Great Pub, staff all very friendly & helpful. Me and my extended family have been on many occasions to celebrate Birthdays, Baby Showers etc and Paul & the team are always very helpful. We never fail to bump into someone we know resulting in a good night out. Proper village pub feel with a personable hands on landlord. Special thanks this time of year for staff giving up their Christmas Day etc over the festive period. Happy New Year to Paul & The Team

We had an amazing NYE night at the White Lion hosted by Paul who not only was the perfect host, he also considered his customers experience and operated a ticket only entrance which meant the pub wasn’t over packed and easy to get to the bar. This made it a great experience for us plus you could comfortably stand at the bar and chat with other customers and the amazing staff who worked so hard over the Christmas period. Well done to Paul and his fantastic team for all the hard work and giving h us a place in Yateley where we can have a great time with family, friends and the community along with making memories. You really have created a great public bar and restaurant in our community. Thank you

First thing, the entire place stank of smoke; clearly the chimney needs a sweep. Service beyond terrible and we were immediately bluntly told the wait was going to be at least 30 mins. It turned out to be nearly 50 mins and when the food arrived it was awful. A pizza which was made with wholemeal flour. It was like eating cardboard, only cardboard might actually have more flavour. My wife had a Caesar salad which looked off. Chicken had no flavour and the hard boiled egg wasn't. Instead it was a cold running partly cooked egg served with going bad avocado. We passed on sweets as majority of dishes shown on the menu were not available. Overall this has to be one of the worst dining experiences I've encountered in the last 50 years eating out. AVOID unless you like overpriced badly cooked food with terrible service.

Just not great really. Waited 45 minutes for food which we were told about when ordering but when it arrived, it was look warm at best. Tasted ok. Shame really

The White Lion has everything, great atmosphere, attentive friendly staff and tasty food.

Horrible. We arrived for our reservation, and the bar was busy, and waitress tending to bar. I had to ask for us to be seated, and we had a reservation!. No others were waiting to be seated. Our menus were crumpled. We were told that the bar was busy and so it would take 30 minutes or more for food. WHY! They were walk-ins and we had a reservation. It took a long time to give drinks order and food order. Out of my guests only 1 enjoyed his pizza. Myself and other guest did not. When it came to the dessert I had to chase on foot, the waitress down for the pudding menus! Then most of the desserts were unavailable. So we asked for the check. That we had to yell to get waitress to bring payment machine. There appeared to be only 1 bar person and 2 waitresses. This is the second time in 4 years I've been disappointed by your establishment. Never again. And I will never recommend you.

Lovely pub with a warm fire, felt welcoming. Staff were friendly and showed us to the pre-booked table. Menu orders were checked and drinks were quick. Despite being very busy, the pub had a lovely atmosphere and staff were apologetic when the starters arrived quite late. Food was tasty and cooked well with a good length of time between courses. Overall a great experience and we will come again.

We were a large party for a birthday - the service was brilliant and the food delicious!

Greeted with a friendly welcoming from our waitress Hannah and a warm and cosy atmosphere. Tried the lamb shank (new to the menu) beautiful and tender! Also had a sirloin steak, cooked and presented perfectly! All in all a lovely afternoon

We booked a table online and were warmly welcomed by Naomi. She took us to a lovely table and made sure we were comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely return for more.

My wife and I had 2 portions of the salt and pepper squid last night, it arrived cold and was chewy. A lot small end bits, last of the bag maybe! Shud have sent it back. It must have been sitting on the pass too long. The pub was packed and had a good time with a live DJ playing northern soul music.

I recommend this restaurant with its cosy atmosphere, perfect for a dinner with friends or a romantic get-together. A very welcoming and professional staff.

We gave this pub another chance as I had met the Landlord Paul in the summer. We are so glad we did - great food and super service. Thank you to the team for looking after us. Huge improvements seen , we will be back and highly recommend under Pauls expert leadership.

This pub is lovely,the staff are really smiley and helpful nonething is to much trouble ,and the food is really nice and reasonably priced .you feel really welcomed. I've been To a few different places recently and some of them could learn a few things from here .so weldone all of you and I will definitely be coming back .

Another great evening with Hannah’s fabulous service and lovely meals from the kitchen.

Fish and chips were absolutely vile. Everything was way too salty and meant that the fish couldn’t be eaten. Potatoes and vegetables on all roast dinners ordered just tasted of pure salt; along with the chips. Service was brilliant, but doesn’t make up for the disgusting food served!

It was cold outside and I was glad that the log fires were burning. Had the bar snacks (chorizo sausages, warm scotch egg and halloumi fries). Really tasty. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Excellent selection of beers. Good menu. Would highly recommend.

What the hell is the car park issue. Totally did not read the parking notices as I dont look at car parking signs at pubs. Never heard of lightning in car reg number. Ridiculous. Food nice . Dumb staff

The best quality food around.. The ribeye is amazing (we had eaten in loTS of restaurants and 100% this place is the best). CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHEF AND THE KITCHEN STAFF.And omg! The pink lamb is like HEAVEN. The waiters are so lovely and the service is exceptional. Laura we love your smile (you are one of the kind) so Definitely we will be loyal customers.

10 of us went to the White Lion in Yateley for my sisters birthday. We were welcomed with smiles by all the staff. The staff were attentive and polite, the food was delicious. The real log fires added such a nice touch. If you’re looking for a nice meal and a nice atmosphere I definitely recommended the white lion

Booked a table for 10 people to celebrate a birthday! The lovely Pauline, Libby, Laura and Hannah made it a fun afternoon! Very happy & attentive staff, lovely cosy log fire and a free bottle of Prosecco for the birthday girl! 🍾 🥂 Food was delicious and served HOT!

This is the worst meal I have ever had. The whitebait was covered in brown bread crumbs the chicken I think had been dead for 10 years. The chef is not a chef. Expensive cheap drinks Expensive rubbish food.. Avoid this like the plaque.

Food was tasty when it arrived, but the service was painfully slow. 45 minutes for main courses and who knows how long for desserts - we had to give up and leave after sitting for 2 hours.

First time visiting on Saturday, was very impressed with the selection of beers! Fish and chips were very good, and the staff very helpful and friendly! Will be returning next time I'm in the area.

Venue for Get-together. My daughter-in law had booked a surprise 40th birthday get together for my Son. The room is semi private, so although out of the way, still easy access to the rest of the Pub. I have to say, the service we received from the Staff was Top Top Class, all meals came out on time, nothing was too much trouble, we only had to ask and the response was efficiency, smiling faces, willingness to please. The right balance between helping but leaving us our privacy too. We had a really lovely evening. Well done to the staff that looked after us, you should all be very proud of yourselves. You helped make the evening such a success. If anyone wants a family gathering and looking for a Venue, I recommend The White Lion, I cannot recommend it highly enough. You will not be disappointed .

Absolutely spot on. Naomi Ellis our waitress was superb. Good food, great service but it does depend who is the on duty manager. Jake is brilliant as the duty manager.

I went there for a dinner a couple weeks ago and had a great time, the atmosphere was great. The only small things are that some of the condiments were finished, and some of the chips were a bit overcooked. Overall the experience was great.

Absolutely lovely service. Fantastic food wonderful staff was served by various different staff such as nick, Louise, Jake and Laura.

Went two nights running. On both occasions we were impressed. The first night for a full meal was excellent. Pork loin and huge portions. Second night just for a small bite. We shared two starters both were superb. I would highly recommend a visit, but go earlier as last serving is from 8:30.

Unfortunately the food took an hour to come out. To be fair to the waiting staff, they offered a drink to say sorry, even without us complaining about it. But we had a full drink at the time so didn’t take them up on offer. Then food arrived and my roast was cold. Meat over cooked and everything was bland, cold and inedible. I left feeling hungry, which is never good when you’re eating at a restaurant. The waiting staff took some money off the bill, but still was a lot of money spent for a meal I barely touched because of it being inedible. My husband did say, however, that his burger was piping hot and very tasty. So maybe it’s a safer bet ordering burgers only!

Although a local to me, with so much choice for a Sunday roast, and based on many previous poor experiences, I had not been on a Sunday for years. I am so glad I've given it a go again. Pauline started by helping me put my bike away, great start! I ordered the Turkey breast roast; this turned out to be delicious, excellent in both quantities and quality. Beautifully cooked vegetables and potatoes too. Great friendly service to match. Definitely give it another go if you have had poor experiences before.

Very pleasant pub with great staff

Great food just took a long time to come out. Drinks order was lost and had to be chased. Mojito cocktail tasted watery and was just ice and drink.

Nice pub, the signature burger was really signature. Really good. They have Estrella which I like and 2 more good pilseners. Unusual and welcomed. But I have to say, there was there a waitress , Ms bond. What an asset, fantastic welcome and had us in stitches. In what appears to be a pub like many others offered us a very good experience

Passing through village and thought how lovely it looked so popped in for a drink, such a friendly place and next time we'll stay longer for a meal as it looked good 👍 see you soon

Always good these days and competitive with those nearby on price. Ambience is good and the new management have made a difference at a pub that needed change. The hanging baskets always look nice and the new seating outside is a big improvement

Absolute stars! Accommodated a large family party with Sunday roasts. Food was excellent (loved the lamb rump), and the service made us all feel very welcome.

Always a very warm welcome from all of the staff! They all know our names and greet us with a pleasant smile! I have a bottle of Sandbox wine with a glass of soda to mix and Brian always has a Guinness, the bar staff always bring the Guinness to the table once it has settled! Louise managed to do a lovely heart on Andy's coffee!!!

Excellent service from Paul, Louise and their colleagues. The lamb was cooked and served just how I like it. The mac and cheese was also very good.

Popped in for a quick refresh after the Yateley 10k Road Race. Unfortunetly most of the draught beers were not available. Although, the one that was available was well kept and full of flavour. As we did not have a meal I can not comment on the food.

The White Lion is a fantastic, cosy pub with a great atmosphere. I came down on a Friday night and had a great time. The food was fresh, hot and served with a lovely smile from Laura. I'll definitely be coming back.

We have not been to the white lion in years as the level of service and quality had severely increased. As the pub had over gone a complete overhaul and management we thought we would give it a try. And my goodness what a transformation. The new landlord Paul has certainly worked wonders and turned this pub into an absolute delight to visit. Staff were busy but very attentive to customers, very polite making sure everything was satisfactory. But the food! Out of this world we both had the Sunday roast and it’s one of the best roast dinners I think I have ever had. We will definitely be going back and thank you Paul and your magnificent team of staff for making this pub amazing once again!

Four of us went for a get together lunch and were treated to good and tasty food beautifully and quickly served. Naomi did a great job of making sure we were looked after at every stage with a smile and calm demeanor she even served an Irish coffee we ordered that she had never made before with aplomb. Well done and a definite whole better experience than that of a few years ago.

Nice pub Manger was rude when we was there as they needed to get rid of our table for a live act and told us to MOVE......

Reliable local with a great atmosphere and a decent pint of Tribute. The new benches outside are a great addition. Parts of the building are getting a bit tired, and in need of a clean - the toilets being the best example. There is mould on the walls under the driers, pictures that need taking down, things falling off... and my wife says that the women's is similar (lack of toilet paper can be an issue, too). Hopefully easily sorted for future :)

Went for Sunday lunch .Ladies taking orders lovely .When my roast beef arrived it was bloody gristle ridden and fatty .Cauliflower cheese needed an axe to cut the stalks . I asked for a spoon as trying to put Cauliflower cheese on your plate with your fork is impossible. I asked for mustard AND horseradish and the eyes of the guy went up and body language said "" you are annoying" Sent back the dinner They cut more but by then rest of dinner cold . Never mind my mum ordered a pudding which never arrived . We often go to cowherds in Southampton as my son at uni .Same chain never had a meal like this one and with attitude . Never again

Had a beautiful meal at the White Lion last night. The food was delicious, and the service from the lovely Laura was a service with a smile / giggle. Laura is so warming, welcoming and attentive. She works so hard but always smiles. Paul the Landlord is also really lovely. Thank you both for making my evening so pleasant. Can't wait to come back. 😁😁😁😁

My friend and I enjoyed a delicious meal and were served by the lovely Laura. Such a cute happy waitress. Highly recommend the sticky chicken bites and beef lasagne. Only one criticism is that they never have everything on the menu in stock but doesn’t stop me visiting them

Nice friendly restaurant. The food was very tasty but the roast lunch was not hot enough and went cold quickly The service was ok but a bit slow at times We might go back but prefer The Golden Retriever near Bracknell

Very poor food and service, went to the Warren last week and had the lamb dish which was excellent served pink and presented with care and attention. Had the lamb dish tonight, well it was shocking it came out looking like it had been sitting under the hot lights for half an hour. I asked for it pink it was so overcooked and dry as was th burnt overcooked tenderstem it was sitting on. No care was taken with this dish and at £25 you expect better.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff, great night! Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, looking forward to our next visit.

If you are lucky enough to be in there on a day when then head chef is in, YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT! The main was all cooked to perfection, you can select all 3 meats which is amazing, proper Yorkshire puddings which were crispy and fresh. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection and the stuffing ball wrapped in bacon completed the meal. The gravy was super flavoursome and you can tell it was PROPER gravy. They also had an Easter egg hunt on which was a bonus for my kid, the service was very quick and staff were all lovely.

Last Sunday me and my friend visited this pub for lunch and drinks we was welcomed by a lovely man and the waitress can’t remember the names I apologise he has greyish hair and the lady blonde/brown hair very sweet and bubbly. Food was delicious drinks was delicious but sadly Sunday evening I was throwing up and had diarrhoea for days only yesterday 23/03/24 I was able to start eating properly and my stomach has settled my friend had fish&chips and halloumi fries she loved both very delicious also she was very unwell to I’m Baffled why we was both so unwell after eating the food as the food tasted fine and fresh ? I had halloumi fries and the roast beef and turkey potatoes veg no pork Yorkshire puddings I had 1 large wine and espresso martini my friend had 2 wines

The White Lion is a fantastic local pub & restaurant. They regularly have special offers on food and have a great selection of beers and wines. The bar staff are friendly and a special shout to Nick who generally has my pint ready as I walk through the door and Jason who always gets my wife her preferred glass!

Great place to get a drink. The Waitress Libby was great at her job. She was friendly and helpful. I was served drinks by Jason and nick who were very helpful with information on beers. All around a great experience.

Always love coming in and having a few drinks with mates. Usually served by Nick, Laura or Louise however all the staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to enquiries about food or drink. Fires are lovely and warm favorite pub to visit in yateley

Paul, the manager was absolutely brilliant. Despite being incredibly busy he made a huge effort to ensure we were made to feel special. I doubt many people would have the skill set to pull off what Paul and his hard working team do but they certainly did it. Well done 👍

Starter was nice, but rest was awful. Cold veg and potatoes, no check back from waiting staff, no children’s menu despite asking twice, colouring offered for our daughter and finally bought over with the dessert, daughter had starter containing cucumber - when requested some more cucumber for her (she’s 3) was told the kitchen staff were too busy!! Too busy to put some cucumber on a plate!! Only offered a free drink as compensation for cold food. Excuse given was it’s very busy being Mother’s Day - totally appreciate it’s busy but no excuse for poor service and cold food and to be honest a terrible response regarding a request for some more cucumber! Manager didn’t even ask how our experience was and expected full payment, If you can’t cope with a busy service don’t take the bookings. Felt like a case of revenue over quality. Won’t be back.

Wait staff were friendly and place was nice and warm but the cocktails were weak and the food horrific. Microwaved undercooked lamb that I suspect has given me a bad stomach judging by my experience when I got home (seriously guys, it's not hard to see that the fat hadn't even begun to warm up), and a roast menu that was missing about 50% of the items (alongside being clearly pre-cooked, given the meat came out drier than the Sahara). As an aside, it should be criminal to offer a Sunday roast menu then tell people you're limited on the amount of yorkshire puddings and potatoes you can have. Yorkshires take fifteen minutes to make a batch of - just make more rather than sticking to what you've pre-prepared twelve hours ago. Shame as the desserts and starters were great and the table staff extremely friendly, but the kitchen just seems to be struggling with the basics of seasoning, safety, and stockage.

Have been here a few times now for a quick stop whilst walking the dog, or to stop with friends for drinks and food. Had the 3 for £10 for lunch with my partner as we were not very hungry, chose the chorizo sausages, garlic bread and hot scotch egg. The sizes were very generous for the price and the food was extremely good, just a shame the dog couldn’t share as they were chorizo 😀. We came again for an early dinner and found a wonderful seat by the open fire, the food we chose was hot, arrived in a timely manner and we were happy with everything we ordered. They have special events on evenings as well and in these nights the pub has a great atmosphere. If you haven’t been give it a go I don’t think you will b,e disappointed. And if you are like me and you like to take your dog(s) with you they are welcome, including there being blankets, water and biscuit treats available if you want them.

We visited yesterday lunchtime and my husband is still talking about how much he loved the burger (Signature burger) saying it’s “maybe the best he’s had”. Yummy food, friendly staff and a very happy hubby.
