Lovely pub, great food and fantastic service. Very attentive manager. Beautiful open fire to relax in front of. Food has always been good, especially the cheese pie and the Sunday roast. If you enjoy a glass of red I would recommend the Primitivo.

The windmill is lovely for lunch in the week or Sunday lunch ,beef is tender served pink ,the starters and desserts are delicious something for everyone,I have also had the windmill burger which I can thoroughly recommend , our waitress ( a Canadian lady sorry not sure of name ) is truly amazing,nothing too much trouble , our grandkids also like the kids menu . Keep going the way you are .

We came for a meal following a walk, the staff were extremely welcoming, attentive and friendly. Food came quickly, portions were a very good size and the food was hot and fresh. The food was really lovely, the vegetarians with us enjoyed the miso aubergine. The roast beef was great, as was the salmon and the chocolate pot was brilliant.

Only downside to fish n chips is we need proper soak overnight mushy peas... But fish and chips were lovely

Three of us went for a lunchtime meal. All meals were excellent. Very delicious. We hadn't been for a while and we were most impressed.

Enjoyed our first visit,food ( Sunday lunch) was very good. Staff seemed busy, but we didn't have to wait to be served. Food came quickly. Need another choice for a vegetarian. Will return definitely. ps for anyone from Wales who needs additional amounts of gravy for their Sunday dinners they provide extra amounts without any issue !

Ideal for sizes or groups, we had 12 today. Definitely recommendable.

Have tried twice now and it is good for lunch. Whether in the bar or restaurant we found the food and service is very good.

We visited this restaurant as a group of 11, the staff were friendly and the food was very good. The portions were a good size and good value for money. Everything was very well cooked nice and crispy chips and fish, good quality burgers and the fried halloumi was delicious. Would recommend for families the food arrived quickly.

Excellent home cooked food and a great menu! Even the bar menu had more options than expected. The staff here can’t do enough to help… I’ve been here a number of times and have to say it serves some of the best food in Belvoir (& beyond!)

Fantastic mid-week fish-and-chips special. Update: Have returned after four years for another lunch. We had a fantastic meal and the chicken was superb. The speed of service dipped when the restaurant got busier, but otherwise no complaints and we thought it was good value for money.

Very cosy pub and restaurant with a great variety of lagers, ales, ciders, gins and wine! The fish and chips, and buttermilk chicken and chorizo burger were also very good with big portions. Dog friendly and parking available too!

I wish I lived local as this would be my go to local. Unfortunately, I live 90 miles away and only attend when I come to Redmile visiting family. Absolutely faultless in all aspects.

We went for Sunday lunch very disappointed the dinner was swimming in gravy and it Luke warm the veg was that hard hardly cooked the whole meal had just been warm up by pouring gravy over to warm it. When we complained the staff did not want to anything about we will not return

Six of us had a really well cooked roast dinner. Good choices of all courses. Staff helpful and pleasant. Lovely and warm, even sitting near door for drinks. Will definitely go again.

Lovely village pub with great staff, food and drink. Recently visited in September for a Friday lunch and sat in the front garden. Service was great and food was tasty - I had the chicken and chorizo burger and the wife had the roast beef baguette. Would recommend and return.

A little gem of a place in the village of Redmile. Had a fantastic Sunday Lunch today. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was as good as a Michelin star restaurant. Well done Xx

Best pub Sunday lunch I've had in a long time.

Great little pub in the village of Redmile in the Vale of Belvoir. The food was delicious 😋 Staff really friendly and helpful. Good priced menu. We had two courses for £22. The main was Hake, which was cooked to perfection. I will definitely come here again!

Went for a family meal this evening and it couldn’t of been better. Absolutely first class service and food. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. Great menu and beer choice. Highly recommended.

Nice traditional English pub a stones throw from Belvoir castle and set in the lovely vale. Four of us came for lunch time meal on the recommendation of a friend who praised the food and particularly the caramelised pineapple dessert. The pub was quite busy, the staff were nice and helpful and the service was quick, the beer was good and well kept. We all had different mains, which were excellent with good portions. Sadly 😥 the dessert let us down. We ordered the caramelised poached pineapple with rum and coconut sorbet. The pineapple was not caramelised, and it looked like someone had just used a blowtorch on the raw pineapple and blackened the edges, and there was no rum or passion fruit. It just tarnished an otherwise nice visit.

Friday lunch menu. 1st course black pudding followed by pork. Interestingly presented and beautifully cooked.Too full to have a pudding. A relaxed atmosphere and served with a smile. Will return.

My wife & I just popped in for a bar meal and we were so surprised to find an appetizing menu compared with other pubs. We selected a ploughmans( not seen that in a pub for years ) & a cold sharing meat platter. Lovely selection on the plates and really enough to feed 4. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip back in time to what pubs used to be.Staff attentive & faultless. Definitely be back

A brilliant village pub in the Vale. Came for Sunday lunch. The young girl, senior waitress and lad in a blue shirt served us today. Brilliant and friendly staff; quick service; young girl swiftly informed chefs of a mushroom allergy one of our party had. Roast beef was the best I'd ever had. Succulent medium-well British beef which was amazingly cooked - everything about the dish was perfect - Yorkshire, gravy and selection of veg. The roast pork and veggie tart was also apparently delicious. Another nice touch was that the warm bread that you get with drinks is locally baked British produce. I am pleased that they offer Becks beer as that's my favourite lol. Overall, a lovely and quaint village pub with great atmosphere, friendly staff and chefs that care and love to cook the great quality food. An excellent meal and will be back soon. The conservatory dining room at the back is nice and not too hot.

One of the best meals I've ever had in a pub... the roast beef was to die for and my fussy 7yo hasnt stopped talking about the chips... wonderful friendly staff and atmosphere. I'd definitely go again, infact is happily move in xx

Had Sunday lunch with my partner today and it was fantastic. Had 3 courses each and all dishes were great .plenty on the plate so we left full .they allowed our dog in too which was nice .only downside Arthur 'tiger' pringle not serving !!

Went this evening with my partner for a nice meal out. Oh my gosh, the food was amazing. Atmosphere was lovely and the staff super friendly. The chefs really out did themselves. My boyfriend’s Windmill burger was cooked to perfection and my chicken was amazing too! Just how it should be cooked. Amazing flavours too. Had to give a £10 tip. Highly recommend!! :))

Fabulous lunch! The service, the food, the kindness and care to the dogs..of the staff and the visitors...was second to none. Great value too.

We called on the off chance we could get a table at 3.00pm on a Sunday afternoon and told a table was available at 3.30, We waited with a drink in the bar area which was very pleasant with a nice atmosphere,at 3.30 on the dot our table was ready. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent, I have paid a lot more for a lot less elsewhere. I would highly recommend visiting the Windmiil and we will definitely return.

Wow! Truly amazing food, I had the pork and chorizo salad with apple and fennel (which was outstanding), followed by the beef. Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for a pudding but I will definitely return!

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch in this beautifully decorated cosy pub. We will definitely be back again and will recommend to anyone wanting a real treat.

We have just had Roast beef Sunday Lunch at The Windmill, and I have to say it was one of the loveliest Roast dinners I have had for ages. I always rate it on the Beef, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, all of which were perfect, along with the vegetables. The atmosphere and service were excellent, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I can't recommend The Windmill high enough, we will definitely be back.

Stumbled upon here by chance when having a ride out and it was well worth the stop. Good value, nice staff and great food. The fresh bread rolls was definitely the best I’ve had for ages, this was a lovely touch.

This is the 2nd time that food has not been offered due to not enough food. All meal reservations need to pre-booked. Being one of our local pubs, it's disappointing to have this protocol. Until there is a change, I think we will need to go to Chequers or the Dirty Duck, where upto press have never been refused a table for food. Real shame , I do like the pub

Situated in the beautiful village of Redmile. Easy to locate .It has its own carpark along with street parking. Surprisingly spacious, very homely and comfortable. The staff were all friendly , attentive and efficient . A varied menu from bar food to three course meals. All reasonably priced. Guests welcome just for drinks .Outdoor tables available. Such an easy going atmosphere and lovely place to be.

Food was good but I found it a bit fussy as I had to ask what the meals consisted of.

Lovely staff, nice place, only ever sat outside tho, never been inside. People have commented on how expensive it is. I've had three meals served there and each time I have made it clear I am intolerant to mustard and yet each meal had it on?! First time the chef blamed the waitress for not mentioning it, second time the waiter wrote it on the order pad but the chef still put salad dressing on that clearly contained mustard seeds and third time I was served salad with cucumber that was clearly covered in the dressing and looked like it had been picked off another plate and popped on my salad?!!? Moral of the story, eat with caution of you have an allergy or intolerance, they clearly don't communicate or take it seriously and you could end up being poorly.

Just popped in for a drink but ended up having something to eat, lovely place with lovely people who ran it, food was really nice, gorgeous place to sit outside and chill in the sun, highly recommend
