Food was brilliant, lovely staff, very welcoming! Beth was very polite and helpful. Great customer service.

Food is lovely but the vegan menu needs to be improved rather than just a couple of options. My mother in law ordered some drinks from the bar to come to the table and they took 25 minutes to get to us, she only ordered 4 drinks and had eaten her food by the time she went and grabbed them from the tray that was sitting on the bar. Most of the time if I needed something I was getting up and having to find the waitress or someone to help with what we needed. So the service needs improving but the food was very good.

Beth is such a sweetheart always smiling and happy to chat she looks after us so well and always seems hardworking and happy … it’s lovely to see xx

Sat 18/1/25: Revisited to give one more try and was pleasantly surprised this time, service was just right! Food was fab as per our last visit. We will definitely return. Thank you! 12/1/25:Visited for Sunday roast. Food was lovely and really good portion sizes. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great, noone asked if our food was ok (luckily it was), then after we finished our meal we sat for approx 30 mins and were considering having a dessert, but with such a long wait and no further attention from any waiting staff, decided it would take too long. So I called out to a waiter that we wanted to pay the bill and after what seemed ages, I had to go up to the bar to ask to pay the bill. Our table still hadn't been cleared! When the waiter saw me, he realised he had forgotten my request. Such a shame, you have everything in place for a great experience, but this poor lack of service really lets you down. Felt very disappointed upon leaving. I am sure you do not want your guests to feel this way. Please train your staff to be more attentive. Thanks.

Popped in for a cheeky pint this evening and as always the staff were superbly attentive especially Jeremy (Jezza!) who is always finds the right level of professionalism balanced with just the right dash of friendly banter.. this is a wonderful congenial venue, that always goes the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome and at home. In this time of commercial enterprises it’s nice to see a venue that balances the pound note whilst endeavouring to always support and be an integral part the local community!

Ok…disclaimer: I’ve been here 4 x times in 2024 and recently 03/01/25. The first couple of times I went here it was actually okay and I even went as far as to organise our office team lunch here as well and no complaints however, the last two times I’ve been here it has really gone downhill and the last time we went was an absolute joke. The batter on the fish was strange and tasted vile. I think they’re struggling with staff here hence why food was late and just plain…off par. For what you pay I think the quality should be far higher. Plenty of parking and good wheelchair access here.

I would have hoped this place would have improved but alas it has not! Toliets were a discrace with No Toilet Tissue & No Soap. Place is being Run by Students from a Student Union Group with No Sense of Responsability! Had the Steak & Malbec Pie which is Nice but the Portion is Mean! Service is Very Slow!

This was my second visit, and once again, it exceeded my expectations! The three-course meal was absolutely delicious and offered excellent value for money. The service was outstanding, with staff making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Many items on the menu were not available. Took over 20 minutes to be served after sitting down and had to get up and ask. Meal took ages to arrive with no offer of condiments. Even had to get up to ask for the bill. And this wasn't even a busy evening!

I had the sea bass it was amazing, I would definitely have it again. The pork belly also looked lovely and was enjoyed by all who had it.

Atmosphere is excellent, staff are pleasant and kind, food service was quick and some of the best pub food i’ve had!

Fantastic service and food. Staff were able to accommodate a party of 30 people. People could socially distance comfortably. All three courses came out and n a timely manner and all food was hot. Staff were very attentive.

Awful service. We booked a table for Sunday lunch but when we arrived on time we were told our table wasn’t ready. We were sat on a bar table/sofas in an uncomfortable and dark corner, and told to eat there. When I questioned the waitress, I was told the table we booked wouldn’t be ready for ‘at least half an hour’. No apologies were given and after sitting there for 5 mins and not offered a drink we decided to leave. This is not how you run a business or treat customers!!

Service was excellent, prices were abit too high for the quality of food - however, it wasn’t terrible.

I was in the other day and the food was excellent. Our main server Raphael brought out our food just as we finished our starters and put a smiley face on the bill. Brilliant experience would definitely recommend going and having a meal with your family.

We went for a Sunday roast, and booked a table for early lunch. When ordering at 1pm, we were told they'd already run out of the veggie roast. With no other remotely similar veggie options (alternatives were stew, margarita pizza and vegan burger), we opted for a fish and chips, thinking it was the safe option. It wasn't. It was the worst fish and chips we've ever had. So bad in fact that my wife sent hers back and got something else, as a good chunk of her fish was missing from within the batter. I stuck with mine as it wasn't as bad, but it really was the worst fish in fish and chips ever - rather than firm, tasty chunky flakes, the fish was more like tasteless mush. About as mushy as the tiny portion of mushy peas it came with.

Rubbish menu for vegetarians - very little variety and it's been the same for years. Last couple of times I've come they've ran out of the few menu items they have.

Very nice pub with friendly staff. Ollie was great on the bar, tip him more often.

Everything was brilliant the burger’s i have had at this pub are excellent and the staff are so kind and caring snd got my food done in rapid time making my experience even better. All in all one of the best pubs ive been to in a while would definitely recommend it

Nice venue, table waiting was good then again it was a Weds afternoon. Pork belly was excellent but the carrots were hard. The Malbec pie was tasty but broccoli was hard too. Not quite al dente. However, didn't spoil a good time.

We went to have Sunday roast so we ordered drinks and roast dishes for 4 of us. The food was delicious but the waitress kept asking us what if we wanted to order more drinks or desserts but we didn’t want to. I feel that it’s a bit rude if you want to turn the table for other customers by keep asking what if we want to order more food or what if we want to pay bill 😤

We held our daughter’s christening and 1st birthday here on 13/10 and the service and staff were amazing from start to finish. Along the whole process of booking and planning Jamie was helpful and accommodating. We were allowed access to the pub before opening to decorate and during the celebrations the food was lovely and everything felt very taken care of so we could just enjoy ourselves. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming and willing to accommodate any requests that we have. We always enjoy our meals here too and it's great to know we have somewhere local that carers to all our dietary requirements and serves such tasty food!

A bit of a late review, as we visited in August, but we enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The food was delicious, and we hope to return soon. The service by Favian was fantastic. We had an ill member of our party who needed to stay outside, but we were accommodated to keep them hydrated and were given the option of taking food out for them if they felt better. It was an unusual scenario, but Favian went above and beyond.

They serve a good steak sandwich, lovely chips with a pot of beef dripping sauce. On this particular visit however I had a nice cool soda water with ice. The staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive.

A thoroughly enjoyable family meal out on a Sunday. The booking was straight forward on the online booking system. I had asked to be seated in a dog friendly area which was arranged. The food was delicious. Some of our party had the Sunday roast, some had dishes from the main menu and they were all of excellent quality. Best of all was the service. Joseph who looked after our table was attentive, friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a great dining experience!

Lovely visit, king prawns were delicious, compliments to the chef. The atmosphere was pleasant with friendly inviting waitresses. Thank you to Holly who made our visit special.

Had a lovely meal here on Monday. The food (Steak & Ale Pie & Seabass) was hot, tasty, plenty of it & reasonably priced. Our server, Holly, couldn't do enough for us & always with a smile on her face. Would happily recommend this restaurant and am sure will be visiting it again soon.

We came here unexpectedly after heavy rain and flooding stopped us going to our original destination. Initially we were welcomed and served quickly but then the staff seemed to disappear and there was a long wait to be offered dessert. Some guests were rather noisy.

Well the food was fabulous. Not easy to seamlessly present 11 people with all their chosen food at the same time . Everyone commented on how good it was. Our very special day way was completely enhanced by the food and service. We managed to see Tanya the cook and thank her personally and everyone else that made it such a lovely day.Thank you
