I had Beef roast dinner. It's was okay.

We visited christmas day and overall enjoyed it. On arrival was prosecco but no non alcoholic alternative unfortunately. I didn't like the soup but others enjoyed their pate starter. The turkey roast was really yummy and portion size was brilliant. Two plates were missing stuffing but we all just shared. However one of our party got beef and said it was really dry and wondered why it was served in a dish rather than a plate. Missing a yorkshire pudding. The apple pie was gorgeous and the toffee crunch was also nice. The christmas pudding should have been warm as it wasn't very nice cold. We think the ice cream sundaes had been frozen most of the morning as there was alot of ice in the dishes. We think it would have been a nice touch to have been offered a complimentary coffee at the end even if they charged a little extra. We also think it may have needed another person on the bar who maybe knew what they was doing and could use the till too. Possibly another member of waiting on staff to help with waiting times. The place was beautifully decorated, really cosy, lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. All in all a really lovely day and we would go back. I like to leave reviews as the pub doesn't read minds and maybe would like some feedback.

We hadn't visited this pub for a while but we enjoyed a lovely family meal here the other day. Everyone in our group commented on how nice the food was, proper home cooked with good sized portions. Lots of menu options to choose from, something for everyone. The pub itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent. Highly recommend the food.

My partner and i went for a lovely Sunday roast today. Honestly the best roast dinner i have had. The service was very quick, even though they were busy and the decoration and atmosphere was so relaxing.

A lovely breakfast with Santa this morning 🎅….. the whole morning was amazing, atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were pleasant and attentive. The place is decorated beautifully and the children absolutely loved it. A lovely breakfast with tea, coffee and juice available to help yourself to. We will be back again next year 🫶🏼

A group of six of us went on a Wednesday evening for something to eat and then to do the quiz. Didn’t get off to a good start when we were told they had no booking online for us. However, they did manage to find us a table. When the group member who had made the booking turned up we explained the situation. However, she said she had made the booking over the phone, not online. So not the best of starts. Menu looked good with a range of options. Also a number of various offers on and a specials board near the bar. I went for the fish and chips and asked to switch the mushy peas for garden. Others choose Chilli or lasagne for their mains with others opting for a starter and a dessert rather than a main meal. I was very disappointed with my fish and chips. The fish was so dry and tasteless. In hindsight I regret not asking for it to be replaced. I did mention it to the server who did say she would relay that to the kitchen. In my opinion the fish had been fried in oil that was too hot and / or placed under a heat lamp to keep it warm after cooking whilst the other meals were prepared. Fortunately the dessert I ordered was a lot better. They had an offer on running Wednesday to Friday I believe. All desserts other than cheese and biscuits only £4.50. I opted for the cheesecake. This was mince pie flavour and came with the option of pouring cream or ice cream. Unfortunately the first dessert presented to me was definitely not cheesecake. The second had cream when I had asked for ice cream. The third time it came out it was correct and I really enjoyed it. To be honest the service was a bit hit and miss but in mitigation they did seem very busy. I liked the venue. Really well decorated inside for Christmas and lovely and warm. No skimping on heating here. We were sat near a radiator for our meal and this was on throughout. We moved down into the bar area and they have a real fire going throwing out some much welcomed heat. The quiz was well run and we would probably go to that again. However, I definitely would not order the fish and chips.

I'm a stranger in this pub I lost my bank card the people karmel lucia and leon helped me out to the point I stopped worrying. I'd recommend the Walton arms to the world . Even the people that are pissd r happy this is a go to pub because of the people that work here .. . Xx

Great pub. The food has always been amazing and portion sizes are great, the service from Andrew and his team is brilliant everytime. Very dog friendly too in the bar area but has the restaurant side too if you don't want to be near dogs. Nice and relaxed atmosphere everytime we have been

We had a lovely meal today at waltonarm altham..the steak Guinness pie and mince onion mash veg was very good.plus we took home strawberry cheese cake and Bonofi pie Delishers. Enjoyed it thanks to all staff at Walton. See you soon ❤️❤️

Always a welcome from staff. My dog much appreciates the water & treat station when we stop off on our walk. Able to eat in the bar area with the dog. Also lovely restaurant area to eat in when go with the family. Well presented food & ample portions. Good range of drinks on offer. Different entertainment advertised for weekends.

Excellent friendly bar staff, and excellent Lager. The chicken wings are excellent.

Place was great inside, bit lacking in atmosphere but it was pretty empty, no music on or anything so our big table made up for it. Food was ok, disappointed that all the roasties were burnt and some of the food was a bit cold, some of the food was over done. The front of house staff were all friendly and attentive. They were always happy to help, brilliant job ladies!

They only lost out due to no draft beer, due to a fault, which meant the beer that should have come with the meal didn't, what was annoying was that they would not give a bottle in place of the draft beer.

Excellent car park with plenty of space, delicious roast with very nice potatoes, recommend the chicken over the lamb. Quick, friendly service and warm atmosphere. Great value for money 10/10 we'd come back again if we visited the area again.

Amazing service and the roast was absolutely delicious. Plenty of meat and plenty of veg which I think always make a nice change. The fish on the fish and chips was a little smaller than expected but still tasty. If you have space for a pudding then definitely try the strawberry tart, it was amazing!! Make sure to book as it is popular!

Lovely place, lovely food, new ownership who work very hard. Nice beer garden and staff go the extra mile to help. Well worth a visit, you'll not be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing place. Went with three friends. I had the hunters chicken and it was absolutely delicious. Best hunters chicken I have ever had. So much chicken, bacon and chorizo and lashings of barbecue sauce and loads of cheese, amazing. Plus the chunky chips were fab, best chips ever. Also ordered were two steak burgers with fries and a steak ciabatta. Outstanding. Everyone loved their food and portions are massive. On top of the best food around, the staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is brilliant. Best place to go for food for sure. We will definitely be back and already planned our next visit for later this month. Highly recommend big time!

Hidden Gem! My husband & I have just eaten at the Walton Arms. I can honestly say that it was the best meal we’ve had in decades. Fresh and bursting with flavour. The setting is relaxed and perfectly presented by people who actually cared and obviously take absolute pride in their work. We can’t recommend the Walton Arms highly enough Thank you and see you again soon.

Normally I'd tell staff members that the food is good if it truly is but that wasn't the case here. It used to be quite good but since it's changed hands in my opinion the food is no longer up to scratch. I had steak and Guinness pie. Well it was more like Guinness pie because I think there was a shortage of cows to provide the steak. My Mrs had a roast beef dinner and that was awful. The meat was like rubber. Terrible. My father-in-law had gammon and this was clearly burnt and black. He said it was the worst piece of gammon he'd ever had. I won't be eating there again plus they've taken peroni off the pumps. We went for my brother in laws birthday. After ordering drinks, we were shown to our table and perused the menu. The meals soon came and were lovely, tasty and hot. Steak & ale pie, braised steak with mash & veg and a mixed grill. Followed by coffees. No room for desserts

Good evening, we've been in tonight as a group of six, 4 out of 6 got roast dinner, 2 got braised beef, unfortunately the food was inedible and most was left on the plate, one of the braised beef had a piece of plastic in which was taken back and redone, the vegetables on all plates were solid and not cooked, roast potatoes were oily and full of grease looking as though they were deep fat fried to be reheated, to start on the meat, the meat was tough and chewy, very fatty and unbearable to eat due to the texture, one of us paid extra for lamb which was also the same inedible and too tough to eat. Although the main with the plastic inside was redone, we had no apology from staff apart from Andrew who was fab. When taking the plates at the end of the meal, she asked how the food was and we said so so she just repeated the words so so and didn't ask what was wrong with the food, we also didn't get any compensation or money knocked off the bill for this plastic being in the food. Must say Andrew the young gentleman was absolutely fab and served us quickly and with such an approachable and kind manner, no fault on his behalf. First time we have been to this pub for food and will unfortunately be the last. We came today as we had seen very high ratings and reviews but unfortunately these didn't meet expectations and we will not be returning. Many returns Unhappy customers

Reopened Again in the new year, tried twice now and the food is great, as well as the service and Lesley (waitress) a credit to the job by being very nice, welcoming and asking if everything was ok…. It was more than ok on both occasions and the steak is pretty damn good too. A* will always go for food and a pint or 2 🤫😂

Haven't been here for a while but food was fantastic and good portion sizes. Was great to see Lesley who I worked with there years ago who was great as always. The calamari was the nicest I have had for a while and my steak was perfectly cooked. Service great by all. Good friendly atmosphere Keep doing what you are doing guys . We will be back soon xx

Very pricey for what it offers

It had been years since we visited here and we met up for a family get together. A warm welcome and a good atmosphere hits you as you walk in. Very well presented and had plenty of customers while we were there. Good selection of food and drink and very helpful staff. Also has a large outdoor seating area.

Great place for food and drinks! We had never visited before but we will 100% be back soon. The management and the lady behind the bar are very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was brilliant and the portion sizes we're extremely generous including the children's meals! The menu has a great choice and the atmosphere inside is lovely also!

Wow!!!! What can I say since the new guys took over the atmosphere and the food has improved sooooo much!!!! Absolutely loved everything. Entertainment is top notch too

Great service and staff. Only suggestion is the gammon could have the choice of an egg or pineapple and the children's roast a choice of potatoes.

I heard some good feedback about this place, I wasn't disappointed , great service, staff, lovely food., My only suggestion is the Sunday menu could be more varied.

I tried this restaurant after hearing good reviews about it, So glad we did it was very good indeed, food, staff and atmosphere was spot on. Highly recommended.

Just visited with parents. Meal was delicious and portion that big couldn't fit pudding in. Have one next time. Definitely recommend cheese n onion pie and all other meals looked/were delicious. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you Walton Arms see you again soon

Attended my ex mother-in-law's wake, staff were very caring and they put on a lovely spread. The staff were caring enough to ask who was driving before pouring out the mini Guinness shooters for us.

Pubs like you want them to be - nice range of beers on tap, great home cooked board of specials, and service that makes you feel you're a welcome old friend.

Husband had sausage and mash with and really enjoyed it. I had the lasagne it was very dry think they forgot to put the tomato sauce in between layers. Very disappointing 😞

Was driving past here and decided to go in for something to eat. We were not disappointed.. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly member of staff who showed us to our table. Gave us a menu and then took our drinks order. I ordered my usual fish and chips. And I was not disappointed., Nice big portions, perfectly cooked fish and just the right amount of chips. All in all great value for money and a perfect pint of San Miguel too. 🍺 Will definitely be back.

Such a lovely village pub with a great team of staff. Unfortunately on our last visit the food wasn't great, which is a shame because I've been quite a few times over the years and the food has always been fantastic. They're having a menu change at the moment, so I sincerely hope they bring back the lamb shank - it's the number one reason I come here when I visit family! I went to Altham Primary and now live in London, I've not found a better lamb shank anywhere else!

Nice pub, with a smashing location and a wonderful service team. I like the music they play which is not too loud, and it is very much in keeping with the venue's low key ambience. Food is okay.
