We had the vegetarian and the classic New Year's Eve menu. Both menus were very good and authentically prepared. The selection of individual dishes within the menu was also nice and there was something for every taste. The service was good but a bit too rushed. I would have liked to have taken things a little easier :). We had a lovely evening at Trishna.

The restaurant offers an impressive selection of traditional coastal Indian dishes, expertly prepared to elevate the classic flavors of curries and biryanis. We enjoyed the balance between refined techniques and the simplicity of authentic recipes. While the service occasionally faltered, lacking the seamless efficiency one might expect from a Michelin-starred establishment, the food more than made up for any minor setbacks. Although there was no amuse-bouche — perhaps due to our à la carte choices — we appreciated the thoughtful compliments from the kitchen. Overall, the culinary experience was both satisfying and comforting, even if it didn’t entirely deliver the wow factor we anticipated from a Michelin-starred venue.

Went there a couple of months back. Food was amazing and as per expectations. But I did see a mouse in their washroom which was shocking, especially since it was a Michelin star. Their service overall was good and they seems shocked too when I told them about the mouse. Not sure what they did after that. Until that incident, it was a recommended experience.

Tasting menu started off really well with the papads, incredibly tasty chutneys and the flavourful smoked salmon tayir sadam. The mallard chutney seekh was the highlight, each bite an incredible sensation in my mouth. Given the price of the tasting menu, expected more of the dishes to hit the heights of the spice infused dabbling duck. I love ducks and so had mixed emotions as I chipped away at the kebab, from my taste buds experiencing extreme euphoria to a devastating guilt back to happy taste buds and then utter melancholy once it was all gone.

Food here is exceptional. Some of the best Indian fine dining you’ll find in London. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They will look after you, with a smile. The only let down is that the restaurant is very narrow and lacks atmosphere. We went here for our anniversary and spent £300. We were unfortunately seated next to an extremely loud table with a man who was practically shouting incessantly (though they left just after our first starter), and given the small size of the restaurant this did dampen our experience somewhat. This is outside of the staff’s control so I absolutely can’t fault the restaurant for this but if you’re looking for a more romantic ambience for a special occasion, try Chutney Mary or even Bombay Bustle. However if you’re just looking for a fantastic meal with good service, don’t hesitate to book. The food is sublime. We look forward to visiting again!

Visited this place following a few recommendations. I had the 6 course tasting menu, which was a good meal but nothing I would deem as Michelin star quality. The atmosphere is very relaxing but what we didn't appreciate was to be told we only had 15 minutes left before the table was needed for the next set of customers. We have never encountered this at a starred restaurant before and felt the service was rushed.

I would have rated it 4 stars if most of the courses weren't so underseasoned. The assorted papads were alright, no comments there. The Turkey pepper fry with parotta (the only flawless course) was just outstanding, there were distinctive sweet and citric tones complimenting the spicy flavours well. The chicken chops were cooked to perfection but the downsides were that it didn't have enough salt and the unnecessary lentil dish on the side, which was just bland and felt excessive. Now for the main...which was a lot of food! Yet the gongura lamb left much to be desired. Both the main dish and the potatoes needed more SALT. Like I can't highlight it enough. The dessert, Chennar Payesh, was good if not great, and AGAIN it needed more SUGAR. I'm not just ranting out of order here, but having been to so many restaurants I know my tastebuds well. I wasn't disappointed with the experience but in all honesty, I don't think it's michelin star worthy.

Probably my favourite Indian restaurant anywhere in the world. Ridiculously good value for its well-deserved Michelin star. The focus is on South Indian food, so I would suggest that you lean into that versus some of the more 'default' dishes. Particular standouts are the salmon, the prawn curry and the absurdly good carrot and bean thoran (a dish that has no business being as good as it is). Lovely relaxed setting too.

Got the most popular dishes (soft shell crab, dill tandoori salmon, tandoori lamb chops) as well as the brown crab curry. Unfortunately, the brown crab curry was overwhelmingly salty and peppery. Tried to send it back but was ignored by multiple servers who passed by. When I finally tracked down a server to pay for the check, I mentioned to them that the dish was way too salty and peppery and to let the chef know. All they did was ask if I wanted to pack it up to go rather than to rectify the situation (offer another menu item, take it off my check, etc). I gave them another chance by telling 2 other different servers about it, but nothing still. Was charged for it in the end. Although the rest of the dishes were fine, this experience with the brown crab curry tainted the rest of my evening’s enjoyment at the restaurant. The Michelin inspectors should reconsider their 1 star rating for future years, and the Trishna team should carefully re-evaluate their curries (a few other reviews have commented on the excessive saltiness and greasiness).

This is a wonderful restaurant with tasty Indian dishes. I had dinner here with my sister and ordered appetiser Aloo Tokri Chat and mains were Cashew Pepper Chicken, Heirloom Carrot and Dorset Brown Crab, which is the standout. It is delicious and tender with the perfect garlicky and peppery taste. Overall, Trishna is exceptional in delivering flavourful dishes, and their service as well. It is well worth a visit for anyone looking for a refined Indian cuisine restaurant in London.

Trishna has its strengths, particularly in service and selecting dishes like salmon and turkey, but many other areas need improvement. The uncooked rice and the lacklustre Pepper Chicken were significant letdowns, which you would expect better at this price point. Failing to boil rice properly is something I have never experienced in any restaurant. I hope to see improvements in these areas in future visits if I ever feel like it deserves one. These missteps were surprising for a restaurant that prides itself on its culinary heritage and has a Michelin star. However, this should not deter anyone to atleast visit once. Pros: Service Dill & Pepper Salmon The Sharabi Turkey Chocolate Cake Cons: Uncooked Basmati Rice Cashew and Pepper Chicken Main Size of the Table

So almost cancelled dinner as my husband got food poisoning and I hate dining alone unless I’m at a counter. I spoke with the manager, Preeta, and she convinced me to come and they’d take care of me. So I arrive and probably have the best table in the house where it’s central part of the action but not exposed. Food was amazing. Duck naan was a Lovely starter and I couldn’t decide between the lamb chops and salmon so Preeta gave me a sample of both. Can’t decide which I liked better. Somm from Sardegna was super knowledgeable and helped me pick a great bottle of white he had off list (just gotten in). I also wanted a glass of red and he served me my pick and brought me a taste of his pick, a South African wine, which was delicious and lighter than most South African wines I’ve had which is nice. We’ve loved their sister restaurant Gymkhana for years but this was a fun more casual vibe with equally great food. They could not have made me feel more welcome. ❤️

Visited for lunch and had the four-course Taste of Trishna menu. We ordered the soft shell crab, followed by paneer tikka and green pepper chicken chops, then for the main we ordered gongura lamb and cashew & pepper chicken then finally for dessert the rasmalai and semifreddo. The mains were accompanied by roast potatoes, dhal, rice and a bread basket and as a starter snack a huge basket of papadams and chutneys was brought to the table. It was an incredible amount of food showcasing all the exotic flavours of coastal Indian cuisine. Hard to choose a favourite, they were all very good! The drinks menu is extensive, I liked the spiciness of the Kulukki Fizz cocktail and the beers, brewed especially for the restaurant, pair very well with the food. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, the meal was well paced and drink orders arrived quickly. The venue has a lovely ambience and is tastefully decorated. The lunch service attracted a diverse crowd with business lunches, friends catching up, regulars stopping by for their usual order and tourists like us wanting to sample one of London's best rated restaurants. The food was as you’d expect. Brilliant. Everything nicely balanced and the dishes that were spicy struck that level to feel the heat, but not distract from the flavours leaving you with a warm glow after each dish. Although it had been a while since my last visit, I have been a long time fan of Trishna, having dined there perhaps 4-5 times in the past. On this occasion I visited for a Sunday lunch with the wife and kids. It felt like not much had changed in terms of the décor and even the menu looked very familiar. The 4 of us ordered the papadums, chaat, Tellicherry squid & shrimps, tandoori salmon, coconut scallops, Dorset crab, gongura lamb and the spinach, along with some naans and rice. For dessert we shared the chocolate chikki and fig kheer. It was a lot of food and we packed some to take home. The quality of the food was solid throughout and felt quite consistent with prior visits, but at the same time I was not really blown away by any of the dishes. I did love their Kithul old fashioned though! Service was excellent, staff were very friendly and professional and pretty much all of them seemed to originate from India as did most of the other guests, which all helped to create an authentic vibe. The bill for our family lunch came to a punchy £336, of which around £100 was spent on drinks. On the whole an enjoyable meal but I feel like Trishna may have lost some of its spark by standing still while the Indian restaurant scene has continued to evolve in London. Just within the JKS family itself there are newer and more exciting offerings such as Bibi and Ambassadors Clubhouse (with a recent meal at the latter being substantially cheaper than Trishna). Clearly Trishna has retained a loyal following as the place was packed and to reiterate the food was enjoyable while service was a strong point, but all that said it would no longer feature in my top picks for Indian food in London.

Quite possibly the best Indian meal I have ever had. When you arrive you could easily be fooled into thinking that this is just another mid-market Indian restaurant, but you would be wrong. From the moment you step inside, you are treated like royalty by the friendly, attentive and most importantly... knowledgeable staff. The food is outstanding. we opted for a tasting feast which had been specially prepared for Diwali. Every dish was beautifully presented and prepared. the use of spices was spectacular. some of the dishes (lobster and scallops) required subtle sauces and did not disappoint. This restaurant avoided the temptation to make everything "hot", opting for wonderful and varied taste instead. the wine list is expansive, and there are some very pricey options. that said there is a varied enough list to cater for almost any preference and budget. highly recommended

Very average cafe style outside decor style, untypical of the ‘regency stone’ london buildings we are all very used to. Small and cosy interior, which is quite a muted decor that is forgotten by the average man. Interior lights and fittings also lost to the eye. Having tasted Indian food across the world- we ordered the tasting menu (early evening). The chaat vegetarian dish was palatable - but nothing different nor surprising. Rather flat and nothing ‘inventive’. Perhaps evoking a gastronomy element here would take this dish to the next level- with animation and smokiness to add depth to the dish. Also wrapping this up in filo pastry would bring extra texture. The main course was not spicy enough, we had to send it back to the kitchens, despite notifying them of our palate beforehand. The worst thing is that the chef actually disagreed with our view on the food…remarks you would not even want to hear… Dessert was a kulfi - with edible flowers on top. As an amateur cook, I could prepare a kulfi in moulds and put two sliced apples casually posed by the side of the dish. Indian noodles with crumbs, green apple sauce, some red textured bits on the plate only add confusion in a dish that lacks cohesion and clarity. Chef really needs to rethink the whole menu- to create balance across the dishes, yet oozing flavour. Currently there is a fair line up but not enough done to make memorable. Small variyari (seed dessert cleanser) to finish. Food is not green park level in like with other Michelin star restaurants, but a cafe esq Indian experience that, unfortunately, fails to deliver. I will not be returning but continuing my journey of discovering the very best Indian restaurants the world has to offer…

During my week-long visit to London from California, I made it a point to explore the city's renowned Indian cuisine. Trishna, a restaurant recommended by Google search, was where I met a high school friend for dinner. While my expectations were high, the vegetarian food was just okay. The kofta (HYDERABADI SUBZ KOFTA) was dry (although the restaurant kindly refunded me for it), but the eggplant dish (BABY AUBERGINE VATHAGAL) and the coconut & corn tikki were both excellent. The bread basket offered three varieties, but I only enjoyed the kulcha. The ambience was a bit cramped with tables placed too close together. However, the service was outstanding, especially since they refunded me for the kofta. Overall, I'd give Trishna a 4-star rating. However, given the vast number of restaurants I haven't yet explored in London, I probably wouldn't go back.

We were seated and offered the cocktail menu, closely followed by the head waiter going through the food menu options with us. We chose one of the tasting menus. There were a few real surprises. Who knew that partridge would take spices so well. The venison, lamb and lobster were all a delight. My big surprise was the spinach and sweet corn, which both my wife and I enjoyed. I've never had spinach taste like that before. We shared the two deserts, one an apple kulfi and other was the "perfect combination of chocolate, ginger, pistachios and jackfruit ice cream." More than just a chocolate cake. On leaving, my wife forgot to take her hat. I contacted the restaurant and with no fuss, they had already posted it to our home in Sweden. Amazing Indian Feast at Trishna! 4 of us recently dined at Trishna, and it was an unforgettable experience! We started with the aloo tokri chaat and paneer tikka – both bursting with flavor. The coconut and corn tikka was a unique and delightful surprise (probably my fav), and the garlic prawns were perfectly seasoned. The star of the night had to be the hariyali bream – fresh, vibrant, and cooked to perfection. For mains we also enjoyed the chemmen manga curry, which had just the right balance of spices and tanginess. The makai palak was creamy and satisfying, and the assorted breads and rice complemented every dish. For dessert we had the rasmalai, pistachio kulfi and mango Pannacota. We ordered the seabream, tellichery squid and shrimps and the Mutton chops, the first two of which were good but not remarkable in any aspect. The Mutton chops were excellent but very pricey for the portion size but I understand this is a fine dine however the atmosphere is not exceptional either. The assorted bread basket was a total let down. The kulcha amongst them was too raw. For the price we pay this place is not worth it and is saved by the service. I would rather go to Kricket in Picaddily ,although it's Indian fusion, I can't remember one dish that is not praiseworthy.

One of the wonderful Indian restaurants in London. It has a Michelin star. The service is great and the food is good They have a branch with a different name located in Riyadh, and branches around the world

Bland food, far too overpriced. Very little flavour and the dal seemed watered down. £200 bill felt like a complete rip off. How Trisha is michellin starred is genuinely beyond me.

Bland food that is very overpriced. We went for a birthday and both left confused as to how Trishna has a michellin star. We've had many indian meals in London and Trishna was the worst. Wouldn't return even on a free work lunch.

Best Indian food I have ever tasted. Would have loved the tasting menu - our neighbor table had it and it looked spectacular. The sommelier was amazing - he knew all about Austrian wines (where we live)! Very impressive - altogether a perfect evening. Thank you!

Food was alright. But they gave us the table for only two hours. So inspite of spending a fortune for the food, they rushed us through the different courses in such a hurried fashion that it ruined the experience for me. Especially since I had gone there for my birthday and wanted to enjoy a nice relaxing meal with my family :(. Won’t ever go back.

Superb taster menu. Added lamb chop house speciality as icing on the cake. So many superb courses - crab real treat - and some excellent red wine. Expensive of course but brilliant experience.

It's the second time I go. The place is very nice and the waiters are very friendly and professional. I think this second time I had the bad luck of going during rush hour and the service seemed somewhat overwhelmed. Prices for 2 pax €273 menu without pairing and with 2 bottles of water. For this price and the distinction of a star you have to demand perfection. Something that they do not comply with at all times. The women's bathroom had a waterlogged floor and smelled of pee. As for the food, it is of very good quality but be clear that you have to prepare so that everything is very spicy. To conclude that I am not dissatisfied with the place but for my part I would not return.

Trishna, a Michelin-starred restaurant in London’s Marylebone Village, offers a refined culinary journey through the rich flavors of southern India. Its dedication to tradition and innovation shines through in every dish, with the tasting menu serving as an exquisite showcase of the restaurant’s culinary mastery. The aloo chaat, a lively burst of contrasting flavors and textures, brings together tangy tamarind, sweet cooling yogurt, perfectly spiced chickpeas, and crispy potatoes in a vibrant medley. Another standout, the shahi salmon tikka, is beautifully marinated in spices that enhance the natural richness of the fish without overpowering it. The salmon is cooked to perfection—charred on the outside and buttery soft within. It pairs seamlessly with the wild mushroom pilau, where the mushrooms' earthiness complements the tikka's subtle smokiness. The melt-in-your-mouth beef short-rib coconut fry is an absolute must for meat lovers. Slow-cooked to perfection, the savory depth of the beef is uplifted by tangy pickled shallots and balanced by the podi uthappam—a thick, pancake-like South Indian flatbread dusted with a fragrant spice blend of roasted lentils and dried chilies. The combination creates a rich, satisfying dish with layers of flavor and texture. Trishna is more than a meal; it’s an experience that deserves a place on any food lover's itinerary in London.

Went to Trishna just after lockdown and had been meaning to come back. 6 of us came, and enjoyed a set menu for my birthday. Every dish was explained, and delivered on flavour. My go to, and favourite dish is the Hyderabadi Subz Kofta. But really, any dish on the menu hits the spot.

We had such a wonderful experience, we came here twice on our vacation! Both the service and the food is outstanding, and really stand out in a city which is known for having the “best Indian food”, Trishna goes a step above the rest. When compared to other Michelin star restaurants in the area, the kind and welcoming service definitely is super appreciated. I would recommend this place for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, as it is super flavorful and of the highest quality.

One of the best tasting menus I’ve had in London, with complex and interesting dishes throughout. The Venison and Scallop courses in particular were delicious, and whilst I didn’t order it, the wine pairing looked considered and worth it. With many seafood dishes, it provided a taste of Indian food that isn’t as common. Portions were generous, and I (and other tables I could overhear) were not left hungry by the end as some tasting menus can leave you. Would very happily return, no weak points throughout my visit.

One of my favorite Indian restaurants in London. Very classic. Their sister Gymkhana is more famous, but Trishna was first and still part of the successful group. Every time we’ve gone, we always forget to book a reservation then we’ve magically snagged the last table at Trishna and the service is always wonderful. I give the food a 4.5, but the good tables, warm staff and experience are great. I do wish they occasionally changed the menu a bit more and I don’t love the chicken dishes, but really enjoy all the appetizers, biryani and vegetables. Only took one photo this time, but my old review has several more.

Booked an early slot just for myself as I was desperate for some spice and this place did not disappoint! From the cocktail as I arrived through the poppadoms, starters (I had the prawns and the soft shell crab) to the lamb (I'd given up taking photos at this point). All delicious. Service was very attentive. Bustling place full of vibrancy and a passion for hospitality.

Vegan tasting menu was nice, but more like £20 nice rather than ~£200. You're better off going to your local. Drinks were experimental but not that nice. Service was great.

A lovely neighbourhood feeling restaurant, with a Michelin Star! Beautiful food, good but not amazing service and a very sedate and cosy atmosphere, perhaps not for a laughter and chatter filled dinner as the restaurant is as I say, quite sedate. I returned after a long time after a hiatus of many years, following two disastrous visits some time ago, but I believe in second chances and I was right to, the food is sublime, wine offering strong and service somewhat improved

Visited yesterday for lunch.Nice casual ambiance to the restaurant but smartly dressed staff. We had the summer set menu which was excellent value at £55 per person. It is nice to have a set lunch menu with a good range of choices,so many nowadays give a very limited choice of cheap to buy items. Not this restaurant, everything was high quality, beautifully presented and served by charming, knowledgeable staff. The wine list was varied and not too expensive, although you could easily spend a lot. It was a real pleasure to eat at Trisha,an experience we will repeat very soon

The food was great; no complaints there. My issue was that my partner and I did not take our time, order any extra courses outside of the drinks or tasting menu, or do anything particularly slowly; however after finishing the mains we were told that they needed the table back in twenty minutes. In the end, everything worked out fine, but once that has been said it runs the mood, and we were probably rushing a bit more than we otherwise would have. This left a sour taste, particularly when we had not taken our time. I heard the maitre d' say he had only been told we were having three courses (rather than the full menu), in which case if true then that's their staff who have messed up by not taking the full order. Also, the staff were quick enough to shoot over and top up water needlessly throughout the meal, but on reflection there were a few times when they could have been more on-it with taking orders and plate removals. So, if you want a special occasion then I can't recommend Trishna based on my experience.

The place deserves its 1 Michelin Star: very complex food served in a simple way, great cocktail and delicious desserts. Just be ready for a different Indian style, since their cuisine is from the south, so less sweet but spicey and full of flavours.

I'v been here twice a week. They cooked very delicious food but they made twice mistakes of my bill, which is I ordered no alcohol cocktail it should be 12 but they cost me 17 as contain alcohol price! We argued with the stuffs but they can't remember if any alcohol in it or not, that must be ridiculous. I can’t have any alcohol how can they forget what I ordered and what did they put in my cocktail??I will suggest the 5 course tasting menu, and remember check the drink before you have it.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Paradise Vegetarian Restaurant in London last night, and I can confidently say it was one of the most delightful dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the evening. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, striking a perfect balance between cozy and elegant. The lighting is soft and ambient, creating an intimate vibe without feeling too formal. The decor is modern with subtle earthy touches, reflecting their dedication to fresh, wholesome, plant-based cuisine.

Everything was fine until a rat - yes a rat - was spotted walking around the floor of the restaurant. I reported this to a waiter who said "don't worry, they live here"! If there was one rat in the restaurant, there are likely to be more in the kitchen, so I got up and left. I wrote an email to the admin@ address on the restaurants website and have not even had the courtesy of a response. I have therefore reported them to the Foods Standard Agency. Maybe I was unlucky and maybe I should have stood on my chair and let all the other diners know, but I felt that reporting it to a waiter would have been enough for some form of action. Sadly, it seems that commercial needs are greater than customer care and good hygiene. You have been warned.

Will be truly honest here, food is no where to be called Rajasthani, all mediocre completely blend dishes, no Rajasthani spices and taste in the dishes at all. Servers push to place mains order at the same time as starters. Its a complete shame in the name of true Rajasthani food in London!! Would prefer to get food from a chip shop instead of eating in The Rajasthan-III
