Their parathas were amazing, generously portioned and freshly hand made (unlike some places where they serve you frozen reheated ones). We tried the paneer, cheese & onion, and the chicken one. All three super tasty. The Badam milk and karak chai also lived up to the spec. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu! Slight feedback on the place, as we went on the coldest day in the UK in 15 years (according to the BBC) is that the inside seating space is too small and too cold to comfortably enjoy the delicious and hot food. Still well worth the visit!

This is my go to place for quick snacks as well as full meal. The taste is authentic Indian and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend the rose faluda, just lovely.

A couple of days ago, I went here with my girlfriend. The food was delicious, but a few hours after dinner, I started vomiting and had severe stomach pain. Shortly after, my girlfriend experienced the same. When I spoke to a friend about this, they mentioned having a similar experience. I hope the restaurant can look into this issue.

Was surprised to learn you could order food here. Tried the chicken shawarma, chilly chicken and masala chips, absolutely banging!

Really really lovely service,the staff make it worthwhile and the food is fantastic, really happy they are adding some flavour to the Cambridge food scene. My kids love coming here and it’s always lovely to sit outside when the weather is mild!

The masala chai was great but the service is bit slow. Not much space inside to accomodate large group.another issue is parking.

We had excellent parathay, with daal and omelette, saffron tea and methi paratha in front of gas heater in cold wintery Cambridge day !!!

It was very cold outside to dine and even after requesting for the heater, they didn't even on it. It took them 1 hour to give us two orders. All the food were cold as well.

Food, when it arrived, was decent enough, but this is clearly an establishment that exists to serve the delivery market. After being told we were looking at a 10-15 wait for food, it became clear that delivery orders were being prioritised. A wait in excess of half an hour for a small order (two menu items) is unacceptable. It took a second request (after converting our dine in order to take away) for the staff to stop packing delivery orders, and pack ours, which appeared to have been ready for at least a couple of minutes.

Urban Chai is the best cafe in Cambridge. It's open until 11pm and offers delivery. Above all, the staff are kind and helpful, greeting you in foreign languages ​​and turning on the heater for you. It's so charming that I went there three times in two weeks. My recommended menu item is bubble tea. It's different from tapioca, with a gummy texture and sweet sauce that pops out. The chai tea is full of flowers, so it's recommended for those who love chai. I want to go to Urban Chai again. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience such a wonderful place during my short-term study abroad.

Jaspreet served us. Was greeted us with a lovely smile . She was very helpfull . Enviorment was awesome . I cannot find this sort of indian street food in cambridge anywhere. Amazing authentic taste. Staff is very well trained and humble.

It's just excellent place. Variety of original Indian street foods, my favourite are Parathas, delicious, fresh, quality ingredients, aromatic spices... And of course Chai, not to sweet not to spicy, just perfect! Its a family business and there so kind and friendly... Eating here is a heart warming experience. Love it!

Went yesterday late and food was delicious. Samosa Chaat gave sensory explosions with each bite and the paneer wrap was tasty too! All washed down with a strongly Cardamom infused Chai. Mister behind the till was kind, attentive and full of ideas. Team in the back doing great to produce fresh produce all day. Thanks guys! 🤠

food was good, the overall experience left much to be desired .The staff member who took our order was quite arrogant, which detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable dining experience. It's a shame because the food itself was tasty, but the service issues really impacted my visit.Additionally, the wait time was extremely long, which was frustrating. Despite the quality of the food, the poor service and long wait times mean I don’t prefer going again. I hope they can make improvements, but for now, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The methi parathas were horrible I had to put it in the dustbin straight away will never buy anything from there I would like my money back I am going to ring and complain

i ordered a loaded fries and bubble tea it took 18 mins to come out the kitchen when the store is already empty. The waiter literally said it will be ready in 5-6 mins

Best place for chai and desi food

For me, the Karak chai is the best in Cambridge, the Parathas are made fresh to order and you can taste the difference.

Friendly staff and quick service. Aloo paratha was a hit as well as the karak chai. Would also recommend the Vada pav with chips.

Have been here quite a few times and has been a good experience every time. The staff is wonderful, happy to serve and converse with customers. I like their kadak chai, gur wali chai and masala fries. Had a strawberry milkshake once which was good too. The meat served is halal so that helps. They also keep Parle-G biscuit packets that you can buy. Reminds me of India.

This is very lovely place for having food specially parathas and karak chai even I tried chicken curry with rice that’s coming in the new menu… it’s good in taste as home cooked food. I will highly recommend this place and will come back definitely as the staff service is very nice and friendly nature……!

I am extremely disappointed with the service and don't plan on returning. I've been dining here for nearly two years and have always loved the food. However, lately, there have been significant issues with the staff. The person cooking also handles the till without changing gloves. I observed the cook, who also managed payments, wipe sweat off her face with the same gloves she wore the entire time.

Went for a quick chai and some cold drinks. Chai was served instantly, but a bubble tea and cold coffee shouldn’t be taking 20mins. If I knew that beforehand I would have gone elsewhere. If I’m in the area again, I would definitely give them another chance no doubt.

It is strange writing a review for this place - wait is terrible, food is great. I ordered food 30 minutes before coming and still had to wait another 1 hour at the shop! This has happened many times before. The food is excellent though. Nonetheless, you really feel like your time is wasted by them

Growing up with Panjabi food, I didn't appreciate it enough until I left home. The chole poori at this place were close to my grandma's, almost perfect. Masala chips also tasty

Unfortunately my first visit here was disappointing. I ordered 2 Milkshakes and I must say they were both awful. The worst we have ever had.
