Turnpike Bawtry in Doncaster

Pub could do with a good scrubbing. Tables sticky from lack of higiene. Toilets floor disgusting and wet with urine. Shame

A barrel behind the bar was so rude when I asked to change my beer she still give me the one I didn’t want and then said well you watched me pour it and I didn’t no that was for me I thought she might of been helping someone else and I explained that I already ask to change the beer and she said yeah and then she expected me to pay for the beer I didn’t want ( I changed my mind on the beer before she poured it) and she had a rude attitude towards me will not be returning

The Turnpike Bawtry This used to be a great pub to drink in, how things have changed full of loud mouthed drunk middle aged men. Whistling at the young ladies with no respect to anyone not even themselves. Poor quality beer, sloppy bar staff Overall all place to avoid. Pubs like this ruin it for the good ones as people will go elsewhere. GIVE THIS PLACE A MISS

17 of us attempted to stop off here yesterday evening on route home. The group contained some Under 18s but we were told they were not allowed in. That is perfectly understandable and acceptable but it needs to be clearer as we walked straight past the door staff who said nothing, we then stood at the bar for at least 3-4 minutes before anything was said. In this time some of the group had been served and paid leaving us in limbo and having to split up to go elsewhere. Had the door staff been doing their job properly that situation could have been avoided, we would have known from the start and happily accepted the answer and moved on.

Very quiet on a midweek rainy night. Have been in before and enjoyed it. Will not put me off calling again

Trip out to see my best mate's sister n partner with his grandson who has cerebral palsy. Pub is wheelchair friendly n dog friendly. Very comfortable n extremely polite n friendly bar staff. And they had a right selection of draught beers. My mate n I had a couple of pints of draught mango cider - outstanding. All in all a most enjoyable afternoon

Visited here on Sunday for lunch and it was very quiet. The food was okay (I had the 'BBQ Mac Burger + Chips') and the staff were friendly enough, but the place just had no atmosphere. Decent pricing at £15.49 for the meal and a drink.

Lovely little pub in the heart of Bawtry. Love the new menus. Staff (Racheal and Antonia) made us feel welcomed. Will definitely be returning.

Came here, we had pie veg, Mac cheese, and the steak. Was probably the worst meals we have had, ask for steak well done and was still blood in it. The pie was cooked too long so was hard tasteless, the Mac cheese was cooked too long as all hard. It wasn't busy so no reason for poor food.

On a busy night in Bawtry due to a great turnout for Biker’s Night the bar staff Abbie and Curtis did a great job. The food is normal pub food but it was well cooked and served hot.

Nipped in Friday afternoon for a quick snack and drink. Lady behind the bar was very friendly and the food was lovely, tasty and hot. Reasonably priced too. Just to go to another pub in Bawtry but I think the Turnpike will be the new go to now.

Visited this pub whilst staying locally and it's a lovely little pub! Very friendly from the off and they pull a nice pint. Plenty of seating inside, to the front and the back. Has sports on the tv and do various events on a night.

We popped in unexpectedly and the staff were helpful, as we had been 2 hours in a traffic jam, due to accident on A 1 and then diverted. We just had bowl of fat chips and drinks, but chips hot and tasty. They bought drinks to table and even gave us directions on how to get back on our way.

Love this place. Great staff, great drinks offers and great food.

We came here for Mother's Day with my Husband and little boy and the welcome was amazing we was shown to our table by Emma which was set up so lovely and welcoming had activities for my little boy and ordered from the menu. The food was delicious. We would definitely go again.

Visited on Saturday 24th Feb around 5.30pm to 6.30 pm with members of my family . The staff were miserable and one girl in particular ( dark hair) , looked as though she hated everyone. It was not a nice experience. Do they realise tgat the customer pays their wages?. Turn thd lips the other way please and smile.

Made to feel really welcome by the staff. Food was delicious too! Will definitely be back.

So service started well greeted as me and my sister entered, got drinks an ordered food. Then from there it went down hill. Order 2 tikka masalas, the food came fast enough but was disappointed when it arrived. 8 pieces of chicken no bigger than a thumb nail that was like microwaved bullets, they served the dish with sour cream which was very weird. Once the chef had finished cooking for us, she sat back at her table with her colleague and proceeded to chat. No check back or anything. Left very disappointed at it all and at £36 for 2 dishes and 2 cokes I expected a lot more for my money and quality too.

Lovely food. SHOT KARAOKE on Friday nights always fun . Friendly staff x

Vast improvement on our last visit. Food was much better and choice was good. Meals came out in good time but no one cleared our table afterwards. We went back to the bar to order desert and still no one cleared our dinner plates away. It wasn't exactly busy so there really wasn't a reason for this. My main gripe was both the front and back doors were wide open so it was freezing in there. I don't want to sit and eat a meal wearing my coat.

The staff were really rude to us when we were there at the weekend. There were no lemonade no coke etc…. I was also disappointed to have been served cocktail’s in pint glasses rather than what they should have been In. Half our group of friends actually walked out because of how badly we were treated and we had no apologies at all!

My apologies, that shud ov been a 5 star...no idea why it came as 3 star...must of hit wrong button. 👍🍺

A hearty meal, I had the sausage and mash , I was hoping for more local made sausages but the mash was plentiful and loads of gravy, and great that they allow dogs inside 👍🙏

Drove past and pulled over as it looked nice, ended up staying 2 hours as it was so lovely in there! Service was great and they have a great selection on draught 👍 would absolutely recommend

I frequent Bawtry regular chose the Turnpike as if was Dog friendly go to many Dog friendly pubs in the area and the your man behind the bar was utter rude about having the Dogs, waited till we have paid for a bottle of wine and our food before complaining that the Dogs were being too noisy barking, very rude basically told us to leave when we still had a drink !!!!!

Had meal there over Christmas. Nice atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly. Very good choice of beers . The food was well presented. My lasagne was piping hot as it should be fresh from the over . My wife's bangers and mash was again well presented, but could have a bit warmer . All in a pleasant experience. Well done the management.

Just been in for a quiet drink before a meal out, DJ put music on so loud I could hear, so politely asked the to turn it back down and they turned it up. So rude. Left my drink on the bar and went elsewhere. Avoid.
