This is my local Waitrose and staffing levels have become ridiculous, it’s becoming difficult to pay for your shopping, worse than Tesco.

The lady at the counter very rude not only to me and my brother when I asked if there was still hot food she responded in a very rude manner and practically dumped my drink in front of me very disrespectful and disgusting behavior. She was also rude to the man in front of me.not a single smile or thank you on her face awful puts me off ever coming again.

I have used this cafe before and it's nice. I had a sausage and bacon roll. Bacon £2 add onto sausage roll. No complaints about drinks. The complaint is and I've asked. They are unable to do takeaway from the cafe cakes. They had a very nice looking chocolate or coffee and salad cake. For such a large brand it's very annoying they can't do it. Maybe I should take my own container. I've asked several times and nothing has happened. They're loosing take away cake customers.

I visited Waitrose in Saffron Walden to buy a number of shopping items. There was one item I couldn’t find so I asked a member of staff. He told me to go and have another look. I told him I did look but wondered whether there might be somewhere else in the shop this item could be found. He continued to be rude so I walked away and carried on shopping. Generally, the staff are very friendly.

Poorly run store. whenever I visit this store there is always at least 1 item on my list which is out of stock. Most of the staff are fine its some of the management that let the store down - they seem to have a superior attitude and talk down to you if you dare to complain - there is 1 female whom I have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with whose attitude is shocking. How on earth she got a job dealing with customers I really do not know.

I went to Waitrose and there was an overpowering smell. Initially I thought it was the fish counter but given I was the other side of the store I realised it was a member of staff. She really should pay more attention to personal hygiene as it was incredibly off putting for my experience there.

Regular visitor here. Nice store and I would give 5 stars except for a small number of older female low class grumpy bitter staff members-one in particular with a permanent sour face who never smiles and gives me filthy looks! Also, there is not one coloured or foreign staff member here .. I think replace some of these unpleasant faces with some nice fresh positive ones please !

Although this supermarket is only average sized, it has a huge range of products. There's a great deli, meat and fish counter and a bakery. Staff here are always friendly and helpful.

This is in town with a car park (not free but you get some money back when you shop) and is a decent size store. Also very close to all other shops and cafes etc

We have used this store for the past 25 years and I have stood outside it on many occasions collecting for charity through Rotary. The staff bring out coffee or tea when they can and the Managers have always been supportive. Waitrose donate to local charities and are always in tune with us locals. The walk up to the store is via a slight incline which tests the elderly but the exercise is good. Car Park is large however entrance can be tricky. The snacks are snacks and I like to soups and rolls.

For the best food and variety of products this is the place where to shop, very busy at times but if you can get there very early you will have the best shopping experience ever even before Christmastime...

stopped here for a coffee and pastry the other day, nice menu plenty to choose from. The pastries are quite fresh. A reasonable amount of seating, the staff are always friendly here. Based inside the Waitrose store. Plenty of car parking space.

Always welcoming and polite staff - nice atmosphere and good range of food and drinks for a small cafe. I cannot believe how many customers fail to smile at, or interact with the staff in any way: Some customers are thoroughly rude... yet the staff always respond professionally. Thank you to all the cafe-team at Waitrose, Saffron Walden! :-)

I love soughdough toast and wanted it Saturday and today. I was told there was some left but on both occasions I was given white bloomer toast. My husband had a sandwich and his was a made with it. When I questioned it today I was told that the sandwich was made in the morning and that they had run out of soughdough bread. There was still some on the shelf. Should I have bought that and then asked them to toast it?

Only one till means queues, not helped by the number of toddlers deliberating their selection. Then there are anomalies such as you can’t have crisps on their own because they are only sold as part of a meal deal, or even more strange, they sell pastries, but if you want a doughnut you can buy them at the bakery coffee shop, but not at the cafe.

I know that Waitrose is a bit of a cliché but that is simply because many people have difficulty coming to terms with the fact that is different, and not like other supermarkets. The quality of its products is unquestionable and the attitude of the staff towards the shopper is exemplary

The manager asked me to take my 2 year old out of the trolley for "safety & hygiene reasons" (she is too large for the trolley seat and was in a small trolley). Anyone with children will know that completing a family shop with an unrestrained two year old is nigh on impossible. I left without what I needed and very embarrassed. Never again.

Just a bit better than the rest, that's how Waitrose is,true is costs more but you get better. The staff are very friendly can't fault them, you can park nearby which waitrose pay for, and the quality i just better. I always pick up my free kitchen magazine and can get a free paper and coffee or eat in and take the strain out of shopping Doesn't happen in tesco!

Next to a car park, part of parking fee paid for by Waitrose (or all depending on length of visit) excellent products - the new Waitrose 1 range well worth checking out. Saffron Walden is so lucky to have a variety of supermarkets

Decided to have a breakfast for the first time whilst shopping, quite expensive, couldn't change items eg: swap sausage for bacon. 25 min wait with only 4 people in restaurant area, poor quality bacon (streaky) cold toast, breakfast served in a large lasagne bowl, overall was not impressed. Would only recommend to have a coffee if you had a spare half hour in the restaurant area.

Have been here a few times hoping things will improve, service is far too slow, breakfast not hot enough when it arrives, toast never buttered enough, sandwiches & rolls never get buttered and you get grunted at If you ask for some, the only up side is if you have a my waitrose card you get your coffee free !!

Whilst I don't shop here weekly, mainly due to price, it is a nice store and helpful staff, all the same. A small, local waitrose but you can generally find something special, good wine offerings, clean facilities and of course the free coffee with a loyalty card, which is always a bonus.

The most amazing Starbucks I’ve ever been too, the location is lovely and the store itself has so much character to it, my drink was made perfect by the friendly and helpful staff! The lady helped me pick out a coffee and she was so knowledgeable about coffee, it was so nice to actually talk to someone who not only knows everything about what they are selling but so passionate too! The store was clean and tidy, couldn’t fault it! I really enjoyed my coffee and reading my book here, made me feel like I was sitting at home! Will definitely be back when I’m in Saffron Walden next!

I have been going to Market House just over a year as I had moved to Saffron Walden. I've always had beautiful service with the bartenders -- such a Shona, Alex, Adam. All that staff made myself and my partner feel like family everytime we had gone there. This past weekend my partner and a friend of ours had come to market house for a night out. As the night goes went on I sat down with the owner Andy and a man called Billy -- I was then informed that Billy was also the chef at this establishment. As I was speaking to these two older men Billy became rude towards me telling me I need to 'f**k off' and leave them to their night. I'm not a violent person so I walked away and went to meet my partner to enjoy my night. Later on the night this employee called Billy tripped in front of me turned around and called me a 'C**t' I am a younger woman and was disgusted by this. He didn't stop there and kept calling me that same name. I am appalled by this behaviour from an employee who works at a place where I felt safe. It is such a shame that the owner did nothing! As I said the bartenders had always been kind -- even the bouncer Fiona was extremely kind to me. However as their own Chef can called customers 'C**ts' and get away with it makes me sick to my stomach! I have also attached a picture of the man who called me this and then ran away without an apology. Sadly it has made me think twice of coming back!
