! She came back and said the food elevator was stuck and the food would be reheated and brought out! After another 15 minutes we left in disgust as we were going to the theatre and time had run out. The restaurant was quiet so no excuse

Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat, but the venue is really nice for a civilised drink. Nice range of cocktails served to your table. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Voucher gift for Birthday. Great service, very attentive, but not too much. Food was delicious as was the wine. Just a shame it was quiet but we did book for 4pm!

Been a few times now Always enjoy the food Always enjoy the professional service & banter I receive, normally from Dean (the manager) Always appreciate Harry the bartender who regularly gives me off menu creations I was there pre theatre - it’s a great place if you have something booked at The Music Hall or HMT 4* purely because it was quiet when I was in (4:30 on a Thursday) - however, I enjoyed the quiet

Great place! Beautiful inside, we were running late but called ahead and staff changed out booking. We still managed to get there later than expected and were welcomed with a smile and shown to our table. Managed to get a itison voucher to use for this place on a Saturday which was much better than expected. We chose from a set meal and were given the main menu to choose from also due to me being vegan. I chose the baji starter and curry from the set menu and chocolate cake from the main menu at no additional cost. The food was delicious! Beautifully presented, hot and perfect timing. Very impressed! The staff were so great! Professional. Friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back. It's refreshing to have somewhere like this in Aberdeen with such a good selection of vegan options. Congratulations to the new owners.

Great location, lovely beer on tap and nice Mussels for starter. 25min wait between starter and main less than ideal (before any rush as well), a small lukewarm Hake was disappointing, across from a blue-rare ribeye steak that was ordered medium, with chunky chips that were actually thin frozen ones. All in all disappointing especially for thr price paid, kitchens can have off-days, but that was one hell of off-day!

Brilliant Saturday night! Food was delicious - we opted for the Hake which was cooked to perfection and the chicken Kiev was also just as great, it’s nice to see something a little different in Aberdeen. Will be back soon 👌🏼

Came In on Saturday with some friends, what a hidden gem, great service and amazing food to match, the lemon tart was so good. The place was really busy, such a great thing to see in these times. Will definitely be back!!

Our first visit here and wasn’t sure what to expect. Kicked off with a very friendly greeting. The service continued to be excellent throughout. Really lovely menu for all tastes from standard pub grub to dishes for the more adventurous. All in all, highly recommended.

Nice venue, friendly welcome, food is incredible quality for a reasonable price. Cherry trees could be done with some pots though.

Had a meal here during Aberdeen Restaurant week. Really great service from Theresa who looked after us all evening. Nice cocktails to kick off and then noce wine too. Food was delicious and great value. Really nice aid back atmosphere with space between tables for easy conversation.

Honestly one of the best places to go for a cocktail with your friends or a cheeky date night. The vibes are immaculate and I couldn’t fault the service and drinks one bit. We got served by a young lady called Molly and she went beyond and above for our friend who is a bit picky with allergies with his food, I can’t thank her enough!!!! Will be coming back 😊

We had a wonderful evening of cocktails at the Town House. The staff could not have been nicer. They even made me cocktails that were not on the menu - created from my loose description of what I was feeling like drinking,... and it was an amazing result... like a melted, icey, boozy After Eight. Fab! This is the perfect place to come for a night out. Eileen & Fionn.

Went here with a group of friends service was very slow. It is supposed to be a restaurant but it was more like a disco as we could not hear ourselves for the loud music belting out from big speakers. We asked them to turn it down on several occasions but it seemed to get louder. On leaving we did complain about it but we're told it was broken so could not turn it down. Not likely to be going back

My wife and I had dinner for the first time and we are very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, service and the general atmosphere of this place. The food is very tasty and you can feel the freshness and high quality of the dishes. The service is very nice and professional. The place is very clean and the atmosphere is very nice. I came here as part of Aberdeen Restaurant Week. The service was impeccable, from the greeting at the door, right through the dinner service and even when you leave. I had Ellie as my server and she was great, very attentive and helpful. The food was brilliant, the mussels for starter was lovely, the pork belly main was done very well and the sticky toffee dessert was great. The atmosphere inside was good too. Will definitely be back to experience the main menu!

Aberdeen Restaurant week, we were a table of 8. The waiter was very good and apologised for the problems. The 2 orders of mussels were over cooked and inedible, manager said chef was pleased with the dish!! One order of hamburger, the bun was burnt black, manager thought this was acceptable but would get another bun. Bun arrived cold and not grilled at all. One dish of hake had a hair in it (not on it) - manager said no one in kitchen has long hair. I had to leave after 90 minutes so could not comment on desserts. Would I go back - no!

Had a lovely girls night and was introduced to Dean, Cameron and Harry. We had a lovely experience and even had personalised cocktails created for us. Would highly recommend this venue for food and cocktails.

Me and my friend went here today I have to say we were both very impressed . Beautiful surroundings and comfy. Food was lovely not a thing to complain about and lots of drink. We also had an itison voucher very good value for money. I need to also say the Staff were really superb very attentive nice to see. Marion and Trudy.

I came here today for the first time for drinks after our work Christmas lunch. Very sorry to see some bad reviews on here as I was really impressed with the festive cocktails I tried, thought it was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and found the staff welcoming and attentive. I really hope it does well as I'd like to come back in the New Year. I've lived in the north east for 11.5 years now and this is the most impressed I've been by a bar in Aberdeen.

Poor service, cold food and over priced.

Was excited to try the townhouse out after the epic group decided to revamp the business once again. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. Under trained staff who ignore you and served cold food, so nothing new there. The epic group needs to do better.

First of all , I don’t just want to come on here and talk about the poor experience we had ,this place has huge promise , it is very well presented, it’s a lovely spacious place with character. However it struggled in some departments, Me and my old man went before an event at the music hall, it was quiet and a great opportunity for a quick bite and a beer. I’ll be real honest the service was very poor , it took a long time for a pint of Guinness and a bottle of Peroni. I understand it is becoming the festive season however it took forever for 2 drinks. And also the pint of Guiness came in a bierra moretti glass which is absolutely bizarre , maybe I’m too picky , but a Guinness has to be in a Guinness glass. When my father ordered his burger , the chips were cold , ice berg lettuce was watery , it really wasn’t up to standard. We were bitterly disappointed because we know how much promise this place has , location is very key , staff were extremely helpful and welcoming , it seemed like there wasn’t enough staff to complete the tasks , just to serve quick pints for a location so close to the music hall , it would certainly haul a load of people in if they served a quick cold pint. I really hate going in on local businesses but we were really let down by the service and I am only wanting to share this so that the business can improve , because we certainly see potential , if the restaurant emails me direct to discuss further I will more than be happy to remove this review

Enjoyed an excellent dinner in a lovely setting. The staff was wonderful as well.

Delicious food. Top quality. Kudos to the chef. Lovely atmosphere. Classy without being over the top. Fantastic sound system, so although the music was loud you could still comfortably hold a conversation. Friendly staff. Great selection of drinks. All round great experience! I'll be back for more.

Never got asked about our food when we had been sitting for half hour to busy taking pictures of food that they had made then waited ages for our food ,at least another half hour then was told by two members of staff it was coming wanted to walk out then food came it was cold & not good we won't be back just terrible service .

I got really good service from a boy called Ryan was very helpful and welcoming, would definitely come back
