Was a lovely morning, had a brisk walk then popped in for breakfast lad called Cameron was amazing definitely be going back

Had Christmas dinner on Christmas day and the food was amazing, the place was packed but we were well looked after. The young lady who looked after us and seemed to be looking after everyone was very friendly and attentive to the customers needs. Her name was Charlotte, at one point I heard her reassure a customer (an elderley lady) that she would take her coat and hang it in the staff room and return it when she had finished her meal. I'd honestly say our day was made all the better by her professional yet very friendly manner. Thanks, definitely be coming back soon.

Fantastic meal on Christmas day, food was brilliant, we did have to wait for starters but for how busy you's where I'm not surprised for the waiting. Our server grace is a little star and the chef behind the carvery is so polite and always had a smile on his face. Thank you so much guys for such an amazing time and we'll definitely be booking next year

Group of 17 charity group had xmas lunch, on December 4th, It was a fantastic afternoon. Staff , brilliant. Food lovely, served hot and all at the same time. Thanks especially to Cameron and Grace,. From us all thanks. Jim douglass

Highly recommend. Was looking for a good pie and have been coming here ever since. Summer outside with a cold beer. Is perfect. Amazing carvery or breakfasts. It is always worth the trip and do recommend the added entertainment with ducks and swans walking about.

I absolutely love and recommend Woodhorn Grange for food and drink. It's cheap and cheerful plus the food is good and the staff are super friendly.

The only way I could do that was if you wanted me too I can just do the other way and you can just come over here and get me if you’re not feeling good I.

The Sunday lunch carvery was the best we'd ever had, so tasty and very enjoyable and worth the price £11.49 The staff are really lovely and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Decided to use the restaurant attached to the premier inn and had some great food. Well cooked and good value for money. Nice, quiet atmosphere. The table service was excellent. Thank you Grace for a really enjoyable experience.

We are are staying at hotel and decided to eat at the restaurant for dinner, glad we did! The food is reasonably priced and had no complaints. Customer service was fantastic! Grace was our server and she made sure we both had great meal. Thank you Grace :)

Food was hot and fresh. They always brought hot food out to replace what was taken. We could not fault a thing. 10/10 for all 4 of us.

Miserable staff breakfast stone cold dirty plates and cups and there was some mould on the bread eggs like rubber hardly any breakfast items got replaced the list could go on I won’t be back worst place I’ve ever eaten in Ashington if I could give no stars I would

After a 300 mile journey all in 1 morning we stopped for early lunch. Very good service, food was tasty. All the staff were friendly.

Food wasn't the best & service was so slow I had to keep asking if it has gone through. Then after having the mail course I had to ask twice for the dessert . Not good server wass more interested in talking to her friends that were in for a meal.

Boring basic and bland yeah its £11.99 what can you expect? Everything to taste exactly the same at that price because that is what it was. The army has cooked better scran on the bonnets of land rovers. queue for the carvery was like the conga most likely wont be back unless im kidnapped and force-fed this portion of gruel again.

We were asked to pay before we had a chance to choose what we wanted! Run out of clean mugs and cutlery so we had to wait for them before we could get our buffet breakfast. When we got there there was no black pudding, mushrooms or fried eggs left. As it was nearing the end of breakfast the trays were not replenished. At the end of breakfast at 10.30 the staff were like vultures attacking the food that was left! They weren't even discreet, they just stood there tucking in! Would not return or recommend 😞

This is an understaffed, under-resourced chain pub. The staff, although very pleasant, are poorly managed and deployed. Long waits to be served, particularly at the bar, IT failures, and power cuts just add to the amateur nature of the place. Running out of brandy, pink gin and the wine we wanted was unbelievable, the lack of fruit and mint for the cocktails advertised was farcical. You can have lime though.

We are staying next door and have popped in for drinks and also for an evening meal. Both times the staff have been lovely and very helpful. We'd specifically like to give a huge thank you to Chloe who was serving us tonight who was very friendly and professional especially throughout a powercut issue. The food was really nice and there was a large selection to choose from.

Stood at bar for 10 minutes then went to kitchen door to ask if anyone serving same happened last time I was here if you can’t get served you can’t spend

Have not long returned from a visit to this pub/restaurant. Everything that I would like to say is nothing but compliments. On arrival was welcomed by a lovely lad, manager was very helpful and accommodating. Our waitress Josie K could not do enough to help and make us feel extremely welcome, big thank you. We will return the next time we are up in the are.

Food took ages to arrive,chips were dry and tasteless, my daughters burger was disgusting really dry and in a hard bun,when mentioned this to the woman behind the till said"nothing we can do about it" infact her face was like a wet weekend,don't think we will be returning anytime soon

Stayed for three nights. Clean, comfortable room. Restaurant staff, especially Jenny and Grace were excellent. We'll be back!

Really good value and they cater for vegans well. The burger with added "fakon" was really excellent and so was the crumble. Grace , who served us, was super helpful and pleasant. Overall great experience.

Great lunch... our large group had a range of mobility needs, and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space with lots of parking. The staff were amazing, helpful and considerate, the service was prompt and faultless. Jess in particular looked after us brilliantly, thank you

Nice sunday lunch , but outside area needs good tidy up , the closed play area full of weeds and bird feathers , not nice looking out at that , but good food good service.

Been for meal ordered fish and chips for partner and 7oz gammon for myself... gammon came was a 5oz sent it back.partener had finished his meal.food came back I was in a conversation with partner that he had finished his and server interrupting saying do i still want mine!!..RUDE..sent it back and said i wanted a refund..not dealing with bad attitude never going back..not even an apology for wait or nothing!!

Every visit food and service spot on. The only down side at this time is the new menu which is RUBBISH

came for a carvery at 3pm on a Sunday as says they do them until 6pm to be told carvery was closed when assigned to a seat carvery was still open and people getting food waited over a hour for food and the hole time the carvery remained open

We have stayed at the Premier and eaten at the Cookhouse several times. This time we didn’t have the breakfast as we went out and met family for a breakfast but know from previous visits breakfast is very good. The weather was hot and before dinner we sat outside with some drinks overlooking the lake, which was very pleasant, plenty of tables available. The only downside ( which is why I gave four stars instead of five) was the waiting time to be served drinks at the bar, I think there could have been another member of staff on given that everyone unsurprisingly wanted drinks. We had two evening meals, three of us the first night, one of scampi, peas and chips and two beef lasagnas with accompaniments, then the second night had a selection of snacky things with a sharing plate and salad, and that was very good, it certainly filled us up, no complaints about portion sizes! The wine was lovely, I had the Jam Shed Chardonnay which I enjoyed. Our server Katrina was very pleasant and looked after us very well especially considering how busy it was on a Friday night, she flew about seeing to everyone and clearing tables etc but we were always able to catch her eye to order anything else. I have no hesitation in recommending the place, especially in the summer when the outdoor area comes into it’s own!

Food good but pie & mash at over £12 is very over priced in our opinion. Small minced steak & ale pie, frozen mash & peas tiny gravy jug. Smothered chicked meal very nice. Gammon good too. Staff very friendly & polite

It's a fantastic, friendly restraunt, lovely views over the lake. Good food , reasonably priced, Fantastic staff callam the duty manager, all the waitresses. And especially to laura who puts up with 4, old codgers every week. Well done

We have made Woodhorn Grange 1 of our regular dining experiences. Yesterday we went with family who had never been before. 2 couple dining for under £12 with a good choice of meals is real value plus a bottle of Pinot at around £14.00 is in this day and age real value for money. Importantly the venue is welcoming and clean. Lots of free parking and a good choice of drinks at the bar. But all made better by excellent, attentive and friendly staff. It’s difficult to say 1 is better than the other but if you are served by Sian you will have the best of service.

Lush breakfast, full English cooked to perfection, great selection of lighter breakfast items also , kids were chuffed with Nutella on pancakes followed by a yogurt and fresh apple juice . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ To the breakfast Chef Richy 😊 Also thanks to Jenni and Sam for a friendly and professional greeting and service. Will definitely be back

Had both breakfast and dinner here as part of deal with Premier Inn. Staying for 3 nights had planned different meals each night-however due to the menus changing the day after we left, both second and third nights did not have the full range available, including a couple of different meals we wanted. Apart from that, the food was very good, and the staff were brilliant - we were served by both Charlotte and Chloe - super friendly staff.

Don't bother! Nice enough staff, but awful food and drink. The tea and coffee are UNDRINKABLE, all 4 of the party left our drinks unfinished. Shocking. Will not be coming back!

We come here quite regularly for a family meal & there’s a small soft play area for the kids that they love. You can also sit & eat in that area so can keep an eye on them. Had great service from our waitress today Chloe. Thankyou

I was staying at the hotel next door so decided to have lunch here. Food was good as always. Brilliant service by multiple staff, especially Lois and Rhys.

Carvery had no flavour, very bland, and very little to choose from the dessert menu. Seemingly, they were changing it. Staff were very friendly but food a big let down.

This used to be a very nice place, but in recent years, service has become slow, the menu never seems to change, and the prices are pretty high. On the plus side, the staff are friendly.

Popped in tonight with my husband and son food was beautiful the young man who served me at the bar was very pleasant don't no his name. Finished the evening off with a lovely walk around the lake.

Went for breakfast this morning, was ok no pastries or poached eggs as advertised on menu. The staff wasn't friendly and not very helpful. Wasn't greeted on arrival and walked past two member of staff upon leaving neither said goodbye. Would be reluctant to return because of the staffing issues we faced.

Really friendly manager, and cheifs behind carvery. Sunday roasts are by far the best around area, and the price is excellent for what servings you get from buffet service. Highly recommend

The restaurant is dark and uninviting. The floors and tables were extremely filthy. The food was tasteless and expensive! We will never set foot in this place again!

Love going here with my family. Never had a bad meal or experience. Nice to sit outside whenever we get the weather. Can't beat the view.

Stayed through a work booking. Evening meal was a little disappointing, I uttered the words to myself that I was glad I didn't pay 13 quid for that burger. Breakfast was much better and served by Jenni who was very helpful indeed. Room staff left me a message which I had to chuckle at, wishing me a pleasant stay with the pictoresque location which in my room was gas tanks, a service road and the main road beyond but thanks all the same, maybe the views of the lake on the opposite side are rather more picturesque!

Rhys absolutely amazing, very very nice man. Kept us in a very nice conversation, served us really nice food. Wouldn’t expect anything less from Rhys. Lovely lad. Definitely brings a smile and the right vibe to this place definitely recommend coming here!

I’ve been here for breakfast once and also lunch once. It was ideal for us as we had a toddler and there was a soft play area for her. Food is actually not bad at all. Plenty of variety and nice atmosphere . Staff are very friendly and helpful.

As usual, we enjoyed our meal. Pleasant surroundings with a lovely view over the lake and a chance to see the swans up close. Our waitress, Grace was wonderful, pleasant to talk to.Thank you Grace.

Terrible waited 40 mins for meal that was dry and very very small portions,my son had a kids meal that would have been OK and value for money had he ever got his sweet he asked them at the bar for it then we sat 30 minutes longer for it not to arrive and just left as we had to get back home,beautiful area but this spolit it and over £30 disappointing 😕

Great atmosphere and service as always. Katrina was wonderful. We were in a large group and there was no issue finding us a table and no hurry to leave either.

Poor quality service tonight! Waitress didn't write our order down (starters and mains for 2 people) and my partner ended up with the wrong meal. We had a 30min + wait between our starters and mains anyway so he was unwilling to request a new meal by that point. Ruined the whole evening for us.

On holiday from Scotland using the premier inn attached to this restaurant as a base. Stayed 4 nights and took meal deal each day : 2 courses, drink and breakfast. Great portions excellent choice. Location is beautiful right on the waterside. Small soft play open all day brilliant for entertaining our 6 year old and for bribing him to eat his food. Everything we have eaten during our stay has been piping hot and delicious. The staff are excellent particularly Sharon, Catrina and Charlotte who were so friendly and helpful even when run off their feet. In summary would highly recommend

There’s absolutely nothing in the toddler section of the play area! There was much older children literally bouncing off the walls in said toddler area with no parents watching them and correcting the behaviour nor the staff

Went for a family lunch with my partner and our children. Reserved a table which was ready when we arrived, the pub was a little quieter than I expected but this was probably due to no live sport being show on tv. Ordering the food was nice and easy and food arrived fairly quickly. The kids 3 course meals for £5.99 was great value for money. My 2 kids both ordered steak and unfortunately they were a little under cooked for their taste, however when we told the server rather than take the steaks away and recoil them like most pubs would do 2 full fresh meals were served to replace them! Can’t fault the food or the staff who were very polite and professional, the only thing that lets the pub down is some of its clientele, one family made such a mess they left on a hurry and didn’t even finish their drinks, and pair of males used lots of foul language in the family dining area. Not the pubs fault though. Will definitely come back again

We visited for an overnight stay at the premier inn so visited here for dinner and breakfast the following morning. Both times we were greeted and served by Sharn who greeted us warmly and served us with a smile. Even though she was evidentially rushed off her feet she did not make you feel that she did not have the time. The food was lovely and reasonably priced but I think with any establishment these days it’s the staff who make it an enjoyable experience and Sharn definitely did that. Thank-you

Breakfast was great, lots of choice and the staff were continuously restocking the food items. We were welcomed in and the manager Paul made lots of effort with our children . All staff were friendly and the service was fast. We will defo be back .

Myself, my daughter and our friend went for lunch on Saturday 30th march- the pub was lovely and clean with a beautiful view of the lake. We were served by reece who was friendly, helpful and polite. The meals we had were beautiful and good va.ue for money. We enjoyed it so much we decided we were going to come the next day for Sunday lunch, we spoke to jenny who went out of her way to fetch us menus as my daughter is vegetarian, she booked our table for the next day with efficiency and was just lovely. We came the next day and were seated at the table of our choice and were served by sian who greeted us with a big smile. We asked her about veggie choices and she checked on ingredients as I have allergies and nothing was too much for her, she was really lovely and friendly and made the last day of our stay nearby great. Would highly recommend this pub as they know how to do hospitality exceptionally well. Next time we're in the area we'll be in for lunch!

Excellent service from the lovely girl Jenny. Although it was busy food was served promptly and very hot. We ordered Crème egg sundaes for dessert and they were delicious 😋
