Only a short stay in Shanklin, but fancied a Sunday Roast. Pleased we chose Tommy Bradshaw's . Superb plateful of lovely roast beef, with roast pots, a huge Yorkshire & stuffing ball. Also Gravy & some mash, maybe Celeriac, very tasty. Then the side dish of vegetables was served, enough for at least 3 if not 4 between 2 of us. Splendid lean, tender beef, and so many vegetables to accompany, we did struggle somewhat, but gave a good account of ourselves for a couple of OAPs. Highly recommend, would certainly visit again when we are on the Island.

Found most places were booked out saturday evening in shanklin village so this was our last option before going back to hotel. So glad we did. Lovely food plenty of options as well. decent portions proper veg the sea bass was excellent and large unlike italian chains that look half the size. recommended if you struggle to get anywhere in shanklin village even on a saturday. Fosters as well not those fancy lagers that cost in most pubs.

Four of us visited during a trip to the Island, we arrived without a booking just before the kitchen closed, there were good choices on the menu and a specials board, three of us had fish & chips and I had Sausage and mash. Reasonable prices and good service. Worth a visit.

Came here with friends over the May bank holiday multiple times. The family who run it are lovely and were really friendly and chatty. There was a man on a guitar playing music and taking requests and he was really good. Would definitely pop in again if in Shanklin. Thank you

This has to be the best place i’ve been too since staying at shanklin. Rachel the manager is the friendliest person! Lovely and welcoming. It’s a place that feels like a community! The food was lovely and the drinks were good! Very reasonable prices too! If you’re staying at shanklin i highly recommend popping in for drinks or some food. It’s a really lovely family run establishment. We will be coming back! See you in the summer Rachel! Love Caitlin & Ellie , Thank you for making our last evening a great one!

After reopening again in 2023 after its closure in 2022 everything seemed to be going well until late in 2023 when despite not having any information that it had closed, it shut one night never to reopen. No notices in the windows. No announcement like last time to tell their loyal customers that they'd decided to close down. And now it seems it HAS closed down & is being turned into flats! Well, there's a lot of unhappy people from over the last 30 years who would have liked to have been told 😔 Bad form Chip Ahoy....

Living nearby we are always on the look out for a new restaurant to add to our list of eating out places. My husband booked the Table for my birthday meal. First impressions were good, bright, fresh, clean and welcoming. With a lovely well stocked bar, a cocktail before dinner was most enjoyable. As for the meal itself it was a mixture of highs and lows. Possibly some of the staff are new to their jobs. The wine was opened and poured without being offered the chance to try, the waiter looked surprised when my husband said he would like to try it first. We had to ask for bread, but when it arrived, still warm, possibly home made, it was served with a delicious olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic dip. One of our guests first requested choice of starter was unavailable, as the restaurant was almost empty this was a surprise as I can’t imagine they had run out. I had a starter of mackerel, in my opinion this should have been thinly sliced as the gin cure hadn’t penetrated the fish completely so was a little chewy. But was still edible. A main course of whole plaice, or possibly sole, was pleasant but so undistinguished I can’t remember what fish it was! It was though bordering on the over salted side, but as someone who chooses not to use a great deal of salt this could be a personal choice. Served with what was listed as a Greek salad, although with the addition of mint rather than oregano, it was very tasty nevertheless. My husband had told them it was my birthday but alas no decorated birthday wishes plate, or even a candle in a sweet was offered. Overall a pleasant evening with friends, but I doubt we will be adding The Table to our list of restaurants to return to.
