Lovely independent cafe with a positive presence in the community. We’ve been popping in every now and then for a couple of years. Always friendly and helpful staff, great coffee and a small but always tasty, wholesome menu. Definitely recommend 👍

Visited this place randomly after a Google search. We were looking for something very specific: vegan food, cosy, nearby, not extortionate, baby friendly - this place delivered! They're a small place, can probably seat like ~20 people comfortably, has a small area for children to play, quite small though with little toys. Nothing more than for like 3 year olds and younger. But still very nice idea and our 2 year old loved it. The staff is friendly, talkative and helpful, you can tell the pride what they do. The food however (vegan breakfast) is to die for. Might be some of the best breakfast I've had. Beans aren't canned baked beans, they're like butter beans with little bits of carrot in a tomato sauce, you can tell it's something they make there. Red cabbage salad is incredible, vegan sausage (standard but good). Great toast and smashed avocado. Honestly the food alone is enough to have me back. Last thing I loved about this place was that it has been around for 6 years. It's not a fad or gimmick pop up shop and hopefully they'll be around for much longer.

We just discovered this cafe and it was a beautiful gem of a place. The vegan food and children's play area first attracted us to it. The vegan breakfast was one of the best we'd eaten and the coffee was great too.

An excellent local café serving vegetarian and vegan food. I have been coming here for years and the staff are always friendly and cheerful. The coffee is so good that I have never actually seen the need to try one of their specialist teas! They occasionally have themed evenings with vegetarian or vegan versions of Mexican, Japanese, Thai etc cuisine. Their vegan "Beef Wellington', when available, is especially recommended! Take away or sit in, I can't resist a coffee when I'm passing by :)

Lila and Sian are super lovely and so accommodating. They care so much about the local community and provide such a wonderful vibe in the cafe. We should all be supporting independent cafe such as this one! The food was super delicious. I cannot recommend enough!

I love coming here with my little boy. We’ve been going since he was about 6 months old, he’s now nearly 3. The food is delicious and so fresh. Child friendly with toys. The staff are all really nice.

First and last time visiting. Very expensive, £13 for 2 meagre sandwiches tea and coffee. My friend sandwich was sent back twice, both were bland and dry. Very noisy unhelpful staff and couldn't even work out my change. Definitely not recommend

Came here because I was in new Barnet and wanted a coffee and some food! I was greeted by a lovely blonde woman, (I forgot her name I’m sorry) she was so lovely! And offered me some of the homemade carrot cake, which was unreal! I stayed for some amazing coffee and a great smashed avacado. The vibe in there was great and I was charmed by the lovely woman , I can’t wait to come back!!! Thanks!

It's basic and very vegan/vegie but the food is decent enough. The prices are a little high. The smoothies are great.

Best community cafe I have had the pleasure of visiting. Staff are friendly and polite. A nice place to work from with either children. Best of all they enjoyed playing with Daisy the Weimaraner.

Really delicious food and great coffee. The restaurant isn’t huge but they’ve made a space at the back for the kids to play with provided toys and books! Staff are really friendly and the price is reasonable The only mark down is not within their control and that is the road just outside is main road through New Barnet and is very noisy and polluted. I wouldn’t want to sit outside which is a shame as the cafe is extremely good. However, If your in the area it’s the place to go!

Can't fault this place. Fantastic cafe with lovely staff and great food. If you're going for brunch, I'd recommend the sourdough (all the toppings are great but I'd start with the pea, mint, feta). Child friendly with a play mat and games inside.

Super friendly and quick service. Beautifully fresh food and great coffee. The avocado with a hint of pesto on sourdough was so tasty, poached eggs cooked to perfection. Incredibly impressed with this little gem!

Atmosphere was tense. Felt like we were a chore for the barista who seemed annoyed she was serving us. Just went in for a takeaway coffee with 3 small children and a dog. Surprised to see they are 'child and dog friendly'. Would not recommend

I recently discovered this place since moving to the area and am just in love with it. It is baby and toddler friendly and the food is absolutely delicious and generous portions for kiddies too. This cafe has a wonderful ethos and you feel it in the atmosphere when you visit- friendly, warm and relaxed. I'm thrilled to have this on our doorstep and think it is an outstanding contribution to the local community. Thank you for creating such an incredible space for us to enjoy and such delicious home cooked food and cakes!

On Friday 24th September we decided to try the set menu Vegan Thai dinner. We aren't vegans but due to my allergy to crustaceans we thought this would be an excellent opportunity for me to try Thai safely - we are so glad we did! There was a good choice of local beer, white and red wines, a rose and a prosecco. My partner had a generously filled "small glass" of the red "Herdade de Gambia" and pronounced it very drinkable. I chose a large glass (it WAS large) of the white Mas Querido and found it a perfect accompaniment to every course. The first course of four was "Tod Mun Pla", no-fish "fish cakes" in a light sauce. We both found these delicious, absolutely delicious! I heartily recommend these to anyone and everyone. Next was "Khao Soi", coconut noodle soup, an aromatic and richly colourful spicy soup. I am quite sensitive to spicy heat and the soup's heat was right on my limit, to the line. My partner has a normal tolerance for spices and said the heat was not at all exceptional, in her opinion it was enough to add that little bit extra to the flavour combination to make the soup a "triumph". I also really liked the lightly crunchy texture of the bean sprouts coupled with the softness of the noodles. The third course consisted of two curries, "Jackfruit Massaman" and "Aubergine Jungle" served with "Larb Salad" and "Jasmine Rice". Both curries were delicious and perhaps my tongue had been desensitised by the soup but they were both well within my tolerance for spicy heat. The salad was very good indeed and the sticky rice was fragrant and very sticky rice-like. I am not a fan of sticky texture and thought that sticky rice can never be anything other than what it is, but when mixed in with the curries it was transformed! Another much more than enjoyable course, delicious in every respect! Dessert was "Mango Rice Pudding" featuring the sticky rice. For me and my partner the mango couldn't lift the sticky rice like the curries of the main course did. Fans of rice pudding might disagree with me and I would urge any such to try the dessert - the mangoes were very tasty! Lastly we had tea and coffee. My partner's tea was a speciality tea, light and fragrant and I found that my decaff latte was the perfect drink to round off one of the most delicious meals we have had for a long, long time. The total cost was £59.75 and for the quality an absolute bargain. For some reason service was not added so we added it ourselves.

I always read the low stars reviews and the answers from the owners. (If there is any) So, this is my plate, if you wanna know about the rest, sorry it is has already gone to my belly and memories. Thank you for health friendly food and service... You are now one of my favourite spot in the neighbourhood. Keep it that way, you are not so many... Lastly, please people this place is not your home but they are trying to be, at least. So, respect your home... Love them, support them... Cherish your glow... Thanks...

A friend recommended this place. The food is amazing. Simple healthy menu yet so flavourful and satisfying! Small, quaint cafe and family friendly. They have a selection of toys to keep my toddler busy. A little pricey compared to surrounding cafes but well worth it. Would definitely come again.

Came in today, after a long awaited trip, I was most excited to visit this cafe after lockdown. Having finally got the chance today, I excitedly approached the counter and asked if the soup was available. I was rudely shut down by the man behind the counter, he replied abruptly with “there is no soup”. I wasn’t offered an alternative. It seemed as if it was too much trouble. When I looked and asked for alternative, that was unavailable too. He didn’t tell me what was available. I didn’t feel welcome, so I just left. Really disappointing. I would have bought anything as I really wanted to try this cafe. Can’t recommend this place in the slightest, such a shame.

Due to the current lockdown The Wilds is only open on weekends but the quality of food and coffee to take away is as excellent as before.The huge brunches can be ordered on-line for delivery the next day but I'd check first to see whether deliveries can be made during the week.Well worth popping by on a weekend morning!

They asked me to vacate the table because I only had a coffee and croissant, and there came people who wanted to eat. It was raining cats and dogs outside. Not nice!

Wow!!!!! What an amazing find this place was. We had the most amazing boozy brunch! I was blown away by the vegan fry up, huge and full of flavour. BF had the best eggs benedict. Please visit the gorgeous place, wonderful food, amazing staff! The cakes are absolutely delicious too, think I found a new favourite spot!

The bagels are lovely too!The brunches are also a delight with a variety of chocies that allow you to tailor your choice to suit yourself.The Wilds does not serve meat, only fish.

I love coming to The Wildes. Daniel and Arta always make an effort to go that extra mile to make sure your food is just to your liking and then some. Their fresh ingredients and cakes are brilliant. They have some fab evening courses you can book on to. Always very imaginative and fun. They are as passionate about being eco friendly as they are about being kid friendly. I would recommend this place 100%

A great local coffee shop that is very kid friendly. My wife and I got there around 10:30am on a Saturday morning and there were plenty of seats. Food is very straight and simple with great prices. We got the porridge and halloumi, tomato and avo beagle. Both were very filling.

Love visiting, has such a great ‘vibe’ to it and always feel welcome. Amazing the children have an area to play and there’s a good choice of toys for little ones and books on the shelf. Until today I’d only ever had drink and cake but today I had breakfast and it was delicious, really filling and great presentation too. Amazing that they appear to run courses, classes and events too. Love that they sell other items like soap, refills and sustainable items, such an asset to the community.

As a life-long local resident, I can confidently say that The Wilds is the best thing to happen to Barnet for years. I feel so lucky to have this gorgeous, cosy community-focussed cafe so nearby! The food is excellent and it's such a treat to have such a huge variety of healthy vegan options to choose from (and always plenty of cake!). There really is so much on offer. Unique and quirky supper clubs, evening workshops, kids' playgroup, zero waste and sustainable goodies for sale, recycling initiatives, beautiful artwork on the walls, outdoor seating, kind and attentive staff...What more could you ask for? It's apparent in both the food and the general atmosphere that the lovely owners of The Wilds run this place from the heart. <3

I love coming to The Wilds. It’s my favourite place to spend time with my friends and family. Dan, Arta and their children have created such a lovely welcoming cafe. They are always putting on special varied events alongside delivering a delicious menu. I held my leaving work do afternoon tea there which was a great hit. Keep the good work up!

Dog friendly cafe, with a lot of vegan dishes on the menu. Healthy salad bowls, delicious vegan and gluten free cakes. Great coffee and nice atmosphere, with beautiful art on the walls.

Love this place and it’s delicious healthy food. The smoked haddock soup, sour dough bread and tortillas are delicious. There’s a play area for young children as well which our 2 year old loves. This place offers great food in a lovely warm, relaxed and cosy setting.

A great little cafe. The owners give up some of the space to run kids play groups, brush lettering workshops, floristry lessons and first aid all helping to serve different parts of the community. They also served free christmas dinners to the elderly and do christmas gift collections for children in care. Amazing stuff and they are a great addition to our highstreet

I love this place. It has great coffee and always a choice of cake (or juices if you want to be healthy!). Savoury, I always seem to go for avocado on sourdough because you just can’t beat perfection! Vegan options always available. This cafe also is trying to be sustainable and reduce its carbon footprint

I wish there were more places like this in Barnet. I often visit with a group of mum friends and our toddlers. The small play area is perfect for them and there's a great kids menu too. They have just updated their menu and the things I've tried have been really nice.

Had an amazing breakfast here this morning while my son was playing football nearby. I had the halloumi tortilla and it was delicious. Will definitely return and always happy to support an independent cafe rather than a chain.

I have been to this cafe a few times over the last 6 months and have always really enjoyed my visit. Good cafe, friendly staff, great food and a lovely little area full of toys at the back for kids to enjoy :) Really like supporting a family run business too.

Such a friendly and welcoming cafe, different from the ordinary. I loved the vegan food which was served quickly with good grace. Wish it had been open when my 19 year old was a toddler

Had a great porridge made with cashew milk. Add bananas and red berries with it, perfect. Very friendly helpful staff. Will definately stop here again when in the area.

The Wilds is quickly becoming a favourite for myself and my friend. The food is fresh and it tastes fantastic. It's incredibly good quality. The menu isn't massive, but there's definitely something for everybody. And everything I've tried is phenomenal. (I'd recommend the chilli and chorizo quesadilla!) I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Good food, many vegan and vegetarian options available, nice staff and a nice little play area for the little ones!

I commented on, the lovely community feel of the cafe to which the owner replied "theres too many children in here at the moment". Really strange, from a cafe that has a play area dedicated to children? I could sense, a few of the parents overhead this and they quickly finished their food and moved along. Really disappointing from a cafe that I've been too so many times and loved. Maybe just a bad day, we all have them but it was a very uncomfortable atmosphere after them comments!

I had a takeaway cappuccino and it was nicer than my pret manger morning fix. Shame they didn't have skimmed milk, that brings it down a star unfortunately. Harsh I know.

Visited a couple times now for the healthy breakfast and it's definitely a place that we need more of around London. Love the healthy options, cosy vibe, decent prices and also very handy that it's a few minutes walk from home. Staff are always lovely and welcoming too. Back again soon!

Stopped off for a quick lunch we had lovely vegetarian bagel - (I’m not a vegetarian) it was fanatic as busy all the choices. That together with good coffee and nice home made cakes - will return

We met up for a girls coffee and crossaints in the new year- could not have chosen a nicer, friendlier local place to meet - delicious food and drink!

We had burgers and soap! Ingredients were very fresh and the drinks refreshing and good service as well!

This cafe was such a disappointment. It really looks the part, shabby chic my kind of style and a great healthy sounding and reasonably priced menu. Plus according to the website, they ‘welcome’ dogs too. This was the main reason we thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately we received a luke warm welcome. My breakfast was bland and poorly presented. It was piled high on the plate, loads of it, it looked unattractive and unappetizing.My sweet potato cakes were more like mash, they were meant to be spicy but lacked flavour and spice. The accompanying garlic mushrooms and halloumi were nice.In terms of dogs being ‘welcome’, this is only true in the sense that they allow dogs in. We or the dog did not feel that we were made ‘welcome’ at all, we will not be returning.

What a lovely cafe. Friendly and helpful service and delicious coffee. Very child friendly and also sells local artwork, though didn't explore inside much, the sun and table outside were too tempting.

Anazing stockpot served every day from 12 . I've been 3 days running, different one each day, all vegan and freshly cooked on the day. Qaulity food at a good price. One of my favorite places to in Barnet to have lunch. Are you still doing these amazing stock pots ??? I loved the Thai green curry topped with Tofu coated in sesame seeds and the Portuguese cabbage soup served with sour dough bread was to die for!

This place is truly wonderful. The staff are really friendly and the food is always fresh. My daughters are both Vegan and its refreshing to find somewhere local that caters for us all with its delicious home made cakes.The coffee is really nice and the reward card is a definite bonus.
