The Royal Standard is an excellent pub with very friendly staff and the food from Tzatziki makes it worth the visit on its own as well.

Roast lamb all the way. With some added gruyere!

Always have an excellent meal when we go. Often busy.

Some friends took us, it is a very nice place with a good atmosphere. Many beers, we also ordered for dinner and the truth is that it was delicious, generous portions and absolutely everything was very tasty. 100% recommended

Food and service was great also the guys at the bar were very kind. Just as piece of advice the pictures on the menu do not make it justice to the actual size of the portions. We actually thought what we ordered wasn’t going to be enough and when we received the food we were very pleased. Flavourful and tasty

Amazing find , the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend this welcoming pub, lovely, friendly staff. We all struggled to choose what to eat as so many tasty options. My only top tip is take a doggy bag because they don’t provide them and if your appetite is smaller you won’t want to leave the leftovers as far too yummy

Honestly such an amazing dining experience. We had an order for 10 adults and 6 children and they brought the food out quickly and to a really high standard. Loved the slow cooked pork box and the chicken souvlaki!! Not to mention the crazy Nutella Bougatsa!!! Thank you for a great experience and will definitely be coming again!!

El pedido literalmente tardó menos de 10 minutos en llegar. Muy apreciado. La comida era increíble, especialmente el pollo souvlaki. Creo que este es su artículo básico. Además no te dejes engañar, básicamente el lugar es un pub que sirve comida griega. No te apartes pensando que te equivocaste de lugar, porque no lo hiciste. Tu estómago te lo agradecerá más tarde. Consejo: si vas a conducir, da la vuelta a la esquina del pub y aparca allí en la calle. Es una zona residencial, y es posible que encuentre un lugar de estacionamiento afortunado allí.

Fantastic food by Tzatziki - Great tasting (Falafel Souvlaki & Chicken Skepasti), fair value and generous portions, be warned ! Relatively quiet Sunday, our food came quickly the team were very welcoming.

We had the chicken and roasted lamb souvlakis and the filo pastry custard dessert, everything was fantastic, we would definitely recommend the place and come back again.

It’s a cosy local pub environment with tasty Greek food. We ordered mixed (chicken & lamb) souvlaki. Service was good, food arrived within 10 minutes. Overall atmosphere was great, staff were friendly. The food was fresh and very well cooked. Would highly recommend.

Food was average the first time. The second time it was poor (see photo). Barely any pork in the gyros and no sauce. For £8 you get five halloumi fries. Love the pub but the food is so poor.

Popular and nicely restored casual pub with large range of local and less local beers on tap. Interesting Greek-inspired shortish menu served mainly as finger food: all the items we had were great and you easily make meal out of them.

Awesome food, served in a great pub. Literally everyone has having food with their drinks and couldn't fault anything. Hearty quantity with delicious flavours.

This place used to be good when it first opened but its gone very much downhill... They can't even be bothered to use fresh salad it was grey and manky as you can see in the photo and the meat was like mush way over cooked or heated from the previous days! Avoid at all costs!!!!

We are regulars and have noticed a drop in the quality in the last few trips …..however!!!! Tonight was a blast from the past and was so good and the best we have had it felt like falling in love all over again… Fantastic ….. Would highly recommend to anyone!!

Delicious food at reasonable prices. We ordered the lamb gyros, chicken skepasti and loukoumades. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and food was ready in 20 minutes! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

I ordered food from Tzatziki last night through Uber Eats. I ordered a mushroom skepasti and was terribly shocked to find some meat in my vegetarian dish (My husband confirmed it was meat ☹️) I'm extremely disappointed and angry at this and I would not recommend this place, specially to people with specific dietary requirements. 👎🏽

Had great food loved it just had a 30 min wait as they were bizzy and sat outside till there was a free table .It was a Birthday treat for me from my Son, he was shaking🤣

Forgot to take good pics - the food is super yummy Had the chicken souvlaki- it is a big portion Hummus and Tzatziki needed salt Spanakopita was very oily but yummy Halloumi sticks were epic Hubby had the Pork Souvlaki - very good So few things - Jan 4th 2024 (date stamped) Food is separate from drinks order Meal arrived with no cutlery with a comment to “go fetch your own” which for visitors to the UK was an interesting experience specially after being charged 15% service fee…….so not sure what we paid for 🤣 Would suggest you work that out unless your local customers are ok with that? P.S. Bar serves epic Belgium Beer

Quite a few options 'sold out' but enough choice remaining for us and really enjoyed what we had.

Really excellent food by Tzatziki in the Royal Standard pub. Wide selection of drinks available from the pub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food menus on tables and ordered via app. We enjoyed the box meals with additional cheese.

Updating my review from 1 star to 4 stars as the restaurant fairly addressed some of my points. The souvlaki has increased in price more than they've highlighted below (I have the email receipts still), but that aside the food is great once it arrives and probably the best Greek food in Cambridge. Edit: prices have now increased 12% since this review. Lamb souvlaki is 10gbp.

This place used to be a pub, now is called Tzatziki. You order and pay through your phone. The food was delicious, but we waited 20min to get it.. the service was slow, they forgot to give us cutlery, then they served just one of us, 5mins later the other one got served. Although they just bring you food, there is table service. I would suggest improving your service, otherwise food was okay(excluding the salad - some of the ingredients looked like they were staying in the plate for a few days) Overall, won’t visit the place again.

Stopped for lunch, chicken souvlaki each. Good portion size, very tasty, one of the better ones I’ve had.

Clearly stated NO SALAD on my order and it turned up full of salad and not much of anything else!! Extremely disappointed, a rare miss by a good company, half of it had to be thrown away!

Amazing food and great atmosphere, food is a bit on the pricey side.

Had guests over, suggested this place as previously we were regular customers. Never again, could not have the food delivered. I picked the food up, got home to my guests, and what a disaster, the sauce was not there in the gyros. The lamb was on the fatty side, the guests had not a positive word to say about it. Let, the chips in the gyros were chewy and lacklustre, the meat was under seasoned and totally flavourful, waste of money, embarrassing with guests and dinner ruined!

Had lunch at The Royal Standard, Mill Road, Cambridge. Once we had logged on to the pub’s wifi, ordering was simple. We had Falafel and Hummus Souvlaki and Lamb Kofta Souvlaki. The food was delicious and left us full. Really pleased we came across this gem.

Delicious food, very big portions! Even better than Greece :) Friendly and proffesional service (One of our friends had an allergy and the staff dealt with it really professionally!) Very polite and friendly owner, offered us "Lookoomades"-which in general I don't like but it was the first time that I ve really enjoyed them! You have to try dish called "Skepasti" which is awesome! Highly recommend it and will definitely visit again! Very happy to discover these kind of places in Cambridge 😉

My husband & I always drive into Cambridge to get chicken souvlakis, because they are great. Unfortunately, I am disappointed because there have been a couple of times where although I've specifically asked for very little sauce, it still has too much sauce. Today's order had so much sauce it was dripping. It ruined what would have been an otherwise delicious dinner.

Best Greek food I've had in the UK! In a great pub

The food here is okay. It’s more like a fast food joint: chips with mains, deep fried starters etc, pitta breads with most dishes. It’s certainly not refined, or even very good quality Greek food. You could easily call in at the local takeaway and get just as good food. The other issue I have is The Tip!! What is that for?? Nobody took our order: it was a QR code. Nobody asked if the food was okay. Literally was just brought to the table. So why pay a 10% minimum tip???? Tips are just a way of either increasing profit or subsidising pay.
