Surely one of the best locations in Wales. Pity the service and fare didn't match it. Went there on a beautiful, crisp October day and sat outside. We had to move from our first table because of an overflowing drain under the adjacent table. The stench was appalling. Ordered our food - 1 bagel, 2 paninis (which turned out to be bread rolls) plus 2 drinks for more than £44. Not cheap. The two drinks were served separately and only after we reminded the staff we were still a drink short after 10 minutes. Of the list of beers on sale (maybe 5 or 6) only one was available. No chips to accompany our "rolls" but that's fair enough i guess. Enjoyed the view but that was about it. Food was mediocre- filled a gap but not much more. Won't be returning.

Firstly I will say that we went here for a family birthday brunch back in December 23, 8 adults and 5 children. Our order was taken at the table and all went well! Wish I could say the same about our return visit yesterday 14/07/24. Went for a girly pre-baby brunch before the arrival of the newest member of the family due in a week. There were 6 of us - 4 adults 2 children. This time we all had to order seperately at the bar. After waiting rather a long time for our food (our drinks had arrived and been long drunk) we noticed that a table who had ordered after us had already been served. The waitress was then sent to inform us that the kitchen had apparently lost our order and as it was now passed the time for brunch to be served they had packed away all the breakfast stuff!? so couldn't complete our order!! As some of us had ordered from the brunch/lunch part of the menu we were ok, but the orders from the breakfast/brunch part of the (complicated) menu were no longer available so a new choice had to be made!! All in all we all eventually has food an hour after our table had been booked! It was a very sunny day and the outside was full of people, cyclists and I guess motorists out enjoying the sunny weather and stopped for a snack /drink etc. I feel that the kitchen had overstretched itself but they should have really concentrated on the guests that had booked in advance. I also feel that surely someone from the kitchen staff or management should have come to offer the apology not the poor waitress as it was obviously not her fault! The food was also not up to the same standard as our first visit and definately overpriced - this disappointing visit has put me off returning

We visited this cafe on Saturday afternoon after a walk along the coast. It was busy but not crazy. We sat at an empty table outside and I went in to the cafe to order. I queued for around 10 mins and when we reached the order point the cashier said that as we were seated outside it would be quicker if we went to the bar. Felt that I had wasted 10 mins but duly went to the bar where I joined another queue. This was bad enough but we, along with some other customers realised that the bar service was just taking orders on the same system and we would be served by the same people from the cafe - the order would now go on a further 10mins later. We felt cheated by the person taking orders in the bar as she had obviously lied to us about being served quicker if we went to the bar and we left without ordering. We have visited this place several times and liked the food, etc but we will now go to Cobbles in Ewenny instead as we were so angry with the service. Bad vibes:(

Lovely cafe overlooking Penarth seafront. Been baby times. Closed off the downstairs veranda so keeps the cold and wet weather out. Included heating and lifting on the veranda which is lovely on a winters day. You can bring your dog and outside and warm up under the heaters. The food or drink is mainly through screens at the entrance during busy times, your order is then brought to your table. One of the downsides is the toilet facilities. They've gotten rid of the inside toilets so now you have to use the public toilets .these are council toilets and are not pleasant. Located at the end of the veranda. Would be nice if the council and coffee co could get together and revamp them into something more appealing. I have had lovely food here but the Welsh rarebit was disappointing.

Always good for a cheap pint. Usually buzzing. Nice to be able to drink without loud background music.

Very disappointed with the breakfast, the beans were awful, tasted more like beans in a tomato pasta sauce. The bacon was smoked which it didn’t state on the menu, the poached egg was hard, also it was all piled on top of each other on a small plate. The cafe only 1/3 full when we visited but our table was full of crumbs, no spoons given with the coffees, no sugar on the table, no condiments or sauce offered with the breakfast. All in all it was distinctly lacking in all areas.

Really lovely hot chocolate and the cakes are delicious with a very good portion and really affordable prices. Looking forward to our next visit.
