I understand that this is a high end Indian restaurant which means prices are expected to be high. But the dishes we tried were very average and to be honest tasted nothing like “Indian”. I had ordered Vegetarian Silver Crescent in Mains which had all baingan, paneer guizar, chettinad roast potatoes, hyderabadi yellow dal, rice. Everything I tasted was somewhat sweet and did not do justice to the dish names. I would recommend it only for experience and not the authentic Indian food.

Had a lovely dinner here! The food was divine. We annoyed the crab cake and soy samosas to start. Then, the chicken makhani and lamb biryani. Everything we ate and drank was absolutely fantastic. The service was great until we received our food and our server never returned to our table. We were happy to be left to enjoy our meal but, when we were interested in ordering another drink or paying the bill, the server was nowhere to be found. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. However, I would expect more from the service of a Michelin restaurant.

Simply cannot fault this place. We had a brilliant experience here on Christmas day. The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating and attentive. What a beautiful restaurant. Very spacious with areas for large group as well as intimate dinner dates. Went on a premade reservation for a table for 4. We arrived early but seated right away. Service was excellent. Wait staff was attentive and prompt. We started off with couple of cocktails. We got the lychee & rose, and the spiced cucumber & mint margarita. The lychee & rose was very good; Very refreshing. The margarita was interesting, For starter we got the bori soya mince samosa which was cooked to perfection and was flavorful. It came with green and tamarind sauce which were excellent. We also got the tandoori lamb barrah kabob, and my god! It was so good- very tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned and very flavorful! Highly recommend this item. For main we got chicken dilkush, very slow cooked Kashmiri lamb, and the Hyderabad lamb biryani. All three entries were cooked to perfection, meat was tender and juicy, the sauces were very flavorful, and perfectly balanced seasoning of salt, acid, sweet, and spice. The lamb biryani, and Kashmiri lamb were both highly recommend. Overall an exceptional dining experience and we would definitely be returning. A Michelin star well deserved.

I was brought by my family to Veeraswamy as a nine year old child in 1972 . I was so overexcited at my first ever visit to London that by the time we arrived at this amazing restaurant, I had to lie down and sleep on a chaise longue with all the coats and sadly I missed out on dinner! This has been a lifelong regret of mine, so when I recounted this tale to my new husband after seeing Veeraswamy featured on The Antique Roadshow, we decided to come for lunch . The whole experience was a delight and without exaggeration I can vouch that it is the best restaurant meal I have ever tasted. After much deliberation over the sumptuous choice of delights on offer, we opted for the tasting menu and every morsel was a sight to behold and a taste sensation. The service from start to finish was impeccable and I can’t wait until we come again . It was an experience we’ll savor and for my part , definitely worth 53 years of anticipation -Thank you for a wonderful day. 🙏

My friend and I visited Veeraswamy today for lunch, traveling all the way from the US for our holiday. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We found a hair in the naan bread and a piece of coriander stuck to the spoon before our food even arrived. Every time we visit London we make sure to swing by Veeraswamy. It’s by far the best Indian food in the city. We tried many of the dishes on the menu but the butter chicken and the duck vindaloo rank at the top of our favorite list. This time we came during the Christmas craziness. And while you could hardly walk along Regent street as it was so busy, Veeraswamy was a haven of tranquility and deluxe food. When in London, please make sure to try this place.

Considering the reputation and cost for Veeraswamy, my 2nd visit was a little disappointing; the food was good but simply the overpriced this time for the quality we received, considering spend per head, wasn’t the spectacular taste of a Michelin star restaurant. This is the oldest Indian restaurant in London, where you can enjoy food over 2 floors of seating over regents street. Getting five stars for a Indian restaurant in London is now a tough business, and I find the menu limited for vegetarians, but what arrived was good The salted lassi is great, not too heavy, not too light. The food was absolutely delicious. Easily the best Indian food I’ve ever had, and one of the best meals in general I’ve had. First time visiting the establishment, Food lack of flavour? Definitely room for improvement? Compare traditional authentic curry restaurants. We do know that they are trying to cook dishes from all over India 🇮🇳 but there’s much better curry houses in and around London when you do comparison service, quality, flavours, taste, portion size, the price tags? My own opinion maybe the restaurant try to be different my observation and experience. Poppadom tray and the garnishes came with I wasn’t impressed by and there wasn’t any wow about it, it would be fine sometimes just to have normal traditional poppadoms, rather then make things too complicated. Starter was scallop it was too small for £20 price tag? and it was warm rather than hot heat wise and it was lack of flavour not in Spice away just didn’t have a lot seasoning. Lamb chop as a main course that was tender and nice but too much mustard flavour overpowered and lack of sauces around should it be 4 lamb chop not 3! for the price tag? £38, definitely Room for improvement. Bread basket can taste the chilli and garlic was fine. I think it was too doughy and thick should be nice and crispy and tin layer room for improvement! Tarka dal was good yellow chickpeas. Cauliflower side dish was good as well. Overall experience was okay and nice touch in the end little birthday chocolate mousse cake. Question do I want to visit and spent £244 again with the drinks cocktail glass of wine and sparkling water and ginger beer and the service charge! as well, probably not! there’s much better restaurants in London areas like Nepalese Pakistani Bangladeshi and north and South Indian curry houses just as good as near me that will cost for two people similar menu £94 including service charge. At the end when the bill came they wasn’t any hot towels and small chocolates to wash off your pallets? I have to ask for the hot towels otherwise I wouldn’t get one? room for improvement there definitely 👍

More of a 4.3 or 4.4 experience overall. The ambiance, location and service were all fantastic and we had a nice window seat overlooking the hustle and bustle of regent street. The food started out really strong with some great appetizers like the lamb kebab and peneer but the mains lacked a bit of a kick and felt a bit underwhelming from a flavour perspective. It just lacked the richness in flavor and spices that you would expect from a top quality Indian restaurant. The biryani in particular felt a bit bland and the naan was a bit too doughy. Overall a solid experience but maybe our expectations were higher due to the price point and 2023 Michelin star. The dessert was a banana kulfi which was excellent though!

I really wanted to love this place, but had a fairly disappointing experience. My mum and dad visited Veeraswamy in the 1970s and dad said it was, hands down, the best Indian meal he'd ever had! So, for a special birthday treat, I saved up and took him there for dinner. I had such high hopes, but sadly, it just wasn't what I was expecting. The staff were attentive and the restaurant nice enough, but with the Micheline starred rating and the very expensive price tag, I has assumed the food would be exceptional. It was fine, but we both agreed we'd had better curries for a 3rd of the price. At over £80 per head, it just wasn't worth the money.

From the start, and each time they came to the table to check how the food was, they only spoke to him and didn’t acknowledge me. My husband almost didn’t believe me, so we switched seats to see if it was because he was facing towards where staff walked from…but no, waiters continued to only ask him if the food was ok. I even made the reservation under my name, and always politely smiled and made eye contact to invite any form of communication, so I was quite confused at the very clear sexism in 2024. It was funny at first, then just insulting to us both. Please do better next time and acknowledge your female customers? We’ve been wanting to go here for a long time and were expecting real quality, so the bar was set high. It was a birthday celebration and we arrived and were seated swiftly, place had nice ambience and staff. We had a cocktail on arrival which was good, £18 each. We ordered the tasting menu and a dahl. The menu included a rice and naan to share. No poppadoms offered. Starter of Green prawn was excellent as was the chicken starter. The 4 curries with the main, the flavours were good, particularly the lobster curry, the others were good, if a little underwhelming. I preferred the dahl and left some chicken and lamb. The Dahl was amazing.. one of the best we’ve had. Pre dessert they brought out a birthday sorbet which was lovely. Nice experience but not really the Michelin star food and experience we had envisioned. That said, give it a try. The food is very good but there are many good places around cheaper, with just as good service and experience. We had a bottle of wine and table water - the bill £320 with service charge. We visited this in Aug-24. It was for a birthday meal. The service was great and the restaurant looked better when the sun was setting and they turned the lighting on, as it had more of a romantic feel. The service was great and cannot complain. The waiter was very helpful and gave advice and also was on hand to deal with everything. We ordered multiple dishes, wanting to try a variety and the waiter did inform us how much we needed but as we mentioned we wanted to try a variety of dishes he understood. Any leftover food we took home and they packed it for us. Overall the food was lovely, however their lamb Chops wasn't as we expected vs other same calibre restaurants. It came with a sauce which we didn't expect. They had a nice biryani and the Momos had a twist but also a slight chilli kick (not too much though). Total cost 2 people - £268.88 Great experience, great food, great evening and great restaurant. I would recommend and come back here. All around incredible experience. Right off of Piccadilly circus, so nice walk to get to the restaurant. Everything we had was delicious. The staff were very attentive and quick. Some of the best Indian food you'll find!

We had a celebratory dinner at Veeraswamy for my parent’s anniversary. This is a great flagship restaurant (not going to lie, I felt astonished by the interior more than the food) under the India Collection. The oldest Indian restaurant in London and possibly in the entire UK. But don’t get me wrong, the food is delicious indeed but not as quite on par with the price levels. Starters are a bit pricey for an Indian restaurant compared to its sister’s restaurant (Masala Zone) and some of its relatively cheaper competitors. Also where I live I can easily get access to lots of Indian food options within a few mins away. Hence it wasn’t that authentic as I felt, just a cool clever branded restaurant. Go for the experience regardless. Mains were limited to basically duck, chicken and just one-two fish and lamb dishes. The food options felt basic, dessert menu was quite interesting because it sounded very authentic and locally Indian than the mains and starters. However, the menu selection does offer vegetarian and Halal options. The options are great in size for the table to share. The place has a ton of history. The decoration highlights this and adds to the atmosphere of the place. The staff were polite and welcoming. They knew the menu very well and were able to help with questions and selection. It is pricey for a reason (it’s a Michelin starred and we spend £278) so do bear this in mind before stepping in this ostentatious place. Again, the price may not reflect on the quality of the food standards, but it’s a worth an adventure to encounter. You’ll be looked after well, the waiters are very friendly and approachable. Not the usual crowd you’ll notice in other basic Indian restaurant elsewhere in London.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. The food was divine, especially the Vegetarian Silver Crescent main dish platter. The paneer was stuffed with malai kofta and was delicious. We enjoyed the samosa starter as well, and everything was michelin star standard. Service was very courteous. We had our water glasses filled up before we could ask for more and the waiters were very polite. The ambience was very authentic and grand, with Indian decor throughout the restaurant. We will recommend to our friends because it’s a special South Indian michelin restaurant.

We had a lovely celebratory lunch here. We found the biriyani lacking in flavour but the manager very quickly addressed this. The naan was soft and well made. I wasn’t blown away by our starters nor mains but we were looked after well. It was a nice touch to take note of our special occasion with a delicious chocolate congratulatory cake

We saw the entrance to Veeraswamy’s and just decided to test our luck since we didn’t have a reservation. Luckily someone cancelled their reservation and we were able to get a table, Everything from the service to the food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the Lamb sheesh Kebab twice! One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to.

A beautiful dinner with flavors that pop. Service excellent . Our server and his Assisant with a beautiful smile was amazing! This historic restaurant in 1926...is well worth the experience!! Found on the mezzanine level, around the corner from Regent Street. The banner is outside on Regent Street. There is a half floor above the entry level, which is a little quieter...but noise levels were not that bad. Well worth the trip. We would love to return, soon.

I cannot praise this restaurant enough, just thinking of the food we enjoyed last week makes my mouth water - its was exceptional. We had the pleasure of being in the private dining area as there were 17 of us, and it was beautiful. The staff were amazing, and so attentive. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - it really is a jewel in the crown of London. Thank you and all of your team for the superb service and incredible food. Our clients had a wonderful evening!

We had the seafood tasting menu at Quilon, and it was absolutely wonderful! The flavors were exquisite, and each dish was beautifully presented. The service was attentive and elevated the overall experience. The only slight letdown was the dessert, which didn’t quite match the exceptional standard of the rest of the menu. Nevertheless, a memorable dining experience, and we’ll definitely be back to explore more of their offerings. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!

I don't want to give bad reviews to this restaurant but i went yesterday 13/11/2025 I ordered 4 chicken tikka roll and 1 shami kebaab roll but they gave me 3 chicken tikka roll and 2 shami kebaab roll and moreover in chicken tikka roll packet they specified it (they wrote) that there is chicken tikka roll inside but I received from that packet 1 chicken roll and 1 shami kebaab roll that was really unexpected..they should deliver the order carefully
