Three Chef's in York

This is a KEBAB shop. This is not a lebanese restaurant. I love lebanese. They didn’t know what a Kibbeh is, I ordered and they charged me for falafel and Halloumi only turned up with falafel. Then went “Shopping” at 23:45 for Halloumi and came back 15 minutes later, although to be fair offered a refund but still no Halloumi….Told them to keep the money. I was sold pup…:

Do not hesitate to visit this little gem in the heart of York. The food is amazing, freshly made and tasteful. The atmosphere is homely and comfortable. And the hospitality is supraordinary. The staff go above and beyond for their customers and ensure that everything is fine for the meal, and even included complimentary dishes. This was such a pleasant experience and I would recommend this to anyone. Halal too and family friendly.

I came in to order some food and asked for the egg burger. The guy just looked at me like he didn't speak any English. I showed him the menu and pointed to the egg burger and he still seemed dumbfounded. He then told me to try some old looking food in the case. Ridiculous.

Absolutely horrible shawarma. Will never return again. Not sure of the chicken quality as well.

Have eaten here after a night out and I think it's fantastic. Unfortunately when I ordered to home, I received the wrong order. Ordered a lamb shawarma with bread and i received a chicken shawarma with no bread. Rang up and they couldn't do anything as Uber eats delivered it and they don't have any drivers to bring the correct order. A bit disappointing as I'm not a huge chicken fan. That said the food was still nice + the boss man said he'd give me free food next time I pop in, so I'll hold them to that! Would still recommend.

Un lugar horrible. Música tan fuerte que duele, que tienes que gritar para que te escuchen, es aún más fuerte cuando te vas así que solo puedo imaginar cómo hace sentir a la gente que vive o se queda cerca. La persona que nos dio nuestras llaves dice que todo el mundo se queja de la música, pero a los propietarios no les importa. ¡Interesante que ningún lugareño coma allí! La comida es muy cara por lo que es, es solo una tienda de doner básica que finge ser un lugar de Oriente Medio, el personal está más interesado en la música y que en la cocina, así que puedo ver por qué. Un turista puede caer en esto, pero nunca dos veces. La carne es de mala calidad, barata pero cobrada a alto precio, las ensaladas calientes y flácidas y las salsas tienen un sabor extraño. El pan está seco y las papas fritas solo necesitan ser arrojadas en un contenedor. Se llaman a sí mismos los tres chefs, así que uno de ellos podría ser capaz de bajar la música y en realidad prestar atención y cocinar algo agradable, pero es York donde toda la ciudad es simplemente una trampa turística diseñada para tomar su dinero por poco retorno...

first time ordering from three chefs. the kofte kebab is absolutely stunning. so flavourful!! highly recommend!! delivery driver was great and text me when nearby due to late hour. 5 stars.

Me and my friend visited Three Chefs after a night out and we were blown away. Lovely service, and beautiful food, especially the rice and lamb ribs! 10/10. The owner is so sweet and gave us free drinks and salad and a cigarette!

Went here with my friend after a night out! The best food ever, had our first dish ans had to get some more. The rice is to die for!!! All topped off with amazing and lovely service, he should be proud! And kindly gave us a cigarette just finish off the meal. Will definitely be back again! Xx

Had to call more than ten times on a Monday before they answered

Food was shockingly small and they fill up the kebab with chips instead of meat. Overpriced and underwhelming. We paid £40 for two kebabs and they wouldn’t have filled up a child. No mention on menu that your meal is 80% chips with a small topping of meat. Will have to order something from somewhere else now as we’re both still hungry. Will definitely avoid this place in future!

Food was good delivery driver was incredibly nice and respectful even going out of his way to help us out only thing I could complain about was the mayonaise just not the best mayonaise but good job would definitely recommend if you’re hungry and want food in the early hours

I’m allergic to red cabbage and as I left a simple instruction for no red cabbage and it still came with red cabbage don’t think they can read simple English the garlic bread slices were frozen and the cheese was all melted to avoid this place

right so let me start, delivery man was amazing we need more like him, your milkshake was unreal I've had loads of milkshakes in my time but this beats all of them, the food aswell was amazing best in York by a million miles, you guys are top tier stuff keep up the fantastic work, if I could give more stars I definitely would

Cuando pasé por este lugar me sorprendió lo fuerte que estaban tocando música, tan fuerte que te desanimó, que nadie quiere comer en un lugar donde sigues teniendo graves rebotando en las paredes. Como tenía hambre decidí darlo, incluso si tienes que gritar al orden! La comida era normal, el servicio era indiferente, y yo también estaba preocupado por lo que me cobraron, ya que hicieron el mismo truco que la revisión anterior había descrito, pero por suerte para mí no me cobraron de más. Aunque la comida era tan pobre me sentí sobrecargado. Este lugar tiene muchas críticas en otras aplicaciones pero las buenas críticas parecen ser de la misma poca gente, las malas de un grupo más amplio de personas, me pregunto por qué es eso? ? Antes de regresar a mi casa de vacaciones tuve una maravillosa conversación con un lugareño que me dijo que están volviendo loca a la comunidad con su música y muchos se niegan a comer allí por esa razón.

La comida y el servicio eran buenos, pero el tipo que servía deliberadamente oscureció el dispositivo de pago al sostenerlo frente a mí, y solo cuando revisé mi teléfono más tarde me enteré de que me había cobrado casi el doble del precio en el tablero de menús. En conclusión, la comida era muy buena, pero asegúrese de comprobar lo que se le está cobrando.

Working night shift and difficult getting food after hours. Super fast and reasonable price, even got a free delicious chocolate milkshake :) definitely my got to at nights

There was a mix up with the menu, so some items I expected weren’t delivered- but they went out of their way to come back out with them, even though it wasn’t their fault - plus some extras as an apology. The food was amazing and customer service top notch

made an order last night the food was spot first time I've ordered here and never again I got a large lamb shish £16 and got 8 cubes of lamb the chips were nice but half a carton absolute rip off first and last time I order from here

My friend and I were sceptical about this place upon first impression as the staff look like a gang of young men who all want to be somewhere else, doing something else, but we were hungry so took a chance. There are some good reviews form one person online who seems to like it he eats there very week so we tried it. We both wish we hadn't! Burnt, fatty, poor quality meat that was cold so the fat was lumpy, the bread was days old, dry and stiff and the salad tasted of bitter off lettuce with a hint of fridge. It was probably the worse meal I have eaten in York, perhaps anywhere. Avoid.

Ordered on just eat, my order was about 20 mins later then the app had said. The food was kind of cold but still very nice. I live far away from the restaurant and they still delivered so I'm not too annoyed about it being cold. There was one of the bottles of drink missing but they had called me and sorted it personally. Not happy about the cold food or missing drink and will try the restaurant again, good service and nice food.

Ordered a lamb shish,which consisted of four pieces of meat that was hard and chewy,we went back in the following night to tell them but they couldn’t have cared less. Reading through the reviews,we aren’t the only ones that think the meat is tough. It certainly wasn’t worth £9.50. We won’t be back.

Went for the lamb shish.. it consisted of 4 pieces of meat which was tough and chewy,the salad was boring,it was pretty poor all round. We went back the following night to tell them as we were staying across the road,but they couldn’t have cared less. For £9.50 it was overpriced!!! Just avoid and go somewhere else,there’s so many more places,like over the road,which is where I’d wished I’d gone.

Really terrible food. Arrived stone cold, the meat in humous dish was dripping in oil which had leaked everywhere. We couldn’t eat any of it and ended up throwing it all away.

Definitely worth a visit: Smokey chargrilled lamb and chicken - both were tasty and tender. Friendly staff and clean. My daughter and I will be back! Thank you!

quick delivery and really tasty food:) I can't recommend this place enough. I ordered a mix shawarma, chips and baklava. The chips and shawarma were still hot when they got here and the portions were really big for the prices, which was nice, they were also really delicious and tasted fresh. they also came with two free pots of chilli and garlic mayo. I also got baklava for pudding it came with 3 big pieces which was also really tasty.10/10 will definitely be ordering again I really reccomend

Have you ever ordered lamb shish and actually had cubes of 'lamb' that were cooked in some kind of tomato sauce dumped into something that isn't quite a wrap and isn't quite a pitta with a bit of offcut iceberg as salad? Me either until now, don't waste your money.

Utterly disgusting. 8 small pieces of cold lamb. Cold bread, cold chips and soggy salad. Absolutely appalling food! 🤬🤬😭😭

Ordered via just eat, paid astronomical prices for spicy chips (that were literally just a portion of regular chips. Nothing different about them whatsoever) Mixedkebab (chicken was nice the rest was absolute trash, dry inedible and fatty) side salad (white cabbage in this was literally sour off and rotting. Couldn’t eat any of the salad) and a £2.50 bottle of Fanta ( I received one can) Unbelievable rip off, blatantly lying on the menu about what youll receive and awful awful quality. AVOID

Service was friendly and quick and came with a can of Fanta which I wasn't expecting. the chips weren't great and needed some salt, but the chicken shawarma burger was lovely and to a good standard. generous pots of sauce.

Ordered via uber eats and got 3 smoothies. Order came quickly and was sooo good! We also got given some free hummus and flatbread and the driver was very kind. Not to mention, we had ordered at around 3am. Made me very happy, would recommend!

Decent portion size, lots of options. Their Baklava is delish, smoothies fresh andfruity, and the fresh made drinks particularly the strawberry virgin mojito are refreshing and zingy.

Food was cold on arrival! Would be better if the food was wrapped in foil to keep warm, not impressed.

Best place in York to eat past 9 o’clock. The 1/4 1/2 and whole chickens with lemon rub or spicy bbq are exceptional. Lamb ribs are expensive but of a high quality. You won’t find a better late night take out in the uk. Probably best to eat in as it might not travel well’

£10 for 5 bits of tepid halloumi, a heap of iceberg lettuce and no wrap?

I ordered via just-eat. The person who answered the phone was speaking another language and used a curse word instead of (Hello) and did not know that I understand it. I did not react and talked in english. He asked me to cancel my order via just-eat and order via Deliveroo or Uber-eats to get my food otherwise it will take me 2 hours. If this is an employee they need to fire him. If it is an owner then this is a massive shame. This was my first time to try them and I decided I will never do.

Arrived with my family. 4 of us at around 10pm. Brilliant service by the team and the food, oh wow it is delicious!!! Thank you so much, looking forward to next time.
