I use this place about once a month. If it were closer to my house, I would come often. They use high-quality meat every time and it’s delicious. I will continue to visit this place

I went and tried this restaurant, price is very hig compared to other Turkish paces. Also menu is is worse than other ones. I am attaching same menu with other cool places. See the other cool places' price and here and compare it. Same menu is in other place £38. In here £55. Even that places are in center of London. Dolston and Shoreditch. Here is Harringay 😅

The food here is overpriced compared to other restaurants offering the same menu. For instance, a mixed kebab for two costs £55 here, while a better restaurant in Dalston, which is closer to central London, charges only £36. Not only is it more affordable there, but the portions also include more meat. So my review is 👎👎👎

Last year I gave a great rating, but this year 12/10/24 I am very disappointed, it's my sons 30th birthday, upon arrival they said no table was available after he had booked, however they laid a table, some food we requested was not available, eventually we accepted and carried on the evening, but the last straw no turkish tea!! The question why? We have none. Time to pay the bill. No payment machine, cash only!! Hello 15 people wish to share the bill. Above all no turkish tea, all turkish restaurants ask if you would like tea before you leave. Sorry you have really let us down even though you offered us a discount for next time. Don't think so!! Good luck with your future business.

I visit here quite often, I usually go for grilled liver wrap and cop shish wrap they’re very tasty especially their grilled spicy pepper, it can be very spicy but i must say it goes well inside the wrap. Lamb ribs are also juicy and tasty.

GENUINELY THE MOST FLAVOURFUL FOOD IVE EVER HAD. THE BREAD IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE AND WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. You will be so unbelievably full when you leave and for an incredibly reasonable price. EAT HERE OR YOU WILL LIVE AN UNFULFILLED LIFE.

An amazing place that makes me feel like I'm in Turkey. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything was delicious, especially the liver, which I usually can't eat, but here I devoured it. As a Turk, I can say it's even better than most places I've eaten at in Turkey. Highly recommend! Beware they say rice on the menu, it is not rice, its Bulgar Wheat, I'm not sure why this is advertised completely wrong. For someone with a gluten intolerance this was a problem. Also the wine really is undrinkable. The meat and dips are very good though hence the two stars.

Turkish temple of embers and lamb. This is Ocakbasi done right. Good ingredients touched by fire and smoke, everything fresh and simple. The salads and bread smothered in grilled meat drippings alone are enough to merit taking the trip here. It would be a crime to visit without ordering the lamb ribs, packed with so much flavour that it feels like some sort of wizardry. If the grill weren't visible from my table i would have believed it was magic!

Nice food, albeit a bit pricey for what it was. The service was quite bad- our waiter was moody, wiped the table crumbs onto my lap and didn't tell us he only accepted cash until the end of the meal... Won't be returning sadly

it's recommended. The main store is in Dalston, but this store is closer, so I've been going here lately. Try ordering the Lamb ribs. Comes with salad and rice. The image of rum will completely change. Corkage will be charged, but you can bring your own wine.

The exact Ocakbaşı kebab place you can find in Adana, Antep and Urfa. Kebabs were very nice. Especially the best Adana Kebab I have eaten in London. The employees are friendly and professional. Good job. Bravo

The best kebab place in Harringay

Best Turkish mean I have ever had. All the food was perfectly cooked and very tasty.

Umut 2000 with the Ocakbasi (charcoal grill) glowing away at the front of the restaurant and the chefs busy rotating the kebabs provides good theatre. Mains come with a bowl of çoban salad, salad, onion salad, roasted onions in pomegranate plus humus and cacik! That's a good meal in itself when mopped up with warm flat bread soaked with kebab juice. Kebabs are made fresh to order and arrive tender and tasty. The staff are friendly and informal. With such an expansion of places to eat in Green Lanes, Umut retains its individuality and high standards. Those in the know rate this place as the best in Harringay for grilled kebabs and chops.

The lamb chops were meaty, flavourful, smoky, crispy all at once - so good you’ll nibble them right down to the bone. Try the quail too. Thank you for an amazing meal!

I will now share my great regret. Then I will continue my review of this restaurant. I'm at a restaurant in north London. I didn't go to Umut 2000 Ocakbaşı Haringay restaurant because I was a little lazy. I am extremely sorry. But from now on I will never be lazy. I have eaten at many restaurants that serve Turkish food, but now someone has to say this. Stop using that spicy salt that you use for grilling and that makes every grilled dish the same. This spice has nothing to do with Turkish cuisine. And also, the salt it leaves in your throat and burns your nasal passages also ruins the meat you eat. I ate all over Turkey, even in the villages. I don't know who suggested such a terrible spice to restaurants, but if you go to Turkey, you will see that the dishes you eat have nothing to do with the real ones. Umut 2000 Ocakbaşı does not do this. Even though Umut 2000 Ocakbaşı is not exactly the taste I was looking for, they have the best presentation and food in London. And also the prices are extremely reasonable. I congratulate the whole team. I will never eat kebab anywhere else again. I apologize to you too, Umut2000 Ocakbaşı, for my laziness. Visited Umut2000 with a few friends and got a variety of starters and mains. This place is a hidden gem. The lamb chops are probably the best I’ve had in London in terms of portion size, quality and flavour. The staff are also very welcoming and also received a few additional houmous plates on the house. Definitely be back here.

I looooove Umut! It is my go to Turkish restaurant, I get the same thing every time and I’m never disappointed! I get the grilled chicken and bulgur rice (would highly recommend) and the pricing is pretty reasonable,T he atmosphere is so comfortable and cozy, and the staff can not do more for you, the toilets are clean, il not eat at any other Turkish restaurant. The only downside is, I love my Turkish tea, and I hate to constantly have to call the waiter over for more tea, what would be ideal (for me anyway) would be to have a small tea pot at my table to fill up when I’m low on tea. That being said, I have never had a bad experience at Umut and I would suggest this place to anyone who asks me for a decent Turkish restaurant

Great chicken shish and salad. A little disappointed that it was delivered without any cacik or sauces. Delicious hallumi but pricey at £8 for 5 pieces of cheese and a little salad. The chicken shish was supposed to come with rice but came with bulgar instead, which was a bit of a let down. A shame as the quality of the food was very good.

The patlican Soslu was priced at £17…what turned up looked like a side dish. The Lamb Beyti ordered beside it was at £18 and worthy of that price. I was rather unhappy with the pricing of this vegetarian dish based on what was served.

We ordered a big platter for 2. It had a little bit of everything, the best was the humus and the lebnah soooo good that sauce they put on top of it has to be one of the most creatures things I have tried in a long time! You must try!

The most delicious kebab I have ever eaten in London. Especially the liver and ribs were truly legendary! We tried all the appetizers, all of them were really delicious. Staff and Ercan Bey are also very hospitable and friendly. Delicious food and nice conversation of these nice people made us very happy. I strongly recommend it to everyone. Pleasant place at the far end of the Green Lanes strip. Food is plentiful and good (some is great!). Service is friendly. It’s quieter than most of the other places in Green Lanes but that can make it nicer too. You’re certainly never rushed away!

Michellin of Haringey. Mouth watering ribs, delicious starters and the thin crispy bread pressed against the cooking meats flavouring it with the marinade... Forget the other dazzling decor and over priced menus. Umut 2000 is the gem.

İdare eder. 2 kişilik menu soyledik icindeki pilavi azdi. Kanatlar desen kucucuk. İcindeki pirzola gibi etler neyse artik kucuktu. Bence biraz daha dikkat etmeliler. Ekmek bitti ekmek istiyorsun sacma garsonun takip etmesi gerekiyor. Umarim daha iyi olur. Lezzet kalitesi guzel ama malzemeden kismamak lazim. Mesela raki soyluyorsun su ister misin diye soruyorlar bu da buranin modasi sanirim. Getirdigi su da 500 ml :) raki icen adama su sorulmaz ki ;) neyse umarim daha iyi bir mekan olur.

Top kebab from the chaps. No sauces, just letting the meat speak for itself. Really nice chatty service, excellent char, a diversion well worth the effort. Needs to be busier. A damn fine late night meal

The food is fantastic - tasting so fresh, Dragan at and delicious! The only thing that could make it better is the price. I would love to order this more often but given the price it’s not possible.

If there was an option to give no stars I would. Absolutely shambolic. Ordered 2 wraps and a mix chicken container that came to 40 pounds when the driver arrived (no way near what i paid previous times) and the food was wrong it came really cold and flavourless. Literally the salad in the wrap had more flavour than the meat itself. Definitely avoid theres so many places in Haringey, you don’t need this dry food trust me guys. Go somewhere else!

My friend living in London recommended this place, their lamb ribs are to die for. The bread is thin and chewy, the roasted onion soaking in pomegranate juice was inventive. We each ate 1.5 person's portions in one meal. You have space to enjoy the conversation at the table. I loved the food so much.

Mixed hot starter was cold and cost £15, mixed cold starter was all stuffed in to one container and certainly not worth £12. What a shame to ruin the food by packaging it this way.

It took over 20 mins from the time I got the text to when it was actually delivered (15 mins after the delivery time) which meant the food was cold. The chicken was fine but cold lamb just makes it chewy and not pleasant to eat

Ordered the mixed kebab deal which had a bit of everything on a bed of bulgur wheat. The meat was all very well cooked, the shish had a good texture and good flavour to boot. The bread was delicious although there was a lot of it. Luckily I had enough for breakfast. Good all round experience. Good value. Great community and great food.
