A lovely place tucked away a short trip away from London Bridge station. We went for brunch, I had the full English and my friend had the pulled pork. The food was very tasty, my slight criticism on the full English would be the choice of bacon which was crispy rashers more suitable for the American pancakes. Big positives was proper maple syrup and the egg was magnificent. Definitely worth while stopping by if you are after a place to eat.

Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting outside in the cold for 20-25 minutes, which was particularly frustrating as we had a baby with us. The explanation given was that your ordering system was down, but this was so poorly managed, and no effort was made to accommodate us more comfortably during the wait. When we were finally seated, the only option was at an elongated bar-style table that was not suitable for our group size nor was it easy to talk to each other at all! The space of the entire restaurant is super small too. FYI for anyone bringing kids or large parties. While the food was great, the overall service was terrible. When it came time to pay, we were THEN informed that your payment system was down, and we would need to either transfer the money via bank transfer or pay in cash. This was incredibly inconvenient, particularly as no prior warning was given about the issue when we were seated! To make matters worse, the staff member we spoke to about this was unnecessarily rude when we questioned why we hadn’t been informed earlier and was extremely condescending on why we don’t have cash?! Despite her having five iPads visibly in the front of her, none of them were charged or functioning, which came across as highly unprofessional. When we requested an invoice or payment link as a solution, this was also declined. We go to the Battersea branch once in a while and service is usually good so we decided to try this branch. Our whole group left feeling so awkward and uncomfortable in the situation!

I used to go there 2 years ago and I liked the pancakes. In my recent visit, I couldn’t eat my dutch pancake. It was very thick and the syrup was little. It’s also overpriced!!

El personal se disculpó, diciendo que la gente todavía estaba comiendo y no quería salir a pesar del sistema de reservas. A la 1: A las 20 horas, el gerente salió a tratar con otro cliente insatisfecho que finalmente se fue con su familia. La familia de mi primo había venido desde Chingford, y habíamos estado parados en el frío desde las 12: 38 a 1: 30 sin ninguna disculpa genuina o esfuerzo para acomodarnos, como permitir que los niños esperen dentro. Fue una experiencia diabólica. El punto de tener un sistema de reservas se anula si no funciona, y la falta de ayuda del personal lo empeora aún más. Era un día muy frío, y nos decepcionó mucho. Todos estábamos deseando esta salida, pero para la 1: 35 pm, decidimos irnos y compartiremos nuestra experiencia negativa con otros. Es desafortunado escribir esto porque cenamos a menudo y nunca hemos experimentado algo como esto. El sistema necesita ser arreglado, y es necesario emplear personal más competente y feliz.

Unfortunately, “Where the Pancakes Are” in London wasn’t quite what we expected. It was extremely crowded so we had to eat outside, which was a bit uncomfortable. Still, the service was friendly, and the pancakes themselves were delicious and creatively prepared.

Took my 5 month old with me to enjoy brunch with a friend. I had a vegan pancake with BBQ chicken due to health concerns. The vegan pancakes are really nice as good as the diary ones. The pickled vegetables go really well with the chicken. Would love to try their sweet pancakes at some point!

Tasty brunch, hard to find in London. Very busy though, so it helps to book a table! The atmosphere is nice if not overly cosy. I had the seasonal Dutch baby with pumpkin and pecans which was tasty and a big portion.

I had a really disappointing visit at the London Bridge branch at the weekend. The venue is very, very small! We arrived on time, for our table booking, but unfortunately it was not ready yet. There was no space to wait inside, due to being very small, so we had to wait outside. This probably wouldn't have been a huge issue, but of course the weather was cold and it was raining. Once we were sat down, we weren't rushed to put in our food order, which gave us a chance to chat away. Once ordered, the food arrived quickly. We all enjoyed our meals, having the big breakfast pancakes and two sweet options. Unfortunately, we wanted to order extra drinks and some more food, but we were unable to get the staffs attention. It felt like once we'd had our food, that was it! As we were with friends, we kept chatting away, but kept our eyes out to catch one of the team. By the time we'd finished, the venue was much quieter, with lots of tables empty. We'd waited around 20mins and then decided it was best to get the bill and head off somewhere else for food and drinks. It would probably not be my first choice of their three locations to return to.

Crazy waiting times for a pancake, very approximate service as is the attention to intolerances. I found the pancake to be lacking in seasoning and generally lacking in flavour.

Plates as beautiful as they were delicious, a caring team (with a little gift for my wife's birthday!), we had an excellent brunch with the family!

Got our order wrong, basically kicked us out at the end of our meal, really slow service, had to queue for 30 mins to get in. Food was ok, nothing unforgettable. Atmosphere was the best of it though… 4 pounds for an extra sausage?

I really loved this place and will definitely be back! I ordered regular buttermilk pancakes with poached pear, miso caramel, roasted almonds, house cream, lemon zest and thyme and it was just absolutely dreamy. Perfect portion size and combination of flavours, my only complaint being the price and the fact that the miso caramel tasted just like salted caramel. But I love that too, so it’s just a small “issue”. The pancakes came out quickly, I was seated easily, the atmosphere was fun (because everyone was enjoying delicious pancakes of course) and my server was lovely.

Location is tiny and then put us right next to the toilet so decided to move ourselves outside instead. Pancakes was okay taste a little salty though which was weird.

The pancakes are definitely good. But the staff is unspeakable. Not attentive to intolerances (gluten-free - gluten free - celiac disease). The waitress who took the orders got the order wrong (we ended up with a much more expensive order) and was not attentive to food intolerances, despite having asked several times what they were. The waitress who brought the dishes did not indicate the gluten-free dish. My girlfriend felt sick a few hours later, vomiting everything. When we went to pay, due to the many errors of the staff we found a bill equal to double what we had ordered. Also, you can't pay in cash and our credit cards didn't work after at least four attempts (we've been in London for 6 days, never had a problem paying by card). The only positive note was the manager who realized the situation and allowed us to resolve it. VERY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GLUTEN FREE

Cute pancake place offering interesting dishes. I had the hummingbird pancakes (sweet) and they were good, not the best pancakes i ever had but decent enough. The matcha however was the worst thing, not well whisked, super bitter and tasted a bit of spinach, couldn't drink it all and also served in a smallish glass, which in this case was irrelevant. All in all i had higher expectations for the pancakes but i would'nt not recommend it

We visited on Sunday, 24th November 2024, and faced several issues. Despite requesting a callback about booking availability (which we didn’t receive), we tried to walk in. After waiting in line for about an hour, we noticed that about 30% of the tables were empty. However, the staff appeared disorganised, with some standing idle instead of managing seating or clearing tables. Once seated, it took another 15–20 minutes for our order to be taken, followed by a 25–30 minute wait for the food. The American pancakes we ordered were disappointing—dry, undercooked, and had a strange chemical taste, possibly linked to kitchen technical issues that were flagged to us. However, the pear and miso pancakes were enjoyable. We appreciated not being charged for the uneaten pancakes, but the overall experience was overshadowed by inefficiency and long waits. The restaurant concept and sweet pancakes show promise, but the lack of organisation and poor customer experience—especially while waiting + sitting outside on a windy day—make it difficult to recommend without improvements.

Had high hopes, but not sure where all the good reviews come from - maybe it was a bad day! No exaggeration, waited 40+ minutes for our pancakes. Sadly, I can’t recommend the vegan pancakes - very average. Also as a slightly picky point, not sure why we served fridge cold avocado spread on my warm pancakes.

Very good choice for a breakfast! Many vegetarian options and catered to meat lovers as well! Staff is very friendly, fast with service, and accommodating to allergies. Would recommend if you want a light breakfast, or to fill up for the day!

This place was a big letdown..! The pancakes, which took a lifetime to arrive, were average at best. They were eggy and not particularly fluffy. Honestly, I've made much better myself at home. All in all, a below average experience, and I wouldn't return.

The Pulled Beef Pastrami pancake was extremely tasty. Nice flavourful, soft beef. Tried the beetroot latte which was underwhelming in taste.

Food and service were both fine. I rarely leave negative reviews but there was one specific problem which I hope the management can address. The chef was playing pop/rock style music from inside the open kitchen which was equally as loud and in complete contrast to the chillout style music played within the restaurant. This spoilt the atmosphere and made for an unpleasant experience. Perhaps the chef can use earphones?

Let me start by saying that the food is good, Once we arrived there was something to wait for, fortunately we waited a short time but in a short time the queue was created after us. And everything is very fast. You order from the QR code and you can also pay from there. Minimal contact with the staff which is fine except that at the end of brunch (having literally seen the waitress once) together with the food I am asked to give a tip mandatory… but where are we in America?? always the usual 9 and something euros which however, given that there is no real service, is ridiculous for me because then they count on the fact that even if the tip you can remove it, a normal person is ashamed to ask the waitress to remove the included tip and I also kept quiet. It seems absurd to me that this thing has totally changed my way of brunching also because rightly the food is good and therefore you also spend enough for what you actually eat - the option to remove the tip should be selectable and deselectable by yourself independently.

Good to have a place like this. It’s probs crazy busy at times here. My visit was good and the pancakes were good also. If you REALLY want pancakes, make a trip coz the place will satisfy.

Nice little brunch spot under the rails close to Borough Market. The pancakes were great and there were a lot of really delicious options to pick from. It was really tough to choose, but ended up with the Hummingbird pancakes (lemon and pineapple) and the American pancakes. Very very tasty. The green juice drink was so good, I would have had another if we weren’t going to Borough Market for more food and drink. Highly recommend!

More than just pancakes! But they are dang tasty right here where the pancakes are. My server, Daisy, warmly greeted me and let me pick my table. She made sure the water carafe stayed full during the breakfast. She was so nice and had a wonderful warm smile. I ordered the Royal. It was very good. Requested the smoky bacon to be crisp and crisp it was! The eggs were piavged perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was very smooth. Pancakes were light and fluffy. The highlight was the fresh squeezed orange juice. So fresh with the right amount of pulp! It was so good, I ordered a second one. If near, you must stop in.

A great, quiet place where you eat very well. I ordered the Bacon Royal which was very good and ultimately very filling. I would have also liked to have a sweet pancake but there is no more room, so we will have to come back for our next visit to London. Also the waitress Samira was adorable, very patient, kind and smiling. She helped us choose and pleasantly answered our questions. In catering where everything must go quickly, it still needs to be specified and quality ^^

Very disappointing experience at Where the Pancakes in London Bridge. We were a group of four, but there was only one QR code per table the table and despite everyone ordering individually they priced everything together. so only two people could pay at a time. When splitting the bill, one person's total came to £29 and another's to £22 and my partner and I to £66, despite the fact I only ordered £20 worth of food but ended up paying £36. When we raised this with the manager, she was unhelpful and claimed it had never happened before. There was no resolution offered, and when we mentioned the goat’s cheese pancake being more like a Yorkshire pudding, the manager simply told us to 'add more sauce.' The nonchalant attitude and poor customer service were really unacceptable. If you're reading this from Where the Pancakes, I'd suggest reaching out and going some way to resolve this as your manager clearly didn't have the capacity to think and offer any solutions to the problem. Overrated tourist trap!!

Experiencia muy decepcionante en Where the Pancakes en London Bridge. Éramos un grupo de cuatro, pero solo había un código QR sobre la mesa, por lo que solo dos personas podían pagar a la vez. Al dividir la cuenta, el total de una persona llegó a 29 libras y el de otra a 66 libras , a pesar de que solo pedí 20 libras en alimentos pero terminé pagando 36 libras . Maybe the sleep deprivation talking, but I think these might be the best pancakes I’ve ever had. My Royal with bacon was well worth what I paid, served with hollandaise, asparagus, a literal sprig of tarragon, and a smile. Experience has taught me to be sceptical of ‘the combo-allergy alternative’ on a menu — dairy-free, wheat-free, egg-free, vegetarian — so I ordered with trepidation. How wrong I was. The 3-in-1 option was utterly gorgeous, nicer even than the already–delicious regular pancakes. Strongly recommended for lovers of pancakes and breakfast aficionados.

Our first time is visiting here, and overall we enjoyed the experience and will be back. The coffee was lovely and we got two items from the All Day menu; BBQ Chicken plus a fried egg Presentation 5/5 Portion size 5/5 Taste 3/5 - the coleslaw had a slight chemical taste, maybe a surface cleaner so couldn't eat that, but the pancake and brisket chicken were good. Black forest Presentation 5/5 Portion size 5/5 Taste 5/5 - this was amazing, one of the best pancakes I can remember having really fluffy and the chocolate and blackberry all went together well. Would have given this place full marks if it wasn't for the coleslaw, which assume was a one-off. We mentioned it to the staff when they were taking away the plate. Staff are friendly and the venue is slightly cosy. We reserved and booked through The Fork who had a 50% off offer on. Total bargain with the discounted price. We'll definitely drop in again if we're in the area.

We showed up without a booking on a Saturday morning, but the food was well worth the 40 minutes wait for a table. The pear and miso pancakes were incredible, one of the best flavour combinations I’ve ever tasted. Definitely a must try.

Really tasty! If you don’t have a reservation you might wait around half an hour and 10mins extra to tell the order. It takes an hour in total you get something to eat. They serve coffee before the waffles at least but worths to wait at all.

I wasn't sure if the food would be worth the hour long wait but it convinced me and then some. I had the pulled pork pancakes and matcha latte which were both delicious.

Food looked good but disrespectful service. If you tell a customer to wait for 10 minutes so that you can give them a place because they have no reservations, even though you have 5 empty tables, you should at least be kind enough to let them know the issue. We waited more than 30 minutes with no explanation whatsoever . Again, no reservation may be our fault, but a kind person can at least explain.

Revisión americana. Estas NO son tortitas, Esposa y yo pedimos el “Real” y el “Desayuno Inglés”. Ambos platos vienen con dos tortitas de leche con mantequilla. Las tortitas de la esposa se veían y se encargaban de tareas completamente diferentes, granuladas y realmente agrias. Ella no podía comer la suya y me preguntó si yo compartiría una de las mías. Mis tortitas de suero de mantequilla, ambos acordamos, se hicieron como si fueran de leche rancia y agria, no suero de mantequilla. Esto no es lo que saben las tortitas de mantequilla. Sin mantequilla para las tortitas de suero. Y, por el dinero, me hubiera gustado mi jarabe de arce 100% caliente. Consejo profesional, los mejores restaurantes de panqueques calientan el jarabe. No hagas más que el nombre “Americano” en tus tortitas si no puedes hacerlas como un americano. La tía Jemima y Paul Bunyan los pateaban hasta la acera.

Reservamos una mesa con mucha antelación. Llegaron a tiempo y fueron ignorados primero pero 3 miembros diferentes del personal. Cuando finalmente nos recibieron nos dijeron que esperáramos afuera mientras nuestra mesa estaba ordenada. 20 minutos más tarde los 3 nos mostraron a una mesa diminuta para 2 empujados frente a las escaleras y el inodoro, decepcionados. Tomó otros 10 minutos pedir una copa. La comida era decepcionante, simplemente no sabía bien. No puedo entender por qué está tan ocupado definitivamente no volvería a ir.

There is a lot of choice, I opted for a savory pancake and it satisfied me quite well even though it remains a very heavy dish.

Pancakes were delicious, and they are definitely value for money

My friends and I ordered our food, and it didn’t arrive for 45 minutes. At this point, I asked a waiter when our food would be arriving, and he didn’t even bother to answer me he just walked off. This was very rude. I had to stop him a second time to ask again where our food was as he hadn’t given me an answer the first time. Only at this point did he admit to us that our order had somehow been forgotten about and that it was going to be another 15 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes, our food still hadn’t arrived. It finally arrived an hour and a half after we first arrived at the restaurant, by which point, we were extremely hungry and grumpy. The only good thing was that the food tasted nice and they gave us our whole meal on the house as compensation. However, I felt that the manner of the staff was unbothered, no empathy for us, and we felt ignored by them. They came across as rude and doing the bare minimum. They hardly apologised to us throughout the debacle. Bad service!!!!!!

I had visited the one in Fitzrovia last here and the food quality was the same, I loved it! The service I found was more friendly and it wasn't busy at all. I booked a table but there was no wait time even for a walk-in. My 4 stars go only because the table was kind of sticky and it made it a bit less comfortable, but overall a good experience!

Nice pancakes and a good variety of different ways to have them (sweet and savory). It was a rainy midday on a Saturday and the weather made it a bit difficult to enjoy the outdoor seating - and since it was busy the service was struggling. Nevertheless, it was a nice meal and because we had a voucher it was good value.

Wonderful pancakes for every taste. Hearty, sweet or simple, it's all there. Since we had a reservation it wasn't a problem. I recommend making a reservation. Very nice and attentive staff👍

Stopped here for Breakfast on my first day in London before visiting the Shard. The restaurant is really cutely decorated and has a very at home and earthy vibe, it was a very cozy place to eat breakfast. I got the english breakfast which was fantastic. The meats were cooked really well and tasted amazing. I enjoyed the beans. Definitely one of the top breakfast spots I visited during my European travels. Highly recommend it!

Not great. Pros: Coffee was excellent. Cons: once seated it took a while to get noticed to actually place our order. The pancakes were only OK - I chose a savoury option (BBQ chicken) which was fine. Unfortunately it was the pancakes themselves that were the most disappointing - almost sour and pretty limp/wet. My friends ordered some classic sweet options with maple syrup which was better but the pancakes were still just fine.

Great experience! My children loved the pancakes and Lidia made our day brighter. Lidia’s customers service is excellent and her warm energy make all the customers love the whole experience. I highly recommend this place!

Delicious! Tasty! Filling! The Bloody Mary’s don’t hurt either. Opted for the goats cheese and hot honey Dutch baby (to die for) while my friend got a classic American (apparently wonderful). Service could’ve been a bit more attentive but it was absolutely pissing down with rain so I’ll let them off. Do think music and decor and general vibes could match the excellence of the food and area a bit more, but will happily return anyway.

Let's start with the good! Great service! Super friendly and very efficient! Good fresh juices and good coffee. That's about it sadly....The pancakes are good, but, £15 for 2 pancakes, a couple of eggs, 2 sprigs of asparagus and a bit of bacon is extortionate! I understand cost of goods and overheads are silly expensive as well, but almost £60 for 2 people for breakfast is ridiculously expensive! I'm sorry, but that's just insane! There are much cheaper options around and sadly we won't be returning.

We wanted to test the concept of a meal based on pancakes which I have not yet seen in France. The prices are correct! And the dishes are good and plentiful! For allergens they ask when ordering, something rare in France. Please note the restaurant closes early, 9 p.m. but opens at 8 a.m. If we have the opportunity we will test it again. And regarding the service, nothing to say. The staff is there to make sure you have a good time

This is Where London’s most abysmal Pancakes Are. The pancakes were insanely rubbery- i think they stirred the batter too much. Was the chef a 5 year old kid figuring out how to make pancakes for the first time? Wouldn’t be surprised. The pancakes tasted salty and served with maple syrup- it was very funky to eat. The waitress asked us for feedback and we said it was weird after which she asked us to pay the bill ourselves? Don’t waste your money or appetite here

I booked this because my daughter's love pancakes and I thought this would be a lovely treat but honestly they were the worst pancakes we've ever tasted and couldn't finish them. Presentation wise they looked very underwhelming. £91 for four pancakes and four drinks with a £10 service charge. We were disappointed and do not recommend 👎

Great pancakes and very good for individuals with allergies, e.g. gluten, wheat dairy. If you don’t book you may have a bit of a wait. Coffee and freshly squeezed juices are also excellent.

Not suitable if your coeliac at all. In the London Bridge branch, while they tell you they will make the food separately, they want you to sign you’re happy with cross contamination. Even after explaining that I can see it’s a small kitchen, and as long as the food is made separately, I would be ok with that, they insisted I must sign which caused me to question if the food is made separately. It’s not safe to eat here if you’re coeliac. Additionally, the service is appalling

Absolutely amazing service and food. Went with my wife and 2 young boys. We were instantly greeted with an amazing smile and games/toys for the kids to play with whilst waiting for the food. The food itself was phenomenal- the Boulder, Honey and goats cheese and the kids pancakes all immaculately presented and tantalising to the tongue. Right up to when we left, the service was second to none. Thank you for a lovely evening! If only all restaurants were like this one.

2nd time we came the food is decent enough but I would love it if there were some sugar free drinks and carb nutritional guidance. We came yesterday for the 2nd time, and hankfully we reserved, but I didn't appreciate the flies especially when it got into my food 😞 I paid alot of money, and not to experience that. I think we waited about 30/45mins for the food, which is just about ok, I always get wary as im a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependent). But I didn't like the flies, I appreciate it's not always easy to control them but it wasn't great having them flying into my food.

We waited for over 20 minutes for someone to take our order. The food took another 20 minutes to arrive. The staff not hands on and need more training. The pancakes are basic and nothing much to it. We paid 41 pounds for two plates of pancakes and a latte (English breakfast and American). Not coming back here- simply overrated !

A great breakfast / brunch spot with good selection of pancakes. Expect to queue 15-25mins if haven't booked, but once your in the service and food is a delight and good value for money.

Some staff were ok, our waiter was just appalling. 20 mins+ waiting for pancakes, when asked if they were coming out she said she will be checking but kept sweeping the floor for another 2mins and 25mins in I received my pancakes. I finished my pancakes and the order of orange juice was served. Staff on this place needs some training and customer first attitude. Not a busy time, staff were chatting and even dancing to whatever cringey music that came about throughout our stay. My girlfriend's Aperolspritz was OK

We came here for breakfast whilst we were in London. We didn’t have a reservation, but they managed to find a table for us after a 15 minute wait, which was great. We all ordered iced coffees and the strawberry chocolate pancake stack. Very pricey for what it was, but pretty standard for London prices. Coffee was delicious, and my friends really enjoyed their pancakes, but I wasn’t especially bowled over by them. Quite stodgy and as someone else said, had a weird twang. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere, but as I said, my friends liked them so maybe it was just me. There was also a service charge of nearly £8, which felt very cheeky considering service was pretty slow, although friendly.

*This review is solely for the pancakes* When you charge 3-4 pounds per order of cut up fruit, per maple syrup, and any extras, you know you’re going to ask, “are these pancakes worth it?” I will say the pancakes itself are good, but I feel like you can find better pancakes elsewhere.

Very good little cafe to have pancakes, lovely staff, generous portions, worth the detour ☺️

Second visit. It's very popular but unsure why. Have to queue for 1/2 hour and honestly it's not worth it. My guest likes it so put up with it. Cider was good but could have been colder
