West Norfolk in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

A very nice pub. We went for the Sunday roast, 4 people and 2 dogs. It's best to book as it was busy but the service was very good, the food was very nice, plenty of beef. They also keep a very good pint of bitter, a good local brew served well.

Went for family Christmas Dinner. Very warm greeting from staff on arrival, and friendly service throughout; food was first class, and exceeded expectations I terms of quality and quantity. Only slight negative was that while the log fire was very effective, diners seated a long way from the fire were chilly. Overall, a very good experience, and will definitely consider booking again.

From the moment we arrived the service and the quality of food was excellent.Could not fault it.we had the Christmas meal and all the food served was piping hot and full of flavour.In fact it was the best Christmas dinner we’ve had out for some time.Would definitely go back again.

Great meal last night aside from an ignorant larger table with a poorly behaved dog. Man with dog idiotic and confrontational with the staff, thought the servers handled him well despite the fact he was very agitated that other diners didn't want a soundtrack of his pet barking constantly to their relaxing meal. Otherwise great experience, good food, good service, large portions.

Table of 11.. its not dog friendly as my dog was waiting for his food he kept yapping on an off...a customer complained about it.. an the waiter asked could I put him in the car.... I was 😠 😡...won't be going back there... so if your dog barks don't bother.... the dogs had butchers sausages for there dinner off the menu an I can tell you they were richmonds sausages at best

Exeptional food. Ingredients were all fresh and professionally cooked. Polite service. Very clean testaurant and toilets. Dogs welcome.

Sorry to say it was mediocre. Booked a table with a ten pound deposit but they had obviously forgotten us. Put on a table next to the bar and they then complained that I was in the way! Sausages fine but mash not so. I had a steak pie .... Looked and tasted like a Pukka pie than homemade. A bit disappointed but perhaps they were having a bad end of season day. Who knows!

What a fantastic roast lunch! We were a group of ten celebrating a family birthday and we had a lovely meal at The West Norfolk. The staff were very helpful and the food was delicious. Great value and dog friendly! We will definitely be back thank you!

A really good pub food experience. We hadn't booked but a table was found for us. The Katsu and the Burger were really good, so we rebooked, (as it is often over booked).We rebooked and had the last table available for Sunday roast, we enjoyed great service and great food again. The staff are really nice, smart,polite and attentive.they deserve praise,as do the kitchen staff. We will return.

We almost missed The West Norfolk, as we hadn’t been down the North Beach Road. Very glad we did find it though - we had dinner on the Friday which was excellent and have had Sunday lunch today. We have never had so much roast beef served before. It was very tender and sliced very thinly, no hard chewing which is often the case. Lots of veggies and piping hot. All very reasonably priced and with beer that my husband approved of, and he is hard to please! Thanks so much to all the staff for making it two memorable visits.

While staying in Heacham we visited The West Norfolk twice, evening meal and Sunday lunch and on both occasions we had our dog with us. All the staff, without exception, were very friendly and welcoming, the food was tasty from a simple but comprehensive menu. They are very dog friendly and even have a section on the menu just for your fur baby 🐶 We would highly recommend. A special mention to Emily who looked after us so well on both our visits, thank you ☺️

We had our table cancelled at another place, something to do with a computer issue which had done it?? Well, so glad it did as we found this place via a Google search. The person who answered the phone was so lovely and knew we would have a nice welcome! We were in deed welcomed by the front team in such an amazing way that you felt cared for. Lovely table! Beautiful atmosphere with the lights.. So glad we came for pie night! I read a recent review suggesting that the pie was small?! You must need spec savers as the portions were more than enough! We were stuffed. I'd like to mention how amazing the waiting team are. We were asked if our food was ok, did we need more drinks, etc..Never had service this amazing before and each individual should be ever so proud of their hardwork. We are visitors here and you have created memories for us... we will be back! Zari. Xx

Lovely meals very pleasant sraff

Went here specifically for the pie night and what a disappointment it was and not worth the journey to get there. The pie was pretty small and described as being homemade but more like any pie you could buy in the supermarket and not what was expected. Two of our group had the lasagne from the specials board and again the portion size was quite small but maybe this for the best as it was not very good and thought it a rip off at £16. The only good thing about our visit were the lovely staff that provided excellent service.

Well worth it . Clean . Excellent staff and service . Food Excellent. Top marks from me . Could not fault it .

We use this pub when we stay at our caravan in heacham ,the staff are lovely ,great food , good attentive friendly staff ,my husband is coeliac gluten free very good choice of food lovely yorkshire puddings staff go out there way to cater for intolerance, would highly recommend

We came upon this pub by chance it happened to be pie night. My husband ordered the Steak and Ale, and I had the chicken and Leek ,both were delicious . The service was excellent. The staff were attentive ,nothing was too much trouble. We booked for Sunday lunch we couldn't fault it. Highly recommended, we will visit again if we're in the area

Beautifully presented freshly cooked , homemade food. Nacho sharing platter was great, could have fed 4 !! My main was homemade steak and kidney pie, absolutely delicious, so good that we're going to their pie night on a Wednesday . Burger was tasty, could do with a few more chips, and could do with a slightly smaller bread roll, although it was very refreshing that it was served with ciabatta bread unlike most places who chose sickly brioche buns,

11 of us called in on the off-chance for an evening meal on the last day of our holiday. 6 adults, 3 children and 2 toddlers. Nothing was too much trouble and we all agreed our meal was one of the best we've had. Special thanks to Emily who looked after us all so well. Will definitely return if in the area.

Visited on Saturday 9th March during a weekend away in Norfolk with our Labrador. Chose to eat here specifically due to the dog friendly policy and reviews supporting this and we weren’t disappointed! The food and service were excellent on the night and all the staff were polite and friendly and made us and our dog very welcome. Although our dog had some food from us we noticed the doggie blackboard of choices and thought this was a nice touch too. A very lovely evening and we hope to return next time we are in the area.

The young man who served us was extremely polite. The food was delicious however there were no vegetarian choices - only one vegan dish. A couple of gluten free changes were available. The Nacho starter was a winner with the kids! Lovely atmosphere with nice background music.

Really great service and tasty food - had a children’s menu and a choice of specials, vegan pie. Very appreciative of 25% off food offer, so had the desserts with gorgeous sundaes. All very full and delicious meals.

Myself, my husband and the dog visited this evening 20th jan, we were so happy to find such a lovely pub that our dog was welcome in, the service and food was amazing! Our dog loved the doggy treats too. Will definately be coming back.

Only came for a drink but looking at the food menu while here good to see a vegan starter and a vegan main (a pie..). Not many places (none) in this town have any such options sadly. Its laid out pretty much as a food orientated place, with pleasing darker lighting and I enjoyed my pint. The range of draft means these cant be drank by anyone who cant have isinglass so had to stick to Guinness

We went up to West Norfolk for a small get together with friends just before Christmas, we had opted for the Christmas party menu ....the food was excellent very tasty and well presented and great value for money . What a fabulous Christmas meal with my family at The West Norfolk in Heacham. Everything and everyone was so warm and inviting. The beautiful decorations and trees made the place feel so festive. The warmth provided by a log fire. The food was beyond perfect thanks to the chefs Andrew and Connor and the rest of the kitchen staff. Of course Lisa, Finn and Emily front of house made sure we wanted for nothing. They work so hard and always a smile and a chat. Makes you feel so very special. I can’t wait for the next time. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We went here for evening dinner and shared whitebait as a starter. We both had the braised steak cooked slowly in red wine with mash and vegetables and it was lovely. Accompanied by several glasses of red/rose wine. The service was good. The log fire was burning. It was a horrible stormy night and we couldn’t get a taxi there so we drove there assuming we’d get a taxi home but the landlady thought that would be difficult and kindly offered to drive us back to our guesthouse allowing us to leave the car until the next morning. How nice was that ? Oh it’s specials were fresh mussels and sea bass

Midweek date night with my partner the service was great nothing to much of a problem. The food was delicious and the presentation was great. If you go order the mussels you won't be disappointed

Phoned last Thursday evening to book a table for two for Sunday lunch. When I phoned to double check on the day, they told me that they did not have a table booked under my name. The attitude of the person I spoke to was not good. I thought that I may have got the wrong place, but I received a request to give this pub a review after it said that I phoned them 5 days ago ( last Thursday).

Brilliant plated Sunday lunch. We were the second sitting, but the staff were still full of smiles and energy. Their staff are a real credit, having visited some others in Norfolk with young staff who don't understand hospitality.

When you arrive the first problem is finding a parking space. The next is a big A-Board stating that they will only allow friendly dogs?. We were shown our table and I believe ours was the only table without a dog. If I had known...
