First visited this little gem of a cafe last year while camping in Flamborough. When we returned this year, as soon as we got into Bridlington, we went to see if Fred the Bread was still there, and were relieved to see that he is. The sausage and egg sandwiches are the best I've ever had. Freshly baked bread, and runny eggs. The Bread Pudding is out of this world too, proper home made and really tasty! Really friendly service and reasonable prices, you cant go wrong!! Will definitely be returning whenever we are in the area!!

This is a MASSIVE MINUS score We have just eaten here but NEVER again the food is less than edible the owner is so arrogant, we just seen some disabled guy politely ask to use the toilet and was told in no uncertain terms no your mot a customer, we felt for the guy he only asked simple question. Most people would have just walked straight in without asking, so we will never use the place again The place is small so the scruffy outraged colour scheme was even more noticeable. Our rating for this place MINUS 100.

This is a lovely cafe as well as bakery. Prices very reasonable, very clean, owner very friendly, good deals on the crumpets and cup of tea. Would recommend anyone to go here.

Fred the bread is an old fashioned get up at 4 am and bake fresh bread guy. His bakery opened a few months ago and is trying to establish himself in the town. His offers include 6 jam filled doughnuts as a family snack or full giant breakfast . Fresh bread, cakes, pies or sandwiches are all made on the premises which does look like a small cafe from the front. It is next door to Yorksire trader so you cannot miss it. Call in and have a chat with Fred he welcomed our questions about his bread making routine. The young lady assistant was very friendly and quickly provided our order. The shop is readily accessible direct from the pavement so old and young alike can go in and smell the bread before parting with your dough!

A good well priced breakfast with a quick service. This is a small relatively new cafe. It is a nice place that will probably become even better with time.

One of the best Chinese Takeaway's in Bridlington, in my opinion, the chips are bang on, nice and crispy.

We were on holiday and went in for a coffee, my husband needed the toilet so he queued up to go. Then the server behind the counter asked him not to stand there as "he would scare customers and the lady in the toliet" ( my husband is 6ft 3 and has a couple of tattoos on him and is coloured) nothing scary about him at all. He also has early stages of dementia, so my husband didn't respond went to the toliet then sat down. the server then came over and said "i hope you dont take offence you are a scary looking bloke". I will say I found him to be extremely rude. I was very upset my husband is kind and loving and wouldn't hurt anyone. I will be reporting this further as it is not ok. And it is social profiling.

We were in Bridlington for a couple of days last week and discovered this little gem of a bakery with a café next door to The Yorkshire Trading Company. The first day we had a regular breakfast which included tea and coffee at a very reasonable price of £3.50. The bread had been freshly baked and was out of this world. The following morning we came back again and this time I had a bacon sandwich and my husband had the breakfast again, both were excellent. We couldn't leave without buying some loaves for our freezer and jam doughnuts which were wonderful. The fresh cream cakes on display are just so tempting and everything looked scrummy. I am so glad we discovered Fred the Bread and his fantastic bakery. I can't recommend the Upper Crust enough. You've just got to try it, you won't be disappointed.

Really tasty food, but you need to be very hungry! Had the oven-baked meatballs for a starter which were lovely but, to be honest, were more than enough for a main! The Penne Inferno Marinara was another delight, cooked to perfection but again, rather too much of it and have to leave some (which I really don't like doing). Shame Peroni not available on draught anymore, but great to see Liqueurs like Drambuie available. The waiter was rather quiet at first, but he livened up and got more chatty as the evening ensured. So, overall, please keep up the quality but reduce the portion size would be our advice.
