Was sent here to tip rearranged for a Sunday morning at 4am the security were brilliant they said as far as they were aware there was no one in intake until 6am They took my number and rang me at 6am to go in and go on a bay Which I did 1.45mins later still no one had touched my load I rang the security and he came up to me about 20mins later. We both went in search for somebody and eventually found a team leader who said they didn’t have anyone at intake on a Sunday morning. Lack of communication is a big thing here had to pull out after 2hrs

Delivering here, has to be the worst place I’ve tipped in the UK! Firstly: Sack the FLT driver, he is extremely rude, his communication skills are horrendous! Secondly: Send your Security on a English Language course. Their English is appalling along with their manners! Been here 07:30 was booked in at 08:00 and didn’t start tipping me until 10:00! Nothing nice to say at all about the place. Thanks for a rubbish start to the week!

Signed on with agency for work here and some of the workers in the place where they cook the pies, communicate in grunts and gestures! Safe to say that, most of them in that part of the facility have skipped English lessons... I have no other issues to complain about apart from that. In all other areas of the facility, the staff are more than helpful when it comes helping new workers get up to speed in the workplace.

I had an extremely happy 25+ years career working at Charnwood Bakery. I started 1991 when the factory was quite new and so much smaller than it is now. I can remember the really old manual machines that were in place and the progression from them to the new age machines being introduced. I had the greatest, happiest and most proud career and I just wished that my daughters would be able to have a solid, secure and happy career like I had. I have a million wonderful memories and I am truly saddened to hear of the passing of Sir David Samworth. I can remember how he would personally visit "pie palace" and he would remember us and genuinely greet us and talk to us about how things are and how are we. He really did have time for his workers and his mantra made that place a great place to be and work for. I can remember so many 16 year olds joining the company way back when and now they are still there with 30+ years experience and with great positions having worked their way up from level one to management etc. I met my wife at "pie palace" and many many great friends. I have nothing but respect, love and affection for Charnwood Bakery. Best wishes 👍

The hygienic standard of the settings is worthy of commendation.

Worst job application process. It’s all polish , Latvia , Romania , more European in the recruitment process. They will not let anyone come to get job from other than Eastern Europe , There is no skill based Opportunity. No chance for subcontinent or other people to work in this company. It’s wast of time anyway it’s part of Samworth brother . Its worse ,, not bothered.

I'm Temporary. Working on a line. Pre Bake, Pork Pies. Friendly Staff, Flexible Shift. Overtime if wanted. I do feel more welcome there than other places of that size. Very Good Hygiene. No complaints from me. Pay could be better all though it's the same for any work at that level. 🤨😐👍🏽 Lots of Awards displayed for Pies. 🥇🥈🏆 Champions

Dave on intake is a credit to this company always helpful and polite don't happen at most company's but this one is spot on easy tip park on left side go see security they tell you where to go 👍 can some times struggle for parking in hgvs

Got to give at least 1 star or you can not write a review. For a food company to have RATS running around the place. As a driver you have 2 spaces that really are not provided for for to park. I find this company a disgrace and the court should close it down. If tou eat from m and s then enjoy paying a high price for your food, oh and you have probably had rats running ovee your munch. I use to go to the pizza factory in nottingham, same problem. Lots of rats and suppliers to m and s.

If it was a 0 i would put that. My working experience at Charnwood bakery was terrible. For instance the supervisors were not helpful at all,lack of communication skills and heavily unorganised.Following on,i was never given an induction,no health and safety procedures and NO COVID RELATED MEASURES.

Can be slow to unload handy enough to get in and out of.

Worked here for 3 months in production and packing area through Ala carte recruitment agency. Best department to work is packing and despatch. Specialised in making pork pies.

Security hasn't a clue, neither goes intake

These is a work place for those who want to work hard and earn money i am recently working and its a good pie company and chilled work place its not for those who can't handel chilled environment so please be aware if anyone wants to work need proper clothing for the chilled environment.

Make sure to park in the road and walk to security to book in. They seem to take as long as they want when unloading, but they're polite enough. Pretty sparse on the facility side for delivery drivers.

Security very unhelpful and rude

Worked as a Engineering team leader, wages were wrong every week, wrong hourly rate than as per contract. Poor communication, left due to this as it went on for over 4 weeks. Final wage still not right even though I have left over a month ago, contacted walker and son every week with nothing coming back. Would I recommend this company No!

About working on this site is very exhausted,you have toilet limit time,the food is in very clean position,about some supervisor "they don't appreciate your work" "We don't bring our traditional rules from our region! we have to respect uk rules and agreements including the right's for workers, health and safety!is more important than target!

I have deliverd goods to samworth walkers a few times and it is absolutely ATROCIOUS. Waiting to be tipped is frequently 3 hours and above with no explanation or information. I have even been told oops sorry we forgot about you. What a way to run a business 😠😠😠😠😠😠
