We stopped off for a quick look round the town, and decided to eat here. We were not disapointed. The food was excellent, large portions and freshly cooked. Lots of options for everyones tastes on the menu. Was comfortable and cosy environment to eat in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money

Just acquired a static caravan close to Machynlleth. The White Lion has become our first choice for food. Eaten here 4 times in four weeks. The fish is probably the best I have had. Last time here we were with three others, on my recommendation four out of five had the fish, all agreed it was as good as you can get.

Food here is very basic and the staff are a bit scatty. Nothing is cooked particularly well, all looks rushed. Some funny locals though, enjoyed the story about Shirley Vaughan getting caught giving the owner oral in the toilet, and also about her getting nailed by a bin man by the garages. Funny place.

It might not be the prettiest of places but it’s never empty. Always busy with both locals and visitors. Nice beer and the food is great. No frills pub grub but the portions are massive. Highly recommend the the steak pie, the huge gammon and the lamb shank.

Has to be the best food we have had for a good while,very generous portions,huge selection on the menu all very reasonably priced too.first class service,very polite,always willing to help and delivered within 8 miles that's more than most .highly recommended.

Ash MagnaAfter a disappointing visit to a nearby attraction we wanted something to eat and a drink and this pub was nearby. Booked online and when we arrived table was already set, plenty of room on car park and we were seated straight away. Not a huge menu but something for everyone. Carribean chicken is amazing, chips are gorgeous and lasagna was enjoyed more than one eaten in Rome a few weeks ago. Staff were lovely and nice to see the chef pop out and see if everyone enjoyed the food as well. Didn't think it was unreasonably priced for the quality and potion sizes just right. We have been saying ever since how much we enjoyed the food and wished it was closer to home! Only reason for not being 5 stars was the room and the loos could be smarter but would happily drive the almost hours journey on occasion for the amazing food.
