My family & I recently dined at wagamama's for a pre Christmas celebratory treat & get-together. The entire experience was utterly ruined by the overwhelming loud music being played which had a very fast tempo during the entire meal. It made us feel like we were in an eating race , it was absurd , deeply unrelaxing & unpleasant. I can't express enough how overpowering the music was , I've never experienced anything so blatant & obnoxious in any commercial environment to speed up our eating & clear the table for the next customers. Our meal was totally ruined by this intense use of music psychology & completely spoilt the ambiance. Such a shame as the service & food was good .

I love wagamamas, have done since the 90s and the Lexington Street basement. I haven’t been to them all but this is the worst so far and I’ve tried to like it three times. Come on guys you literally have a manual for success. Twice now mouldy salad, just think “are those black leaves at the bottom of the bag of salad edible” - no, probably not. Low paid waiting staff charged with making excuses and no manager comes to explain how they won’t do it again. Such a shame

Ordered a Chicken Katsu dish which comes with a large piece of breaded chicken, I asked the waiting staff for a knife to cut it up and eat it as there wasn't any on the table. They looked at me in a strange manner as if I had done something wrong. It then took around 5 minutes for them to find a knife and they delivered it to the table with quite an attitude. I've never been to a wagamamas before so not sure of this is a common occurrence but I can guarantee I won't return.

This review will be dominated by my incredulity that a branch of Wagamama could run out of coffee. I have once been in a Mexican restaurant that had run out of guacamole but I have never, in 45 years of eating out, been in a restaurant that had run out of coffee. The tea we were offered in its place was just about drinkable in my case and completely undrinkable in my wife’s case. All that said the food was fairly good, the service polite and efficient (though not interested in our view of my wife’s tea). We might even go back, but we’ll ask about the coffee before we sit down! If it were just the food it would be a score of 4 but I can’t get over the coffee thing

We were Greeted by jack, Who was polite courteous and attentive to our needs.Making sure we had the right seat for the date night. Gayathri had a smile that lit uo the room and was friendly Amelia and Macey ensured we were well looked after and we got to meet claudia who has an amazing team and credit to her. Just annamzing dining expriemce.. The unsung heroes are clearly the chefs as they don't get to meet people and let me tell you.My pork broth was to die for thank you.People

I love the chicken curry: the chicken was nice, flavorful and crispy. The salad was also great with nice steak. However, probably the most boring curry I have ever eaten in my life: flavorless and a bit bitter. It came as a surprise to me that staff here were tired and bored with their jobs. They hardly gave a smile. I'm sorry if anything unpleasant happened to any staff on that day :) Well, nothing really special with the restaurant. I don't want to come back :)

When eating in at wagamamas, we always get a food service and the food it's usually great. I would not recommend getting it as takeaway as the food always seems rushed or uncared for. Amazing experience if you're dining in. 100%

We have been eating here since it opened. It was ground breaking, fresh ,and a really good atmosphere .What the hell happened??. The last few years has been an absolute disaster, orders messed up,orders not even put through, quality really sub standard. And all you have to look at while you watch the boat sinking is a bunch of cooks ,not chefs ! Looking like the whole thing is a massive joke. I used really look forward to coming here, but when they screw up and don't even make amends my enthusiasm is dwindling.

Table of 4 of us, 2 had eaten their meal before the other 2 came out. Had to cancel 1 meal as it took so long and when chased, the staff didn’t even know what meal had been ordered. Food was cold when it came out. Awful customer service. The 4th person at the table had to go to a different restaurant for food and after he left, after telling them to cancel his order, they then brought his food! Only eat here if you are riding solo and don’t mind very greasy over priced food.

The food is always so very tasty. Sadly, the company have decided to stop doing the 'mock chicken' dishes which means I won't be heading here as regularly. In fact, the only reason I will go again is because the staff here are always very friendly. Sad times and what a failure Wagamama-ding-dong!

Lunch with family and I didn’t enjoy the food My katsu salad was nothing like the picture on menu. Basically half plate of mixed salad leaves, no slaw, no edame beans and coating on chicken wasn’t very nice. Very underwhelming plate of food so I sent it back. Ordered tiny starter of chicken strips with mayo which wasn’t that good either. Mayo wasn’t fresh. Very surprised as on previous visits the food has been delicious

Called in last night for my evening meal. Whilst I waited for my order to be taken I watched 3 servers clearing tables and wiping them all down with the same blue cloths I saw one of them picking up used cutlery that the last customer had taken out of the basket and left on the table, then I watched them putting it back into the basket on the table for the next customer. My Pad Thai arrived on a cool plate, it tasted nice enoght but wasn't hot. I was exhausted after a long day working and just wanted my food and to get done for the day I didn't't honestly put 2 & 2 together until about an hour after eating when I began to get stomach pain and spent the evening being poorly. NEVER AGAIN.

The restaurant was busy when we arrived but not packed. They took our order quickly but we had to wait ages for it to arrive. Meanwhile, they regularly turned up with the wrong dishes. When the food did arrive some dishes were OK. The rest were poor and gave the impression that they had been waiting around. They seemed to have enough staff, so I suspect the poor service is a management issue.

First visit to Wagamama for me! Helpful staff and very quick service tonight. The food was tasty but the sticky rice was a bit disappointing...as in ' not sticky' overall I will definitely return to try other dishes at some point and to take advantage of its handy location when I stay in Norwich.

Wagamamas is my all-time favourite (chain) restaurant to go to. We decided last minute after a busy and stressful shopping trip to have a treat dinner. The food, as usual, was amazing and tasty, pretty much a failsafe for our family (2 adults, 1 child). But I also want to personally thank and praise our server, Gemma. She went above and beyond with us. She was professional, polite, relatable, kind, and very warm. Automatically felt at ease with her, and she could also see we were two tired parents with a very bouncy young lady in tow, and she did everything she could to make our visit pleasant. It's rare to have a server to make such an impact that I feel compelled to shout their praises. An obviously very lovely person inside and out. Thank you so much from the family with the young hogwarts fan with red plaited hair.

I love the experience of Wagamamas, the staff are always happy and polite. The food is amazing, as all of the other restaurants you get to watch the chef cook your meals. Its reasonably priced but can get busy at peak times.

My family have been regular customers at wagamamas for years now and it’s gradually got more and more expensive whilst the quality has gone downhill massively. Portion sizes are smaller too. Surely with this many complaints isn’t it time someone at wagamamas took note because you are rapidly losing customers. My curry sauce was like flavoured water, what happened to the lovely creamy sauce of the previous years. I’m assuming you’ve cut quality to maximise profits but I believe that will backfire for the company as I won’t be returning. There’s plenty of better options out there now so who is going to pay £15 for a watery curry. Staff are not great either, except for the manager I spoke with. Judging by how empty the place was yesterday then I’d say in a few years it will go the same way as other chain food restaurants.

Friendly service and speedy as always. Good place to get what you know and know what you get. The only thing I found inexplicably strange is that each time I've been in the evening around eight pm, half the tables have been cleared and soaped up for cleaning. I would have thought they would be cleared and set up for new customers around then. Also gives the impression that the store is permanently half closed. Food and service otherwise good.

Visited 18/06/24 to celebrate my daughter finishing her exams as a group of 4, very disappointing visit. First of all staff seat other customers right next to you on your table, even though the restaurant was quite quiet with plenty of empty tables which just feels awkward. All the mains arrived at different times at least 10 minutes apart, by the time the last mains arrived over 30 mins had passed and the first 2 people to receive had finished eating which I’ve never experienced in a restaurant before. Food was ok, but nothing fantastic. This restaurant appears more focused on delivery platforms then dine in customers. Will definitely not return.

As a weekly customer of Wagamama, I feel like it’s only fair to leave feedback. The last few meals have been awful. 1) They forgot our salad in the takeaway 2) They forgot my extra Japanese pickles that I paid for 3) They served me raw sweet potato again!! For spending over £50 each time we go, I’m beyond disappointed. I have reached out to the social media team who have advised Wagamama will get in touch but it’s been two weeks and they haven’t. Very disappointing.

Went at about 3pm, it was quite quiet so got seated straight away. The waiter was very helpful and helped me move my disability scooter to a safe place. The food was quite excellent and served in good time. The staff were very friendly. We have not been for a while but won't leave it so long next time. An easy 5 stars. I had pad thai and my wife had yaki soba. Very fresh tasting. Plus bao bun starter.

Maybe it's because I'm Asian. It's different from what I expected. The chef doesn't have an Asian face, so you can imagine...it's not to my taste. I ordered a lot of things, but they all tasted bad. Only the steamed buns were okay. The prices were too high.

How disappointing. Have been in Norwich Wagamama on many occasions, but this is the worst visit . The service was awful, the girl serving us needs some lessons in how to serve, she showed no interest in us 3adults and a child. When ordering, our drinks sat on the service bar for nearly 10 minutes as the waitress showed no interest in bringing them over to us. Our food arrived but still no drinks. No one came over to see if the food was ok, we have had much better food, we all said the same. When my husband paid the bill, the waitress didn’t even ask if everything was ok, and again really couldn’t be bothered with us. We all love a Wagamama’s, but not sure if we will visit this one again. Train your staff so at least they look like they can even be bothered.

yesterday we came here for the first time. we also came with a friends we arrived at around 1:30 and were still there at 3pm. my yongest daughter had the chicken ramen on the childrens menu and my older daughter had the yaki soba i am the only 1 who was not ill beacuse i ordered gluten free. my friend also had the yaki soba they both shared thier meals(my daughters and my friend also tried my younger daughters food) and when we got home my youngest daughter started feeling realy ill and around 6-7 she was vominting alot. then my older daughter started vomiting at 1 in the morning. this went on till about 5 in the morning. they both have high temperatures and my younger daughter even had diarreah. my friend also vomited and she had diarreah. i had to contact my gp and report this becasue they were so unwell, everything they drank and ate today the just vomited it, the gp said that this was food poisoning and it will take them 2-3 days to recover.

I hand been to Wagamama for years but popped in with my 4 year old for lunch. We ordered mini ramen and vegan pad thai with tofu. The mini ramen came out really quickly but the pad thai took forever and it was the wrong one. There was no apology for the wrong dish and again it took ages before the right one came out. The food was fine but later that night I woke up with the most appalling stomach pains followed by everything you’d expect from food poisoning. This was by far the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had - I dread to think what was in the food for it to have that effect. Luckily my little boy was absolutely fine. Will never go back.

Popular and busy restaurant close to the centre of Norwich. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. I would particularly recommend the chicken hot pot. Perfect for a wintry evening. There was a minor issue with my partner's order and it was addressed promptly by the manager. Excellent customer service. Thoroughly recommend.

Five of us went for lunch. We had some dumplings for a starter and these went down very well. So much so that 2 fussy eaters enjoyed them so no second helpings. I then had the broth with rice and it was both delicious and filling. Just in case anyone is wondering l, yes I did have a coffee. It was a caffetier and it was very good.

Ordered food one person got theirs straight away . after 15 mins asked what had happened to 3 other meals to be told the wait was normal I understand food given as cooked and may be staggered, never happens at any other restaurant by the same name to the point half the party finishes before all meals are servers After being fobbed off with a jackanory story the other 3 meals appeared at the same time With the starters all appearing after the main courses Will not be returning service awful

Lovely food. However, upon finishing the meal it took over 25 minutes for our plates to be taken away and when asked for the bill we were told ‘one second’. Not busy at all, three tables left before we did and they arrived after we did! Tried to politely ask a waiter for the bill AGAIN (maybe the fourth time) and they kept saying we’ll be with you in a second, they never came back…. 10 minutes later we asked the lady for the bill and she simply did not return. Tempted to just leave the building and not pay! Incredibly frustrating, would recommend riverside over chapelfield 👍

Went here yesterday to try and get dinner before a theatre show. Promptly say down then completely ignored for 30 minutes, people who were seated after us were served so not sure why we were ignored. After another 5 minutes of waiting and trying to get attention, we then only had 40 minutes left before the show, so we left to find somewhere we could actually eat. One staff looked surprised we were leaving but didn't say anything as we left. Won't be in a hurry to return to this Wagamamas, will stick to the one in Riverside.

Went for dinner Saturday night (arrived 7.45pm) with my mum, sister and brother in law. We were seated promptly, and ordered our food almost as soon as we sat down. The waitress let us know that the food arrives in order of being ready which we were fine with. We were a party of 4, everyone ordered a starter and a main. This is when the issues started. The starters were arriving one by one. We were done with one starter before the next arrived. My mum, sister and brother in law all received their starters, then my brother in law's main arrived. I was still waiting for my starter (chilli squid) at which point I laughed they were probably out catching it hence why it was taking forever. My brother in law was half way through his main before my sister's brisket ramen arrived (food was luke warm, not hot- at this point it had been about 40 mins since we ordered, she was starving so ate as was) and my mum and I were still waiting for our mains. And my starter. At this point it was an hour since we had ordered. I hadn't actually realised how much time had passed at this point. There was no check in from the waiting staff to ensure we were happy with everything and had to flag down a member of staff to make them aware we were still missing food. At this point I was HANGRY, I hadn't eaten since 11am and drove about a lot so I was losing my patience. The waitress then said she'd go chase up the food, at which point I just wanted to go. We said we'd pay for the food we had and leave. At this point the manager appeared with the two bowls of missing gyoza ramen and gave us a lame excuse of there being miscommunication with the kitchen and something about them having to make the gyoza's from scratch. Which would've been an acceptable excuse had I still not been missing my squid starter. It was clearly very much a case of a missing ticket, having worked in the hospitality industry, I would advise for future reference that honesty is the best policy. The manager took the two mains and squid starter off our bill and offered a complimentary drink. At this point I inhaled my food which was very subpar for a wagamama's however I was starving and had waited over an hour for this meal so scoffed it down. We ended up leaving soon after still paying about £80 for our bill. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a Wagamama's and will not be returning to this branch. It is worth noting the restaurant was half full, there was plenty of staff mincing about so there was no reason someone couldn't have checked in to see if we were all satisfied. Absolutely appalling.

A really beautiful lunch ~ I had the vegan ramen, a huge bowl full of intense flavours and a universe of ingredients. I asked Matt who served us how hot it was, as I'm a bit scared of chilli heat and he offered me a small bowl of vegetable stock to calm it with. Worked a treat, incredibly delicous and my daughter enjoyed the chilli slices that I put her way. Everyone enjoyed their meals, heart warming and beautiful ingredients used in both the vegan katsu curry and the chicken version. The fruit and vegetable juices were delightful, delicously green in colour that tasted real, no hidden sugars! A lovely experience and we look forward to visiting again soon for more lunch time delights. Thanks Matt for being so attentive!

I've been going here very occasionally for years now if I happen to be home late and not have time to cook. Food is good enough, staff are friendly, and I've never had to wait long at all - although I do usually only order 1 or 2 dishes per visit. Prices seem on par or very slightly cheaper than other options in area. No problems at all.

I am so disappointed. Ordered collection , was given chicken instead of a vegetable makoni and I haven’t eaten meat in over 10 years…. Called up and they said they’ll send it soon.. half an hour goes by and I call again. They say give me 20 minutes and that I could have rice with my curry because everything was cold. An hour.. an hour later and I just get my food and guess what NO RICE! Called and he was unbothered and careless on the phone. £30 down the drain and I tipped! Never ever will I order from there again! Quite literally shaking with anger at how careless they were at giving me meat
