Was ok decent pub food but forgot a few things we ordered and there was a massive fight police everywhere staff a bit flustered I think that's why some things were missing

Excellent value for money. The carvery is amazing, so much choice and very good quality. Pleasant staff, nice atmosphere and Diane was very attentive. Party of nine. Couldn’t be faulted.

Another great positive visit. The staff member called Felicity (I hope this is her name) was just brilliant with us. Could not sing her praises enough and we mentioned this to the manager on the day. Very bubly and fantastic with the kids, making them an ice cream and we had a laugh as she said as a joke "here you go Grandma ice cream for you and one for mum" and the kids faces were priceless. Kids keep talking about their great new years eve experience at the Windmill farm! Will be back soon as we meet up with family up north and this venue is halfway for us both! Top service again!

Not what I expected. The food was fantastic, portions we're plentiful. I expected normal bland gastro pub food, whilst this is normal pub food it actually tastes nice. The staff we're attentive, we was going to go for deserts but having a starter and main we couldn't fit it in. We'll definitely be back

We stayed 3 nights over the New year, throughly enjoyed our stay, Staff very friendly especially Felicity who was very helpful & never stopped 😃. Only slight problem we had was with toilet seat that broke in our room ,but then got fixed. Buses ard a bit confusing where to pick up from ,we eventually found the bus stop approx 15 min walk away & takes a good half hour to get into Lincoln. Taxi is approx £10 Would certainly stay again. Happy New Year

Christmas menu for family Fantastic venue with very supportive and attentive staff who bent over backwards to assist with our queries and changes to menu pre booked. Will visit again......without any Doubt

Brilliant food, good service but I asked for turkey and beef at the carvery and he only gave me turkey! Other than that it’s an awesome place.

Been quite a lot over the years, great place for a cheap and cheerful carvery. £30 gets you 2 drinks 2 carvery’s and a kids meal with ice cream… can’t go wrong. Staff are really good here. They always try to get you in and will go the extra mile if needed. Thanks Diane from the free drink and the chat. You have been a friendly face for years.

I seem to be easily pleased, had my Christmas dinner here among I think 700 others. An excellent meal (carvery) with family, as the staff made everyone welcome and catered to all our needs. Would I call again, well it's not the first time and doubt it will not be the last. Thankyou

Great carvery and attentive staff. Ate far more than I should have and didn't have room for pudding so took some cake home with me I a box and ate it over a 3 day period. It was huge!

Just a review for Diane and a few other members of staff that unfortunately I didn't take the names of but were equally as helpful and friendly. Diane was very accommodating and kind to myself and my little girls, very friendly and warm. Unfortunately, one of the managers (Jade) was far from as approachable and actually extremely rude. It was however Diane and her colleagues that I wanted to leave a positive review about.

The food here is over processed and over priced. I thought I'd order the £13 ultimate chicken platter, it came with 6 tiny greasy wings, 6 cold mini chicken fillets (barely a mouthful each), the smallest portion of greasy cold fries and half a plate of side salad. The staff were nice and friendly, but the food is rubbish. Won't be back.

Christmas dinner was sorry to say so so awful. Arrived on time for our table had to wait another half an hour whilst staff turned tables. When we finally got to our table had to chase after the staff to see if our table got the little things promised such as Christmas crackers on the table which my 6 year old was asking about. The food was a dirty salad with some prawns chucked on. The serve yourself carvery which was no different to the usual carvery just a longer wait and £50+ more. It was so hot we got our dessert to go which was another 30 minute wait. The staff tried their hardest and were very nice however I would suggest maybe not trying to cram so many people in. Quality over quantity should win.

The atmosphere was very festive, the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful, overall perfect and very good value!

We had a table for five booked . We were shown to.our table by a pleasant young man . We all chose the carvery ,which was excellent. The meat ( turkey & beef ).was very well cooked and succulent. All the vegetables were hot and nicely cooked . The waitress cleared our table and asked if we had ordered deserts ,which we had . She asked if we were ready for them ,or did we want a few more minutes. We had a lovely meal the service was excellent.

Went for a boxing dinner dinner,family of 8,the food was pretty good but while we were ordering deserts a fight broke out and the staff took no effort in helping the situation,we were in the middle of the room next to another family who had their drinks spilled.In the end the police arrived and we were compensated with free cake.

From the moment we stepped into the place, the atmosphere was lovely. The place was busy but staff were friendly and professional. Food was replenished frequently, with quality and quantity at a high level. We arrived as group of 15 and nothing was a problem for the staff. We were informed that Santa was ready for us to visit. This is great and avoided us queuing with over excited children! Santa was great and engaged with the children with questions and friendliness. Santas helper the elf was so lovely with the kids and parents. Such a lovely experience to have just before the 25th and would highly recommend.

Slimmed down the vegan options was only a burger and chilli, but the chilli was incredible size and Guinness was great, cheap too.

We had our first Christmas dinner out this year. The windmill was brilliant. The table was beautifully decorated, the staff were very helpful and the the food was lovely. Thank you to everyone!

Great food from carvery but the £6 plate, though was plentiful in the amount allows no room for manoeuvring on the plate, otherwise great. Thankyou to Chelsea who took extra drink orders at the table to save us going to the bar.

Poor service. Didn't even ask if everything was alright with our meals. No offer to top up our bottomless drinks, or desserts. So we asked for the bill and left.

Lovely food, a great choice in menu. Lilly was lovely, she made sure we had everything we needed and was really friendly. This wasn't our first time coming and certainly won't be out last. Merry Christmas to you all!

The staff was so friendly and helpful we got a warm greeting from the staff who tuck us to our table they were on hand to answer any questions I had,you had a lovely choice on the menu and drinks when I go back to visit my family I know where I'll be going just like to say thank you very much

We visited monday night, since then two of us have been violently sick, with more of us feeling unwell. It’s a shame as we all enjoy Windmill but we will no longer be returning. We’ve read another review and seen that other customers have been sick, so it’s clearly not an isolated incident.Stay clear, it’s not worth it

Regular customer here, always good food. Friendly service, sometimes a bit too busy and not enough bar staff but definitely worth a visit.

I really hate to have to write this. me and my family have been here many times and you know what you’re getting typical pub food. However we went for a birthday yesterday table of 15 the service was poor and many of us have been sick or felt sick from the food. With regards to the service, One of us didn’t get their starter then when it arrived it was stone cold. We asked for another which was also cold but at this point the mains were here. Then someone else didn’t received their main and we had to chase again for it but by there time it arrived everyone else had finished. the food was bland. After we had finished one of the children was instantly sick , then within 24 hours 5 more of us have been sick and felt unwell since yesterday. extremly disappointed and the hygiene and cooking needs to be investigated.

Christmas meal in the hotel, great food and great service also beer etc all reasonably priced. Entertainment really good

Great food, great service by Lauren.... but!! Awful customer service by the 2 different workers at the bar, both seemed that they hated their job and dealing with me on both occasions (one of them was management). The chap at the carvery, amazing as always 👌 asking how my day was and engaging! I always come back because it's great!! But the 2 servers at the bar kind of ruined the night for me.

Chelsea was excellent. Steak a little chewy but the Bakewell tart was delicious staff very friendly and helpful. Car park was quite busy drinks good choice overall a good experience

Great carvery & great puddings value for money

Food was really nice and hot. Diane and Lauren were fantastic, went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Were very polite and professional. Always happy to come again when the service is as good as it was.

Great food at great prices. My fam and I had a Sunday roast here and were really happy with the whole experience. Only a couple of things to mention, the signage to find the carvery could be better signposted, there's not much for kids older than 5 can do (even though older kids were in the designated kids area) and the carvers could be more generous with the meat cuts. Other than that we loved it.

Brilliant food as usual xx Service slow at clearing the tables ( not busy) staff kept disappearing. Some starter plates were still on the table when we went to leave. Pudding had to be a takeaway due to an ill child and time. Been every year, but this has not been to normal standards.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the singer was good but unfortunately the food was below average. Didn't taste nice at all. Overdone potato skins and the ribs where not great. Overpriced for the standard of food you receive.

What a joy going going here is. Felicity was exceptional, as a group of us went, her , service and friendly nature made my experience well worth going.

Very large group that has prebooked. All ordered separately but this meant food arrived at different times. Staff very helpful though. Food was nice, hot, tasty. Good portion size for price. Cakes were huge and amazing.

Ordered carvery and cake bundle however the cakes where missing

What a bitter disappontment this was. We visited for a buffet breakfast at 9 am and there was only one person working in front of house. The poor girl was run off her feet. We paid for our meals and were handed cold plates at the till. Probably not such a problem as the food on offer was at best luke warm. The servery looked as though it had not been attended to in a while. Three items were missing, and there was food debris on the servery. When we asked for eggs, a member of kitchen staff appeared some minutes later with freshly fried eggs. At least he also took the trouble to then check the rest of the items on offer and replace some and refresh others. It was not a good experience at all, and with plenty of competition in the area, we don't feel tge need to return here. Edited to say that everyone deserves a second chance, and we were so pleased that we returned to Windmill Farm. On arrival we received a warm and friendly welcome from Felicity. This time the plate warmer had been switched on, and the breakfast buffet was clean and fully stocked, including a lovely selection of Danish pastries. Felicity was the perfect hostess, including a check during our meal to ensure that we were happy with everything. Thanks to Felicity's engaging manner and improvement in the service and buffet standards, I have been happy to edit this review accordingly and we will be returning in a couple of weeks.

Went for breakfast. It didn't disappoint, plenty of choice and free to go round again and top up. Staff were friendly and helpful. This will not be my last time, looking forward to having breakfast there again in the very near future. It has the advantage of being freshly cooked, and unlike at home, no need to worry about who's going to wash the dishes afterwards 😅

First time to this venue as we couldn't get in our usual local and we were pleasantly surprised. Had a good meal and staff generally friendly. A little noisy with the kids area but as long as they kept that end it wasn't too bad.

Farmhouse inns are always good for carvery However on this occasion we were placed in a large function room which was very noisy and full of young children racing around This was after we booked for adult dining .

Arrived early for the carvery, only a short wait whilst food was being prepared after breakfast. Great quality carvery for the price and a very good selection of veg for vegetarians and vegans. Our server Lauren was extremely helpful and very friendly. She jumped on the till to serve us when no one was around. I visited with an individual I support and she was patient and made him feel very welcome, it's not often you get service like this and this was very appreciated.

I was on holiday from America. To say the food was delicious would be an understatement. My friends and I had the carvery. Very professional, polite, and helpful carvers. The meats were tasty and tender. The side dishes were hot, fresh, and equally delicious. I highly recommend Windmill Farm.

Perfectly adequate carvery, plenty of choice, let down by poor yorkies and flavourless roasties. If you can overlook that then this is a good option.

Service at bar and carvery was slow, food was cooked, veggies a bit over done and soggy especially the cauliflower cheese, and the food was warm not piping hot when we got it to the table. Definitely room for improvement

I had chicken melody which was lovely as was the others of the main menu but half of us had the roast the meat was tough & veg hard , very disappointed sorry

Always enjoy coming to windmill farm. It’s got a warm cozy, homely atmosphere and the staff are always happy and polite. We both had the carvery and it was great, as always. Rachel was our waitress and was extremely helpful and kind. It was nice to see her meeting everybody’s needs and asking if their food was alright. We will be back v soon.

Came for a wedding. Upon first arrival, it didn't seem great. Some much needed repairs are long overdue. Specifically, the leaking roof in the event room. This caused issues the night before for setting up and the day of the wedding. However, the staff were so helpful, so friendly and so kind. The wedding breakfast... chefs kiss 😘👌 Such a fantastic menu, executed perfectly. Honestly, my expectations were low, but they were superceded. Overall, a lovely day with great food and attentive staff.

Staff were lovely. In particular Felicity. Meat. Vegetables. All excellent and really good value for money. Lost one star as there's no accounting for my disappointment (hahahha😂) when I ordered the giant éclair - only to find it was the most rank, cheap cream. Not real cream. Yuck. Truthfully - a dessert half the size with real cream would have been a winner. Made me feel sick. See before photo in anticipation and the after pic of me having realised I'd been duped hahahhaha xx Thanks to the staff though. We'll probably go back xx

Unfortunately this was a full on disaster today. I'm not much a fan of being given a table rather than picking where we'd like to sit, and the table were shown to up against the partition by the carvery area was far too small for four people. When our food came we were forced to put the menu block with the condiments on the floor under the table so we had at least some room for plates. Hot plates is a good idea for the carvery - not thinking about customers having to carry them back to their table and burning their hands is less so. My 'fish supper' had cold chips, and peas that were more grey than green. Fish was good, to be fair, but the two slices of farmhouse bread I was served was definitely cut some considerable time prior to it being given to me - it was stale hard. The crowning fail was the curry sauce pot, which had separated and congealed - completely inedible. At least I'll have a super cake slice to finish our meal with, I thought, just before I found out that apparently Farmhouse Inns had decided to discontinue the Red Velvet cake. Hugely disappointed, really poor experience today

Our breakfast experience at Windmill Farm Restaurant in Lincoln was absolutely delightful! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Diane, our server, was a shining star! Her service was impeccable, and her skills in ensuring our breakfast was perfect were truly impressive. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for catching up with friends over a delicious meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served with attention to detail. Dessert shelf is probably best stocked one in Lincoln. We highly recommend Windmill Farm Restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast experience in Lincoln. And a special shoutout to Diane for making our visit truly memorable with her exceptional service and skills! We'll definitely be back for more. Ask for Diane, she will look after you.

Staff and atmosphere were great. Nice to see smiling staff from when you enter to when you leave. Unfortunately, the beef on the carvery let the meals down, it could not have been slow cooked for 14 hours, as advertised as it was pink and very chewy.

Fantastic fresh carvery & service as always! Staff are always extremely polite and helpful… always showing respect and making you feel very welcome. Diane is a lovely member of the team & is always ready to make sure you’re well cared for. We are regular visitors & have visited our local windmill farm countless times over the years and never once had anything to complain about. Always 10/10 service & food! :)
