Small family birthday celebration - we made it despite the weather. Ate the 2-4-1 menu (Mon/Tue 5 to 8pm) - delicious all round & excellent value for money. Good service. Recommended. Would have been 5* but the dining room was cold (fire laid but not lit) & it would have been helpful if some of the car park had been cleared of snow/ice.

One of the Top 5 establishments for sunday roasts in the North West (coming from a Sunday Lunch fanatic), fantastic service, very accommodating team, very friendly and charismatic management - what more can you ask for - oh and a varied wine menu. This was my second visit and definitely won't be my last. Nice walks close by and good parking facilities.

We regularly visit the White Hart, especially on special occasions. The atmosphere, service & food are always excellent.

I was lucky enough to have my work's Christmas party at The White Hart this year. Food and atmosphere was absolutely incredible, as was the service. I'd like to add a special mention to the dark haired girl hosting on the door, I believe her name was Lea, who was particularly friendly and chatty whilst we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, and a blonde haired girl who I unfortunately didn't officially catch the name of, (though I think I did hear several of her coworkers referring to her as Izzy), who went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. Perfect night, will be back next year.

We ate at the White Hart on Christmas Day and it was a wonderful experience. The set and the tables were set up so well. The service was impeccable and the food was tasty and well cooked. Nothing was rushed it was a truly enjoyable day and the staff did everything they could to make it special.

Absolutely fantastic Christmas Day meal. We are a family of 7. The food was absolutely stunning along with the setting and the service. Could not fault anything. The beef wellington was to die for. Hats off to all the staff who worked tremendously to create a perfect day. We will be booking for next year.

Can't give it five stars as I only visited briefly one evening, nice warm old style pub with friendly staff, food available, and it is also a hotel.

Went for a Christmas party. Food was very good and served efficiently considering there were around 250 people to serve! The location is fabulous and the establishment was immaculate. Prices are no more than you would expect from this type of venue. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful location and building. We all had a 3 course Sunday lunch and everyone loved it. The staff were superb and we were well looked after. I have to give a special mention to the fish galette starter (fish cakes) which were the freshest, lightest and crispiest fish cakes I've ever had, truly blown away by them. The beef on the roast dinner is special, perfectly cooked and melts in the mouth. Cannot fault the place and would highly recommend.

Sunday lunch was fantastic. Really tasty, great service and great atmosphere! Team really attentive, lots of choice and selection on the Sunday menu, and just made to feel so welcome.

Lovely surroundings and building, lovely wines. Always speak very highly of the food but two rump steaks were very tough this time, and came without a steak knife. When we told the waitress she simply said ‘you shouldn’t need a steak knife’. Should have been rectified or at least an apology. The rest of the food was wonderful.

We just cannot fault the food quality and service at the Whitehart. The cured trout starter was perfection. The beef cheeks melted in the mouth with the tasty rich sauce.( the best ever.) Also, a great selection of delicious puddings with coffee. Praise for the chef and kitchen staff. The service is always top class. Well done to Flo,Daisy and all staff for excellent front of house. As ever Sunday lunch 2 course menu didn’t disappoint. Poached fig starter was delicious. Roast beef with all the trimmings very tasty , especially leeks and Yorkshire pudding. Lovely setting, very attentive start and great attention to detail. Top end Sunday lunch - no surprise it is as popular as it is .

Great food and the 2:4:1 menu is excellent value. We strayed with a tomato soup with basil oil, followed by beef and then a cheese board. A good selection of wine too.

We had the set menu 5 course small portions but delicious. The beef was so well cooked. Couldn’t recommend enough and service is really good.

Well this was a lovely surprise. The service from the moment we arrived was fantastic and the staff could not do more for you. The food was excellent with a fantastic wine menu to match. The rooms are clean , comfortable and spacious. I would stay again in the heartbeat!!

Came with a few people, I ordered the cheese and onion pie. I would not say it was worth the price unfortunately, as when I opened the pie it was very hollow inside with not much filling.

Had a great afternoon/evening at the White Hart Inn. Food was good. On the pricey side but as for as facilities and location are concerned it’s spot on.

Came here for a family meal, the selection is good, something for everyone, I had the steak which was spot on, everyone else thoroughly enjoyed theirs too so no complaints at all

Always a nice place to visit with a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. Lovely village location close to where we live. Hence why I can't comment on the rooms as we have never stayed there.

Yesterday my family and I really enjoyed Sunday lunch at the White Hart Inn yesterday. The meal was excellent as was the service by very pleasant and attentive staff.

Had the 2-4-1, 5 course menu. Food and wine was excellent as was the service by Pippa. 10/10 we will definitely be back soon.

Fantastic food and service as always. Chef selects the best ingredients so all dishes are excellent quality. Crispy pig is outstanding and original.

Last minute booking On arrival Florian had found a table for us in the Brassiere and as usual oversaw the meal with his masterly discrete efficiency We had booked the Fish on Friday deal which included a drink and is fantastic value for money The fish is lightly crispy battered and so fresh and flaky .Home made Tartare sauce makes a lovely difference Even though the dish was quite satisfying on looking at the dessert list we couldn’t resist sharing a Sticky Toffee Pudding which was to die for Well done again the White Hart!

We always go here for Sunday dinner as it never disappoints. The food is always consistent even on busier days, make sure you order the cauliflower cheese aswell it's amazing!

Superb food and excellent service. The food was exceptional and very well presented. There is an excellent wine list and great hand pulled beers.

Booked for dinner on a Saturday so no midweek price deals. The brasserie was lovely, cosy and busy, and beautifully warm on a cold evening! We had starters and mains, all excellent. A bottle of Cotes du Rhone was very good though from the cheaper end of the very extensive wine list, and came with an interesting bit of explanation of its origin. This is not your regular Saddleworth pub meal with huge portions at low prices, but is just what it ought to be for a slightly more fancy occasion. The staff all gave just the right level of friendly personal attentiveness too.

As always lovely food, good atmosphere,great service....what else can you ask for!! And the set menu is back on Wednesday and Thursday evenings with great choices at competitive prices. Can wholeheartedly recommend!

I am my husband stayed over last Saturday for a meal with friends. The room was spacious and I loved the bathroom (room 10). A couple of small things: a small table or stool next to bath would be useful to pop bits and pieces on when in the bath. Full ingredients would be useful on homemade biccies.. The bath taps made a loud banging noise and the water was intermittent when turned on full. The info brochure was falling apart and stuff wasn't where it stated. We did find the bed really comfy and the staff were great about providing more pillows. Finally, my husband was made up he could have sticky toffee pudding, as he can't have cows' milk or soya- I need the recipe. Oh, all staff were brilliant. We will be back.

Hosted a recent birthday party, The Library is a fantastic private dining venue. Topped off with great food and staff.

Fish, chips and a pint. Friday family treat. An absolute delight. Sizeable fish, big portion of chips, mushy peas and a very tasty homemade tartar sauce. Wonderful welcome from front of house staff.

The best fish and chips for miles. Even my very fussy parents couldn’t fault it and can’t wait to go and try the other stuff on the menu.

We hadn't been to the White Hart since before the pandemic & it was great to be back. We arrived too early for our booked time but enjoyed a drink in the bar while we waited. After a short time the head waiter came to tell us we could go to our table ahead of time. We enjoyed the same service as always - professional, attentive & very friendly. We chose the 3 course set menu & I particularly enjoyed the chicken which was succulent & had a delicious crispy skin. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent service and food was delicious, had the Haddock and Chips and passion fruit cheesecake with mango sorbet, also the sticky toffee pudding all delicious

My sister and I took mum for a belated Mothers' Day lunch and had a wonderful time! The food was, as ever, delicious, and the service and care (including finding us a dog-friendly table) second to none - we love The White Hart and are already planning another lunch - and the reduced price 2 and 3 course menu makes it even more attractive!

Really good service from a professional team , served in the bar area which allows dogs who also created well and the Sunday roast was good. The pub is a very good location and lovely atmosphere .

It was our first time visiting the White Hart and we were not disappointed. The Sunday lunch was excellent, the service was superb and the prices were very reasonable. We had a wonderful time and could have stayed all day. We will definitely be returning.

We took advantage of the dinner offer. It seemed that as it was an offer, the portions were smaller. Vegetarian choice was aubergine which is rather an odd choice to give as not the most popular vegetable. The vegan brownie was inedible. It was quite disappointing and the drinks are very expensive.

A little disappointing. Ordered a meal and it came with half of what was on the menu. Queried this and they told us we did have the full meal, which it definitely wasn't. They went up to the kitchen, came down and avoided us until we called them over and asked again, they then told us they had run out of ingredients during the day and we weren't told this. Food was luke warm. The dessert was the best course.

Delicious all the way !! Both starters , the scallops and the chicken terrine had been created by mixing a range of ingredients. The main course of featherblade beef melted in the mouth. It had an additional cost supplement but was definitely well worth it. Great service and pricing.

Very nice cooking, wine list and service. Would be a good view in the light too. Looks like there are lots of value offers on weekdays too (not for us, we were there on Saturday night). A safe, competent ad reliable option. Also a very friendly atmosphere.

The menu is detailed as a set price menu. It is very misleading as all but two of the dishes attract a supplement of £5.00. I wine for a sandwich which was crispy falafel - it was very average. Service was very good
