The Waterside Pub & Grill in Warrington

Visited the Waterside with our furry friend and the food was great, the dog was able to sit with us inside at the table and we ordered from the main menu, the ultimate smoked cheese burger, wifey ate sirloin steak as always cooked to her requests and the boys ate chicken nuggets and although posher than usual not a crumb was left to be seen. Paul the manager was great and ensured we suitably quenched thank you for a pleasant experience.

Booked a table for 16 a surprise for mums 79th birthday, great service,atmosphere & gorgeous food, everybody commented how nice the meals were, thankyou for a lovely evening, I will be back in the near future.

A pleasant, welcoming venue with a relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. Our friendly server, Lee, was attentive without being intrusive.

I had a lovely meal, I went out with my family for a meal. I had a lovely crispy chicken burger which was delicious very big but nice the sauce was my favourite part. Our waiter was very nice and friendly and very happy. 100% recommend

The food was nice,shame they've opted out of taking the vouchers. The annoying thing was asking for the unfinished nice macaroni cheese to be boxed up and the salad covered in dressing being put into the same boxes,that we didn't touch and went all over the macaroni. To let everyone know further to the visit and originally putting this review on I was contacted by them and asked to email them about this and what could be done to make things better. I replied,also putting how there was no mention of ruining the food we took home and have not received any response.

Friendly and amazing staff. Breakfast is gorgeous! And Adele who runs the breakfast is honestly lovely. Gladly return more often! Great with kids, kids loved the activities with breakfast.

We spent New Year’s Eve at this delightful venue with my partner and our dog, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was surprisingly peaceful, and we appreciated the lovely seating area that provided water bowls and cozy blankets for our furry friend. The food was enjoyable, though there was a small hiccup when my egg didn’t arrive with my gammon; however, the staff quickly resolved this issue. Unfortunately, both my partner and I have since experienced some illness, which we suspect may be food-related. Despite this setback, the ambiance and dog-friendly touches made for a memorable evening.

Excellent service when we walked on with a group of 10 for dinner without a booking. Good simple food well prepared.

Lovely rooms and amazing staff, close to town centre

Arrived with my friend for a catch up and some tea. When arriving we was given a table and asked what we would like the guy took our order and my usual order is the grilled chicken burger with spicy mayo. However the guy said to me we cannot do that as it’s not gluten free I said it is gf as I’m a regular and always order this when we come to your pub of the NGC menu. Anyway he walked away put the order through the till which left us very confused on what was happening. Our starters came really cold which was saddening and then our mains come and the gluten free order was not what we ordered at all. I did make them aware however they just said oh I’m sorry and that was it. The gf burger bun was so dry it was inedible so I had to leave that and then the chicken was very gooey and awful which led me to not even eat the meal. Myself and my friend went outside for some fresh air which we did let the lady on the till aware of which she said was fine and there was an elderly blonde lady employee who seen us walk to the smoking area and gave us a very awful funny look. I’m assuming this is because we went to head to the smoking area and hadn’t paid but as stated we did inform them we will be back in as we was outside getting fresh air. We love coming to the waterside but this time around I was very saddened with the quality of food and customer service was diabolical. Never had this bad of an experience with the restaurant.

Not dog friendly and raw food. Advertise themselves as dog friendly but aren't. Just because you let dogs in and provide a water bowl doesn't make you dog friendly. Felt unwelcome as soon as entered and couldn't relax, wanted to leave asap as not friendly. Then food arrived and it was raw and cold. Was replaced but after a mouthful of raw batter and uncooked cauliflower felt nauseous and couldn't eat the replacement, also didn't help that it was very greasy. I won't be going back any time soon. Was very disappointed. The only saving grace was the young man who brought our food to the table who was great.

came at 8 to have some food, we got a drink first then went to go find a table for food. we sat down in the seats avaliable then one of the staff came out and told us they were setting up for breakfast and we couldn't sit there bearing mind the food dosent close till 9, then they continued to talk about the situation with several other members of staff. bar staff were nice though...

Our new favourite pub quiz on a Wednesday! The pub and grill is excellent value for money and a really friendly place.

Called in for some lunch after the skate park and it was very nice, lovely atmosphere clean and very inviting. Food was great really lovely and was worth every penny 😋

I ended up with a parking ticket of £100 after stoping there for 20 minutes for a drink I could not appeal because I saw the ticket after a month. Should have asked me to prove having a drink and did not even see the notice that I had to tell reception. Times are hard for everyone and what a pathetic way of stealing money. Shame on you guys in this day and age

Rooms need updating but were clean. Staff at reception really good. Heating was terrible. Fine for a one night stop over.

Good service mixed grill cold and missing ingredients. No black pudding or sausage.

Went a wk or two ago as at Parr Hall for Mark and Lard. Both of us had the trio roast dinner with extra pigs in blankets ( one bug piggy each) and cauliflower cheese. We really didn't need the extras - although we just about managed to eat it all. Trio of meats was beef, pork and turkey- all cooked beautifully, roast potatoes, Yorkie, carrots, greens and a fab gravy. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Definitely going again.

We had our wedding meal in here and it was amazing! They set the room up and decorated it for us which we didn’t expect, it looked amazing! The food was great and Phil who took care of us was so lovely and helpful!

Since changing to Goodwins there's been a big improvement in service...decor is lovely and food was great..i suffer with really bad ibs and told them they made my meal just the way I like it..

I visited the pub today. The location is nice, I felt like I was in a park. The building inside looks good too. Food and drink were OK, but the dessert (ice cream) was almost tasteless and similar to ice in taste. You also could take care so that ground under outside tables is 100% horizontal and chairs with back support would be better than benches without support.

Had a wonderful time here at this place. Staff and food were great. Would highly recommend and will defiantly be returning.

Fabulous location, extensive menu and a lovely welcome. Visited recently to meet an old friend who suggested the Waterside. It had been a long time since I'd been previously but what a difference. Outside of the modern decor the staff were exceptional. Attentive and knowledgeable. Clearly well trained. Really enjoyed the visit and will be back again.

Great service and delicious food

Didn’t stay at the hotel, Spontaneously stopped at the pub on Thursday to have some food with my family on a drive home. The Lady at the door was lovely and welcoming and sent us to the bar as the restaurant was fully booked. Managed to find one table that didn’t have a reserved sign on however one of the staff was incredibly rude and we quickly gathered that we were going to be an inconvenience so we left before ordering anything. The pub itself is lovely and the food looked great so a little disappointed we never got to enjoy.

Just had gammon steak, ate the lot, no leftovers. Moaned about the 3 small prawns I got as an extra last week with my steak, take it all back

Had a lovely meal tonight, 15 of us, some of us very fussy !! But Paul was very patient taking our order and we all enjoyed the evening. A big thank you to Paul and all the staff.

Came for a large family meal of 10+, food and drink was amazing and the restaurant was very nice inside and out. There were issues with the orders such as someone not getting their dessert but solely down to how many of us there were. The waiter was great also!

So arrived today to stay in hotel for 2 days for our 1st wedding anniversary, to come to the pub at 19.32pm hours order drinks sat down, had look thru menu to go to bar to be told not doing food now as busy... not even a sorry or anything. The pub side is dead, I understand the restaurant may be busy but not great customer service is it...we only wanted some snacks to get us thru. So not only disappointed with hotel room which is disgusting now we can't get food, let down.

Hotel needs renovating, lots of old damp patches, beds are comfortable. Bar and grill is very nice with a good breakfast.

We ve been here for a drink. The pub looks clean and the garden outside is a huge plus,I would love to come back in a sunny day. Shame there is not a kid play area.

Had Sunday lunch and my wife had rump steak with minted new potatoes which was not minted, plates were served abruptly with no comments, Yorkshire was hard, had 3 Carrots the Size of my little finger, they were spongy as was the Broccoli not asked how is your meals, typical British abysmal service, not going back.

A weekend away with the mother and the pub and hotel is absolutely brilliant, we were served by Iona and she is an absolute star, she was so welcoming and so lovely, an absolute credit to the team🤩

We didn't stay over, but we did call in at the pub. Sammie looked after us beautifully. Nothing was too much trouble, asking if we needed anything, sorted my husband's food out very quickly. The food was lovely, my husband's steak was perfectly cooked. My food was very tasty (burger). Relaxed atmosphere, comfy tables, great music, a little loud at one point but quickly turned down. Went last Sunday lovely meal staff very pleasant didn’t book but that was no problem we sat in the bar part and it was nice . Will be going again and Iv told a few people about this place

Went for lunch with a friend on 3rd July and thought we had a lovely time. Made a table booking, parked in the car park, and went on our way after lunch. However, what would have been a 4 or 5-star review has been marred by the £100 parking charge I've received, as I apparently should have registered my vehicle with the bar or reception when I arrived. There was nothing on the website about needing to do this when I booked the table, and none of the staff mentioned this when we were seated. As a new mum trying to get out of the house, this has left a sour taste, and I don't think I'll be back or recommending it to anyone else. Edit to add: After a phone call to the restaurant, this is a common issue and they were able to remove the fine quickly. However, I'm not changing my review from 1 star as knowing this is a problem and not changing their policies, website, booking portal, or even having staff mention it upon arrival makes it feel rather predatory, and that they hoping you'll pay it instead of questioning it.

A lovely pub which seems to be in a different league from the usual Greene King chain. Nicely decorated with plenty of room between tables. Our waitress was excellent. Fantastic food choice and arrived hot with care taken over the presentation. Free parking is available onsite, just remember to register your number plate. Can't comment on rooms as we did not stay here. A Greene King other in its chain can learn from.

Great value for money in an incredible location with good sized bedrooms; if I was to go back to Warrington, this would be my default lodging.

Food was ok, fairly run of the mill nothing bad nothing great, service a bit slow perhaps due to a wedding party at same time, outside area a little run down, but surrounding garden area was nice, if you are looking for a meal out and not one to impress then I would recommend it.

Fantastic location in Ealing with an easy connection into central London, we were upgraded, the rooms appear to have been recently refurbished and were great, water and beer in the fridge were free, and the breakfast was lovely. Great find!

Easy to find,have a lot of parking space.The interior of the building is nice,interesting. Prices are all right in comparison to the average level,however the portions are small.The chicken menu,like 25dkg meat,and two slices of onion rings only. If you planning a romantic day out,it could be the target,but do not artive with empty stomach 😉

It was just great. For starters we had: chicken wings, prawns and squid. All cooked to perfection. Seasoning was delicious. For main we all had steak. All dishes came as we asked, well done & medium rare. The waitress actually knew which one was well and which one was medium. I just don’t appreciate going to pubs and people mix the orders. The staff was absolutely great. Always present, making sure we were fine. My family enjoyed every minute. Best top 3 on my list. I've been back to this pub on 16/6/2024. Everything remains the same except for the Grilled Herb Butter King Prawn. They were undercooked and not the same size as the previous time. Not only that but tasteless. My daughter had Mac "N" Cheese and it was delicious. I had the T-bone with Merlot & Beef sauce and it was just perfect. My wife who had the prawns was disappointed.

Advertises as a real ale bar, however only one real ale on our visit, and not a great pint, I left half of it as it was simply not good enough. Staff had no idea of the Cask Marque scheme to which they subscribe to. Staff however were friendly and welcoming, with the venue itself clean and well presented. However a pub is judged on its beer and on this occasion it failed to live up to expectations.

Myself & my son went out for lunch at water side on half term holidays, we had such a nice time we ate of the lunch time menu and was quick and easy service. We was served by Becky Appleton and she is always kind & polite and very good with son will defo be as he says they do best fries & salt. Thankyou guys.

We went today for my daughters 21st birthday breakfast and it was fantastic. Food was amazing and the lady who served us was Adele and she went beyond her job. She was polite and even brought a cake and candle out for my daughter without us knowing then she even brought the doggy lenny some food while we had our breakfast. Thanks again Adele your a 🌟

Lovely lay out stunning inside very nice staff will be back for sure just been back after a year and sorry to say dropped in badly mac an cheese 3x all cold looked like porridge prawns tasteless my £6.40 pint was flat both times

An update to my last review, I’m happy to say that Amanda from the waterside has rectified the situation, and the fine has been cancelled.we have re-visited the waterside and as usual enjoyed our visit, lovely pub, friendly staff.Very happy

Clean and tidy rooms, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the pub had a decent choice of meals. The food we ordered was tasty, and it was a good portion. The prices are slightly above average but the service and the location compensated for it.
