The Whittington in Harrow

We went for a meal here with 3 teens and their grandma. Everyone enjoyed their meals: 3 of us had the steak & ale pie, which was gorgeous. It was in the pastry you get on pork pies, served with chips, peas & gravy (mash was an alternative option to chips). Massive serving, we were all full to bursting! Mother-in-law asked for a starter as her main & that was no problem at all. Staff were nice & helpful, service good & atmosphere welcoming.

Popped in for a few snacks with my daughter (always a good sign when lots of high chairs are available, clean and in good condition). Friendly staff served us and were very accommodating, always good to see a clean pub and a clean baby changing area. Food was very tasty and arrived in good time. Great to see Holly back running the pub.

Came here recently with some friends , the place is great , pool tables which are hard to find these days , amazing food , and the lady on the bar who served us I think was the manager who had good banter but didn’t catch her name unfortunately, short and blonde is the best way to describe her . We had an amazing time and we will be back again.

Been here to watch the football and darts last couple of days. Would like to say it was a warm experience but hardly when the rear doors stay open, the heating remains off (as it has done frequently) and most people having to keep jackets, hoodies and jumpers on just to stay warm. This is typical lack of maintenance by Greeme King at the Whittington! Staff great and battling through!

First time I've had the roast here . I have the Beef Rib . Just melt in your mouth. Incredible. Well done to everyone . Will definitely have it again if Im back on a Sunday

Really friendly efficient staff. Food took about 10 minutes to arrive. Steak perfectly cooked how I asked. Was impressed.

Came for Lunch with my partner to try the new menu. Had the ribs and the new chicken burger. Both cooked to perfection. Service was amazing and attentive. Will be back soon to try the new dessert

Met up with my family from USA. Wanted to play pool. I was asked for a £5 deposit for a cue. Which I paid. On returning the Cue I was asked " Where is the white ball?" that will cost you £5 more. All of the staff here are rude unless you are known to them. I live local to this pub. All of them are clicky to their locals. pub, run by people in the wrong job.

Ordered the XL Mixed Grill and asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare. When the food turned up (on a plate too small to making it impossible to be able to eat from as all the food was piled on top of each other) I cut into the steak to find it was blue. I placed it in a side plate and went to the bar to inform them. There was 1 person serving while 3 members of staff stood there chatting about their weekend plans. One of them looked over at me waiting and then proceeded to chat to her colleague. Eventually the member of staff who was serving apologised for the mistake and informed me a new steak would be sent over asap. When the new steak came back it was the same steak which was no overcooked and like leather. Took it home for the dog after we left pronto due to some crazy man storming in shouting about witch craft and WiFi as he walked through the dining room. Naff

Always loved the pub good food and drinks (minus cocktails!) and please keep more sea food options they always almost run out!! Why so few jackfruit wings!? Though was told they were delicious.

We visited lunchtime and we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The interior was clean and spacious. Comfortable seating. Plenty of activities throughout the week advertised....board game evening, quiz night etc. Went to the bar to order. Had fish and chips which was tasty and well presented. Good value food. We enjoyed our visit.

Went here quite recently with some friends just to go for some food , turns out they have pool tables (which is awesome ) most pool tables are in dingy dark pubs that just smell like ash trays …. Anyway I digress , the food was great for the money and the girls on the bar were full of banter , there’s a shorter lady who was working I think she might have been a manager who was just comical but in a good way , so between the great food , pool tables and great banter I would highly recommend this place , plus they have like a Million tvs for sports so if that’s your thing then eat your heart out.

I made my first and last visit to this local pub today. I went to watch Formula 1 and have some food. When I went in it seemed pleasant enough in the corporate chain-pub style, clean and recently refurbished. It was pretty much empty with about the same number of staff as customers but not in an oppressive way. It was 1.30pm and the Dutch Formula 1 race, which was advertised on the website as being shown, was starting at 2pm. The pre-race bumph was not showing on any of the screens so I asked one of the staff if they were showing it. She didn't know and went to ask a huddle of about 5 other staff who were hanging around the bar. A guy said yes, Dutch Formula 1, starts at 2pm. I asked which screen it was showing on (as I had my choice of seats) and he said "all the screens". I ordered scampi and sat at a small table with a good view of the biggest screen. There was a board underneath it advertising a Manchester City match at 2pm. I thought I would ask the barmaid when she delivered my food if it was right that the F1 was on that screen at 2pm as there were plenty of other screens with places to sit. When she turned up she just left my plate without a word or looking me in the eye so I didn't have a chance. A group of people arrived who I could hear chatting about watching the football so when a staff member came within earshot I interrupted him and asked again if the F1 was being shown. He said he could put it on another screen which I could see from where I was sitting. A barmaid then came around and made a big comedy show of lifting the blackboard underneath the screen which advertised the Manchester City match and taking it up to the football supporters, saying "what do you think is showing on this screen? Is that big enough for you to read?" I explained to her that her colleague had told me the F1 was on all the screens. She shouted some guy's name but otherwise ignored me. There were about 4 people watching F1 on one screen and about 6 people watching the football on the other. The sound from all the speakers was for the football. I watched the opening lap and left. The food and drink was OK and the place was clean so I have given 2 stars. Really it is food 3 stars, drink 3 stars, atmosphere 1 star, service -1 star.

Great prices, great food and great service. Came in with my family and we were treated very well and enjoyed every bite and sip. Was served by a lovely waiter named Seamus who was very polite and kind. Would definitely recommend, we will definitely be returning.

We popped in for a spontaneous drink and were served by a lovely lady. She offered good knowledge on the wine I wanted and also helped my partner find a new flavoured cider. My son decided he wanted a dessert after looking at the pictures on the menu and our waitress gave him a good description of the desserts and more info. The weather was awful outside but inside was nice and cosy, will deffo go back.

This is a large well laid out pub that has sport TV. There is an area set aside for dinners, but you can eat at most tables in the pub. Food was average and reasonably priced. The big disappointment was the real ale . On my midweek lunchtime visit they only had one real ale on tap (Abbott) . When I had a pint the beer was definitely off . The Bar Staff on duty were clearly inexperienced in dealing with real ale. They had absolutely no idea how to tell the beer was off. Given the time of day and the hot weather I suggested they might like to pull off a few pints to clear the pipes. They clearly thought I was mad and told me a delivery of beer was due in tomorrow. This is a good clean local pub that serves reasonably priced food, but from my experience unlikely to win any CAMRA awards.

The Whittington is spacious, light & airy and gets five star for cleanliness. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the manageress, Amz, who is keen to ensure that the diners have an all round positive experience.

Second time visiting here and both times the food has taken ages. The last visit we waited 40 mins for 3 pre-made deserts. Lots of things on the menu they didn't have available when ordering which was a shame. The food is your average pub style food. Not terrible but won't blow you away. The portions are pretty small. eg the smoked chicken thigh must be from a baby chick as was literally one mouthful in a bowl. Having said that, can't fault the chicken wings.

Since the pub has had a refit it's modern and bright as are the staff. The food is excellent as well as good value for money. I don't eat out much but it's a pleasure to eat here

The staff were very friendly and i was served my food very fast. On an unrelated side-note, i found the seats comfortable.

Absolutely love the new refurb at The Whittington with such lovely staff who are always so happy to help and are so knowledgeable on their drinks! Had such a lovely dinner there with such a quick service and I highly recommend visiting if you are vegetarian 😁 Will definitely be returning again and again! Has had a major refurbishment, and have done a fantastic job. We had a very nice meal, the staff were very pleasant and helpful it was excellent value. This is a dog friendly establishment.
