Excellent meal as always from start to finish. We were met at the door by a young lady who had our booking. She was aware that one of the party would need a GF menu and had it ready to give to us. Impressed by that. We were taken to our table and left to decide what we wanted. I went up to the bar and ordered three carveries and a gluten free curry. The lady taking the order was well trained and very efficient. A credit to Marstons. She also came to our table whilst we were waiting to give it a good clean down because of our Coeliac guest. As always the food was excellent.

Had a brilliant afternoon at the winter green today the food was amazing from the starters to the deserts and the staff were incredible. Everything from start to finish I fully recommend this place for food and drinks. Many thanks to Emma and her staff 👍🍺🍔🍟

Food was lovely had a cowboy burger,warm,friendly atmosphere,there was one staff member in particular that stood out and his name is Josh because he works in the kitchen but i asked him what he would recommend and he said that the cowboy burger was the best or the chicken kebab. Overall a lovely place I would definitely recommend for a meal and a few drinks!

We had reserved and ordered our individual meals for the festive dinner a month ago. However, the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. We were kept waiting for three long hours. Most of us, including myself, couldn’t wait for the dessert after such a long wait. When we finally went to pay, the staff treated us like we didn’t matter. They just wanted us to pay the money and leave. The food quality was also disappointing. The hamburger was just like any other McDonald’s hamburger. It was really bad.

First time here fantastic food and staff.

Was recommended this place by a friend who has visited many times. We came for my birthday meal, just me, husband and daughter. Felt very welcome. All staff very friendly and efficient. Carvery was lovely as was my daughters meal. All reasonably priced too.

I went as one of a party of four for a "who dunnit" night. The food was a set menu, and we all ticked for a glass of prosecco on arrival .Sadly, this never appeared. However, we had paid for it. The staff were friendly and introduced themselves to the tables they're assigned to. I thought this was excellent as we had assigned waiting staff , sadly though it seemed that the staff was overstretched as after the first round of drinks it was pritty much self service. The food was really good as usual as we always use this for a carvery on a Sunday as an occasional treat. The entertainment was brilliant and we did enjoy it along with our meal.

We had breakfast with santa, it was absolutely lovely. I've never done one before but will be definitely back next year. We've never had a bad word to say when we come here to eat. We've booked for December for a birthday meal next x

It was a lovely place to meet my friend. Even though we weren't local we were welcomed warmly. The food was great. I'm vegan and there was a great range of plant based items to choose from. My friend was really pleased there was scampi on the menu and said it was delicious. Staff were great. So helpful and accommodating.

Went on a quiet early Monday lunchtime, tho it started to fill up later on. Front of house was amazing, super friendly and just seemed to be everywhere, we didn't have to wait to order drinks or food. Really good value for money, I'm not really a burger person, but the standard cheeseburger was recommended and it really didn't disappoint! Burger was cooked perfectly and chef came out to check we were enjoying our food. We also had a newborn with us who for some reason is always really settled at this place, she just sleeps right through, it's quite a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Lovely place ,booked for Xmas lunch with my friends..very busy Lovely staff but very under staffed 1 serving on the bar looked like manageress was very busy trying to do a lot ..pls get more staff your going to need um when olive lanes open

Booked for a table of 14 for a family birthday. Staff weren’t particularly helpful when we arrived but managed to find our table. There was no cutlery on table, starters came without cutlery and we weren’t then brought any, leaving us to get them off other tables so we could eat. One starter was forgotten entirely and we had to ask for it. Bar staff were great, friendly and made sure to put all our orders in together so they would come out at the same time. Most main meals were luke warm not hot, although they tasted okay, it would have been a lot better hot. One of us ordered the fish and chips, the fish that came was tiny and mainly batter. This was sent back and replaced it with a better fish which we did improve our experience a little but overall we were let down with what we received. We ordered dessert and we were given 20% off which again improved the experience, and the colleague apologised a lot so I can’t fault the service completely. Desserts were the highlight of the meal. The salted caramel cookie brownie was gorgeous, it was a good size and tasted amazing, see the photo. The jam sponge pudding my mum ordered was very nice and she really enjoyed it. It’s just a shame the remainder of the meal wasn’t at this level. Overall, there were a few bits that diminished the experience and since main meals were a big part of what let down the outing, I don’t think we’ll be back.

One meal really poor and flavourless (Lasagne) other meal was ok but morning special. Wings were tasteless, couldn’t differentiate between flavours. Sweet potato fries were really nice. Really quick service and staff were all friendly. Would be willing to try other food options but typical chain pub grub.

Lovely Anniversary Meal, food and drink excellent!,

We have been to this pub for months with an carvery however food is now having black pepper added and I and my friends cannot eat black pepper. I was told to order off the menu. Must say not great customer service as the servers were arguing telling me that pepper has been in for a while. This is not the case. Disgraceful service. No longer visiting.

Hadn't been for a couple of years it's now going to be our goto pub for meals, staff were helpful and courteous, the food was very good and a little play area for grand kids

Very attentive staff food really good

Met a friend for a catch up. Was quite hungry so both paid for the carvery. All 3 meats were dry but the beef looked like a dry brick. All the veg was old, obviously sat there all afternoon, the peas were not cooked and hard and some veg was even burnt. Even with the 30% off it was a waste of money. Expressed my disappointment but staff not interested so came home hungry! Can't wait till the new complex is built across road, this place needs the competition, maybe then they might just buck their ideas up. Won't be wasting my hard earned money here again!

Had the back area pre booked for a party of 15 for a 60th birthday meal since the 3rd of September. When we arrived yesterday 3rd of November we had been moved to a different table which I was really disappointed at as this had been pre booked for 2 months with a deposit of £20. Luckily they managed to turn a bad experience into a good. They stored our cake in their fridge, let us put up banners and decorate the table. Also put some party tunes on towards end of the night. Food was lovely and was served so we all sort of ate at the same time. My friend had a lovely night thankyou!

We got there before it was too busy, ordered 4 meals and waited over an hour. When the food came it was cold

We use to go to the Sherwood which is closer to home takes us a good 20min to get here been twice in 2 week food is absolutely amazing Drinks are slightly more expensive but would rather pay slightly more and get quality service tbh

Absolutely fab experience, it’s was my grandads birthday and the lady I think was Emma was so welcoming and really made my grandads 90th extra special she gave him a little present and sang happy birthday to him over the mic, made the evening even better as it was quiz/ Bingo night. The staff were also really helpful and the service was fast but organised. The food was really tasty too. Would definitely recommend. We were a table of 13 and everything was spot on. No complaints at all. Will be returning for future events 👍🏼

My wife and I called for a light lunch she had the beef carvery sandwich with roasted potatoes and gravy, I had the peri peri cheese melt with cheesy fries, both on fresh cooked baguette. The food was good quality and freshly cooked. I in particular would like to thank Kyan and Emma for their efficient and friendly service all the more deserved because they were the only front of house staff in a very busy lunch period

Lovely relaxing feel to the place, stunning carvery but also full menu to choose from. Good play area outside for kids, same area inside for very little kids and the service is always top quality, friendly and helpful staff.

Come here regularly as we really enjoy the carvery, however, getting a little tired of miserable staff, especially behind the bar. One even saw me approach but pretended to be polishing the bar just to avoid serving. Seriously thinking of changing venue

First time going for a while, pleasantly surprised with decor. Food was lovely but would have preferred more veg choice. Plenty of seating inside and lovely seating area outside for warmer weather

The food was great, the price was good, and all of the staff were excellent. The staff worked hard and were attentive. I was particularly impressed by how the carvery staff looked after the younger guests. The staff as a whole deserve praise for their continuous hard work day in day out

Came for Sunday lunch and the carvery was amazing. The staff were lovely and very attractive. Nothing was to much trouble.

Food was nice. Small portions though for the price. I had exactly 10 small chips on my plate with my sandwich. Pub itself is very nice as was the staff.

Great food and an amazing atmosphere, we could see they was busy however they went above and beyond for us especially the chef Chris.

Had a family dinner ( 5 adults and 3 children?) we didn't expect much from the food and were not disappointed. But issue was I had a pint of beer which tasted odd, after half of it, I realised it was off. I took it to the bar for a refund and they would only refund half of the beer. They also knew it was off but still serve it. So, I was not impressed. They of course saved £2 on the beer refund but have lost customers and a large family group for life. I would avoid.

Visited as a large group family excellent atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon and had a quiz and bingo activity . Such an unusual change being similar to a local pub rather than a carvery facility.

Bit disappointed first visit,used a30% voucher but wasn’t taken of the scampi meal because it was on the lunchtime meals very confusing as you need a magnifying glass to read the small print. The carvery meat was tiny portion and cut so thin ,the stuffing was rock hard you couldn’t cut it. A very good selection of veg but it was just warm not hot. And why does the cauliflower always have cheese on you could do a pan cheese free for those that can’t stand cheese.the other disappointment the server spoke one word bringing my meal. SCAMPI,that was it no hello lovely day how are you any sauces etc,I asked for tartar sauce and got a teaspoon in the bottom of a tiny plastic container, plonked on the table again silence. First and last I think… ps we heard a lady say with coleslaw and salad to be told we don’t do coleslaw,and they bust out laughing couldn’t believe it

Met my friend for dinner in the evening and we had a great time. The food was lovely and we received fantastic customer service from Kylie who was so welcoming. It makes all the difference when you are greeted by staff who really appreciate your custom. We will definitely be returning soon!

All the food tasted the same, like it had all been cooked in the same pan. Bar service poor...stood waiting ages to be served. Most of the tables had reserved on them but noone came during my visit to sit In these places. My partner had the carvery looked delicious but everything was lukewarm. Noone came to ask if the food was ok, and once we had finished noone came to remove our plates etc.

Well...so dissappointed as a previous review stated, quality of food has dropped, yesterdays roast potatoes, cold mash, rubbery veg, tough Yorkies and couldn't have carved the meat any thinner. Complained but just received a feeble excuse instead of rectifying. Yes times are hard...for us all, what a waste of money

Our table was ready and waiting on arrival and the person who showed us to the table was friendly and welcoming. Our food orders arrived quickly and the food was good with generous portions. The wait staff were polite and friendly and not over-attentive. Some members of our party played and enjoyed the Irish Bingo. We did not feel rushed to leave the table and were able to leave in our own time. All in all it was a very enjoyable meal
