Tuesday and Wednesday both worth checking out. Can't beat half price pizzas. Or 8 quid gourmet burgers. The deserts are huge too.

The best carvery in England without a doubt. Have travelled far and wide sampling just to see if anywhere could even come close to the levels of this place, and have still never found one. Monster plates, self pick on everything but the meat, allowing for amazing portions 🔥love this place for what it is; a great place to eat a carvery!

Typical "Charlie Chalk", inexpensive and filling food, don't expect haute cuisine. Looked very dated inside, but welcoming and friendly service. In fact, since I last wrote the above the furniture and furnishings are looking really worn and as for the carpet, bordering on " sticky" 😒 Same friendly and welcoming service from the staff 🙂

Very accommodating for a large table of people, great service and good food! We unfortunately had to cancel our table over Christmas due to illness, and they were very understanding.

Really good breakfast today , all you can eat 😋 and mushrooms are now included ingredients price ! Superb and got to see the friendly short manager for a catch up win win!

Myself and family came for Christmas day dinner and it was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival the customer service was excellent, the host showed us to our table and the table was beautifully set and all of the staff helped us feel welcome. Once we settled the waitress came and took our drinks order and she was lovely and polite. The starters came out once we said we was ready for them and the food was delicious and nice and hot. Quick and efficient service made our Christmas Day so perfect and allowed us to sit back and relax. The carvery was amazing as always, fresh and just the perfect Christmas dinner. The staff were always checking everything was okay and making sure we had enough drinks, the puddings were also incredible. The whole time we were there it was great service, great food and all around a really lovely Christmas atmosphere. Everyone did an amazing job. So thankyou very much

Great night out, Turkey was a bit dry but was virtually the end of the joint.

Had a lovely meal. Staff very helpful especially Lee who took great care to understand my grandsons allergies and get him safe food whilst being totally respectful. This is one of the few places we feel safe taking him because they take so much care.

The Carvery is awesome so fresh and tasty and plenty of veg options . Unfortunately the mac and cheese wasn't made and we were waiting for a very long time before this was rectified. This is the 1st time it hasn't been cooked when ordered but not the 1st time we have had to wait for the food.

Went for our first time today. Starters were lovely and same for the carvery but waited for an hour for burgers. Asked a waitress and she had no clue. Got a refund in the end.

We hired the function room for a Christmas Party of 30 food was great, Lee couldn't do enough to help us and make sure everyone got the food they ordered the carvery was excellent as always.

Staying at Travelodge Cringleford for a few days Christmas shopping in Norwich we wanted somewhere for our evening meal. Came across The Village Inn on the Internet so booked a table. What a great place, great food, we had the carvery, very helpful friendly staff. We will remember this place for our next visit to the area. Wish we lived closer so it could become a regular place to eat

I didn’t like the fact it was really hot in there , i didn’t enjoy my meal because it was to hot and the chef when serving the carvery was coughing and blow his nose and didn’t wash his hands . That is not very good food hygiene. You need to re train you staff on food hygiene and services. There was no salt on the table . But good news the beef was lovely

Place where looks you can get everything you desire, and expect from fine customer journey! Let’s start from well prepared and presented food, helpful and friendly staff, good prices good atmosphere and optimistic cheerful management. Sometimes you need small bits to make you want come back again.. and yes they have a lot good stuff there to surprise you and make you leave with big smile on your face! Happy was able to donate money to feed homeless as that’s could be escalated more in UK! Well done Village inn team will come back again for sure! 🤓🙌

I had a lovely two course meal which was lovely, fish chips and mushy peas followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard and coffee made by a cute short manager (was told to write that lol) but he is lovely with a good sense of humour !

Very disappointed, that we haven't found this place before. Four people in the party and we were all very happy with our experience. Three people had a carvery, one had the vegan burger which was very, very tasty. Desserts were really good. Lots of choice on the menu, not just a carvery. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we will certainly be going back, very soon. Cannot recommend highly enough.

First can i give you a bit of background information So last Sunday we booked in advance and went to our usual place in Dereham, Norfolk for a Sunday carvery but were not told that the ovens to cook the meat in were broken and they did not have a carvery on .... thinking this was a last minute thing we accepted it and ordered off the normal menu spending £106 with 2 drinks each and NO desert because we were told at 1hr 15mins our table was booked again and we had to leave omg 😲 .... we also found out later that the oven large enough to cook the meat 🍖 had not been working for the last 7 weeks ...... (yes 7 weeks).... we felt a bit cheated not being told earlier when we booked ..... so following a recommendation we booked The Village Inn at Little Melton and it's now our Sunday Roast 100 % .... The Sunday Carvery was hot and plenty and tasted amazing 👏 The Rocky Road Sundae 🍨 was amazing .... we spent just over £100 including 2 drinks each for 5 of us which i think is very good value but more importantly the atmosphere & service was excellent, everyone was so helpful especially the barman who was so friendly and a special mention to Nikki who looked after us so well but tbh so did all the staff and we had a wonderful Sunday carvery well done 👏 we were so impressed we have booked for next Sunday already..... please don't think we're always eating out on a Sunday it's another family affair 7 of us this time .... sorry about must first picture I was enjoying the carvery too much and forgot to take a picture 📸 from the start lol 😆 Only suggestion would be a vegan ice cream 🍦 for the desert please 🙏 😋.

Very bad experience on this visit, got served wrong food, pudding was not what we ordered, was given refund for the mistakes made. Won't let it stop us visiting again but won't go as a group next time.

Large car park and not too far off the Southern bypass. Good choice of drinks and a great carvery.

We had our yearly family of 19 meal for us to all meet up and enjoy food here like we do every year chosen by our 96yr old nan.. we've been here many of time and always go back for the delightful food but 2nite was so poor I will not be returning unless the problem is changed. Everyone ordered food which I went to order at till wer the guy was calm and collected who sorted me out and went over order and double checked also done our drinks as we went thru order I thought perfect that's that done and sat down with family 15mins later 8 of us went up for carvery and I was disgusted I and many other wer getting pushed about by people with just eat bags pushing thru the que which was long and slow and making it very busy area to stand.. I have then stood watching wats actually happening and thers people ordering takeouts wer staff r taking food from same bar to fill pots for takeout which in turn was slowing the whole process down thus causing long ques and some stressed customers... this is a real shame as it's always such a nice place to eat.. so I eventually got my food and went and sat down wer the rest of table had already eaten thers accept 2 who had been forgotten which left us 8 eating ours whilst rest of table watched and 2 waiting for thers... this needs to be changed guys.... pay attention to ur visiting customer rather than the ones sitting on ther sofas The just eat guys need to give way to ur visiting customers rather than forcing ther way about or pick orders up from different door or hatch

I'm not sure how the carvery rules apply as I had the works and the other people I was with had a basic and I had less meat still, so maybe the works might not be as good as expected.

My family and I booked for Christmas day at this place in Little Melton. and our bookings were accepted and deposits taken. Now we have been informed our booking has been cancelled because u can't serve 7 people in the allotted time. This has left us with nowhere else to go that we get in at this point. I'm disgusted with this service

Took a long while to get served as the only two serving were too busy talking. Waited for quite a few minutes for someone to come from kitchen to serve carvery. Gravy was so thick you could have plastered the wall with it. Seriously not as good as it used to be.

Nice meal, good service reasonably priced

Went for the £6 carvery last night with my grandma and Demi greeted us at the door and was really lovely with my grandmother when taking us to the table. The carvery was delicious, even though it was quite busy there was still plenty for us to have! Demi brought over our desserts and they were fantastic, definitely would go back again!

I was a regular customer here and I have been for about 3 years now, however from today I will not be stepping a foot back in the door. The food is nice, nothing special though and it’s a pretty good atmosphere with the regulars in there, Shame about the manager though. I worked there as a cleaner for 2 weeks and because of that NASTY piece of work I left (definitely wouldn’t recommend being a cleaner there because he expects a miracle in 3 hours!!! )He doesn’t care about anyone but himself, constantly saying bad things about his staff and treat him them like dirt on the bottom of his shoes. Definitely would NOT recommend it this place whilst he’s there!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food was very nice… chef service was very poor😡 we stood in line at the Carvery along with about 6 others waiting for a chef to appear to carve for us… 2 chefs appeared from the kitchen.. walked through the carvery totally ignoring us… we waited for about 8-10 minutes before one of the chefs mentioned came about and served us… Apologies for the wait… well tbh it was downright rude… We won’t be back…

First time visit Not impressed. Surly attitude at till when paying Waiting an age for food items to be topped up leaving food already on plate to go cold Poorly presented and dishes just topped up into grease filled empty ones Table waitress was pleasant but she seemed embarrassed at poor service from kitchen I was one of lucky ones it looked to be getting worse once I was seated. I won't bother again

Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner with my boyfriend last night, our server, Demi, was lovely, chatted with us just enough, and super helpful with deciding our dishes! She managed to convince us to get a dessert and I have no regrets. The bubble waffle in particular was mouthwatering!

A friend won a pizza competition so 3 of us went to share it. After questioning the size of the pizza offered to the size of the pizza pictured, Courtney was excellent and made us the large one. Very enjoyable and Lee was great with my cousins ADHD child who was having a bad day x Both made our girly catchup more enjoyable ty x

We have just been here for my son’s 5th birthday and Nikki made it an extra special occasion for him! She had a chat with him about what he’d been doing for his birthday then said she’d organise something special for him. Being a 5 yr old he obviously didn’t forget this but she came through with a double scoop of vanilla and strawberry ice cream with strawberry sauce and marshmallows! Needless to say we had a very happy birthday boy!! Thank you Nikki :)

On my visit here today I must say it was absolutely outstanding food and service. The sausages were succulent, the bacon was tip top. Eggs cocked to perfection and everything else was spot on. I can’t recommend this highly enough and will be returning on a weekly basis. The service received was top tier and all the staff were very friendly and professional. 5 stars across the board from me

Decided to pop into The Village Inn last Sunday. Arrived to find virtually no food available and growing queue of customers, who had been waiting for some time. Were told by staff who appeared almost rude and dismissive that it would be "5mins", but took over 30 mins from arrival to sitting down with food. Having ordered mushrooms whilst paying these didn't arrive until we'd finished, despite asking two of the waitresses whilst we were eating and when they they had clearly been flash fried and were scaldingly inedible. I'm really sorry to have to post a review like this as I've been going to The Village Inn for years, I didn't raise these issues during our visit due to the demeanor of the staff, as they are not the usual weekday ones like Lynne who are very helpful. Not sure we'll be returning....

Came for lunch with some friends. We had 2 carveries and 2 sandwiches. Food was lovely sandwiches were packed full of filling, brilliant choices for the carvery. We were looked after by nikki who was so friendly and kept us laughing. Thankyou for a brilliant lunch and great service.

The vegetables looked liked they had been cooked the day before and were freezing cold it was only 15 minutes after opening time disgusting 🤮

Ordered 2 carvery via deliveroo , they turned up with no meat in either , spoke to someone at the restaurant and they didn't admit they had missed putting it in , even suggested that the poor delivery driver might have taken it which would be funny if not so disgusting to suggest that. The bag was sealed and the containers fill to the brim with vegetables and mash. Need to learn when you make a mistake hold your hands up and admit it. Poor
