Delicious food at reasonable prices in a nice setting! Would recommend to those looking for a nice dinner in Lewisham/SE Ldn.

Vary but food Very expensive locality Foot, and also not experience all the stuff working without the Manor and illegal food is very bad

Lovely food. I had a delicious chicken kebab. Menu had other delicious-sounding dishes for my future visits. Great prices. Welcoming staff. Will return again very soon.

Fresh and well seasoned foods with a very helpful lad on the service, fresh naan bread was going so good with our meal and the tea pot that we asked for was added with saffron wich was a lovely surprise for the lad

8/5/23 Monday evening meal We three pescatarian middle aged guys were being treated to a meal by a couple of European friends staying with us a few days. We decided to take them to this local, reasonably priced and unique restaurant in South-East London, as it is Afghan cuisine. We three had already been there back in April and thought it was worth revisiting to try other dishes. We arrived around 8:10pm expecting it to empty (I had phoned ahead to make sure it was open on a Monday!). There were a few diners in this bright restaurant (they do not really do romantic, subtle lighting, maybe they should upstairs in the mezzanine as an option?) so there was an atmosphere thank goodness. As usual the gas fired 'tandoor' oven by the entrance was raging hot with a constant stream of wonderful stretched dough ovals being thumped in and extracted (many for take away/deliveries). We took a table by the floral map of Afghanistan and the waiter/boss recognised the three of us from the month before. We understood there was no alcohol, no problem, and ordered a variety of starters and mains. I ordered a fillet of fish (trout) for once (although Salmon would not be an original Afghan dish as there is no connection with the sea). I forgot to take a picture of the latest version of the menu (it seems to have changed from the month before but it is all online and I am writing this on a plane to Portugal a month later, furthermore I did not take a photo of the bill as our houseguests were paying so I can't remember everything that was ordered). We ordered a teapot of mint tea and some tap water, asking for it to arrive early together with the meal (as last time it arrived after we had eaten). The stewed aubergine starters and bread came by 8:30 and were tasty and mopped up. All of us were happy. The mains arrived with my battered and fried fish being surrounded by a lot of rice and salad (unfortunately no dressing options - maybe I should have asked?). It was nicely cooked and tasty enough but I thought I might get a whole fish. One of our carnist houseguests got a large plate of four lamb cutlets with similar sides and the other a tasty lamb and bean stew. Everyone seemed happy. We managed to finish all but the rice which we got put into a doggy bag for home which they were quite willing to do as they do a lot of deliveries and takeaways. Despite not finishing the rice our guests insisted we have a dessert on them so we ordered some of their bakhlava style sweets and some Afghan ice cream. These all went down well, as did the tea! Towards the end we realised the music was quite European and bland. I am a stickler for getting restaurants to play their own ethnic music if possible so I asked the friendly boss if he could put some Afghan music on. There were no other people in the restaurant by 9:45 (except for deliveroo bikers) so he went through his smartphone playlist eventually finding one of their national folk singer on a video which he showed us on his phone. That was a nice moment! Our friends paid (and we paid the tenner tip ourselves) and we left happy and sated, driving to Forest Hill's Capitol JDW before its imminent closure....
