I've used this place many times. Whatever i've asked for as always been cooked well & very flavoursome. I called in last night to quickly grab a few bits on the way home. When i walked in i was told unfortunately they'd just closed. Gutted but i asked If they'd got anything at all left & i kid you Not What was Left Chips, A Battered Sausage & A Beef Pie was Exactly what i was going to be ordering. I said Great i'll take it. They bagged it up & then Would Not take Any Payment Whatsoever. What A Lovely Gesture & i just want to give these Very Kind People a Shout Out. THANK YOU Merry Christmas & by the way the food Once Again was Mouthwatering. Regards Mark.

Asked for extra vinegar on my deliveroo order and they gave me a bottle! This is the best place to exist in England, I will go here for the rest of my life. I will pass down this knowledge to my children and they will pass it on to their children and so on, the Tom Bell legacy will live on.

Been here again a week ago two large cod REALLY not large at all. Not the first time I have questioned the size of the fish £ 26 for what was two medium cod and only one large chips. The staff member even tried to short change me as the on line service app was not working. She said sorry but no real effort in her voice. They even charge for service. A poor Service all round. Other reviews say the same there's enough of them.

Sadly tasted absolutely discusting. £26 for 2x fish n chips to be thrown in bin tasteless fish like mush and strange taste to batter chips like rock picked through to find edible

Great staff, always greets you with a smile, and their service is simply excellent. I always order for my team every week and have had no problems.

Cod was lovely but chips were dry & we threw them away.

Absolute shocker this place. Always grumpy staff I give them the benefit of the doubt every 6 months but they never fail to disappoint with being moody. Food now really expensive. They've finally after many years accepted cards but they've dealt with it by adding loads to the cost of the fish. Simple sausage over £3. There are so many better fish and chip shops in Sevenoaks. I've lived here all my life so I know. These lot are cheap bandits. Avoid at all cost!

To say I am underwhelmed is an understatement. The large cod that I ordered looked fantastic in size but the batter if you could call it that was over cooked but the middle of the fish was undercooked the curry sauce tasted like a pot noodle and the spring roll was also undercooked, I called to inform the establishment .fair enough he offered me a free meal if I went back.if I could of driven I wouldn't of deliverood my food. I was reluctant to leave a review as the replies from the owner tend to be aggressive.our family have been master fish mongers for over 60 years.so we know undercooked frozen fish when we see it.

The Service is really nice, the food is the best one I have ever had, and the most significant point is that the employees are very amicable and greet me every time.

Had delivery's from here during covid, was recommended by an old neighbour, popped in last Saturday it was the best fish & chips I've ever had, will definitely be going back.

Absolutely brilliant experience! Placed a huge order for a school PTA event. Ellie was fantastic from beginning to end. Great communication (and patience when my communication wasn’t brilliant). The food was delicious, it was hot and ARRIVED ON TIME which as organiser of an event was absolutely crucial. Tom Bells has always been reliable for our events. In addition to the good quality food which arrives well packed and hot means we will be using them again. Thank you Ellie and the team!

Too slow, too slow, too slow, Deliveroo etc takes preference, too dear (compared locally) and too much fancy boxing, packets, bags and liveried carriers etc ( WHICH THE CUSTOMER IS PAYING FOR and then discards) nightmare parking. Cash only for collections??? In 2023??? Whats all that about??? I will not go again

Always used this local fish and chip shop for convenient delivery but today they gave me the tinniest piece of fish I've ever had. I'm not a 3 year old!

Such a nice place. The service is great, the place is clean and always tidy. The food, of course is great. The fish was always cooked to the right temperature the 2 times I was there.

Tom bells make it up with my order. I was shorted of a pickle egg. They made it up by giving me 2 pickled egg and a diet coke. Just to add. Tom bells does some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The plaice, cod and haddock are perfection. The large chips are good and actually large portion compared to other fish and chip shops.

Such a nice place. The second time I've visited. The fish and chips is huge! The prices are reasonable. I went back because I remembered how clean the place and friendly the staff were.

This fish and chip shop are the best in town there always very helpful special the lovely lady havva alp when I have to order for my elderly parents they r always so helpful so if ur in seven oaks or getting of the train head straight to tom bells great service always with a smile great value for money lovely hot food defiantly reckonmend them

There is no valid reason for any Takeaway in 2022 to be 'Cash Only'. The cost of paying in cash to a business account is roughly the same as card transaction fees. Paying by card is quicker, safer and more efficient than cash and the majority of people prefer to pay by card or Apple/Google pay these days. It's a very poor business decision to have a 'Cash only' sign outside, as you will will be losing a lot of business as a result. A large percentage of people never carry cash anymore. What is your motivation for insisting that customers only pay in cash, regardless of the amount they spend?

Foods great am down here from the border the staff are so much more polite than in Scotland hopefully al be back this way at sompoint to keep trying different things on the menu

This is the best fish and chip shop by far their products are always top quality the fish is so good and the chips are always fresh and piping hot the staff always polite and helpful I cannot recommend this fish shop enough great job guys keep it going

Visiting the area on a job and have to say service was very pleasant and the food was wonderful. We had fish cake and chips with curry sauce. Fish cake was wonderful, nice and hot. Curry sauce was warm ish but taste great. A little shy with salt and vinegar but overall a wonderful experience.

We visited Sevenoaks fish and chips shop and were delighted with the friendly staff. Alp and Havva helped set up a table and chairs by the road so we could eat there, their great service made the fish taste even better! Thank you!

Tried for the first time last night and can honestly say - some of the best fish and chips I have ever tasted!!!! Will be back again :-)

Food was amazing but given the current pandemic 10 people just standing waiting for orders in the shop is way too many. This is not entirely down to the shop and the lack of common sense of the people inside.

Best to phone order in advance during Covid.

Even though the food can take a little while it is definitely worth the wait. I must say I strongly disagree with Catherine martins rating as if it was not for the staff and the young lady at the counter we would not have been able to enjoy our Friday supper. I have had a few fish and chip takeaways before and I must say this one is the best not only for there food but for the lovely service and hygiene. Keep up the excellent work!

Just had a Deliveroo from here....great service...the fish was excellent...however the side of chips were a great disappointment...they were old and tasted like old oil...

The fish chips other things I had were not at all nice they very greasy I did order some things off it, they miss a fish out off it I payed for.

It’s one of the traditional fish & chips shop, enjoy fresh and thick cut chips. Found this whilst driving on way to shoreham. A box with loads of yummy calories 😂. vegetable spring roll seems quiet traditional, can enjoy when shared. Parking not available unless weekends.

Terrible. Placed an order via Deliveroo. Chips were Dry and the cod was mushy. And a large cod costs 8.50. Avoid!

Ordered via deliveroo. Ordered a Haddock..apparently u need to add chips as a side..Surely for £8.50 it should be part of the meal??? To add it as a side..u need to scroll past the burgers and sausages to find it. Who knew I would add as a basis its included and needs to be removed.

Over rated chippy. Been here 3/4 times (only because it’s opposite the train station) Staff are stand offish and borderline rude. They don’t acknowledge you when you’re waiting and only seem to be able to deal with one customer at a time. Food isn’t that great either,(always had under-done chips, or fish, or a combination of both). As one of 4 dedicated chippies in the area, it comes at the bottom by a long way. Look elsewhere!

I have been here a few times Got burgers/chips/Cod/battered sausage Burgers are not great Chips are hit and miss. Mostly undercooked Soggy batter on the cod and the battered sausage is usually either very chewy or very oily

First time I been here and will be the last time as the god was not cooked probably batter was still soggy in side and I had to take it back and get new cod witch was still the same the man said it was cooked. I think I would know if it was not cooked .don't go here not good place for food.

Quarter pounder? A dry meat patty on a dry roll. No tomato, onion, lettuce or sauce. The worst burger I have ever been served.

Twice ordered a quarter pounder with cheese and twice got no cheese. The man behind the counter asked if I wanted tomato and lettuce with my burger. I said yes and just got a burger with a bit of onion and burger sauce. A burger van would serve a better burger! Chips are alright. Sausage in batter are too oiley. Overall a poor effort.

Quick, friendly service, place looked pretty clean for a chippy. Food seemed fresh, BUT... chips were a little underdone for my liking, fish portion was fine in terms of size but the batter was categorically not traditional. It was closer to that found on prawn balls at a Chinese. Largest complaint is that the veggie spring roll ordered had chicken or some other unidentified meat in it. The fact that they do not take card payments in this day and age is frankly laughable.

This place has really gone down hill! Ordered large cod and chips and they gave it to me in a paper bag all broken and dripping with oil! I took it back and they did give me a better cod but from my opinion this place is nothing like it was years ago.. terrible with two young boys running it now. Won’t be going there again.

4 stars because it's cash only, but there is a free ATM at the rail station; otherwise, the food deserves a 5. Interior was very clean. Portions for the price was excellent. My wife and I shared a large cod and were satisfied. They were even nice enough to cut in half for us before cooking. I've heard that at peak times there is a wait and it helps to call in but went around 7 and waited 5 minutes. Their smaller order of chips (called medium on the menu) was right for the 2 of us. Condiments other than salt and vinegar are extra. Yes the staff was very serious and seemed moody as other reviewers have said but the quality speaks for itself

Brilliant chip shop with arguably the best chips in Sevenoaks. Located close to the train station, normally you can expect to find people waiting for their orders but the wait is never that long. It is also possible to phone in advance and order and this would be recommitted if you are sorry on time. Family run chip shop with a secret batter recipe which is great. Easy to get to and the service is quick. There are other Tom Bells around the area and worth looking out for because of the great food.

Fabulous Fish and Chips. Sure the atmosphere is quiet and methodical but these are fish and chip priests living a blameless life of devotion in their fish and chip church. Hail Cod!

Great chips. Asked for them well-done and it was no problem. They were crisp, delicious and reasonably priced. Good portion size too.

Not an authentic fish and chip shop cooked by Eastern Europeans but this wasn't the issue here. The chips tasted dry and like cardboard and it took too long as well. The batter used to cook batter sausage is different to most fish and chip shops in UK and it's the type of batter they would use on an American Corn dog. I would not recommend this place at all.

Service is slow and staff appear moody. Waited for a bag of fresh chips to then be given the crispy left overs. Poor service hiding behind a well established name.

Eating my chips to find something hard and it was a stone not happy very rude after explaining what happened and didnt get any money back after not eating my food because of this and get talled that we picked it up of the street. Staff didn't even say sorry dont advise anyone to go there

Excellent chips and there are happy to fry twice to make them extra crispy. All food from Tom Bells has been excellent. Very polite staff.
