Had a wonderful family meal here today for 8 of us , the bar was extremely busy with every table taken , even so nothing was to much trouble , the service was swift , courteous, and super friendly, the beer was faultless and the food was marvellous, it was Sunday roasts all round, the food was excellent, tasty and superbly cooked , desserts all round again magnificent ( The Pumpkin Pie 🥧 🔥) a big name check to all the staff today - Liv , Joseph, Jordan and Darnell ?( sorry pal couldn’t make out your writing 😂🤦♂️… all deserve a big mention , working in hospitality can be thankless sometimes but these guys did it with a smile on their face and can be proud of the job they do !!… Five Stars all the way ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviews on Sunday roasts are always more subjective than others. I'm usually disappointed, but decided to let reviews guide me again ..... this time it didn't disappoint. Love coming to the Wolf every time we are in the JQ we make sure to go, whether it be for some eating in the daytime, halloween pub quizzing, or boozey evenings with friends, the pub is versatile! Always have a massive selection of beers on tap and a well stocked fridge full of cans, including rare and limited edition ones too. My other half was so excited when we went in December and they had a special Vault City can that he was struggling to find elsewhere. Staff are commendable for their friendliness and good service and they know their stuff about the beers too. Dog friendly. Good decor, nice toasted sandwiches, cosy in winter, good selection of games, my friend is obsesses with the vintage Trivial Pursuit

Great small and independent place with lots of craft beers! Atmosphere and drinks were lovely however Sunday Dinner was below average. Food arrived literally 5 minutes after ordering, which gave a bad impression as it couldn’t have been cooked to order. As soon as waiter put the plate down i touched the roast potato to find it cold, as was everything else. Had it sent back and heated up - not so great when you’re paying £19 for a plate. Food was ok, quite bland and the gravy was definitely from granules- consistency of water and taste of nothing. We also ordered a aide of cauliflower cheese with was really really good! Really disappointed as the roast was just not good enough for the price we paid at all. The Button Factory, also in JQ, serves much better roasts for a cheaper price. Overall really disappointed.

Quirky specialist beer bar on Constitution Hill. Great beer selection, usually ten beers on tap (not hand pull) & good selection of beers in cans and bottles. Prices a bit higher than other bars but definitely worth a visit for the selection. Note closed Mondays, opens 4pm weekdays except Fridays then midday. Interior is what I would call 'industrial' not cosy and tradional but comfortable and lots of tables and chairs in three areas and a few outside in good weather. Note toilets are upstairs, but there is a disabled toilet - ask staff for the key. Friendly knowledgable staff and good service. Snacks and toasties available. St Paul's is nearest Metro tram stop on Constitution Hill, then walk down the hill 3 minutes.

Had a couple of pints here when I came in very thirsty from exploring the Jewellery Quarter on foot during the September heat wave. Had two pints of a refreshing lemon Gose-style from the fish-handled pump. Not cheap, but that sort of beer never is. It was one of a variety of interesting drinks that made this small pub feel like a micropub. It looks across the road to one of my favourite buildings in Birmingham, the sorely neglected faux-Gothic, quirkily domed old H B Sale factory in terracotta. I drank that in with my equally quirky lemon pint. It's a good life. The staff and owners were friendly. And I specially want to mention the sweet, friendly young barmaid, who was so kindly and would go out of her way to chat to me, ask me what I was up to, etc. She made me feel like an invited guest instead of a random, unknown punter.

This is a great pub where we always meet up. The range of more unusual beers is always evolving and I feel like a kid in a sweet shop. One issue I have however is that the bar staff appear to have taken to asking if you’d like to pay a tip each time you visit the bar. This isn’t something I feel should happen- customers feel uncomfortable to be honest!

I always wanted to try their pie, was really surprisingly good. The mushy peas with that mint twist kick gave freshness for such a heavy food. The gravy and mush potatoes were also spot on, did not drenched at all the pie. Decent variety of ciders and ales. Atmosphere is great inside and glad that it is trying to make the area look better. A 5-Star Feast at "The Wolf": A Haven for Toasties, Pies, and More!: If you're searching for a culinary gem in the heart of Birmingham, look no further than "The Wolf." This cozy restaurant nestled in the city's vibrant food scene offers an exceptional dining experience that will leave you craving more. From the warm and inviting ambiance to the friendly and attentive staff, "The Wolf" is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking a taste of comfort and flavor. As I stepped into the restaurant, I was instantly captivated by its tasteful decor, blending modern elements with rustic charm. The cozy seating arrangements and soft lighting created an intimate atmosphere, perfect for sharing a meal with friends or enjoying a moment of solitude. "The Wolf" prides itself on its limited, but carefully curated menu, featuring a tantalizing selection of toasties, pies, nachos, and cheese boards. This focused approach ensures that each dish receives the attention it deserves, resulting in a symphony of flavors that delights the taste buds. On this occasion, I had the pleasure of savoring their chicken, ham, and leek pie, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The golden pastry crust enveloped a generous filling of tender chicken, succulent ham, and perfectly cooked leeks. Each bite revealed a harmonious blend of flavors, with the savory notes of the meat complemented by the subtle sweetness of the leeks. The pie was flawlessly executed, with a flaky crust that melted in my mouth and a filling that was both hearty and comforting. But "The Wolf" doesn't stop at outstanding pies. Their commitment to quality shines through in every dish they offer. The toasties, oozing with gooey cheese and delectable fillings, were a symphony of textures and flavors, while the nachos arrived piled high with a delightful combination of toppings, providing a satisfying crunch with each bite. The cheese boards showcased a thoughtful selection of artisanal cheeses, paired with carefully chosen accompaniments that elevated the experience to a whole new level. Throughout my meal, the staff at "The Wolf" displayed an infectious passion for their craft, delivering attentive and friendly service that further enhanced my dining experience. Their genuine warmth and knowledge of the menu added a personal touch, making me feel like a valued guest in their culinary haven. In conclusion, "The Wolf" in Birmingham is a restaurant that deserves every accolade it receives. With its inviting atmosphere, limited yet exceptional menu, and dedicated staff, it offers a five-star experience that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a pie enthusiast, a cheese connoisseur, or simply seeking a place to enjoy good food and great company, "The Wolf" is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be whisked away on a gustatory journey that will leave you craving a return visit.
