Unique atmosphere. Tea and wine were great. We went also for the biggest option of sushi and it was nice, but really small, also not that tasty as it can be. But it was served with style 😎

Had a wonderful 3 courses yesterday lunchtime 22nd Jan - food and drinks were amazing and served by the wonderful Andrea she really is an asset so friendly knowledgable and kind to us - our Turkish friend who we bought with us (and owns a restaurant in Turkey) was also very impressed with the service well done and thank you we will be back for sure 👌

Service was great. Food was overpriced, undersized and lacked any seasoning whatsoever. £28 lobster mac and cheese was the size of a side dish and had no salt at all. The food also came in less than 10 minutes on a Saturday at 8 pm so it's clearly not made fresh to order. The food was nearly inedible. I would not recommend it. Spent over £100 and it was a very disappointing birthday meal. We ended up going next door to the Alchemist bar and ordering snack food there. Much better quality and far cheaper! Avoid.

Although Victor‘s a lovely venue for a celebration we were not overly impressed this time. We had a pod for that bottomless brunch experience. Due to how cold it was the heater provided wasn’t enough, there were blankets but it was how quickly the food became cold that was the problem. The service was very good. But a small heater on the floor in a pod isn’t enough please consider something more suitable.

Beautiful brunch, snow globes were nice and warm. Kept drinks coming. Archie was a star, deserves a raise i reacon.

Great place, lovely food and nice servers, sometimes a little loud as there's a lot of people there but it's still enjoyable and me and my partner love it.

Love this place usually, however, tonight the food was not as expected. As I write this my brother is currently throwing up due to undercooked squid. As an avid seafood eater, he asked me to try and I spat it out almost immediately, due to the watery sour taste. Both my wife and I’s salmon also showed traits of it being undercooked however, it was inconsistent throughout. The birthday boy, down with birthday food poisoning, courtesy of victors. Please contact me or my wife Melissa on how you can compensate here. Aside from the above, always good atmosphere, service could’ve been better, water filled up once, different waitresses throughout.

Dined here for lunch with friends, really lovely venue with beautiful decoration which sets it apart from the other venues in the area. Our waiter was quite attentive, checking everything was ok and the food was delicious. I had salmon teriyaki which was stunning, the sauce and the fillet were fantastic, the side garnish could’ve been a little bigger for the price (£22) but all in all very tasty. My only slight remark would be to improve the system whereby people with bookings are asked to wait, there is no space at the bar to wait which isn’t a great welcoming experience, although as we needed to visit the toilet it wasn’t too much of an issue but it could’ve been a little uncomfortable.

Our recent visit was lovely! We were seated in the perfect spot, and were served very delicious food, which we enjoyed thoroughly! Our server was Abhay, and he was brilliant! Very attentive and polite! Definitely recommend the popcorn chicken to start with!

Nice place to eat but menu is very limited for those that have dairy intolerance, whilst it’s easy to see what meal contains what ingredients using the code the restaurant chain really needs to address people’s dietary requirements… 1 sauce out of 4 to go with steak and 1 dessert plus a sorbet or ice cream for the dessert menu, menu needs a rethink

Recently had a lovely Afternoon Tea here with friends for a significant birthday. We were booked into one of the igloo’s but unfortunately the day we went was stormy and they had had issues with the electrics and so we couldn’t use it. Staff were great though they had reserved us a table inside and furthermore gave us a round of drinks on the house for the inconvenience. Food was also really delicious and beautifully presented. The only downside, it was very busy in the restaurant so the noise level was high and this was something we wouldn’t have had if we were out in the igloo.

My vegan burger came with some lettuce in a cheap bun, and a substantial portion of chips. I was disappointed there was not some other salad or vegetable on the plate. £18 seems a lot to pay for this disappointment. I ordered a raspberry baked alaska as dessert because we were still hungry. What a disappointment! A digestive biscuit with some ice cream on top, and some uncooked sugary soft meringue piled around it with some charring to make it look like an alaska, although it hadn't seen the inside of an oven. As for the raspberries? There was a dusting of red powder on top, but no actual physical raspberries. The finishing touch though was the cress garnish! Cress!! What does that have to do with baked alaska? This was a very disappointing meal and not worth the money.

Had a lovely time here for bottomless brunch as a Christmas celebration. Our server Jess was amazing, always making sure our drinks were topped up and that we had a great time. We loved being in the igloo, the heater made it nice and warm and it was great that there was a speaker there for us to play music. The food was delicious, would definitely come back here and recommend it to anyone.

Wow wow wow! What a sensational time at Victor’s today! We were able to upgrade to an igloo for our festive afternoon teas. Lovely food and ambience, but WHAT an incredible service experience. It's nice but be sure to order a lot and spend a lot for a decent size meal. The champagne cod is literally a piece of cod, not garnish or anything accompanying it. Also almost no gluten free options.

A pretty restaurant with friendly service , quite busy presumably the location and decor . unfortunately the food is infinitely disappointing and underwhelming in every sense . Small portions , not cooked with love , lacking flavour and finesse and rather more pose than pizazz , also very overpriced for the quality. A totally disinterested response from the head of staff signalled a complete disregard and disrespect for the clientele which I found very disappointing. I usually only post complimentary reviews on businesses but this time felt compelled to write as we had been really looking forward to our evening . Very amateur treatment from victors . We won't be returning .

Very beautiful restaurant inside and out. Polite and accommodating staff. I would recommend calling to book afternoon tea because I thought I booked it a day in advance through the website but it was not added to my table reservation. I was grateful that they were still able to accommodate me and serve the afternoon tea selection. I was alone so that may have helped. I am from a country where you simply pay at the counter and leave and I found them to be very slow to give the bill after requesting it and then return to take the payment. I could also hear the surrounding tables complain amongst themselves about the wait. The afternoon tea selection was fine, nothing special. The dishes the tables around me were served looked fab and I am keen to return to try the menu and a few cocktails.

Good food, good service, although food is a tad more pricey than similar restaurants elsewhere in Oxford

Had a christmas do here. Not sure if the food was done specifically for that, but it was definitely lackluster.

Sadly I had booked for 4 of us to have our Christmas meal off the Festive Menu and when we got there were told it was only for groups of 8 or more . I didn’t see this on the menu that was online so we were very disappointed and if choosing seperately for the same food would mean paying lot extra for sides to make up the same meals which seemed unfair . The service was poor and that added to the disappointment. Not a very enjoyable experience which was a shame as I had booked knowing the other 3 friends hadn’t been there before and I thought they would love it , but it didn’t live up to my previous visits sadly !

Came for a lovely meal this evening. The food and service was exceptional. Our waitress Carmen was lovely and couldn’t do enough. We will return again very soon!

I went for lunch with friends here yesterday. After paying for the meal I had £100 taken from my card, despite attending the booking! So far no one has been in touch to refund me.

My husband booked this for my birthday meal hoping for a nice romantic restaurant for our date night. Far from romantic when people are smashing the shots and getting rowdy. The music was so intense like we were in a club, not the type of music to enjoy an expensive 3 course romantic meal. The service was god awful, so we stayed for drinks and took ourselves off to a much nicer place! Not what we expected after seeing pictures of the restaurant.

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the food was lovely but service really let it down We visited mid week it was not busy and there was plenty off staff yet they where so disinterested Don't be in the service industry if you do want to give good service. I'm also extremely annoyed service charge was automatically applied to our bill and I wasn't given the option not to pay it. I have no paying service charge when service is good Overall on the fence on whether we will revisit

The service was very rude. Had an attitude and didn’t wanna work with you. Wouldn’t reccomand this place especially for big groups of people.

Lovely spot and decor. The Victors burger @£18.50 however was completely under whelming ! It made other chain burgers look like fine dining.A bland burger in a bun with a thousand island style dressing / no salad or relishes. Accompanied by a pot of anaemic skinny fries.

Overpriced food. The live music was so loud you couldn’t hear anyone talk. The atmosphere was awful. The service was awful, one waitress snapped at a member of our party at the table. I wouldn’t speak to anyone like that, let alone a paying customer. It was a graduation meal for a 22 year old who was initially refused a drink at the table with her meal whilst seated with family despite that being allowed in the UK without a valid ID. Then it required discussion with about 4 different members of staff to rectify this even though at the door we were told her lack of ID wouldn’t be an issue. Would never recommend, staff are rude and we were made to feel very unwelcome. Would advise anyone looking for a meal at the top of Westgate looks elsewhere

Would not recommend if you want a nice peaceful meal! They mistakenly gave our table away to someone else so we had to wait at the bar until they had sorted it out to which they forgot about and I had to ask again of when our table would be ready. They have a live DJ playing from 8pm but the music was so loud you can't hear the person next to you, it's more like a club. The food was mediocre at best, the burger was tiny with no salad, the chips were undercooked and pretty sure they were McCain chips. We refused to order dessert as we didn't want to be in there longer than we had to. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant.

I left today feeling so full of happiness and gratitude towards Victors and especially our server, Jess. I was celebrating my 2 years sobriety and to say Jess went above and beyond to make it special is an understatement. Firstly, her true empathy and interest was so heart warming, and then came the little touches like 2 sparklers for 2 years and a chocolate written plate personalised to my milestone. Some people go further in service. The interest she showed, kindness and honesty was something I've never experienced in hospitality before, and I've worked in the industry for 15 years. She is an absolute asset to the restaurant and I won't ever forget today. Going out hasn't felt special in a long time, it's always been full of anxiety, today marked a big change to that, I am now excited to get dressed up again and enjoy days with friends, sober, like I did today. Thank you for that, Jess and Victors. It means more than you know. A huge shout-out to the beautiful singer and the amazing food. The roast chicken was the tastiest I've had and the atmosphere was buzzing. I can't wait to celebrate every year I tick off at Victors from now on. So much love from me and my friends.

I ordered the chicken burger and it was just chicken and a bun, nothing else inside and was tiny, with some undercooked chips on side. £127 for starters, mains and cocktails i was very disappointed. Cocktails were nice so would be good for drinks only, can find better food in the area.

Me and my friend always wanted to have a dinner in victors so we decided to book a table there. Firstly it took almost 30 minutes to book a table where the person who was on call wasn’t able to get the name properly. After the call she said that the table was booked for 2 people by 9pm. By 7:30pm he called and asked to adjust for one person but then the manager started speaking rude which was not expected from such a great restaurant. Also the manager said there’s no booking by that name.Without no reason speaking rudely when asked to adjust for one person. The staff is too rude and in the end the manager said we are blacklisting you. I hope they first work on how to talk with the guests. What a worst experience just on a call and thankfully we didn’t go there to have our dinner with such disrespectful staff

Absolutely loved my visit yesterday, me, my girlfriend and a group of friends came here for dinner for my 30th birthday. I wish I got the name of my waitress because her service was impeccable! My fillet steak was absolutely divine! Great drink selection throughout and catered to one of my groups nut allergy. Atmosphere was really nice too. A small thing I did enjoy was the constant water top ups of the carafes. The entire experience was just delightful and then some. Would 100% recommend victors for a meal or a celebration meal! Thank you a great night

Such a beautifully decorated restaurant. The wisteria is stunning! We popped by for a quick lunch and enjoyed the Caesar salad and Turkey club sandwich. Both very tasty and nicely presented.

Having recommended this restaurant to some friends we dined with shortly before going to a Pretenders concert at the New Theatre, the experience was not anywhere near the same wow factor as last time I visited this restaurant. The service was very slow and several times we had to get up and ask for attention, including drinks which took ages to arrive. The food quality wasn't great either, and I had to wait 25 mins after my seabass main course had arrived, before receiving a garlic and potato side dish, which we had asked 2 staff separately for updates that weren't received. In summary, the extortionate price of £219 for 4 people didn't match up to the service and quality expected! Very disappointed...

Been here several times over the years. Definitely won’t be going back on a Friday or Saturday night (after 8pm), music is so loud that you have to shout to hear what anyone is saying. Bit of a joke when you’re spending £100 per person on what’s meant to be a nice meal. Staff cannot turn volume down. The food is good overall, shame that they have removed sashimi from the menu though. Cocktails are ok but not great. Negroni was mediocre, Long Island IT tasted like they’d only put about 5ml of each alcohol in the drink, if that. I will go back I imagine, but I’m not in any rush to. UPDATE: We arrived at 8:15pm and we left two hours later at 10:15. At no point was there any singer nor any DJ. Just loud music, but definitely no singer nor DJ between 8:15-10:15pm on Saturday night.

It was my friends birthday and we made a trip from London to Oxford to celebrate. We asked to move seat as we were too close to the singer-it was no problem. We thank the gentleman with the long nails. So helpful. I like to get the name of my server, ours was Poppy. We had the roast lovely meal -no problem I made a bday booking and no bday firework came to our table, so I discretly reminded Poppy - no problem The bday plate came along without a cake and it looked lonely. So we requested a cake (there was no issue paying for what we wanted). However, another waitress informed Poppy infront of my party (apparently Poppy was new) that there was a fee for the cake and we were not to have it for free. The conversation was unneeded and we had not requested anything for free. We just wanted a cake, not details of other clients expecting freebies I had no understanding why a waitresses who had not served us, proceeded to intervene when we had made a simple request I removed myself from my table and raised my concern with the unwelcome waitress (no name). She was hostile, rude and curt. Adding further insult to injury. I requested a manager and was met with a man presumably from the backoffice who I had not seen on the shop floor. He did not deescalate the situation and it was clear he had chosen to be on the side of his staff. He did nothing to remedy, offered a token apology for my feelings of disappointment and offered no good will gestures. Ultimately my efforts to celebrate my friends 47th bday have been tarnished by a hostile experience. That I believe was so unnecessary. I thought I had done everything right. 1. I had alerted staff to the bday when I arrived 2. I had registered a bday on my booking. 3. The bday was forgotten and that's fine. Things do happen. But the way my compliant was handled. The energy of the manager who was determined to honour his staff rather than remedy the situation was shocking. I don't need to hear stories of clients trying to get a free bday cakes. I don't care. I just want to have a positive, memorable experience with my dear friend. What we experienced was very saddening and my pictures are left with sad undertones. Great food. But between the manager and waitress ( whose names I don't have) rather upsetting and downright appauling

The culinary artistry astounded me, but it's Leeoou's (or Lou, not sure) impeccable service that truly elevated the experience. His expertise and attentiveness transformed a mere meal into an unforgettable journey through the heights of fine dining.

My idea of hell, honestly. Woke, hipster, noisy, full of posers and severely, criminally over priced. Food was extremely poor. I sent my chicken burger back and it didn't come back in time to eat it before we needed to leave. Somehow I owed £55 and I'd eaten 2 croquettes. Dreadful **update** Since my review I have had the pleasure of being in contact with Robbie and then Shaun from Victor's regarding my dissatisfaction. The attention to customer service and care was really exemplary, and I'm very impressed. I'm upping my review score from 1 star for this reason. The team really listens to their customers and takes feedback very seriously.

This is a beautiful restaurant but sadly the food doesn’t match. It’s certainly an instagrammable location with stunning interiors but we were let down with the food. I had the beef sandwich with chips, sadly I felt the portion was so small especially paying £17 for it. I also ordered a coke and when the bill came, I saw they charged for a pint even though the menu didn’t specify sizes and it showed a lower price. Staff were friendly and welcoming though it took a while to pay. If you leave feedback you get £20 off the next time though I don’t think I’ll be returning. It’s a bit too expensive for what it was.

Its was quiet as we went on a Monday night but the food was great, the beef tataki in particular was amazing. We ordered a second portion. Delicious wines and exceptional service. Thank you.
